I wanted to comment on the season and the players’ profile, which has changed in recent years. This season is in a great in terms of competition, I started in T2 Gold and I’m coming to a T2 Platinum with a good winrate, I have not played many games yet, I’m expecting a bigger slack in January.

The point is, one of the comments I wanted to give about a placement, I believe it to be unbalanced in favor of the older players that farmed winrate with team queue. People with 8/2 starting in the Gold division and others in Platinum. Then Anet has to make an adjustment on the placement for next season so there is no abuse of the players and force them to play games and not sit at the top. One problem is, if you don’t get a good rating this season the next one placement will be based in your last season, like overwatch.

This game, yes, can be carried, by a good player … if you want to progress in the leaderboard you have to win 1v2 or at least not die. Don’t lie to yourselves.
This leads to another comment. People nowadays don’t want to get good they want to talk kitten on the system, builds and team mates. My experience from the first year of the game was get stomped a lot of times by teams like Paradigm in ranked. This didnt make me sad, I liked all the time to play vs teams and pros, because its a chance to me get good. And I still fill like that when I get them in opposite side, I want to kick their kitten. It’s a long curve of learn but after some years/games you’ll start to be in the same level as other pro players.

Another point is Duo queue with two good players, this makes carry games to much easy.
I would like to remove the duo queue for next season because we do not have team queue now, so we do not need the duo queue. Although every player from the pro scene knows each other and can join a TS to communicate better.

So in resume:
- People need that competitive feeling to learn play versus good players.
- Anet need to work in the placement and make players play games to set the real rating.
- Remove Duo Queue

Poor decision for PvP. Chill would be a lot better to help with the combos.

Slow gives more dmg than Chill in Defiance Bar, this is why I think they chose it in my opinion.

The solution.
Daze for PVE, Chill for PvP.
Cripple we can do with ToF and trait.

Deflecting Shot is better using in combo with ToF and SoJ or you will lose DPS.
Daze in ToF helps a lot get a Ress or a Stomp.

As for Dragonhunter, we’re seeing a disproportionate amount of play across all skill levels. We’re mostly happy with their damage output, and have decided to instead shave some of their utility.

  • Piercing Light: This trait no longer causes traps to daze enemies and will instead inflict the Slow condition on enemies for 1.5 seconds on the initial ‘trigger’ of a trap.

First concept of Dragon Hunter was about Crowd Control. If you gonna remove the daze from Piercing Light, why not add only 1 daze at Test of Faith, I think its a viable option to us.. We’ll still need at least 1 fast CC to interrupt fast casting skills.

You mean like DH f1? Shield 5? Dragon Maw?

Spear of Justice is not fast to interrupt 1/4, 1/2 casting skills. Mostly will be used in the combo with ToF.
Shield is not used with longbow build.
Dragon Maw is for low tiers.

I advise you not to use snap ground. You will not improve your PvP gameplay. And you see a lot of potential lost in some situations.

But if you want to keep using it, instead of using your keybind, you can click on the skill and it will cast on you, and not in your enemy.

Merciful Intervention: The recharge time of this ability has been reduced from 50 seconds to 40 seconds. Base healing power has been increased by 20%. Healing-power contribution has been increased by 83%.
Signet of Courage: The casting time of this ability has been reduced from 4.25 seconds to 3.25 seconds.

Useless changes.
Cleansing Flame has to remove conditions from user.
Merciful Intervention, useless skill with that ally in targeted area requirement, we all know this.
Signet of Courage: Jesus! need to reduce the healing interval and can be casting while you run. This is the most easy skill to interrupt in the game.

This is my humble perspective of what I would like to PvP scene.

1. Seasons will be annual.

2. Pipe Range per division increased

3. You can lose divisions, tiers and pipes in all divisions.

4. No class stacking ( Good topic from Saiyan https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Ranked-Following-Tournament-Ruling/first#post6349049 )
This will improve the team balance, and players will adept their class to the match using another builds to fill roles, this will create diversity.

5. Top 100 Leaderboard using class win rate. I think its the best thing in PvP games, but it cant be grinded.

This game is about 5v5.
Guardian is fine and he loses position to another classes in competitive.
Stop send your salt in us and send your salt to the matchmaking stacking.

This is happening to me to blackjack. I didn’t have time to play this season..

All the matchs I’m trying to pull 1v2 1v3 to me to get an advantage to my team in other nodes and carry the match, kiting like a god for nothing.

System is putting me with people that cant win fights in advantage.

Again, Average of 6 DH in high diamond is telling of how strong this class is,

I’m not IN a pro league. I’m playing the game that Anet has devised for you and me. Not pro gamers. Those guys are all in a team and spend their lives playing this game. I’m just ranking and in the world of ranking (not the world of pro play), DH are the strongest most useful profession and is telling just by the sheer number of players playing DH in high Diamond and Legendary.

if you are not pro, your opinion for balance is = 0, casual players know nothing.
dh overpower is only a hype from forum, how much more you cry here, more the noobs will try to use it in ranked games.

Your warrior did a bad rotation making your team fail in a outnumbered battle.
But you failed again too when you left your fight to go to a lost battle in mid, you should finish home battle and get 15s advantage in the eng (because eng was 20% health), while your team mates regroup in spawn.

Why doesn’t it count? Mighty Blow is casting while JI is used, the combo still works.

Before you could use JI in the end of MB cast, making it more instant when you arrive the enemy.

For me this nerf only made a counter play for it.

Do you save Dragon Maw for when you’re getting focused or when players are in downed state?

A big thing to note is what you said – difficult to face builds 1v1 – I’ve always saw Guardian/DH has a supplemental class that when untouched, can turn the tides of a fight.

Dragon Maw is a skill like MOA, you never can miss it, its decisive. I like to use it when:
- I know enemy lost all stun breakers, low endurance, possibly in the end of 1v1 in a node, trap the enemy and cleave with hammer auto and might blow, try to use it when enemie is not waiting for it and is attacking you.
- When its a 3v3 fight, one enemy is downed, you cant let enemy team ress, JI + ring of warding and dragon maw. Your team can kill 3 with this easy. 2 circles of wall inside of each other trapping.
- JI + Dragon Maw + dps combo vs non brain players in situation that they are not waiting for it.

And you are right, DH is a game changer when he is not focused and your enemy team dont know how to kite/reset. You should come as +1 , call the target.. JI for the combos (like a thief). Sometimes you can kill 3 with your damage.
Using dragon maw you lose a lot of sustain but you compensate it killing enemies more fast, sometimes they cant touch you.

I play Hammer/Bow from the first day of HoT, all the 2 last seasons I dint have problem and I could carry almost all team fights, I use in Academy Gaming tournaments too, here its more difficult to face some meta builds in 1v1 situation, because of the players skill level, you should engage fights only to kill and cleave.

But Hammer without JI… I can say to you… You loosed all synergy.
- Ring of Warding + JI trapping for a massive cleave coordinated with your team.
- Banish Stomp JI.
- Banish contest, when you want to remove someone that is contesting a node.
- Might Blow + JI
- You cant kite asking your team a different target away from the battle to reset your status. (With sword focus this is far better)
- You are too slow to cleave a downed far away.
- You cant interrupt fast a ress/stomp.

Guardian is a class that you should be all burst or all supportive and we are slow, we cant have both, this is why we are not meta… but playing full burst at least it works very well in ranked.
Obs: I usually play with Dragon Maw, its decisive in cleave downed, zero problem in normal queues. I dont have problem with conditions.
I use sigil of speed instead of intelligence.

It should also be quite self evident that they have no idea what they are doing when it comes to the guardian and have no intention of it being decent in PvP as can be seen by the repeated nerfs to guard skills over the years which were only ever useful at low end PvP.

One of the problems is: Guardian is to much locked in his concept… while classes like engineer have access to all fields and conditions.

I voted good, Guild Wars 2 its the best competitive RPG right now in my concept.
They have all to be in the eSports and they are going in a good way. The real problem its the community that don’t support the game and the large part of people plays PvE.

Here are some statistics that I found in Gw2Efficiency over 70.000 acounts.

Only 1% of the players have around 6000 games, and we are going to the 4th year!!!
Only 10% of the players have around 60%+ win rate.

This answers many raging topics in the forum that people complaining about many things, they don’t have experience/class mechanics in the game, this demands time of training.

In my case I play PvP to improve myself, independent of the Meta, and I really feel that game is getting balanced each season after the xpac.

I only think that Anet should make more balances and don’t wait to much. This is why i voted only good.

My perspective of how balance on Guardian should go.

  • Wings of Resolve: Better synergy with Absolute Resolution, removing conditions before the leap.
  • Virtue of Corage: Better synergy with Indomitable Courage, giving instant stability.
  • “Save Yourselves!”: Add resistance to the group of boons.
  • Merciful Intervation: Remove the requirement of ally in the targeted area.
  • Sanctuary: Casting time changed to 1s.
  • Hallowed Ground: Add burn stacks to this skill.
  • Signet of Courage: Unroot player while casting. Improve the healing scale. Casting time reduced to 4s.
  • Signet of Mercy: Pulse Aegis each 30s. Remove healing power. Unroot player while casting. Cooldown reduced to 120. Casting time reduced to 3s.
  • Zealot’s Defense: Unroot player while casting.
  • Sword Wave: Remove the projectile status of this skill.
  • Orb of Wrath: Increase the damage of this skill.
  • Faithful Strike: Casting time reduced to 1/2s, hit 3 targets.
  • Protector’s Strike: Block all ranged attacks, explode in melee attacks.
  • True Shot: Increase 20% damage, increase cd.
  • Hunter’s Ward: All enemies should be struck by the ward created.
  • Cleansing Flame: Remove conditions from player and allies.
  • Symbol of Protection: Casting time reduced to 1s.
  • Wrathful Spirit: Add swiftness to this trait.
  • Shattered Aegis: Increase the scale damage coefficient with power.

NO, no pve garbage, JUST exclusive pvp skins OR black lion tickets OR money.

That is an unrealistic dream.

we arent main focus to get enough exclusive skins, and its Anet, they released hotjoin skins and a mini shinier version for 20 players….thats their “pvp exclusive infrastructure”.

Black lion tickets is never going to happen, they live from gems.

Real money is nice, but a high tier super pug isnt getting a dollar for every match win in high tier MMR.
This is not about scrim scrim scrim then win tournament.

Were talking about giving the whole game a reason “to play another pvp match”.
If in PVE you do a 5th dungeon, thats another 10gold.
If in PVP, youre #230 superpug and you win against #25 players….you get 30 silver.

If they wanna do it through leagues, fine, just make them actualy meanigfull and add around 100gold for every legendary prestige you make.
Basically gold per hour, that scales with MMR and isnt a joke to PVE.

From a player that plays exclusive PvP from the first month of this game, I think like you. PvP is to much outdate by PvE about gold farm. Tickets could give us ways to get more gold in the game. The best way now for a PvP player get gold is to win AG and get gems to transfer to gold. Anet can give more gold after legendary divisions and exclusive items by tickets too.

I totally agree with this. Continuum Split should never affect the elite. The mechanic it’s too powerful with skills and utilities. It’s make another chance to a mesmer kill you if he missed the damage output in the first moa.
Split duplicates the amount of CC that the mesmer have too with chrono’s elite and shield that makes it a pain in the kitten too.
