Wish our Asuran turrents reflected our technology, not the low-tech rubble of the humans
These forums suck my will to live. Mad that it was a one time event planned at an inconvenient time, then mad the actual content is available still (I wish I could have seen the cutscene)… c’mon you guys. Its a great game, great content, just have fun.
what server are you on? maybe I can be a dedicated seller.
The bottom really dropped out of the pricing for candy corn on my server. I was contemplating hoarding, but instead sold in lots as I gained them. After the 250 I needed for my mini. Anyway, is anyone seeing the same on their servers? Anyone left holding the bag, as it were?
I wonder if the ToT bags will do same…?
the “alt” is what it finally took for me to realize what was different. Your main can just “deposit collectible” on all the drops and all your alts can make a good run at each profession. It seemed kind of hollow. But convenient, since I didn’t want to use my ore to make stuff I can’t/don’t use only to put on auction along with thousands of others. Balance would be a huge issue I suppose. Just another unique quirk for GW2. Again, not hating it, just observing.
@CHOAM, with your name I am surprised you made a economic miscue. Forget vanilla futures… the worms are the spice!
In the lower levels, where I am, it seems that every crafting profession can make what it needs. Does this change at higher tiers? There seems to be a lack of interdependence, which is so different than other MMOs I’ve played.
That along with the lack of dedicated gathering professions, it really helps you solo… but is it good for the economy in-game? Just curious, not complaining.
thanks guys! I was driving my self crazy looking
lion comes alive as an aspect of the Mad King
agreed… high quality event. anyone actually stop and look around LA? Bats hang, ghosts in air, pumpkins everywhere… love it
I have yet to see a To door I think I am in the wrong zones. But I have seen a boatload of portals… or did the doors switch over to just portals?
No one who tried it will forget, and no one who beat it will get tired of hearing someone else complain it was impossible. BTW, I have not been able to do it. Great set piece ANet, I hope you make more events that not everyone can ace. Where is the fun in “everyone gets a trophy”?
What did I learn? That these forums are a hateful, angry place…
can you buy/craft a mad moon that isn’t level 80?
Is there a chance at improvement or failure that is improved by using fine?
so do you apply them to current gear?
maybe its good ol’ economics. No one wants to pay, price drops
loved them too! It hurt to destroy them for chainsaw, but I managed to sell off some candy corn and get just enough gems to get them again! I heart the ghost!!!
Are there actual skins or are they just low level armors with good looks that are desireable to transmute? I have not seen a skin yet.
Since I only bought the chef clothes, I never really thought about this. It would be cool to transmute a set of clothes that aren’t so wacky. Seeing a chef fighting an elemental in the reactor would drag me out of my fantasy Rp world, but a pirate? Not so much. I would think this is a reasonable request… ANet?
Out of curiosity, how many feel that a 100% free market would be a good idea?
I liked it on Eve online. But it was crazy frustrating because everyone degrades into findging ways to get over on other players. I think a little management from Big Brother isn’t bad. The hard core veteran players and corporations definately called the shots but that was sort of the point.
But it was immersive to think the economy was wide open and only set by user behavior.
Hmm, I would assume the only reason the rates are so bad is because it can be brought with ingame cash. Had that not been an option and you were only allowed to buy it with real life cash the drop would be more then likely doubled.
Having 2 types of gems. 1 from Gold other from actual money would solve most problems. For spending ACTUAL money you can get a special key that quadruples the chance of receiving great items. Or a Ace card that you can turn into an item of your choice.
The reason for that is both as a thank you for supporting ANet. And as a thank you we hope you enjoy this (insert kitten item that won’t change gameplay but will still make you want to buy more keys with actual money.)
I’m afraid that a two gem system would ignite the “rich players get everything! the 1% can’t enjoy the game to its fullest!” nonsense.
I had a nice pick up group of fellow newbs, and we got wiped. Yet, I still thought it was a blast. Sometimes not being able to win everything everytime is rewarding too.
I don’t like to pay too much for in game stuff, but good options to enhance RP’ing is what makes me love a game over just liking it. I like vanity items, but I am also glad ANet established the 2 way system got changing gold to gems/gems to gold. I don’t see it as broken, but I hope the store grows.
Bowmaster, you are now and forever my Forums hero. Great post! I was really getting bummed by all the complaining around here.
ok, you made your point.
Could you now leave the forums please, so we can continue to be critical and annoying here?thanks, oh: and have fun!
Haha, now that negativity I like! Keep it snarky
anyone on Devonna’s Rest server with a guild with Midwestern players?
I’ve looked around and so much of the info seems confusing. A good faq anywhere?
Everything looks great, the mini games are fun, and I am getting a kick out of seeing the special items. As a casual player in any game I’ve ever played, I always assumed the elite stuff would always be out of my reach if not for a lucky drop. I really thought it was cool I could buy the event Shield with coin and use it for 6 hours. Loving this game, and hate to see the negativity.
Not all casuals , working folk , etc agree with the gimme now gimme all crowd.

I also agree with the original post. I love this game as is, and rather than project my expectations on it I just experience it as they intend. Loving it so far.
My big bug beef is falling into water and the pet changes into some unnamed animal in your list, not your main, and the main shows up only upon emerging. My wolf is always AWOL underwater and sometimes when I emerge his level is diminished to 4.
There are aquatic animals and terrestial.
A wolf is not aquatic, but the game will always give you an aquatic pet by defualt.
Ah Ha! Thanks! I did not realize this. It changes to some lynx or something. I appreciate the info.
Thanks guys for the info, and for being civil! I’d like to see a virtual self or something in the future, but it really isn’t that sort of game. It would be fun to show off and trade while viewing. And I don’t want to start the “player housing!” chant.
Is there a way to see my collected mini’s away from a bank?

…there is only two. Be able to walk the Mists and be impossibly gorgeous. Gretchen, I’m yours.
To those complaining about losing money from it: Welcome to economics. You took a risk and lost because of a corporate mistake, such a thing happens IRL too. :p
Agree, ever play EVE? I love open economy, even the shafting that comes with it. Makes the game alive.
Verified issue. I have to change my eagles name back to “Merica” every time I switch him out.
LOL “merica”, love it.
I think it seems like a petty thing to allow customizing a name of a pet companion (which adds to the role playing immersion for those of us who like that sort of thing) only to have the names not save, and the animal to revert. How can I pretend to be Beastmaster!?
I can’t imagine the resources needed to save names would be very large. This is akin to the armors resetting dyes every time a new piece is acquired, which would be a pain.
That being said, I wouldn’t even care (not enough to post) if the option had not been there to begin with. If that’s all the more immersion/customizable they want the pet feature to be, I’d just as soon make the pet a nameless generic animal.
