Tar—dragonhunter is something different from what we’ve been expecting of a guard – well tbf it’s just a trap ranger with blue flames and shiny particle effects but STILL, it’s supposed to feel different, right? It sucks [to me]; an elite specialisation should not [imo] mean your class gets shaken up and down and turned into something you didn’t want in the first place.
Why do you bring a guard? surely not for the cripple or the bleeding <.<
I don’t wanna play that stupid DH spec even if some math junkie says it’s 10% better, I don’t (said the brat stomping his feet), because it doesn’t feel guardian, with those kittened traps and the clunky virtues (insta casting skills are the thing I like the most in the universe, after mushroom pizzas).
The chrono is very mesmer, and strong as hell – nice bonus, but it’s not exactly the same as a regular mesmer. Same for the daredevil. A daredevil is very.. thiefy, but not quite the same.

Sure, you can say “just don’t take the trait line if you don’t like it, you dummy”. Yeah, but what if it’s better? I wanna play a guard/thief/mes, not another class with the same animations, kittenmit. Isn’t that the purpose of roles?
It’s the daily struggle of the tryhard-ish hardcore-ish elitist-ish not-entirely-sure-what-this-is I have to face every godkitten time I pick my ranger because I wanna play it and I’m like “But I can’t use sword here, I do the damage of a soldier ele… Jesus, I should roll ele”.
I.. guess you can say I’m old-fashioned and I like having foundations?

+1 to exploring new things and being a lil different, -1 to going out of the way to be different just for the sake of it and in the process screwing up a class.
Example: +1 to mesmers studying time flow and being able to discover more ways of shattering their illusions, -10000000 to mesmers waking up one day, grabbing a rifle and becoming an evasive, stealthy character with 3 dodge bars and clones giving initiative.
But this is just me. I tend to get attached to things – no, animations don’t count for what makes a class… what it is.

Ofc I’m exaggerating and skimming over the fact that you can indeed take DH traits, without having to use lb or traps. What is eating at me is the new and unbearably clunky virtues and the selfish traits. Bllleeeeeeeeeeeh. More dmg modifiers, wow. So cool. /sigh

Honestly there are soooo many QoL changes they could do— but don’t.
- tickboxes in the lfg
- an option to disable instant merge/join (would be better if they simply made it so that it’s a join request in all cases, so the lfg doesn’t get taken out immediately)
- possibility to see nicknames and acct names in the friendlist since I’m dumb and I forget the lil numbers, u.s.w.
But this is totally on top of the lfg/fl QoL changes I’d like to see.
I bet anet is busy reading the threads about legendary armor cries and bunny ears, so I seriously doubt they gonna read it. Clearly bunny ears are more important.

That feeling when you get a soldier ring and your 3 pugs (longbow warrior, d/d then died 3-4 times at shaman so swapped to p/p thief, unsure of what he was doing ele) joining at the end of the 2nd fractal get 3 ascended boxes and your partner-in-misery gets nothing.

I’ve noticed this… trend: there seems to be an underlying, denied, subdued, neurotic hate for the guardian – from the people bashing it for its presumed “easiness” (“hah, the omg-i-kitten ed-lemme-pop-aegis class! you do stuff on that? doesn’t count, it’s an easy class”), to the guys comparing it to mesmer and calling it a class for noobs or pugs (“everyone knows mesmer is so much better in a GOOD party p.s: you suck”) and then everyone trying to swap the poor guy and kick it out of every party to make room for more “offensive” classes. “Mes meta? 3 ele meta? 2 thieves meta? engi meta? rev meta?!?! GET THAT CLASS OUTTA MY SIGHT I DON’T CARE HOW”.
.. but I’m off topic. Don’t mind my paranoid ravings, I’m just self-conscious because… reasons.
The ideal situation would be to have this triad of utility/support classes as.. just that, a trinity that hopefully won’t see a clear winner in all situations.

1. partywide dps buff – fury – might – ferocity
2. proj absorption that is pretty crazy handy
This is done better than a guard, but a guard has other things. So does the mesmer. If I’ll ever step foot in a raid (doubt it at this point), I’m sure all will be extremely valid in a group situation, and it will depend heavily on the encounter IF anet does it right.
Hint: they won’t, so sure, I can see rev with that ferocity buff going in the way.

And I didn’t screen the previous part where they were like “wtf? these oneshots!??!” (the aa didn’t even oneshot my squishy thief, it’s about 7k…) and then “I see the trinity coming back to HoT! these fights so challenging”.

Two kittening attacks. This boss they kept dying from. Has. TWO. kittening. ATTACKS. And you only have to dodge ONE, the autoattack. It’s about 2 kittening seconds wind up, I’m not even joking. Half zerg was perma downed…
They can’t dodge one kittenING ATTACK and they need kittening healers to carry them and fix their messups. Trinity? yeah: dodge, don’t be an idiot, don’t afk.

Yeaahh, I guess… you could get to 100 energy and try to keep it up as long as possible, then coordinate with your min—partymates for the downtime. Anyway, I’m sure you won’t need to get to certain extremes.

Anyway, it’s like night and day from the previous beta. Just don’t forget gravedigger is a SLOW skill, even if it’s a big number. The aftercast is still there. It says 1 1/4, but I bet it isn’t any less than 1.6+ and I’m pulling it out of my kitten .
…the thing is, you can’t spam 100b or rapid fire for as long as you like at 50%

I need to try gravedigger fully buffed with quickness :/ it must be one of the hardest hitting attacks in the kitten game.

just sayin’, mr. rev has to sacrifice all of its energy regen to maintain protection, meaning you can’t do kitten but to aa. Hammer guards can do other stuff to give buffs and defensive utilities. I mean, it sure is very good, but great or very practical? Hmm. I dunno. We’ll see.
(you also have to knock all the enemies around when you can’t maintain it anymore, ghhh gs mesmer x20)

Did Arah Fullrun PuG tonight. Or atleast, I tryed to. 1hr 30 Minutes for 4+2, then I left after we managed to kill belka after a few horrible skip fails.
Best part was the thief laying a blackpowder field right inside like 10 spawned grubs from the previous fails. After p2 I leave, wishing them good luck…what happened then can be seen in the screenshots.

PS: I advertised as “no OS Lupi”, and I’m the guardian that “failed” the OS.

The irony, huh? They make a CDI and then don’t listen to anything people say.

My favourite part of pugging 1-2 slots: watch the pugs try (and fail) to do the ooze-tar skip while we 3 danced, slept, played with dyes, shared gossips and cake.

I don’t think it will be, honestly.
I expected strong boon duration and party buffs for the drood, more reliable proj control, more boons and more valuable team support, but they already gave everything cool to the revenant – and revs aren’t crippled by a pet that will be 24/7 dead in new aoe-intensive content.
It’s not even whining, I simply don’t have hope for the class anymore.
A good thing for me: rev is fun to play. So is guard, so is mes.

My fear with the “no more dungeons, only fractals” is that the majority of fractals are one, maybe two encounters, give crap rewards, and then there’s the whole RNG mess (thankfully that’s going away).

But.. the rng isn’t going away? The rng on fractal skins 1.0 is going away, yeah, but the rest will still be rng. All the new rewards will be (minus backpack). From what I’ve gathered, at least :/

“At the end of every fractal, you’ll find a lockbox in the final chest called a fractal encryption. These encryptions may give you a new Mini Professor Mew, new ascended aquatic-breather recipes, high-level crafting materials, or many other rewards.”

Not sure why everyone claims that fractals won’t be rng :/ actually, from what it says here, there will be MORE rng. Oh, and

" New ascended salvage kits will be added to BUY-4373; salvaging each type of item, like gloves or weapons, will yield different results, but all will provide a chance at the new ball of dark energy salvage item"

Like, I have to salvage ascended gear for a chance to get that, am I reading right? <.<
