sigh From what I understand people sit in CoF killing endlessly spawning lvl 80 mobs. So much fun….
Silverwastes is good. Did the events twice yesterday and got quite a bit of XP. And a lot of loot.
Dang. I was hoping for more diversity then just Silverwastes for not so grindy Mastery experience.
Maybe I’ll try CoF too though. Even though I’m not a huge fan of dungeons. Exspecially if that’s how people are doing it the way you describe.

I bought the regular edition and qualified for the extra slot.
It says that unless you pre-ordered back in July, you won’t get your new slot right away. I did get my new slot about 2 weeks after my order.
Hope this helps.
I pre-ordered HoT myself about 3 weeks ago and I did already recieve my free character slot.
Can’t recall exactly when I got it, but I want to say it was probably at least a week ago. I was thinking it wouldn’t be until after HoT lauch that I get it, but nope. Which is pretty cool.
Hope this helps you some.
Can u guys rank them according to the level of awesomeness and fun
For me, in order of awesomeness:
1. Revenant
2. Reaper
Haven’t gotten to try Druid yet.
I’m thinking you didn’t play with the traits then. I found myself nigh unkillable as a reaver… snip
I would say it depends greatly on what you’re idea of fun is. I didn’t play Reaver nor Druid… snip
Don’t get why you brought Firefly up at all, but okkkaaayyy…
And to each his own. I did find Reaver to be a lot of fun. Not my fault that you didn’t. shrugs
Guys guys guys… wow. Right over your heads! Please do not criticize something you do not get, especially if you’re the one that’s at fault.
REAVERS are men driven crazy that live at the edges of the border planets in the show Firefly. And no, they are not awesome. They will kitten you to death, eat your flesh, and sew your skin into their clothing. And if you’re really really lucky, they’ll do it in that order.
REAPERS are the elite profession you’re looking for in Guild Wars 2.
Nice job.
The pun isn’t funny if it has to be explained…
It’s Reaper btw, not Reaver. That’s your Firefly reference.I enjoyed the Reaver play-style… snip
I’m glad you two get it at least. =P
Ahh, I get it now. Sorry your pun/joke back fired on me. Didn’t realize I said “Reaver”, instead of Reaper in my first post. I was in a hurry. Plus, in my defence I’ve only seen the Firefly movie, Serenity. And that was quite a while ago.
But DO think Reapers and Reavers in the Firefly stories are both awesome. Yeah I’d hate to ever meet a Reaver, but in an evil twisted and creative way, pretty kitten cool. But that’s one of the reasons I love Necros too. ><
As for the Revanant. I found the Revanant to be lots of fun and easy to use, yet hard to master. It’s rather different then a Reaper. Lots of mobility. Like skills that let you bounce out of combat range, if your getting hit too hard and other skills that let you jump right back in for surprise attacks when your ready.
Really this class is like a jack of all trades class, that happens to lean toward the tank side. Revs, like Reapers, have have life steal heals, ally heals, ally buffs, I mean really lots of support skills, torment skills, a great haste skill, and they can shadow step like a thief. One of me fav skills is sword skill 3. It makes you shadow step and attack all enemies around you really fast. It’s the same skill Rytlok uses in one of the earlier promo trailers for HoT.
You also get a good deal of condition removal skills and a powerful AoE that lasts for quite a while and by the time if stops, it’s already off cool down to be used again. My 2 fav weapon sets are staff and dual swords.
Swords give you 2 shadow stepping skills, 2 vulnerability skills, a chill, and even a nice block skill. Very fun to use. While staff on a Rev reminds me of a Monk with a staff. Also very cool and lots of fun. Like a Monk should be, Rev staff has a heal that heals allies and lots of control skills. Like blind, knock back, and a daze skill. So lots of enemy control. it’s animations are great too, again, very monk like. The hammer is nice for range attacks. Hammer skill 3 lets you leap threw the mists to an enemy and pull them to where you were last at. Pretty darn cool and good for crowd control.
As for the other weapon sets. I can see where they would be useful, but they just didn’t feel as fun to me as the others. But that’s just me.
Now what really separates the Rev from the other professions, is their new Legendary stance system. It gives the ability to have more then 1 utility set of skills and 2 heals that you can switch between using the profession skill 1 key. It’s very much like switching between your 2 weapon sets on the fly. I think this is what will make Revanants most hard to master. Now you have 2 rows of skill keys you can switch in and out, instead of just 1 in combat. With 5 different utility sets and heals to choose from.
A lot of switching and diversity to keep up with. But it’s going to be interesting to see all the crazy skill combinations people will come up with threw this system. It opens up another interesting window as well, where like the weapon skill bar, if all your utility skills are on cool down, simply switch them out to a set all ready to go. I used this a lot with my 2 heals in big fights, making it pretty hard for me to die. Like with the big new Wyvern boss fight.
Reaver is great.
Hello fellow browncoat. Binge watched some Firefly recently, have we?
Btw, Reavers are NOT great.
Don’t get why you brought Firefly up at all, but okkkaaayyy…
And to each his own. I did find Reaver to be a lot of fun. Not my fault that you didn’t. shrugs
Reaver is great. Just takes a little practice on keeping them alive. Has lots of skills that put buffs on you and puts negitive buff on you enemies. And the more enemies around you, the more destruction you dish out. Making you a torturing power house.
Even the new heal heals you and stucks life from enemies around you. So the more around you when you heal, the more you heal. And the new Reaper transformation is so much fun, very powerful, and it looks really freakin cool.

A new mastery system is also coming with HoT. It’s basicly a new PvE endgame system. ANet opted not to raise the level cap, like other games do. But instead you can still grow your character with new abilities past level 80 threw the Mastery system.
Many of the new abilities are used to help you get around the new maps better and uncover new areas and secret hidden things threw out that you wouldn’t be able to do otherwise.
Things like hang glidding, able to use giant mushrooms that make you jump really high, and even the ability to craft precursors for the making of Legendary weapons now.
And that’s just a few of the Masteries ANet says will come with HoT. Plus more coming threw updates post release.
As well, all the old 8 classes are getting Elite specializations, utility skills, and a new weapon each, to help make them all feel new and fresh again.
This is a video recorded from the live stream on the new Legendary precursor crafting.

Great video guide, exactly what I was looking for. Thanks so much for posting it.
For some reason I didn’t even think about looking on YouTube for this. But I usually do for builds. shrugs
For anyone looking for a quick link to the build in the video, i put it together on GW2 Build Editor.
All credit for the build of coarse goes to Nike though.
Hello all.
So before I start, I only intend to use this character for open map PvE. Not dungeons. I already have a Phalanx Strength build warrior for that. So please, if you will, I’m not looking for comments on how un-meta you might think a S/S warrior might be.
I originally was looking at making an Axe/Axe build. But since the axe off hand seems to suffer from restricted dps and with the added appeal of sword bleeds and blocks, decided on s/s. Perhaps if Berserker elite specialization does end up making Axe/Axe more worth while, I’ll try it then. Using Longbow for 2nd weapon set, for the synergy between it and s/s.
Anyhow. What I’m mostly not sure about is gear type. I’ve seen many people say Sinister is best, to better utilize the condition damage from bleeds and LB fire skills.
Also some say Assassin, for how the crit bonus boosts bleed damage. And then there’s Zerker gear. As many think that a strait up power bonus of direct damage is better over all then the added condition or crit damage. For slaying your enemy as quickly as possible.
Any advice on traits, utilities, runes, and sigils would be welcomed also. I’m still not entirely sure on that stuff either.
Thanks in advance to any help on this. It will be very much appreciated.
Cool. Thanks for the response.
So you mean something like this?
Wasn’t sure on the Specialization branches I applied. Not sure on the gear stats either. Wondering if I should worry about having more crit chance or not. Maybe use Signet of Agility?
Please let me know what you think.
Hello.
Well, like the topic says, I’m looking for as good of a P/P build for PvE as I can get. If you want to throw in WvW versatility for me as well, I would be extra happy.
But yes, I am well aware that P/P builds aren’t commonly thought of as very viable in PvE at the moment. But some posts claim it is possible, if you really know what you are doing. As there are also some builds posted, but they are not complete. And that’s exactly what I’m looking for.
I really love the idea of a P/P thief and really want to play as one and haven’t given up hope. But not looking to be a kitten mess either.
I can’t claim to be a Thief class expert by any means. As I have just recently come back to GW2, after an almost 2 year hiatus. But I have been trying to play catch up on the changes to Thief since then. Treads I’ve seen have said a heavy Power build with Valkyrie armor could make a good P/P Thief. With D/D or SB for large enemy groups. But I want to know what the GW2 Thief community thinks.
Also, I would much appreciate it if you could make the build complete. Specializations, Skills, Traits, Gear, Runes, Sigils, and food. Even combos and tactics, if you’d like.
I would be very thankfully for any help anyone can give me on this. And it would make my day if you can help me with a good enough build.
Thanks so much in advance.
Even tho you say you have no more space I really would like to know if you guys still are doing this. I’m from Seafarer’s Rest and so far I’m not having any luck. If you guys could please invite me or just send me a pm to say when is going to be your next attack I would greatly apreciate it.
TKS are still raiding Tequatl every night, and every day is a success.
You can join TSS or THS that are TKS sisters. What does THS stand for and are they EU or NA?
all those guilds are EU
Actually TSS is NA.

Bump
Still looking for a good guild to beat Tequatl with. My home server is Gandara, but more then willing to guest on another.
IGN: Garidith
So I’ve been trying to down Tequatl for the last week with little luck. Partly for the Boss Achievements, but also just to beat him. In fact, the most I’ve seen his life drop is about 20%. And that was only once out of the many times I’ve raided against him.
Thus since just joining random raids doesn’t seem to be working, thought I’d try looking for a guild that’s been set on taking him down.
Whether you’ve beaten him before or still in the process of making it happen, as long as you are organized and serious about doing it, then I’m in.
I have read about 3 guides on how to fight him, so I’m rather familiar with the tactics. And if anything I’ve found this week that I’m very good at turret defence.
So if you are out there, have an opening, and looking for a dedicated player, then please count me in.
I don’t think the flapping is too bad. But I it is a little fast. And I do like the idea of controlling the flapping speed, Morrowind/Skyrim mods have these kind of features, why not this game?
What really gets me is when the wings go threw my armor when they flap down at the end of the animation.
i am still waiting for my angel’s wings
Agree. I think they would look great on a Guardian.
Same here. was just playing not too long ago. This was happening to me also 2 major updates ago. So not during Queen’s Jubilee, but the one before that.
Luckily after I logged in the next day it stopped. Hopping this will happen again, if not sooner.

Well was thinking that small patch was maybe a hot fix for the lag we’re all getting.
But sadly it wasn’t: http://t.co/wCvnWcVHpt
However, the lag is better for me at the moment. I still get a 1 second delay most the time and a good spike now and then. But at least I can play some now. Game hasn’t crashed again yet for me either. knocks on wood
Too bad my free time is almost up. Hopefully it will be fully back to normal next time I play.

Man this sucks. Had 3 hours of free time to play after work. Now that’s almost gone.
lots of people have this problem. we are still waiting for a solution. here the thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Lag-Long-Loading-and-Error-7-11-3-189-101
Oh cool, thanks for the link. And sorry about making a new post before I saw that one.
Odd though that I’m just having this problem now and others have had it got days. If it is because of the new patch.
Just tried playing again. Then crashed after about a minute.
Anyone else having this problem out there??
I’m getting crazy lag, especially during combat at the moment. I just died in game from the lag in fact and then the game crashed not a second after it happened. The game has crashed about 4 or 5 times for me in the last hour.
The game ran fine for me this morning and in fact for months now I’ve had no problems at all, aside from a few random game crashes when zone porting from time to time.
Tried restarting my computer, but that didn’t help. It’s also taking longer to log in to the game and load in characters then normal. Once logging back in after a crash the game wouldn’t log me in at all and it just froze. Used task manager to get out of that and then got as far as loading my character in when then it was stuck on the zone loading screen for a long while, but I could hear the game world and things going on around my character, then that finally went away.
So got to play for a bit after that, again fighting threw massive lag. Then maybe 10 minutes later game crashed again.
So close to hitting level 80 with my Ranger. Guys, please fix the lag. Thanks.
