Serious question… Why are Mini Llamas able to be purchased from the League Vendor? They were the only thing that we could use as “Prestige” to show off our skill level, how well we did in ESL/AG tournaments, etc. So now every casual player has a llama…

It still becomes a who can grind the most – so in all it would be meaningless.
A pure who has hugest MMR too 3 may be more meaningful- if it only adjusted quickly.

Yeah it will be a farm, like all things we do in MMORPGs, its the reality.

To play in a highest competition you need to form a team of 5 and start training together for months until you be stable to get results in ESL. Many people of the scene know this is difficult to achieve… because are 5 players to compromise with a ideal.

In the otherside we have players that like to achieve merits for solo, that is more simple, depends only of you. Adding new features like titles and items that show skill is good for the game overall community and increase the base population of PVP scene, and be top 3 it’s not simple like the older leaderboard, the matchmaking is going to a good level now and legendary leaderboard have a good design.

First of all… Congrats Anet for season 2 adjusts, to much better than season 1, I think you should remove check points from divisions and add pip bonus after 4/5 win streak in the next season .

To win vs a Reaper you need to control/damage him with the longbow until he pop the DS. If he has little life force you can tank him with Shield of Courage + Light field and projectiles + smite condition. If he has a lot of life force you need to stay long range with longbow, abuse of wings of resolve and map.
After finish the DS you can change to hammer and start a cc chain until he dies.

But if you are in a bad position in a great teamfight and a Reaper is chasing you, you’ll probably die.

Dude, there is some flaws in this combo:
1) Why swap to LB before using Mighty Blow? Lost of DPS.
2) True Shot will “help” your opponent escape Ring of Warding due to Heavy Light. Defeat the purpose of trapping.

Hunter’s Ward -> Dragons Maw -> JI -> Mighty blow -> Ring of Warding -> Test of Faith -> Banish -> Auto Attack

I dont get this
1) Assuming you had trapped your opponent with Dragon Maw, why use JI? Waste of skill.
2) I’m not sure if Arena fix that but your Banish will “help” your opponent to escape Ring of Ward.

Not sure what you want to achieve, such combo dont really deal much DPS.

- Changing to Longbow with Trueshot will knockback enemie again in the TF, if you have time, if not you can use MB.
- Dragon Maw + JI in the mid cast of DM hahah from long distance bro, all JI I said is using this way.
- Ring of warding is useful to your team drop all AOE in the teamfight when you engage.

And this are only examples of combo you can do. DH have many combos for many situations, like Banish stomp + JI.

And this build is very effective in top tier because all the time Im playing with this guys.

You need the right position, know how to kite, use the map and burst in the right time when the enemies don’t have cooldowns. The role of DH is to +1 in a teamfights and change the game dealing massive burst/cleave in all enemies. You need to kill very fast to be really useful to your team.

By the way, I was only trying to give a good build to you grind, I will not lose time in forum.

There’s a good reason why we go for Absolute Resolution in TPvP. A competent Reaper will chew you up and spit you out

Symbol of Energy + Psychical Projectile remove conditions too. We can remove 3.

By the way, I won a TPvP vs you minutes ago, and you were burn guardian with 3 necros in your team. I didnt have problem with conditions.

You should like to participate in UNRANKED queues because you are facing better players that are coming from RANKED and you will learn more. Another factor is that some good teams are training and testing things these days for leagues and pro league, this is why people are facing too much pre-mades.

BUGS:
Hunter’s Verdict – When you attack it to a player in Legacy of Foefire and the enemy enter the base you can pull it through the portal.
Puncture Shot – Range more than 1200
Wings of Resolve – is affected by chill, cripple and slow.
Tooltip Shield of Courage – Without Virtues line, it doesn’t show the casting time.

FEEDBACKS:
Defender’s Dogma – this trait need a rework, it’s useless.
Hunter’s Fortification – Change to receive less damage when you have conditions. In the actual moment is useless because you have conditions all time during team fights, its not viable clean conditions to receive less damage.
Bulwark – This trait need a cool down reduction in shield of courage to be more useful.
Test of Faith – Add 1/4 casting time to avoid all this QQ in forum and game.
Merciful Intervation – This skill need to remove the ally requirement to teleport and only give the heal if you hit an ally. This will improve positioning during the battles.

Back to the subject on hand, guard needs more health (around 300 more vitality) as well as druid. If that comes from am amulet or buffs to the classes themselves it needs to be done or this game will forever be a bruiser game where everyone smashes buttons with no coordination or strategy.

^This. Guardians have this problem and 300 vit could give a better chance in the meta.

But this topic is starting to be not healthy with people attacking Five Gauge.
In the same topic we have Radioactive that likes bunker comps. Apex prime that like more team fight dps. Abjured with your builds that adapt to everything.

And me personally like to play 3 DPS in my team but unfortunately its not working now. We need to play the game.

Anet really shot themselves in the foot with these stupidly overpowered elites.
All those years of work to balance PvP, it all went down the drain in one day.
Add to that the fact we’re stuck doing pointless unranked PvP with a bunch of clueless newbs for god knows how long…
Yeah from my perspective this is the worste MMO expansion ever. They shot PvP balance and we ended up having less to do than before HoT.
I’m soooo happy I didn’t buy it.

Yes, it is extremely suspect this placement Chaith due to the Abjured gameplay. (I could be wrong.)

With more powerful bunkers we would have compositions of 1/2 bunkers and 3 full dps. I play Guardian bunker and nowadays we have less survivability without Renewed focus and low health pool (after specs), so we need to take more careful about bursts and have less capability of bunker a point, its more about team fight support.

Light’s Judgment: It could be 15s to make 50% uptime swiftness. Nice to see the cool-down reduction.
Purification: I don’t like this trap.
Dragon’s Maw: Nice update, but I need to see in practice.
Pure of Sight: Nice update.

Please rework Defender’s Dogma to something more useful.
Invert Hunter’s Fortification to give 10% dmg reduction when you have conditions. It’s really hard to don’t have conditions on you.

Judge’s Intervention: Updated this skill to prevent it from being used in midair.

This seems to be updated to prevent when you use JI while fall, but it’s affecting all our combos when you have a difference in Y axis, you need to be in the same plan with your target (any little difference makes a Not Valid Path).

Any dev can respond if this work as intended? Because for me it’s not fair to get this in small different levels of Y axis.

And we need to fight to have this back, because removed all our gameplay fun with Meditations.

I am. The Greatest. …DPS Guardian in the history of NA. As evidenced by my position on the Solo Q leaderboard, http://imgur.com/84crtuT . As we all know, both individual score within a match and leader-board standing are positively correlated with higher skill levels. In all of my wins I have garnered the highest score – except for the final win achieving rank 1, in which I was heavily focused and followed around the map.

Hey again guys, just had a chat with some of the other admins. The rule we have set in our GW2 events is mainly to circumvent EU participation in NA and vice versa, not disallow SA/Brazilian players from participating. Brazilian and other South American players should not have issues participating in future events from this point forward as “NA players” via our rules.

The problem that occurred last weekend should no longer occur in the future so long as teams have 3/5 representatives from NA/SA when they initially sign up. Apologies on my part for the problems that may have been caused by this confusion last weekend, and we hope to see you guys participating this Sunday.

Thanks, its a great step! You can be sure that this will affect the contingent of players participating in the ESL. More doors will open to us, Brazilians and our fellow friends of SA.

First of all this is my opinion and this cannot be the reality.
I see many forum topic of players raging here. But I don’t know if people ask to yourselves why Anet let conditions a bit over powered in PvP.
Okay, In my opinion Anet want to conditions to be more useful in Gw2, specially in PvE, this was hardly requested by many players to avoid the Berserker meta only and in the other hand we will have HoT releasing soon and anyone of us know what kind of mechanics Raids and new stuff will have, probably condition damage will be part of the plan of Anet. This is why we’ll not receive a balance until HoT.

But if conditions can be a thing in PvE in the new mechanics. We are affected hard in PvP/WvW. Many players want to nerf direct in the skills of classes like Elementalist and Guardian, but this will hurt in PvE probably. And in terms of 1v1 this classes can be beatable, the only problem is in conquest when you have stacking of them, if you think the 1v1 balance is wrong you dont have experience yet and out of skill. (You can cleasing in the right time, transfer conditions.. getting to much stacks is your fault.)

The best solution in my opinion is set a threshold for conditions applied to players around 6 stacks (and not only burn with have problems with confusion in WvW, bleeding can add a bit of output dmg) with this you have a time to respond it good in team fights.

Im the player that conditions are passive/progressive extra damage, and builds that cant die easy cant do damage too (like elementalist).

Now Im a Guardian currently playing burn and bunker builds for my team, I also have the experience of 3 years of pvp and I can see that burn need to be a bit more passive damage and less burst, but guys dont try to nerf skills because its not the way. I dont know if put a threshold in PvP/WvW is hard programming, but its the best solution, locking conditions to be passive damage.

Dragonhunter Changes for Next BWE!

You are now on the way Karl! Traits are more creative now!

  • Symbol of Energy: Removed the burning on impact (no other symbol has an additional effect, so this felt weird). Increased damage dealt by 10%.

Virtues:

  • Shield of Courage: The shielding effect now occurs the moment this ability starts. Lowered after-cast by 200 milliseconds. We’re also looking into a better functionality for the shield.
    Where we’re at: Currently, you block all attacks for allies within the radius, but you don’t get any feedback for it… so we’re looking to improve that. The shield also doesn’t really benefit you, other than missile blocking (which is good, but feels like it should do more, being that you’re giving up instant casts). The current idea is to block attacks from the front (within the shield you’re projecting), but be vulnerable from the back to ensure counter-play.
  • Wings of Resolve: We’re waiting to see how the current implementation plays out, being as the ability has a greatly increased healing application and has access to 3 seconds of immobilize.

Symbol of Energy – I don’t know if only +10% of damage is good.

Shield of Courage – Reflect projectiles and block melee, this will be a good change.

Wings of Resolve – Community is asking for more range, you can reduce the heal.

Now the first thing we are looking for is when you are treated with some virtue traits, the cast of the traits should be instant before the animations of the new virtues.

Dragonhunter Changes for Next BWE!

While the changes listed are the ones you’ll be seeing in the next beta weekend, we haven’t stopped making changes as we work to improve the Dragonhunter specialization. Here’s a few more changes we’ve been playing with for the longbow.

Puncture Shot: Arrow velocity is slow! We’re looking at increasing it so that it’s less strafe-able. What we’ve got it at is ~66% increase, putting it at around Hip Shot (engineer rifle) velocity. We’re also looking at the base and bounce functionality.

True Shot: To make this ability more rewarding for stopping you in place, we’re looking at further increasing the damage.

Deflecting Shot: We’re looking at increasing the damage values of this ability, so that it has a bit more impact to it.

Symbol of Energy: It’s really hard to place this in a position on allies/enemies without them being gone by the time the arrow gets there. Upping the missile velocity by ~60% and allowing it to be fired behind you.

Good changes! In my opnion Deflection Shot should block projectiles.

Virtues changes are good but Wings of Resolve need a “Evade” status while casting and possible a change in the range from 600 to 900 to be real useful.

Virtues traits need to be instant before the casting time.
Hunters fortification should add stability too.

Dulled Senses need to be knock back and knock down.
Hammer Banish need to be consider as a knock back

I dont even know which dev is in charge of Guardian, but that person has butchered our favourite class for a while now.

They absolutely butchered Guardian traits.
2 of Zeal Minor traits dont work with half our weapons.
Fiery Wrath: Nerfed by 3%.
Wrathful Spirit: Unused because it’s so bad.
Shattered Aegis: Nerfed badly, only used because the other choices are also bad.
Symbolic Avenger: Nerfed by 10%.
Healer’s Retribution: As bad as Wrathful Spirit? Wait, actually way worse.
Amplified Wrath: Nerfed with internal cooldown.
Perfect Inscriptions: Nerfed to give useless aura instead of condition removal.
Radiant Retaliation: What is this I dont even…who other than troll builds uses this?
Courageous Return: Completely ignoring that it is bugged. Does not work when you also have Indomitable Courage active. Meanwhile, Mesmer’s even tiniest bugs are being fixed.
Might of the Protector: Nerfed with internal cooldown.
Vigorous Precision: Nerfed a total of 3 times, including the nerf to Vigor itself. Admittedly, other classes also got their Vigor trait nerfed.
Selfless Daring: Nerfed to half of it’s potential just for PvP, followed by making the PvE version also halved.
Glacial Heart: Made to compete with Absolute Resolution. It’s as good as gone forever.
Battle Presence: Does not work anymore when Virtue of Resolve is on cooldown.

That’s over half of our traits that received hits with the nerf bat.

I also want to just mention our joke weapon, the Shield, icon of our class.

Then they give a horrible clown name to the Elite Specialization: Dragonhunter!
Because the Dragonhunter’s Virtues were subpar compared to the Guardian ones, they decide to make them comparably worthwhile by

But the Dragonhunter’s Virtues are still subpar even when compared to the now butchered Guardian’s Virtues.

Along with the fact that some Guardian traits do not work with Dragonhunter’s Virtues(e.g Wrath of Justice),
We also get terribly unimaginative compulsory(minor) trait: Pure of Sight.

Pure of Sight is bad design
1) I can design an elite-spec weapon that should Cleave. I then make it not Cleave. I create a minor trait just to make the weapon Cleave. There is no possible way to actually use the elite-spec weapon without Cleave(because it is minor). I filled a minor-trait-slot with something that should be baseline.

Similarly,
2) I can design a Longbow that should do X damage. I then change it to do X – 10% damage. I create a minor(mandatory) trait Pure of Sight that now makes the Longbow do 10% more damage. I just stole a minor trait by artificially creating a weaker version of the original(X damage) Longbow. (Yes, I am essentially saying that you nerfed/stole 10% damage from Dragonhunter Longbow just to make Pure of Sight trait)

This is comparable to:
Create a disease, spread it in the world, create the cure, make everyone pay $50 for the cure. You are now a millionaire.
Create a problem(nerf) with the elite-spec weapon. Design a minor trait(that everyone must take) to fix(un-nerf) the problem. You now have 1 less minor trait to design…
You get the gist of it. This is a scammer’s way of designing things.

The following things should never be on elite-spec minor traits:
Cleave, Damage Bonus, Reduced Recharge, Increased Range, Increased Number of Targets.
Because you stole from baseline of the weapon/skills to make those traits.

P.S: If these were major traits, then that would not be a problem, because players get to choose between taking the Bonus Damage or not. The fact that Pure of Sight is a minor trait means that we lost a minor trait, because they took some damage from our baseline to fill that minor trait spot instead.

I want a new dev that evaluates and balances Guardian fairly compared to other professions.
I want a new dev that doesnt just slams the nerf-hammer on half of our traits.
I want a new dev that makes the Dragonhunter as fun as $50 worth.

the reason more guards play honor instead of zeal isn’t because shattered aegis’ damage is low, its because they’re playing bunker instead of medi.

Shattered Aegis : You would be surprise of it’s efficiency in PvP. It’s part of the meta right now for the medi guardian. Maybe a small buff would be nice, but it’s a good trait right now.

Healer’s Retribution : There is two role that this trait can achieve. The first is in a pve build to trigger Retribution. But right now it will never compete with RHS even if you boost it to like 20 second or something like that so you can keep Retribution uptime very high. For this trait to work in this kind of build it would need to be a master Virtue trait or a adept/master honor trait to work with a Hammer build. The second role is in WvW zerg or sPvP Bunker. Both of those just don’t use Radiance, but if you put Healer’s retribution as a adept in honor then suddently it could be a good option. So in the end, they should put it as an adept in Honor. That way it will be usefull to hammer guardian in PvE and to bunker guardian in sPvP and Frontliner in WvW.

Shattered Aegis really need a small buff in damage, i think most of the Guardians like more play Honor instead of Zeal in conquest.

Healer’s Retribution concept by arena net i think its to have synergy with Retribution and Radiant Retaliation so more uptime of retaliation will be good.

Hey I want to share my opinion in some stuff to help devs in the Guardian improvements.
Until now developers did a good job, now we can see a lot of different guardian’s builds than before the specialization’s update, but have some skills and traits that still need to work.

TRAITS

Zeal:
1. Wrathful Spirit: Aegis gives retaliation when it ends.
– Complete useless, I never used this trait. You should think add a extra boon to it like swiftness. So it can compete versus the other traits. Damage versus mobility.

2. Shattered Aegis: When an aegis you applied blocks an attack, it damages nearby foes.
– This trait have potential but the damage is not good to be as master trait. Base damage in wiki is 631 (1.0)? but in the game its not. Without power its 266. Enemies can remove your aegis from long range easy so it needs a good damage to work better as a master trait.

3. Symbolic Avenger: You deal more damage to enemies standing in your symbols.
– In Pvp at least, this trait should be 20% damage. Its to easy to kite guardian symbols.

4. Expeditious Spirit:
– Add again the damage modifier for Spirit Weapons.

Radiance:
1. Healer’s Retribution: Gain retaliation when using a heal skill.
– At least 10s of retaliation.

Valor:
1. Might of Protector: Gain might when you block attacks.
– Remove internal cd again and only 1 might per hit. Enemies should pay to keep attacking us in block.

2. Stalwart Defender: Gain additional toughness while wielding a shield. Shield ability recharge is reduced.
– Add shield skills gives weakness.

3. Retaliatory Subconscious: Gain retaliation and aegis when stunned, dazed, knocked back, pulled, knocked down, sunk, floated, launched, taunted or inflicted with fear.
– Retaliation need to be at least 5s.

WEAPONS:

1. Shield:
– Skill 4 add knock back too.
– Skill 5 should scale better with healing power. 1,300 (0.2)? change to 0.5.

2. Torch:
– Skill 5 should remove conditions to yourself too.

3. Mace:
– Skill 1 sequence should remove a bit of casting time.

UTILITIES

1. Merciful Intervention
– “If no ally is present in the targeted area, this ability will not shadow step.” Remove this.

2. Hallowed Ground
– Add 1 more stack of stability.

3. Signet of Courage:
– Cast time turn it to 3 1/2.
– Passive heal scale more with healing power.
