Fresh new guild in Yak’s Bend server looking for new members.

We came to be after two friends got tired of stupid guild requirements like needing to use forums, obligatory guild events, or even 100% repping.

We are looking to create a casual environment that is laid back and fun, because this IS just a game after all. We hope to eventually grow into a large guild that will house all sorts of members; from those that are always on and looking for others to do stuff with, to even those just passing by until they find something more suited for their specific needs.

So far we have a guild bank filled with goodies ranging from skins, to blueprint, to upgrade components for gear, and a bunch of ideas for the future, like gold raffles. If you are interested in joining part time to help farm some influence, or interested in helping build the foundation of a newly established guild, we welcome you with open arms.

We hope to get plenty of activity in leveling alts and dungeon dwelling, but also hope to have a healthy amount of activity in PvP and WvW.

No requirements so far, except just be kind, and don’t be a kitten.

So I am pretty much as “tanky” as I need to be just by my armor alone? And thank you very much. I just noticed the amount of Vuln I could put on with Axe/Mace. and I am assuming I should probably roll shake it off for the condi removal, since the build kinda lacks in that.

I know that is sarcasm, but it really isn’t. Cookie cutter builds are lame. Any dim wad can be it, and play it. This game blows. Thanks for very little.

If anyone has any REAL suggestions and not just sarcastic comments to finding a middle ground between enjoy-ability and functionality, I am more than welcome to hear it.

In the mean time, back to the drawing board and to the websites with 101 builds on them. le Sigh

What do ya’ll think of something along the lines of Sword+Shield, Runes of Perplexity, some +Condi Gear, and Distracting Strikes.

The idea of the build was to try to stay balanced, have 100% fury and might, while supplementing with other boons.

I would love a build that uses Mace/Shield though to be honest, love the weakness and blocking that comes with it, just nothing good was popping into my head.

What would you suggest otherwise? Though keep in mind I would like to stay away from all Berserk that people keep saying, its just not fun to me. And I do not have the resourced needed for another set of armor. I used to run Shouts with Soldiers ect for WvW, that’s why my armor is what it is.

1: Add the option directly on the slot, like a pull out menu, that allows you to quickly choose between favorited weapons.

2: Be able to assign 1H weapons as main hand or off hand. This would then put some sort of visual cue to the item. You would still switch weapons normally, but it would just allow you to see them easier, and to make sure the weapon goes into the desired slot.

For example, when going from Dagger/Focus to Dagger/Dagger, I have to manually drag it because it will instead just switch my main hand dagger.

I understand how unnecessary this is, but it would just make it easier and faster = more time for fun and fighting.

The lack of constant condition application would be it’s downfall. It would be like spiking a ton of conditions, which would synergize well with the upcoming white damage, but if the enemy removes them quickly, then you would have to wait a while in order to re-apply them.

Maybe allowing Fresh Air trait to temporarily allow you to switch to any attunement, and then on swap resume the cool down, would fix this.

I think the easiest fix for conditions would be to simply move damage and CD numbers on skills across the board, and have them add conditions. Boring fix though.

The rewards for JPs are so negligible that I don’t think there is anything wrong with giving someone a free ride. Honestly, you could probably get more loot by fighting for that 1min instead of waiting for a mesmer to port you the the JP chest.

A tiny mini game that you have the option of initiating. 1 life. Once you die, the item gets deleted. Like a brick breaker, centipede, pong. Something very simple.

But the captcha seems more probable. =p

Oh, I didn’t realize it was to help the colorblind. In that case I think a simple toggle feature in the settings would be sufficient.

I like the idea. But it is too different of a gameplay change, adding an F5 skill would be too dramatic of a change. lol I just assume they want to keep their original model of f1-f4.

Also because Eles play with having so many long CD powerful attacks, I think it would be too OP. Perhaps if they increase the time on attunement changes to compensate, but then again it would throw off so many people who have their chains so embedded into their muscle memory. I personally wouldn’t like it.

How about a relatively low CD elite that puts you into an Arcane State for a certain amount of time. Your skills would become the ones you described. It would be useful even for non condition builds because the conditions would keep ticking even when the person goes back to their regular attunements.

Then they could give the arcane tree a trait that could decrease Elite spell CDs.

Or they could add a trait that would give your next X amount of spells a 100% chance to cause a condition when you change attunements. The condition would be dependant on the attunement you are going to, or coming from. This I think would play well with the reduced CD on attunement swaps from the arcane tree.

But I would not recommend giving Ele’s any conditions they don’t already have. Unless it’s confusion on Arcane skill casts. I just feel like arcane skills are like a blunt hit to the head. And would also make arcane skills more situational, instead of just a spell you use when on CD. Like a few stacks of confusion for a very short time.

I like the idea of Arcane Utilities doing more damage to targets with conditions on them. Though I feel like they are powerful enough already. I see them reducing the damage of arcane skills if they add more functionality.

WvW: Golem Mastery

I’m all for Golem Mastery, been wanting it for a while. But honestly I only like #3. I think for 1st rank a simple damage buff would be good.

Maybe a healing skill in there would be cool.

Kinetic Conversion: For Xsec convert incoming damage to health.

I think this way it doesn’t become OP by allowing people to heal parked golems easily, and it also makes it simple for good players to restrict the golems from healing by just ceasing attack. Which in either way would be beneficial to the Golem Pilot.

Maybe another rank could allow you to charge your #1 skill and cause it to be a barrage depending on the charge level. Maybe overall a full charge would give about a 10% increase in DPS. Which would give more of an incentive to NOT go afk and just auto attack with the golem.

Perma stealth in WvW

Are you joking? I ALWAYS take 30 in shadow arts to maximize my stealth and seeing a 10K+ back stab is nothing special for me. You just don’t know how to build a thief.

you dont understand …READ my post = YOU DONT DO ENOUGH DAMAGE IN STEALTH…. at most, you can caltrops/choking gas someone. still not enough damage…
if you deal damage in stealth, you break stealth…clearly you dont know thieves OR how to read.

Practice Times: Almost any time any day.
Experience: WoW, Aion, DCU. In game I am rank 20, play mostly solo.
Other (Anything else that you would like to add): I’m not a dumb@$$ or a noob. Quick learner and hate loosing. Have all classes except necro and willing to learn to play any of them better. I do mostly WvW and PvE due to not having consistently good team members, but want to do a lot more sPvP.

Solo Class Advise

Warrior because it can be a wrecking machine, you can kill VERY quick, and obv as a heavy class can be sturdy, but it doesn’t have much versatility. Few options when it comes to support.

Mesmer because it has pretty good versatility, especially with the staff. Illusions are good for creating distractions, and they are simple to play, but hard to master. And their portals can be VERY useful, especially for jumping puzzles.

Not a fan of the thief too much, I got mine to 80 and got bored. But they can do pretty good dmg, and their invisibility comes very useful for avoiding fights. I also find them to not have enough in terms of team play. For teams it is silly to not use shortbow for the combo finisher. Few weapons, but steal is pretty fun.

Guardian is always great, whenever I bring her in dungeons, it is a breeze, but in solo I feel more dmg is always good. Though you can trait them to do decent dmg, and with the right food and traits they can be a perfect balance of offence and defense.

Elementalist is my favorite. Daggers are great for solo because of all the control and dmg they have. Cantrips allow them to be extremely sturdy. You can use Elementals and Ice Bow to emulate a ranger’s playstyle. And they are always giving out a good amount of boons. Very easy to have 100% swiftness and fury. The few weapon choices might get boring quick though. Many combos are also possible.

Engineer is also very versatile and do good condition dmg. While also having a fair amount of defensive capabilities. Decent amount of combo capabilities. My only qualm is that they do not have much in terms of melee, and sometimes I feel the desire for more raw dmg.

I don’t use the signet at all. I use shelter for my melee set, and healing breeze for my ranged support set. I don’t mind giving up some healing for utility, I can deal with it.

Before I even played Guardian I fell in love with the style of its shield abilities, but after using it, meh. For my dungeon spec I run Hammer and Mace/Focus, though I would love to switch the focus with a shield.

Personally, I think I would prefer the shield if:

  1. I like that it grants protection, but I think that adding a daze or short duration aegis would fit the style more. I don’t like that is doesn’t really have an ability that I can time to time to prevent a big hit.
  1. It’s kinda unimpressive for a skill with such a long CD and dramatic animation. I would love if it was switched with Scepter #5, especially cuz it would give me a blast finisher.

Whaaaaat?! I love the hammer, it’s the only 2H I like for the guardian, I destroy with it in dungeons.

It has good damage reduction with protection and comboing for retaliation, and awesome control. I think it’s fine, it, like every other weapon, has its NICHE, and does it fantastically.
