it’s faster than CoF because you get the XP from the mobs AND from doing the events .. 12-18 K Xp per events help a lot
Actually it’s not ^^
With different XP boosts you get ~2000 XP per mob in CoF and you can spawn 12 at a time every 5-10 seconds.
That’s 24k XP all 10 seconds.
Of course I can’t promise that I’m not wrong but I’d wait a bit.

There are only 5 sell offers which push the price down to 740 from 840. So if these 5 are bought the price will be over 800 again. Of course someone else could place his drop in that time but the price drop is quiet big for only 5 sell offers. The next 10 leafs only increase the price by 12g.
Hello.
Before the launch of HoT we had a nice eyefinity optimization where all important GUI elements where centered on the middle screen.
Now this optimization is gone and it isn’t really fun to play with 3 screens like that, since the chat, group and menu bar are on the left screen and the minimap and events are on the right screen.
Even during beta this was still working.
Can we get the optimization back pls?
First screenshot = now, second screenshot = beta.

I’m just confused why I have two different created dates for the same character in my database:
1 Aleen Arbor 2014-04-12T17:26:01Z
2 Aleen Arbor 2014-04-12T17:26:00Z
The first entry is a few days old the second from just now.
Shouldn’t the created date be something that does not change?
The problem is that the druid already sacrifices damage. This change is basically saying “your elite spec requires that you wear heal armour…otherwise it just doesn’t work” and that’s not fair.
It’s not like the base heal is zero and you only can heal when you are running healing power stats.
Of course you can run with some different stats and still do some healing but not as much as if you wore healing power.
And what do other upgrades like rubby orbs then? Do nothing? I think it’s okay as it is.
Druid <> Tank
One thing you can do really good is group heal and that’s what it’s made for. Seriously go in the Raid and you’ll see how freaking much heal output you have. No other class can keep up with that.
Ancestral Grace should end if the target is reached. Currently it will wait until the 1 1/4s are over which doesn’t play smooth on close distances. Also makes hitting moving targets hard.
+1
I think these the auto attack animation and how the staff is held should be overworked.
There was a post where someone lost his Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matic and Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic at first appearance but then they were in the bank.
I just noticed the same after salvaging some items with confirm dialog. I stood at my bank but am 100% sure I only clicked inside of the inventory.
After each salvage the kit got replaced inside of my inventory and then suddenly was in my bank.
Hey
Do characters have a GUID like the account does? And if yes can we get access to it via the API?
I’m saving characters in a database and give them an own new and short integer id.
To get the right id from my table I have to compare the account, character name and character created date. Without the date it could be another character if I deleted the old and created a new with the same name. A GUID would make that a lot easier.
Sincerely,
das Keks
Hi,
we have the character age at /v2/characters but can we also get the total account play time which is displayed ingame with the /age command?
Adding up the character ages is not bad but of course that will not consider deleted characters.
Yup, would be so easy to write TP bots then. I think this will never happen.
EDIT:
Well one could use some technique like CAPTCHA for every action you want to make but then there’s still a chance that this gets exploited.
Imagine there wouldn’t have been a buff. This whole discussion wouldn’t exist. “We Heal as One” is an acceptable heal skill. It heals for a decent amount, has a medium to low cooldown and is affected by all shout traits and runes.
Nevertheless I think the buff is still a good thing because it adds some possibilities to rangers which other classes have since a long time.
But as others said the nerf came a bit too fast and too hard.
I think what should happen next:
- Take another look on the skill
- Determine how powerful it was / is and how much effort the player has to put in to get that “power”
- Compare this facts to other classes
- Take some time
- Rework the skill again

Yeah I also wanted this from the point on I started playing ranger. Hope dies last…
Can we please get a boon / condition par for out pet?
This gets even more important with the druid where we can copy all the boons of the pet to ourself.
First focusing the pet to see how much might it has is really not practical mid-fight.
Well, if I compare it to the felines my jaguar uses the “Maul” skill after like 5 seconds and causes bleeding at the enemy and after 5 – 10 auto attacks it also uses “Bite”. Same for the spiders. You often see the poison fields. But the bears really seem bugged as they rarely use their 2nd skill and like never the 3rd.
Nah, that’s not the F2 skill.
For brown bear that would be “Shake It Off”.
“Defy Pain” is one of the skills "Common to the bear family ": https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Juvenile_Brown_Bear
I noticed that the bear pets of the ranger not really use their special attacks.
The second skill “bite” which gives the bear some regneration is used really seldom and the third skill “Defy Pain” isn’t used at all.
I let a bear fight a Veteran Reef Rider solo which takes some times as you can guess.
The “Bite” was only used once during that ~5 minute fight and the “Defy Pain” wasn’t used a single time.
Looks a bit broken to me.
Thanks for the information!
I think I’ll change the update frequency of my application to a little more than 5 minutes to prevent getting the same result twice.

Hi.
What’s the time resolution of:
/v2/account/wallet
/v2/account/materials
/v2/account/bank
/v2/characters
How fast will the current data be available via the endpoints and will the results be cached for a while before providing new data?
Hi!
So this question is mostly directed to Lawton Campbell.
I’m a fan of statistics and I’m wondering how heavily the API is used.
Can you see how many requests are sent to the api per hour/minute and which api endpoints are used the most?
I’m really curious about that and it would be awesome if you have those statistics and could share them.
Hey,
it would be great if the character and bank API would provide an indicator what binding the items have. Like none (0), account bound (1) or soul bound (2).
Any chance getting this fixed?
A nice thing for the inventories API would be a flag for each item’s binding.
So you could calculate how much gold you could get if you’d sell all your items. Of course that doesn’t work with account bound or soul bound items so you’d need some flag to see if its already bound the the account.
Hi,
one thing annoyes me since a long time when browsing the forums:
When I want to change the language and move my mouse to the top right corner, the cursor hovers the “Services” Link (orange mark) what opens the drop down menue of this category (red mark). This drop down covers the language buttons (yellow mark). So you have to move the cursor off the overlay and aim for the language buttons from the top.
Should be an easy thing to change.
I agree! There is absolutely no need for this change!
No one else who is bothered by that change?
Hey,
I yesterday read about the change in movement skills so that effects that change your speed like chill, cripple, swiftness or super speed no longer affect the distance of a movement skill and I have to say:
PLEASE DON’T DO THAT!
Why would you? It’s part of the game and if I chill/cripple my enemy I don’t want that he just escapes as usual, why should I chill/cripple him then?
I also time my own movement skills with swiftness to get the maximum out of it, what’s wrong with that?
Also think of an crippled warrior who can hardly walk normal because he has like a broken feet or so. But then he decides to use his great sword Sprint skill and runs his 5 km like nothing is wrong… Really?
Hey,
I noticed that the cooldown of the Superior Sigil of Air seems quite long for 3 seconds so I did some testing and it obviously still has the old cooldown form over a year ago.
Tested with 73.14% crit chance with ranger shortbow auto attack which has a quiet fast attack speed:
6.08s, 5.21s, 5.3s, 6.23s, 6.39s, 5.51s, 07.81s, 07.27s, 5.14s, 5.66s, 5.25s, 5.68s, 5.00s, 5.55s, 5.96s, 6.25s, 7.65s, 5.25s
As you see not a single trigger below 5 seconds. The Sigil of Fire which actually has 5 seconds cooldown had very similar results.
EDIT:
In fact all thee Sigil of Air have a 5 second cooldown. Just like it was before the the April 15, 2014 patch.
Seems like some developer forgot to do his work

I think many people know this situation:
You got yourself a stack of some nice bufffood and also several potions for dungeons or magic find.
Then when it comes to farming in the silver wastes or full dungeon runs you want to keep that buffs up all the time but at some point you notice that one of your buffs already ran out (sometimes it’s hard to notice if you buff bar already touches the mini map, see attachment 1) .
Think of all that DPS you lost or all the loot you missed!
I once tried to work around that problem by setting up timers but that quickly became really annoying.
It would be the easiest if you had someone who watches your buff bar all the time and tells you if one of you buffs ran out. Since my little brother declined doing this I decided to write a program for that.
How it works:
- The program periodically takes a screenshot and scans it for the buffood or utility icons.
- If an icon that you want to be reminded of is not found it will play a computer voice that tells you “No bufffood”, “No utility” or “Neither bufffood nor utility”
- For bufffood the common apple symbol and the shield symbol from the Birthday Blaster or Guild Banquet are recognized
- For utility the common wench symbol and the three Halloween utility symbols are
recognized - It does not access the game memory or gives you advantages over other players so there should be nothing to worry about

Settings:
(Attachment 3)
- The screen area to scan for icons (just drag an rectangle in the preview). Make this area small to speed up the scanning but also not too small since you may miss the icons if they reach up to the map or slip in the second row if you have conditions
- The scan interval in seconds
- Tolerance value for the color since it may differs from the exact RGB values of the image used for comparison
- Tolerance value for the percentage of pixels that have to match with the icon
- Saving all the settings from the settings dialog to a file which will be placed at the same location at the program file
Note: If the tolerance values are too low the program will probably not recognize an icon although it’s there. If the tolerance values are too high it may think it found an icon but it actually wasn’t that icon. You most likely don’t have to modify this values, only do it if you have problems with the icon recognition.
Requirements / usage hints:
- Since I wrote it in Java you need the Java Runtime Environment of Version 7 or higher. If it’s installed properly can just double click the jar file.
- It can only scan your primary monitor. So if you have multiple monitors Guild Wars 2 has to run on the primary one.
- I may not work in full screen mode. However if you have problems in full screen try to exit the full screen with [Alt]+[Enter] and go back to full screen with the same key combination (may not work tho). If it’s not working the screenshot appears all black and the program will tell you that by saying “Can’t see anything on screenshot”.
- It obviously can only work if the icons are visible. They may be covered by your inventory (attachment 4) or if you’re unlucky even by an boon popping up (attachment 5). Also there are no icons in loading screen or when you are downed or dead. So if you wonder why the program complained even if you have your buffs up you can click the “Show last screenshot” button in the settings window to see what’s wrong. If all icons are clearly visible you may have to fine tune the tolerance values.

Great thing that there is a workaround.
But there is one more thing which would be really nice if it’s fixed: The Experience Scrolls from the 1st and 2nd character anniversary don’t stack.
I got a few new Black Lion items from my achievement chest (like Bank Access Express, XP Booster, Box o’ Fun) and they say “Account Bound”. The old ones are “Account Bound on Acquire” and therefor these two items don’t stack.
Could you fix that and make them stackable again?
It’s not really a bug but: You cloned Evon Gnashblade. He is two times in Lions Arch. Once at the Canal Ward Waypoint and once in Fort Marriner.
If you order a Xunlai Electrum Ingot you get an error message and the ordering does not work but your gold is gone!
The master tailor “STITCH-3488” in Lion’s Arch near the Fort Marriner Waypoint doesn’t sell Runes of Holding.
Nothing critical but I noticed it so I thought I’ll post it here.
That matches the old Rapid Fire speed. The new speed, especially in combination with Quickening Zephyr, is indeed silly.

I don’t see any reason why they nerfed the spirits. They weren’t op at all…
I’ve done some calculations:
(Calculated for one hit which has 100% crit chance. For the average damage it would also depend on your precision because notmal hits wouldn’t deal extra damage with Sigil of Cruety)
Damage formular is:
(Weapon strength) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) * (crit coefficient) / (target’s Armor)
So for backstab (with average exotic gear):
Normal: 950 * 2500 * 2.4 * 2.2 / 2000 = 6270
Bloodlust: 950 * 2750 * 2.4 * 2.2 / 2000 = 6897
Cruety: 950 * 2500 *2.4 * 2.36 / 2000 = 6726
And the winner is: Sigil of Bloodlust
:D
Awesome
THAT’S how you evade!
You’re right, that base damage is even higher.
And yeah, Banner of Discipline, of course.
Also forgot food and Superior Sharpening Stone.
Signet of the Hunt would be nice on warrior xD
Nice idea. The bags could use some Asura technology .
(Reminds me on the ender chest in Minecraft)
I’m curious how much damage you can deal against a critter with a single hit.
May be some people here are willing to do some research and we can do some experiments
So we have to find the skill with a high base damage in combination with the highest possible damage buff via traits and skills.
Of course power and ferocity are the most importing stats.
My highest approach was with my ranger and great sword and there is still a lot of potential.
I used:
- +10% damage at full endurance
- +10% damage while flanking
- Signet of Beastmaster in combination with:
- Active Signet of the Hunt = +150% Damage on next hit
- Signet of the Wild = +25% Damage
- Frost Spirit = +10% damage
- 25 Stacks bloodlust
- Only 6 Stacks Might
All together I ended up at 1,131,895 damage against a mosquito using Maul.
May be ranger is already the best choice because of the +150% damage with Signet of the Hunt and +25% damage with Signet of the Wild.
What also could work really well is warrior with Eviscerate (Axe F1), which has a lot higher base damage.
What was missing in my approach?:
- 19 Stacks Might
- Full Ascended Berserker Equip
- Rune which focuses on Power and Ferocity
- Superior Sigil of Force
- Superior Sigil of the Night
- Banner of Strength
- likely a lot more
What can we add here and which class + traits + skills should we use?
If we want to test it we also need someone who has the required equipment.
Even if both salvage kits say they have 25% chance to get rare materials I have the feeling that the mystic kit is worse.
A few days ago I got 0 globs of ectoplasms for 11 high level rare items in a row and today again 4 times 0 ectos.
With the master’s kit I get more on average.
Have you noticed something similar?
11. is not accurate anymore

Hi,
I need to kill a few more bats for my “Bat Slayer” achievement.
Where do I find the most bats or at least a lot of them?
