First of all:
Assuming you dodge and don’t run a glasscannon setup, all dungeons are straightforward and easy. Many are boring due to easy but endlessly-long bossfights, yes. None are difficult in the slightest.
You mean like when there 3 Elites that can area knock down, area poison, and possible area root? (exclude the boss hit like a truck) sure, dodge always solve those problem right? especially assuming you can spam dodge none-stop >_> since there is no such thing as endurance correct?
In addition, the dungeon “recommend” level is inaccurate. For example: Try to do AC exp with a group of level 35. No not 80, 35+, i dare ya, if you don’t mind the repair bill, assume your level 35 group can finish AC exp.
Second:
It’s not difficult to find a party. Go to LA, /m, got a party within 10 minutes. Works every single time so far, independent of where I want to go.
Hard to believe, finding party for mid-dungeon like SE exp or TA exp is nearly impossible. But hey! i see lots of LFM AC and LFM Fractal spam…..there you go, that is the problem. People, your guild, your friends, only do dungeons that are popular. You know what we call this problem?
“skipping contents”
(edited by baalblade.8465)
You missing the point here, the LFG spam is not the problem, the problem is what cause that LFG spam, the problem is, there are players who need group for dungeon but could not find one. That is the problem.
How would matchmaker reduce the socializing of the game? in fact, it even makes it easier to find friend if you think about it. You join a queue for dungeon/match like in League of Legend, the next you know, your team invite you to be their friends.
But more important, what it solves is this:
You will always be able to find group that that want to run the same dungeon that you do at that same time.
For example: if you want to run AC, why stand in Lion Arch spam the map chat or guild chat with no hope anyone would answer. Why not just sign up queue for AC and let the system do the rest. Whoever you run AC might even invite you for friend, or into new guild.
Grat, want a AC run? problem solve
Want socialize? not a problem.
Rather than,
“you want to run AC, but everyone in your guild, your friends, and Lion Arch want FOTM = no AC for you”
(edited by baalblade.8465)
Then don’t make finding party such a pain. And don’t make some dungeons near impossible. That’s just grief players
Maybe add Matching System like League of Legend or DC Online. This game already took out the holy “Trinity Requirement” of instance, it almost there. We no longer need the stupid “LGF Tank, LFG Healer”
(edited by baalblade.8465)
This GW2 Solo Questing is amazing, the idea of making it public really encourage players to co-op. It really make solo questing much more enjoyable. And more important, it remove the stupid “Looking for group catch”
HOWEVER, GW2 Dungeon (Instance) still suffer that one problem as all MMO do. Yes, if you are level 30+ and trying to find party for dungeon, you know how hard it is to find one. That is the problem…
Then you go to Lion’s Arch and see much of map chat spamming “LFG (insert dungeon), LFM (insert dungeon)” LFG AC exp, LFM FOTM" <— this is the problem.
In the end, players will only run dungeon that is popular ex: AC or end-game like FOTM and skip the rest. Which I wouldn’t blame them, because some dungeons are nearly impossible unbalance ridiculously hard even for recommended level.
So when new players or old players who want to start a new class and need to find group for specific dungeon say for story mode. They cannot find any group. See the problem yet?
And it’s not like GW have no solution for it. GW1 give player ability to “create their own NPC group for dungeon” Now I read on most of other fan forum and the reason GW2 does not have this feature is because the game is designed so that “everything is solo-able”
Solo-able huh? funny, sure….go into AC and try to solo it! That is the problem.
Sure we can join guild to reduce the problem, but since not everyone is there when you need them and even so, they not always want to run the same dungeon you want, so that didn’t solve this problem either.

I have a friend at workplace who play this game, he told me his server, toon name, and his log in name except that 4 stupid numbers (you know, those numbers)
Is there any easier way i can look for him?
You know how MOBA game or Warcraft 3 Ladder, they have this database where you can look up certain player
Does anyone know any official or fansite of guild wars 2 player database that i can do that?
PS: when i want to invite someone (to party or guild) do i use his login name or character name?
You see the PROBLEM!!! in this freaking Lost Shores event is the server managers didn’t make a right assumption to begin with.
They KNOW this is ONE TIME event, meaning what? there will be at LEAST 50 people in one spot => heavy lag.
So? maybe Anet should split the group into different overflow server. Maybe they shouldn’t make the boss so overpowered that it require 50 people.
Common guys, common sense here. I mean i got my reward and have fun fighting watching people get owned, but i just feel sorry for those on laptop or bad PC.
Being standing in Lion Arch for 30 minute. Nothing happen
Is it because I miss Phase 1?
Standing in Lion Arch Court for 30 minutes, nothing happen.
Or is it because I miss Phase 1?
Does anyone know if we have any patch note (bug fix, change, skill buffs) beside the new contents?
PS: Where is my mount (:
(edited by baalblade.8465)
Wow! worse cutscene than even Tutorial Boss Fight.
At least I don’t feel bad missing it ;p
Does anyone know any information about update? like patch bug fix etc.
Btw, how long each event last?
……On Friday November 16th at noon PST (20:00 GMT) the weekend will kick off with an Event in Lion’s Arch that you don’t want to miss. This will trigger events in other parts of Tyria as well.
*On Saturday November 17th at noon PST (20:00 GMT), another phase will kick in.
Each phase is triggered by a special event, but you will be able to enjoy additional [QUOTE]content afterwards even if you cannot make the kick-off time. There is one exception:The event will culminate in a big Finale on Sunday November 18, make sure you will not miss it. This will be a onetime only event chain that will run multiple hours, and it will kick off at noon PST (20:00 GMT). ….
Why do they have to make it so complicated rather than just go Eastern or Pacific.
Can anyone help me out translate what is 20:00 GMT?
PS: btw where is Lost Shores? only lv55 not sure i been there yet, and the description on quest log not helpful either.

The trait affects the adept minor traits of the other elements, in other words it affects:
Stone Flesh
Normally each one is only active in its elemental attunement. If you have this trait, you retain the effect for 5 seconds after swapping out of its attunement.
Which is what i hope for but Stone Flesh not affected at all (just tested in heart of Mist) As for Zephyr Speed, it’s impossible to test that.
The 5-point minor traits for each of the elements will linger for a bit. So for example, 5 points in water grants Soothing Mists that regenerates health every second. The Lingering Attunements means that Soothing Mist will linger for a bit after you’ve already left water.
Yup, 5 second longer on Soothing Mists. Which is the only good thing about this trait
Arcane Fury: Grant yourself fury for 2 seconds on attunement.
Elemental Attunement: When attuning to an element, you and all nearby allies gain a boon based on that attunement for 2 seconds
Rock Solid: Grant stability (2s) to nearby allies when attuning to earth
Just tested at Heart of Mist.
Arcane Fury: No
Elemental Attunement: Yes, but very short, can only be notice on Fire-Might-2 sec extra.
Rock Solid: No
Which is suck! cause I need my Arcane slot for Final Shield – Shield at 25% HP. And I was hoping I get Earth Toughness per level to stay little longer :/
(edited by baalblade.8465)
On the 15 points on Arcane trait, it’s a passive ability. “Attunement bonus linger 5 seconds longer”
My question is, what bonus is it talking about?
because as far as I know, the only difference from one attunement to another is different skills. No passive bonus stat or anything. (ex: Earth trait increase toughness didn’t stay 5 sec longer) I do notice the last attunement icon stay longer for 5 seconds, but how is it help?

Oh and before you go and say ‘Go Play Rohan then…’ theyve ruined the game by making it a lot harder to obtain decent equipment, forcing you to buy from the cash shop. Plus this is just my opinion on what would make GW2 more exciting.
Anyone got anything to add? What would you like to see in the game to make it more exciting? Is it exciting enough already for you?
OMG a wall of text from a player who played a garbage game and now compare it with GW2. I’m just kidding, no hard feeling, no offense, but Rohan IS GARBAGE. Deny all you want, it’s true.
Ok first of all. Rohan is a free grindfest game just as all those others asian F2P games. That garbage was over hyped when it first out (yes I was there when Rohan first born) This forced Dev open more servers out of excitement, but when its “true face” reveal, people left in mass till now it’s just another Runescape.
Experience from level 70 Dhan over here (after I’m fed with the game and left) Why do you think people play WOW and not Rohan?
The game pvp is as broken as its instances. You gank some noob randomly while he do quests, and you on his list, and he get to teleport back at you and bite you one beautiful day is hardly considered a PVP, especially when you in instance fighting boss, and suddenly 6 players pop out from nowhere and pawn you. Yup that’s fun cough*
Long story short, GRIND is a curse of MMO, and no way all games can completely avoid. Now, GW2 did a very good job minimize it so far, even better job than WOW, so let’s not embrace grind ok? cause that’s where people start leaving out of boredom. Hey if you like grind for legendary weapon, there is a F2P WOW clone call, Allods and Runes of Magic, go plays them, then you will miss GW2. If meat dull your taste, there is always grass, then you will realize what you took for granted. People didn’t pay 60 bucks to stand in one spot waiting mobs to spawn and kill them for countless hours, sorry wrong game.
There is one thing Rohan did right, it’s the party group search system. You can sign your party up, or yourself on the board and people who need to run dungeons can find you. Much easier than to world shout.
~~~It’s nice that you enjoy hell, but don’t go tell others how beautiful hell is.~~~
Why not? at least drake or whelp
What? you never seen “how to train a dragon” ?
Plus Norse mythology, story, legend (at least in games and media) always go around dragons.
(edited by baalblade.8465)
I like the Wolf, half health, turn Wolf, few attacks, full health =D
But yea, i think they could use a buff to make it worth more for elites. Ex: Longer duration, can’t do crap with 30 sec.
And Immune to crowd control, as a trade off for losing other skills. Can’t tell how frustrated after I transformed and got long knock back or stun by mobs, it’s embarrassing.
Ohhh, especially with Sylvari “dragon ball hair”
Slifer the SKY DRAGON!!!!
Anyway, i hope we get more gigantic boss.
Mesmer: there are 2 types of illusion, the clones do no damage, but they look exactly like you, good for confuse players and tank for you, easily spawn. The phantasm is the one that hit hard, big damage dealer if you trait right, could be lethal in pve and pvp if ignored. I never have problem with PVE as mesmer, i can kill really much everything couple levels above me or even raid event boss. As long as my illusions out number the boss, he can’t touch me.
Necromancer: I have to disagree on how minions die fast. At low level 1v1 yes, but once you trait them, and they can drain enemy life, have all of them out, 5 minions + you = 6, you already start the battle out number people.
Elementalist: is the only one with no clones or minions, which is the one I’m experience right now, I’m struggle with PVE right now, hard class play for being squishy, but i heard they got lots of utility, crowd control, good trait to make up for it. So i still hope it’s good.
The real problem with the light armor professions is relatively low damage output. In “compensation” they get some great utility.
Ok…so there is a problem here. Wait you said “low damage”? are you sure? or “low defense?”
Light meaning less defense than heavy
As far as utility, everyone get the same amount of utility slot, so not sure what you mean.
SKYRIM
Yup you heard me
Gangnam Style! I mean SKYRIM STYLE!!!
For example, the tutorial boss. The best way to make Norn story more badarsh.
Not that as Magic the Gathering fan I don’t like Wurm, but it just not fit the Norse cough*
I mean “Norn Way”
Sure we have Elder Dragon but more smaller dragons would be nice.
oh yea…! i just realize that too. Cause Elementalist can already swap element, swap weapon too would be overpowered lol
That’s suck….I would like a long range weapon and melee range for different situation.
The fact that you are ranged is the payoff for weaker armor. Warriors get torn to pieces quite often as they always need to be in range.
I’m really sure Warrior and Guardian can be range too if you know what i mean. The beauty of this game.
Yeah I die like 100x more on my warrior/thief than I do on my mesmer….melee classes just get completely trashed in this game.
O_O how? why?
isn’t Heavy Armor = more defense?
Yes, casters, those that wear light armor (necro, elementalist, mesmer)
Honest question
What good about them to trade for taking more damage cause of little defense armor.
I’m level 14 and still couldn’t swap weapon. Elementalist to be exact.
In fact, my 2nd weapon slot is not even there.
Which is odd, most other race i should get weapon swap by now, is this a bug?
My thief sylvari can swap just fine, and my human elementalist can swap also.
It’s the depend on what you mean by “grind”
If grind = end game, nothing better to do, then tell me something i don’t know. It’s the plague of all MMO, even the mighty World of Warcraft. But what can you do? It’s faster to enjoy than time to make.
If grind = to level up progress, no.
PVP? isn’t WOW and WAR have the same problem?
(edited by baalblade.8465)
Which is what i did, I right click on my item in my bag, nugget to be exact. And this screen pop up. Blank…
or Auction House.
My Trading Post screen look like this
http://s217.beta.photobucket.com/user/Duke_winter_maul/media/gw002.jpg.html
Blank screen.
at first i thought the item cannot be sold, but then it happens to all my items.
Does anyone know what’s wrong here? is it because I don’t have the special edition?
This game world is so big it makes World of Warcraft map look like a joke.
It would be nice if we can get some mount to help us travel around.
Especially with so much things to explore.
I would willing to buy one too, if they have it.
The extra bag slot
Is it for all characters like guild? or only the one you buy for?
End game content is always the plague of all MMORPG, the moment you reach end game. That’s it, the speed for players (especially those with no life) vs. the speed it take to make the contents is drastically different.
My recommendation, try out new classes, cause I doubt you ever max level of every single existed class.
As for “couldn’t find dungeon party” another plague of MMO. I was hoping GW2 would do what DC online did, add a matching queue (something like League of Legends). Or maybe like GW1, where you form your own party.
WOW couldn’t do anything to avoid it either. But hey, if you bore with GW2, you welcome to go back to WOW, if you don’t mind the subscription.
Does anyone know what happen to the instant teleport to Heart of the Mists?
You know, when you open your hero screen in PVP tab.
Now the tab no longer there.
Uh………..no….. ;p you not answering my question.
But thanks for feedback, I kind of feel that way to. Kind of fun though
1) What is the base stat of these wolf/bear/raven/leopard transformation? precision? power? toughness?
2) How does the stat scale when you transform? does it scale on your character stat? by how much?
3) If 2 is true, Mage Werebear weaker than Warrior Werebear?
I see, so i guess it’s pointless to stack vitality then
Hello all, awesome game, great class. Been playing Elementalist until I saw what Mesmer can do, it looks so fun that i have to start play Mesmer.
What question me is: "Do Mesmer Illusions (clone/phantasm) scale on Mesmer’s defense and health? what about other like power or crit?
