Flying Cloud
… just to name a few

April 1st is coming up in a couple days… what will Anet do to us this year? Any predictions?
we need wingsuits and paragliders instead of wings in game
How about a sort feature you can purchase for inventory/bank to sort out items in order
I must give a shout out to the devs that created the HoT maps/content… simply amazing and they show that a lot of thought had gone into the actual layout of each map design, creature creation and mechanics and how they would react to player interaction/combat.
My question is: In the upcoming updates and future expansions, will there be any focus and improvements on underwater combat as this feature of the game seems to have been neglected for far too long? If there will be, can you give us any ideas as to what will be improved, what you would like to be improved in this area such as creature AI, new creatures introduced, player mechanics improved, maybe a new underwater map, how this will coincide with lore? Maybe this question has gone off in a different tangent but it was something I’ve been wanting to ask for some time.
Programmer here.
The current API only has return values, meaning it can get info sent to it by the game. In order to allow for first or third parties to push data into the game (chat/TP/crafting) requires EXTENSIVE pipeline to exist, much less be secure. It’s doable, but it’d require a ton of man power and testing before it could go live, and would nearly double the traffic on their servers. There are ways to offload it, like secondary mobile-only servers, but that incurs higher cost of development. The most likely feature would be something along the lines of a chat system, but that depends entirely on how the original was implemented- and again increases data usage.It’s a nice feature, but there’s a lot of work and cost for little monetary gain.
Maybe this is where the GW2 players can show their talents. I know there are many programmers out there that could come up with some form of app/addon that could possibly be shown to the Anet Dev’s, maybe open a thread in here solely for third-party apps that could possibly be applied to the game in some form. The Dev’s could then test each app and make a decision whether to try it or not.
With the upcoming expansion looming I don’t think this would happen at any time till maybe after the HoT expansion is here. But yes that would be a good idea. What I really would like to see now that LA is rebuilt is a retaliated battle by the Mordrem on LA. And now that LA is better equipped to handle such a battle this would be so epic where it’ll take every person to help save LA again. I know Anet did this once before but the lag was so horrendous. Now they can learn from that and impliment this much better.
I used to have the same problem… constant game crashes at teq or any highly-populated world event. But I was also running the game on Ultra settings. Once I changed my graphic settings to auto-detect I haven’t had any crashes since then.
This is the internet… it’s an MMO not real life. Sure you’re gonna get trolls in game that’s part and parcel to anything online, not that I condone it that is. No one should be subjected to any form of trolling. But if it happens to you the worst thing you could possibly do is reply back. That just adds fuel to the fire and the troll is just gonna keep going and going and going. Ignore them if possible. If that doesn’t work then the next best thing is what others have mentioned… take screenshots or record it. Get as much information on the troller, then send a report to Anet support.
But in the end it’s only a game. Don’t take it to heart. It’s not real life.
A “Permanent Hairstyle Contract” from the BL chests a few months ago. At that time it was worth over 2k gold but since then its dropped considerably. I’ve had precursors forged from the toilet but nothing compared to the price of the hairstyle contract.
My human character has never left DR, he leveled exclusively through tomes, wvw, or something else. Now he’s 80 and I want to do higher level stuff, like Shatterer.
See that’s where your problem is. If you had have levelled your toon how it should have been levelled you would have most probably opened the waypoints for higher level content. But since you took the easy path to lvl 80 then I guess you have to start running to open up these waypoints. I really don’t know why you’re complaining though, you levelled up faster than normal, just a little more time out of your very busy schedule to open waypoints won’t hurt you.
Okay so the other day I was playing when I was super tired and for some reason this came to my head. Disclaimer, it is VERY stupid, lame and cheesy so there I said it as even I think it is lol, ps I am no joke maker in general either. With all that said here goes:
So a Norn and an Asura walk into a bar. The Norn says “say hello to my little friend”.
Be funny as hell if the Norn’s name was Tony Montana lmao
Why did the 2nd Skritt fall out of the tree?
He thought it was a game
Why did the Skritt fall out of the tree?
Because he was dead
It seems Anet are more focussed on land-based combat more than underwater combat. Underwater combat seems like it was implemented into the game but was only half finished and not much forethought was done to it, only added as an extra mechanic to the game.
I love underwater combat. But nothing ingame lures me to go underwater and battle mobs apart from when I need to kill mobs to achieve my daily quota for event completions and completing maps. Something needs to be done to attract more to enjoy underwater combat.
Hopefully Anet are already addressing this problem and looking towards the future of underwater combat. Here are a list of my suggestions to improve on the current underwater combat we have ingame:
(Sorry if these have already been mentioned in previous posts)
1. Water-based Utility Skills/Elite Skills
2. More underwater weapons or land-based weapons that also have an underwater mechanic to them as well.
3. An incentive for players to participate in underwater combat:
Anet have got a good thing with underwater combat. It just needs improving on the current state it is. I can’t see it being deleted from game. Yet on the other hand, I hope Anet are considering something to entice more to take up underwater combat. Something needs to be done.
Hex outfit please…
I’ve noticed a lot of players RP’ng in Rata Sum maybe try there get in contact with some of them and go from there. They will either let you join in or point you in the right direction to other RP’ers or an RP guild.
I love doing world bosses and I try to do at least 1 or 2 per night religiously. However I was thinking something. Wouldn’t the boss fights feel more immersive if they reacted to what we do. For example, if we are fighting Shatterer on the right side of him as we normally do, that Shatterer actually turns towards us and attacks us instead of generically standing there while we attack his hp down till he is dead. And with Tequatl, instead of him standing there while we are in burn phase that he moves around randomly depending on what we are doing, maybe even stomping on Turrets, then maybe he picks up things and throws them at us.
Honestly what I would like to see in a World Boss Fight is more realism. I wanna see a Boss react how he would if attacked. I wanna see Tequatl retaliate back, to move around the area like he really wants to stay alive and like he’s really fighting back, maybe hearing him roar in pain midway through the battle and rallying all his strength at his final last stand towards the end of the battle.
We have gotten to the point in Boss fights that they are so predictable. It was great when Anet changed Tequatl and we all embraced the competitiveness of killing him. But world bosses need changing yet again. A level of uncertainty and randomness and realistic reactions would definitely enhance the dynamics of World Boss fights and would feel so much more immersive and entertaining. I am hoping Anet have or are considering looking into this aspect of the game.
Please leave your comments on what you would like to see changed to World Boss Events or maybe what you would like to see with World Boss Events added in the upcoming expansion…
Sort function for bank and inventory would be good
Turn map chat off… easier than getting a Guild Hall. Then you can enjoy the rest of the content GW2 has to offer without reading the nightmare-ish map chat you run into.
Rhiannon Protector Of Spirits… could be too long not sure
I think, like all bosses, all players grew into the mechanics and acted accordingly under supervision of some commanders.
I do (and am a member of the TFT guild as well) Tequila almost every evening around 20:00 EU time. We never fail.
For us NA players, after Blackgate defeated Tequatl and then other servers started to understand the mechanics of defeating him, TTS was the organized guild of the time in setting up events on various servers (before the megaserver). Nowadays the mechanics of Tequatl are so well known that defeating him has become more of a daily occurance rather than a sense of accomplishment. Maybe one day ArenaNet may change the mechanics yet again to vary it up a bit, but I would rather them focus on Shatterer or Jormag first before changing Tequatl. Fingers crossed…

Would you like some fries with that as well?
Server is up for me… maybe try reset your pc that might work
Twinspur Haven in Wayfarer
Proposal Overview
This is an idea for just the initial setup of the Guild Hall. I was trying to help promote Guild unity and co-operation with this proposal.
Goal of proposal
An initial way to set up the Guild Hall starting from the plot to the materials needed to start building stages.
Proposal Functionality
First we could start off with a basic plot of land whether it would be ingame or instanced it doesn’t matter to me.
Now, in order to build the Guild Hall, materials must be gathered to make the walls and external structure (these materials cannot be bought from The Black Lion Trading Company apart from maybe the blueprints). To get the materials from point A to point B, they must be transported by Dolyak (spawned from a tonic of some sort) to your destination. Along your travels there will be waves of thieves and mobs attacking your convoy trying to steal your materials. The amount of guild members defending the convoy and/or the amount of Dolyak’s will determine how many thieves and mobs will spawn per wave. The more members/Dolyak’s the harder it gets. This is where the guild works as a team to defend the Dolyak’s and safely get the goods to your plot. If the Dolyak’s die the materials are scattered on the ground but not entirely lost. You have a second chance to respawn another Dolyak (after a cooldown), pick up the dropped materials and continue your journey to the Guild Hall site.
During this you cannot waypoint from point to point. You must travel to map portals to get to the next map and so forth till you reach point B.
As for the Dolyak’s, they should be guided by a guild member. This way the convoy could take its own route rather than it being pre-determined routes, as pre-determined could lead you into and event that would be better off avoiding.
For smaller guilds something could be added where they can activate NPC’s such as guild mercenaries/soldiers to help defend the convoy. But to be eligible for these your guild roster must be under a certain amount or have a guild ranking system, rank 1 being the lowest to rank 4 being highest and each rank gives certain privileges/restrictions.
For example:
GUILD HALL RANKING SYSTEM
Rank 1
Roster = 1-100
Dolyaks = 4
Mercenaries = Champion
Respawn Time = TBD
Rank 2
Roster = 101-200
Dolyaks = 5
Mercenaries = Elite
Respawn Time = TBD
Rank 3
Roster = 201-300
Dolyaks = 6
Mercenaries = Veteran
Respawn Time = TBD
Rank 4
Roster = 301-400
Dolyaks = 7
Mercenaries = None
Respawn Time = N/A
Once you successfully defend your convoy and reach your destination you are then ported to your Guild Hall instance where construction can commence.
Your basic Guild Hall will start off with using basic materials such as copper or stone for the walls, wood for furniture and Hall structure, cotton for interior decorating. Then as you progress you can add higher level type materials and start to personalise your Guild Hall to how the guild likes it.
Advantages/Disadvantages:
For this to succeed you would certainly need guild unity and co-operation. Whether your guild is rank 1 or rank 4, this concept can be achievable.
If anyone can think of any disadvantages with this please let me know…
?

This has been suggested I one form or another in several threads the only way this can remotely work is. If they sold plots of in game land in the gem store unfortunately this idea and type of in game housing takes a lot of server space and they would have to pay for the added servers some how, i f you ever ran a Minecraft server then you know what I’m taking about.
This could work further down the track as more maps/lands are introduced and expanded.
Another suggestion I mentioned in another post was to use existing buildings such as buildings in Divinity’s Reach… use them as real estate. The homes themselves could be instanced, which means one door could house 50+ instanced homes. That way not only would it alleviate the problem of land grabbing for real estate on ingame maps but it would also give the players a reason to come back to the major cities and use them like they should be used.
“Better than moon boots!”
This is what I hear too. What are the norn actually saying?
EDIT: I don’t see how anything could be better than moon boots though
.
“Better than Moot Loot” or that’s what I hear… but moon boots sounds better
Environmental condition that slows down energy regeneration.
Speaking of environmental conditions I hope they do weather manipulation like severe storms, maybe an earthquake, fog, gale force winds… etc. I like what they have so far but variation is a good thing.
what about GW2 going 4k? Or has that already been done?
@ CC Danica (Community Coordinator)
Maybe you could bring this problem up in one of your live broadcasts via twitch/youtube and help us try and resolve this problem. There are a lot of disgruntled players that are just fed up with the way chat is and the fact that we have had no indication that this problem is being investigated. Many are hoping something will be implemented soon. Reassurance goes a long way.
As one of you said, they had already planned player housing before the release of the game (I dont remember where they said it but they did.) They then apparently dropped it and havent said a THING about it since from what I can tell. I would like to have individual player housing personally but…. I have some concerns:
Concerns: As yove all no doubt noticed, the game has suddenly become more populated!…. it hasnt really, its just the megaservers doing their duty. But the point here is, its lovely being able to see so many people around like in Gendarran and other areas. I’m worried that if they come out with guild halls and player housing, people will be spending less time in hub locations and more time in those instances. This could very well lead to the game feeling empty and would make me a very sad Panda.
Even if people are afking in hub cities, we can see their characters. That makes a big difference in my book than if they were afking somewhere else.I’d like to know what others think about this ^.
Just to further the afking in hub cities discussion… I thought of an idea… why don’t A-Net utilize existing buildings for real estate. For instance, lets take a look at some of our main cities, one in particular, Divinity’s Reach. If you take a look around Divinity’s Reach, nearly everywhere you turn there are buildings, in particular, houses. Now as these cities are not megaservers, can we not try to use these buildings as potential real estate? Each door is a doorway into your own personal home. This would certainly bring the major cities to life as they should be.
This way you have a choice as to city living or the country life.
Any thoughts?
agreed… make it happen A-Net
To make “non-weapon” attacks to work you would have to implement some sort of battle damage to the weapons. That way when the durability gets to a certain level, then it is temporarily discarded to hand to hand combat, similar concept to giving your character a second chance at surviving. The weapon can only be back in play after you repair it at the repair npc.
Is there any way that we can import guild logos from a .jpeg or a .png file to use ingame instead of the standard logo’s that you provide? We would like to implement the following logo as our guild logo ingame: http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff303/SRO_Good_Devil/ObeyShield_zps17b77055.png
Agreed Jay great suggestion
Anet you really need to address this problem. Today many of us went to do the Shadow Behemoth pre-events only to find we had be added to the “Queensdale Overflow” with which I didn’t even know it existed. And because of that those that were in the overflow missed out on the Shadow Behemoth event and rewards from the chest. I’m guessing that guesting has a lot to do with this problem and the anount of lag from it as well.
What probably needs to be done is the Event in overflow should coincide with the event in game. That way we can all get the event done and receive the reward. Or guesting needs to be stopped.

Ingame marriage only becomes a problem when you make it a problem. Other than that I think it’ll be a good idea. If you can see that marriage is going to be a problem for you then don’t get married. SIMPLE AS THAT!
If they do add it they would have to also add some type of embrace feature, maybe a kissing feature as well. Just a thought…
Maybe why not use some of the existing structures for housing e.g. there are a lot of buildings around Divinity’s Reach just there for show, maybe utilize those buildings as Real Estate, open up major cities as living neighborhoods. Not sure how it would be implemented but just an idea. I would surely love a place in either Divinity’s Reach or the Vigil’s Keep…. lol
(edited by cagiepoo.8162)
Not sure if this is a bug but I tried to do my next part in my storyline (Liberating Apatia… of course) and it sent me to the Vigil Keep (Gendarran Fields). Now I’m not certain if anyone else is having that problem but please fix it for others as it does get a bit annoying having to travel the wrong direction, then having to travel back to the place you should have been to begin with. It would be much appreciated Anet.
