1) Your “reward” is having an account not crippled by all the limitations put on free ones. I don’t know if you’ve actually looked into it at all but the free accounts are more like a trial version without a time limit. There’s a huge list of things they can’t do, including buy and sell most items, get login rewards, talk in map chat and leave starter zones before level 10.

that is not sound bad at all, it’s not even permanent, nor that hard to get to level 10 really. And why would player want to leave starter zones before level 10, it makes no incentive.
2) daily login reward?
actually i have a friend who just downloaded and play the game, he get daily reward just fine, in fact if not for him, i didn’t even know it’s there.
3) What do you mean buy and sell? like in AH trading post? again i don’t see how that is a big problem.
You do not get any other “reward” for having an existing account, than a character slot, which is ~$10. You do not get a refund for the original purchase, not sure why you would think that you should.
I own HoT, and I felt it was worth the purchase price. Do some research, read reviews, use your Google-foo, and decide if it is worth it to you.

In order to play HoT for free when ever they do another expansion means you would have to buy the next one … which will probably be more than the $50 this one was since it will be a couple years from now and you know how inflation works … things only get more expensive.
Why would i need to? I mean do i need to buy Heart of Thorn to play Guild War 2 Origin? no right?
the original is already free, all you gotta do is download the original. Then Heart of Thorns will be free too next year. Sure the 3rd expansion still buy2play, but then once 4th expansion come out, the 3rd one will also be free. So it’s 1Free-2Free-3Free-4Free……great business model.

Hello, i’m a return player from last year.
I just read https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/pre-purchase-community-address/ about GW “pre-purchase” news
And realize the game is now Free to Play. So the questions are:
1) Do I get any other rewards beside extra character slot?
2) If I buy Heart of Thorn now, do i get refund on my previous purchase? (i bought original brand new on ebay)
3) Why the expansion with no new race, no additional level cap is so expensive? Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void is also expansion, and it’s $10 less.
It’s kind of sad how they treat old loyal player, and it make me question whether it worth to buy Heart of Thorn. Funny they didn’t do the same for Guild War 1, been wanting to try that game.

So all the same dye from different characters will become unidentified dyes but what happen if you open it and it end up the same dye you already had?
If you mean the 5 free ones, you needed to go to the gem store Promotions tab and “buy” the 5 charges there for 0 gems.

Forget new dungeon, where NEW LANDS? NO EXPANSIONS either. I rather have new pay-once dlc like DC universe online, i’d buy new lands and contents.
Which is a shame tease cause Tyria map is much larger compare to playable areas.
And don’t give me excuse this game fails = no expansion cause that’s just straight up lie.
Many world bosses on Sea of Sorrow are bugged as hell, and i don’t say it lightly.
Defeat Reidarr Rockcrusher, he never spawn or come to Priory tower.
Jungle Wurm is bugged for 1 week, event never trigger.
Frozen Maw just bugged after the patch. Scholar keep return home after destroy totem.
Shadow Behemoth bugged for 2 weeks, event never start.
And can someone buffed low level boss too please? end-game zerg camp gang them too easily. Probably the sources of bugs. Add special area damage spell at 50+ players or something.
Make sure you are looking at your Equipment and not your Wardrobe. Had the same issue last night.

There used to be a small slot below accessories before the patches.
How is my tools get equipped? I wouldn’t imagine my mine rocks with my bare hand.

Which mostly get camp mostly by END-GAME players. Funny game we play huh?
You know why? cause beginner don’t even know about these bosses exist, most newbies are there to do quests and luckily run into bosses, rarely.
End-gamers have timers phase and everything, camping bosses like some professional hackers. So when Shadow Behemoth is up, it drop dead in 5 minutes, so fast noobs pass by not even know about it, sad really.

1 Year ago, Teq was doable, now it’s near impossible, god know why >_>
But who need Teq when you can away from keyboard farming SB, Maw and Wurm right? at least Shatterer require some control (super easy boring dragon too btw, stand in corner and press 1 till he die, the zerg take care the rest)
If you want to scale them, remove timers.
And that, another ridiculous thing, happen to Jormag at 10% health at low game hours all the time, it’s depressing. Again, back to SCALING problem, if there’s only 5 players, the bosses shouldn’t impossible. Frozen Maw feel more tankier with large players, but Maw damage still very low.

And the most guilty ones are Shadow Behemoth, Frozen Maw, Jungle Wurm, which get camping gang rap daily by 30+ END-GAME players, it’s so sad that some puppies died.
I mean I understand these are for low level players (i know right? the irony) so it should more doable but for how the boss difficulty scale and the cap of max players, this is ridiculous.
I can literally AFK farming these bosses Literally, which shouldn’t happen because they’re world RAID boss for a reason, why are they so boring as hell. The bosses’ dps is laughable with exotic gears, especially now with Ascended gears.
Suggestion:
1) give raid bosses more abilities and powers as the number of players increase, ex: an elite or ultimate that deal large damage (similar to Jormag) damage # multiply by player level x # player dpsing. Or some kind of heavy crowd control, get it? crowd?
2) Make the world bosses scale better, up to 100 players, cause for how easy it is right now
I mean geez if only Dungeons are this easy, it would save lots of headache and repair bill. Some imbalance of this game seriously still haven’t addressed after years.

And NO, sorry most people, no one like to GRIND dungeons and lame Escape Lionarch for 1 hundreds times.
Who care about all these Holidays and Christmas, Lion Arch Pirate blah blah, it’s all pointing to GRIND, worst content for MMO, why do you think no one play those grindfest FREE asian mmo. No wonder these events are free, who would pay for these boring events, honestly gamer perspective.
Work on the freaking expansion please, make more money, at least that offer better story. Cause even for end-gamers, camping Shatter and Jungle Wurm for 100 times is no fun at all.
The funny part is, when you look at Guild Wars 2 World Map, it’s so misleading, clearly showing twice more lands than the game really offer. False marketing intention? Sad really…

Well I’m on Sea of Sorrow, if you don’t called that crowded server I don’t know what more. And yes we are talking about weekend at peak hour where most people online, how to know? Frozen Maw get swarmed, Jungle Wurm get zerg, Jormag get swarmed, Shatter get zerg,
EXCEPT for Tequatl, ironic, can’t blame them, those new Risen landmine and turrets are fkbiiatch. Funny i didn’t recalled see those 1 year ago.

What is the highest cap amount of players for these group events?
You know how more players = harder boss, but I assume there is a max cap somewhere. There probably big difference between 5 players vs. 20 players, but i wouldn’t image there is a scale of 20 vs. 40 players. The cap must be somewhere like max 30 players right?
Cause let’s face it, it’s sad to see lowbie boss like Frozen Maw get zerg by 40 players, this boss need to scale higher so he can 1 shot end-game-people, more fair fight ya know.
By the way, how come no one want Tequatl Sunless anymore? 1 years ago this boss usually get swarmed by 50 ants. Did this boss get overbuffed?
1 year ago when i do this i tend to get 1 big chest spawn at boss after each event. Now sometime there’s none.
Yes I’m talking about the big chest, not the daily floaty chest.
As for the damage to get chest, well i get Gold Medal, so if that not considered as enough damage i don’t know what.
As for the daily is there way to check?

2 Times with Frozen Maw event, no chest at all. Ok maybe it’s a small chest sometime it’s there sometime it’s not, fine.
3 Times with Great Jungle Wurm, no chest either. The funny part is, i see lots of other players run up to open chest.
So is this by chance or something now? if so, then what’s the point of doing world boss when you can do normal event.
Does anyone encounter the same problem?
In short, the problems are
1) Wait Point as always, ridiculously far away.
2) Even if WP nearby, single player can no longer revive while the team still fight boss. THIS is the HUGE problem. This could greatly making all dungeons even harder than they already were.
Why? In long story, GW2 Dungeons are always horribly bad because their level of difficulty is next to impossible. So the key to help make these dungeons doable is to keep the boss in battle. It gives reason for survivors to keep fighting harder hoping their members would revive run back and help keep boss from reset.
However with the new sadistic change from the developers, player can no longer revive wp while team in combat, which is
1) logically ridiculous, how can your character be in combat if you’re dead
2) technically this mean now you have to lie there helplessly waiting for your surviving member to either kill the boss HOPEFULLY, or party wipe and boss reset at WORSE
I guess i was happy to early when I said dungeons are easier now. Sure I’m glad most ridiculous dungeon like COE with ridiculous boss like Alpha aoe 1 shot spam get less health but
Sad dungeon contents really.

Just to let the team know that there are many who appreciate the changes.
I mean from the days the GW2 come out until now, the dungeon contents probably the most worst frustrated stressful unbalance parts of this master piece. We have mobs/bosses ridiculously unbalance in one way or another, in damage or in numbers 1 shot 2 shots people while have tons of health.
You almost feel as if whoever developers design these dungeons must have sick sadistic mind, enjoy watching players struggle suffer, cause god know why, they’re evil?
Of course there are always end-game-no-life who think all dungeons are balanced and boast how easy dungeons are because bragging and trolling are fun, but that is another disease that’s always exist in MMO.
Bottom words, I salute you Arenanet team.
PS1: you want to know if a dungeon is balance or not? see how popular it is. If high lv dungeon like COF is more popular than lower lv dungeon like TA and SE, something is wrong.
PS2: Now, can you guys please make GW2LFG as an official feature of GW2, I’m sure that would bring more smiles to the community =))

Oh don’t get me start on other dungeons. I mean we have monsters 1 shot 2 shots people. Trap and crap that also 1 shot 2 shots people.
I mean geez I know we have dodge evasion system but isn’t this a little too extreme difficult, especially there a limit how often we can dodge. Kratos didn’t have any limit on his dodge.
And don’t get me start on bug and glitches. Guild Wars 2 Dungeon probably the worst weakness of GW2 and need serious change. Like “real change”
PS: Does anyone here beside me love FOTM Swamp? it drives newbies crazy. There must be some sadistic developer sitting somewhere on the throne up there above Arena

They can simply add more reward for Story Mode, this would be the quickest simple way without any brain power.
Currently Story Mode does not give Trophy, so no reason for people like me who finish it do it again.
Make Story Mode reward more gold, that way people who want to do gold farm can do Story
People who want Trophy for gear can do Explorable. It’s a win-win.
It’s the two most biggest complaints about FotM dungeon, the inability to rejoin your party if you accidentally disconnect, and the level restriction. If you don’t like it, play ironman rules where if someone leaves, they’re not allowed to rejoin or something.
I didn’t say i don’t like the change, don’t put word in my mouth.
I just hate the fact they are just lazy when it come to “IMPROVING” the dungeons, or simply working on entire GW2 Dungeon contents.
Create 1 new dungeon and add 50 level to it, maybe they should add level 100, you know, more level to grind for this “non-grind” mmo. That would make Guild Wars 2 more fun right?
MMOs generally support a variety of play styles. GW2 supports soloing better than many, and there’s a large variety of solo-friendly content.
Sounds to me like your issue is more with the fact that you want stuff (dungeon gear) but don’t want to do the stuff to get it (group up) than a perceived lack of solo support in GW2.
Not as well as GW1. Which is shame they took it off. Which what Guild War all about and makes it unique different from WOW and other MMO. Now GW2 dungeon is just another “WOW clone”
I mean we not always have 5 friends online who want to run the same thing you want.
What happen if you and 2 of your friends online and want to run FOTM level 50? who gonna fill the other 2 spots? public noobs which most likely quit due to drama emo stuff?

I had tried to make long ear Asura once, big mistake, during combat, it stood up like a bull.
Completely out of character and awkward.

Its a 3 hour warning if you are in a dungeon, story mission or instance. In the open world its only 1 hour or less. If you are in a dungeon and get the 3 hour warning and then finish and leave, then you are on the regular reset time.
I was doing COE, just picked up reward from last boss.
Boom! server reset… -_-
I don’t see how that counts as 3 hours or 1 hours or even 30 min
and this is not the first time they do this, sometime i just wandering around gathering, “…new build in 1 hour….” 5 minutes later, the server reset, i mean wtf.
is there? a new build in 3 hrs? or is this a rant?

It seem Arenanet not only enjoy reset server whenever they feel like doing but also have very misconception perception about their “Three Hours”
The community would very appreciate if Arenanet could give us 1 hour warning that’s actually 1 hour rather 10 minutes cough* i mean 3 hours lie. Thanks god I picked up my reward. Otherwise i would had paid for someone else incompetence.

is it just Asura or when engineer equip the kit on, the backpack animation is awkwardly horizontally attach to the back rather than how it normally should be.
Same when engineer equip shield, it will be attached face down rather than vertically fit to the engineer’s back.
At first i thought, it was my laptop, but when i try to play on my PC, same animation bug happens. It wasn’t like this before till the recent small patch
Level 80 looking for active dungeon guild.
Dungeon guild = guild that run all dungeons (especially mid-dungeons like SE, COE, HOTW, TA) not just hardcore grind AC FOTM dungeon day and night till eyes bleed.
I’m level 80 and still spend lots of hour each day playing (crafting, boss event, alt toon story) seeking guild that has same dedication, devotion, with the same enjoyment for this game.
PS: I can transfer to any server that your guild on, leave your/officer name and i will whisper

Maybe not everyone wants to do things easy in life. Some people actually like a challenge and a bit of variety.
Yes the casual one, the one who only on couple hours to find something fun to do, cause they have too many golds and time and not care about repair cost.
But the dedicated players, who sit there for hours and hours to play (farm) the game. Why pick the painful hard path to do? It’s like if you know you have to drive to work every day. Would you want a shorter path to work? rather than long path so you can enjoy the beautiful street.
1) running with a pug group, run with the common interest
2) if you want to run in a certain fashion, form your own group, voice it clearly
Here are examples of some of my LFG messages:
LF2M AC exp all 3 path fast run experienced char preferred
LF2M AC exp carrying low level alts, going to take it nice and slow.
I see…if finding group isn’t hard enough cause some people want to do this dungeon for exp and other want to do another dungeon for story and another want to do FOTM level 1 and other want to do FOTM level 4.
Now we also add another requirement “experienced vs. nice and slow”
Add more rocks to the scale i see?

Standing in the back DOING NO FIGHTNING because you cannot fight the boss because you get 1 shot whenever you walk near the boss or whatever reason. So you stand on the back watching leeching free riding is NOT EXCUSABLE
Why? there is the thing call Weapon Swap. There is also a thing call Bag. If you cannot help the fight, then you are a burden to your group. Because why?
“oh Warrior Guardian range weapon suck, therefore I choose not to have them” Ok…then the party choose not to have you. Fair right?

Yea, my “FARM” group love to do only AC, and only AC, cause they can skip all the trash group of monsters.
Because Arenanet doesn’t know how to prevent people skipping contents.
You know the funny part, when we die at boss and have to run back, we get bitten by those monsters we skip.
But I couldn’t blame them, the game encourage people to skip monsters.
Right now, with the way our dungeons are balanced, it’s not an easy thing to nerf/buff/balance the rewards for each dungeon individually compared to other dungeons. Even within a single dungeon’s paths there can be different difficulties (Detha vs Hodgins for example), so making AC reward different from CoE would still not be entirely fair.
….Rest assured though, that we are not done with loot changes. We are always analyzing, evaluating, and changing as needed to try and make things better.

To sum up your point. Wouldn’t difficulty measure by the time it take to finish it?
If so, why people get more reward for doing easier dungeon FASTER and get MORE REWARD. While doing HARDER dungeon LONGER and get LESS reward.
It would be like telling, here is the easy one, do this one only cause it’s quick and easy, better reward too, don’t do that hard one over there cause it’s bad take too long and not worth the time for too little reward.
Then what is the point for Developers to waste all these time making 7 dungeons not worth doing and why not just make 1 dungeon, AC, save time effort and development cost.
I don’t say we should give more or give less, but my point is, please make it FAIR. So people don’t spend 30 and get 3 and not spend 45 and get only 1.

Dungeons content probably the worse part of this game.
1) Difficult to find group, if the specific dungeon not hard enough, now we have specific separate story & explore mode. Especially with Fractal with multiple levels.
2) Lack of incentive reward. Why do this dungeon to get this little where you can do other to get more? Why do you think people like to farm AC?
3) Unbalances, many non-boss monsters just couple hits or instant kill players. It’s worse when they are in group near impossible. Recommend level is inaccurate with the dungeon difficulty (ex: CM story difficulty =/= level 40, lv40 players die constantly)
Because it’s a pain to find party for the dungeon you want.
Especially now with FOTM with so many different level.
My friend want to do AC, my guild want to do COF, Lion Arch want to do FOTM1, but I want to do FOTM4, sigh…good game…do you see the problem with this game now?

This is absolutely an issue as the game matures and we are working on ways to make running story mode with someone worthwhile even if you have already run it so players just reaching these dungeons can more easily find groups to play with. It will probably take some experimentation before we find the right motivator.

Well, I’m glad about time someone over there notice. It’s the black spot of all mmo. Once the players reach max level, they only do the exp mode for instance grind if not only the popular dungeon say only AC.
I mean, if you guys gonna take out the henchmen from GW1, at least make it easier to find dungeon party (party matching queue?). At this rate, new players won’t be able to find party, while old players only do same old single dungeon say, FOTM, and skip out the rests.
And this is kind of sad cause GW2 is still a new game.
