We’re a handful of regular players who’ve been clearing all wings consistently for the past months – now looking for more dwarves to scavenge the basement dwell—the raid…
If you’ve done all wings, are knowledgeable about your classes but are still stuck pugging or your guild leader jumped off a cliff, keep going:

- we all sit at around 200-300 LI, so you’re expected to have knowledge of all current encounters, having beaten them multiple times (exceptions could be made, but only for players of skill and very high drive to improve quickly, so don’t push it);

- we highly value multiclassers and flexibility is expected: players who don’t use proper food/gear and consistently refuse to switch classes/traits/weapons for the benefit of the team aren’t welcome;

- you must be able to communicate on ts or at the very least listen carefully;

- you’re meant to be reliable, log in time or be proactive and warn the others of any significant delay (got skype group and some have whatsapp, ah technology!): things happen, but don’t make us wait around if you’re not gonna show up;

- for the time being, we’ll use a “first come, first served” policy. There will be a few… trial-ish runs in which we’ll hopefully find out if we like you (and you like us!) – so don’t expect to have a guaranteed spot or have flawless runs while we rebuild the core team for painless weekly clears. ’Cause screw pugs, ugh.

No one (well, only one) is a pro or a tryhard: we make mistakes (cough burning retreat cough) and kitten s (“was that my cannon?”), so no one expects you or anyone else to be perfect. Don’t wet your pants.

We raid at around 8-8.15pm CET, on tuesday, rarely in the afternoon. If there will be enough interest, some of us may be open for more runs in the weekend (I’d like low man.. a man can dream).

Currently looking for:

- 1-2 mesmers. Note: it’s our designated tank, but you don’t have to be stuck on it forever and ever (amen);
- 1something, temp/guard – condi ps also welcome;
- the cheese will be served after the cakes.

I ctrl+f the known issue tracker 20 times and I can’t find it there… are they even aware? I guess I’ll never know and no updates on the matter in sight. Not like this kills the purpose of getting those items for build testing, or at all…
Support won’t restore the blood ruby items, I take it? I don’t dare sending a ticket, considered history and all.

well i got full ascended gears, watched youtube videos how to do every boss and that attacks they got, only thing i never cared much about raids till now, then i want to make legendary backpack and for that u need salvage ascended gear ( TONS OF IT ), and raids seems best way to get them.

Dude, they’re gonna notice unless they’re all as dumb as a bag of rocks. I never ask for LI ping, but I’ve had pugs weaseling their way into the party and pretending to be experienced at said boss because they “watched a few videos” and believe me, it ain’t pretty. Unless they’re playing ps warr and everyone’s too focused on their own duty, you notice immediately they’ve never done it before, and then it’s either 2 things: we notice as soon as they get their 1st bomb/poison (if we’re lucky, they die straight away and cause no further damage to the team), we proceed to keep quiet about it and carry them through the successful kill, perhaps even with achievement (lookin’ at you, Seimur), then they leave feeling all smug and thinking they’re “experienced” and how OBVIOUSLY you don’t need LI to kill the bosses, all dem filthy elitists, bwahaha, I’m so smart and cunning, they didn’t notice!!!! or two: we fail the encounter, once or repeatedly, the morale goes to crap and I gotta pinch my nose and kick before everyone in the party ragequits (then complain about everything that comes to my attention ‘cause oh god I’m such an awful person).

Hey, it’s 50/50, right? well, more like 20/80, ‘cause you better not expect most pugs groups to be able to carry. Maaaaybe you get lucky every once in a while and nab some VG/gorse kills from a half-decent group without them noticing. That’s about it, unless you’re the luckiest jerk that ever lived on this planet.

Orrr could do like most did and work your way up from the bottom, but that isn’t as easy as getting carried, heh.

Holy kitten I’m so sick of those whiny pushover that are always waiting around for someone to teach them like we all owe them something and if you know an encounter you HAVE to teach every kittening pug that stumbles in your group else you’re a bad person, an elitist and toxic. Then they do like raid of some weeks ago, “mimimi i don’t wanna drag you down i can leave”, instead of listening to my explanations and devoting themselves to become better at max speed. So so much easier to complain and say “I can’t do it”. Jesus christ, bring your problems someplace else, not in a raid group, we’re not your therapist.
OH, and it’s also amazing when you teach them, you carry them through a clear of both wings when they themselves have never cleared them, and then they hop. kitten you. I can’t waste my and everyone else’s time every single week to teach pugs that don’t even say thank youa fter leeching seimur is wrong achiev on their very 1st matthias kill on 2nd attempt of the day. Like, jump in, 1st timer (lied to the whole raid group), die in p3, get carried, get kill, jump out. Every week i get honest firsttimers or liars that weasel their way into the team or plain baddies, and every week i brace myself and explain the mechanics over and over and over and i never kick because I feel guilty as hell, only to have them exploit us like raid mules.
It’s gonna be a very. very long time before I again explain the mechanics for half an hour and get a sore throat for no reason other than trying to be “nice” so people don’t say i’m a “toxic elitist”. Read a kittenign guide. Or maybe I say I give up only cause I?m drunk. Who knows. It’s s o hard to kick people.

I agree that your team comp is very well thought of and very min-maxed. It is a good team comp for experienced people actually and it will work wonders. However it’s not the easiest to play and has a lot of room for errors for a lot of people especially the people who have never touched a lot of harder content before.

If you have some experience in raids and don’t have a foul temper, you may wanna give this a shot. Up to this point, we’re yet to have a crying fit on ts! Doesn’t seem like too much of a deal <.< 100 for an entire raid is a little stupid. Not unfair, just stupid. It leaves players like me, the unlucky ones, with a feeling of “well, that was it? alright… /sigh”.

Like, it’s gonna take me 10-12 weeks to get my necro decked in full ascended viper’s trinkets. I don’t mind the grind, I mind the timegating. I’m not ok with the lame shards-weren’t-meant-to-be-the-main-way-to-get-things the moment when there’s only ONE way in the game to get this BiS gear. They should’ve it figured out by now: it sucks.

Well, tru dat… It’s been trash tier for 3 years and mid-top tier for less than 3 months, very likely it’s gonna get nerfed into oblivion.

You’d probably suck at engi’s difficult rotation like most players and end up pulling off a tiny fraction of the expected dps, so just go necro. It has a good build and nice tricks.

I guess I take Slothy as personal favourite in the “fun fight that hits my m-spot” category, but Matt’s first when it comes to being more engaging, with more mechanics and with surely lots of replayability in the long run – the kind of fight you just can’t do while sleeping, basically. Slothy leans a bit too much on the easy side of things to get the 1st prize.

It’s simple, really. The crysuals. The vocal lawyers for the silent masses who never hired them, the ones assuming casuals are unable to acquire a decent build, a handful of ascended pieces and beat content without the need of divine intervention. The ones that complain about this obscure category of elitist hardcores (everyone with enough brain activity to learn scripted encounters is hardcore, or something like that – after years of reading endless whine threads the complaints are all kinda molding in my head). Aaaalll of them, different race, same species. Whether it’s the spanish inquisition against whomever is in favor of meta builds or going full space troopers on the aliens enjoying the gracious presence of raids – they all keep insulting themselves and the actual casuals who don’t go ape at the introduction of such a basic thing like instanced content for organised groups.

A game wants you to improve to beat it? Well, kitten. What can I answer to that? No wonder people are falling apart over the release of raids, if there isn’t enough casual content…
