I was in a pvp match yesterday and got stuck at the end also, I couldnt leave without being sent back in the pvp map over and over again, even with multiple characters relogged.

The patch hit soon after, I finally was able to play normally outside of pvp. Then I noticed I couldnt rejoin any ranked queue because the game says I have a match in progress ever since pre-patch of yesterday.

So I’m not stuck anymore in a pvp match but I cannot join any new match either since yesterday.

That will be some well deserved 1 AP and title there! A real show of prowess. Man after you spent more than 11k hours into this game that’s a shame and you are officially ridiculous whether you make it or not on your own.

There has been proof that there’s no MMR hell and such and that if you cant climb it cant be ALWAYS the fault of everyone else but you.

Wat? There’s been no proof whatsoever.

People as random as you (like me or other dude in the topic i linked) made it to legendary. Some made screenshots of every match, some made a stream. I even provided a breakdown of how all my matches went against all the premades I faced. People who started with new account, no-heart of thorns, fresh accounts, non fresh-accounts. You do not need to be pro esl material or be mmr gifted to climb.

Not being able to accept some things is a sociology effect, it’s easier to blame outward (MMR, mates, devs) than inward (poor performance, mates. bad build, bad knowledge, bad rotations, bad vision, etc). That’s human nature to try to prevent losing face, be it in public or not, rather than admitting being wrong, move forward and progress.

Well that’s how official forums work usually, even in PvE content, people will complain not being able to do some things and blame outward (liadri, raids, hero points in hot). Human beings staying the same overall.

MMR hell is what people make up when they cant accept the fact that they are not good enough to climb.

There’s the exact same behavior from people in any game with a division/league system when people cannot/cant progress past their own skillcap. This is no coincidence. You try hard more, you win more.

And something has to be clear, if someone loses 80% of his games, he does NOT deserve to climb until he makes drastic changes in his playstyle/mindset/way to approach the game.

You made it to diamond, meaning you’ll make it to legend eventually since you just need 51% win rate to climb basically. The closer you are to this win rate and the slower it will be (captaine obvious there but well).

Losing cant always be the fault of the others.

Malediktus I have quite some respect for you as a fellow AP hunter. But would it be too hard to admit that you might not be good enough to carry your way out of the soloQ?

There has been proof that there’s no MMR hell and such and that if you cant climb it cant be ALWAYS the fault of everyone else but you.

People who are not pro have made it solo to legend, you need the capacity of be realistic with your own games, how you play them and tryhard, be it by the fotm build/class/being able to class switch if needed. Yes, when you are solo and enemy has trio/4man or you have a trio/4man with you it may look like you have little control on the possible outcome of the game. You’ll lose some, you’ll win some, this is where you need to try hard at all time to be the determining factor and be the extra winning chance. Doing so will result in your win ratio being higher than what the matchmaking is trying to force on you (the 50% win chance matchup based on mmr or whatever this stuff is coded).

Try hard, look back on your own games, whether you lose them or win them, be realistic of what happens there, what you could have done. It’s hard for a human being, especially in a video game he’s dedicated to, to admit that you may not have been as good as you think you are in it, but once you can do that, you can work on improvements and get better. Which is somethign a lot of players on this subforum cant do.

Why is it too much? You can get into legendary under 100 total matches if you are helseth-lvl in solo/duoq. So being a bit average takes longer, it’s normal, you’re not going to maintain a win streak and breeze through everything if you are soloQing.

You dont even need to be a dedicated pvper to reach it, you have almost 2 months to make it. 200 matches in 2 months, how is that a grind ? It BECOMES a grind if you are close to 50% win rate and cant look back at your own playstyle and individual skill and if you reached a wall and cant admit : “yep, this is my actual lvl, i need to do stuff to improve and go higher”.

You are confusing elite with prestigious. The elite in this case being formed by pre made team groupies who are willing to stack specific classes and builds.

You are correct. Though I am curious to know what is bad about pre-made teams that perform well reaching the top of the ladder. When I play with friends, we perform no better than solos :P

Because premade teams performing well in a soloQ based environment is neither elite nor prestigious. There is not anything in this world that makes them look great or prestigious stomping on soloQ/duoQers. Would Argentina or Brasil look prestigious playing soccer against a group of random players from your neighborhood and stomp them hardcore ? Nope. This is why it never happens. A match that isnt played on fair ground cant look prestigious, which is why some “pros” look ridiculous being so high in ladders after 3/4/5 man-ing the ranked arena.

So here you have why it is bad, performing well in premade vs soloQ is great…for the premade but doesnt reflect anything else than (yup, we stomped people who are not on voice comm+ dont know each others as well as us and who might not have the same perfect tryhard class setup. Add to that the long queue times in legendary, you have a combo of why people get bored, leave after reaching legendary and make queue times even longer.

Premades should face premades. A trio should always face a trio, a 4man too, etc.

Good job dude, I have done the same quite recently and made a brekadown on reddit of the matches I had and the different team compositions (duo/trio/4man/5man) I had to play against during my journey. Took me 213 games total.

If you ever have the time, could be interesting to see how many true soloQ games you had in total.

In the end my only regret was not tryharding enough during emerald with a kittenty kitten venom share build I want to win with for the lolz. Made me waste quite some game there lmao. Once you tryhard you climb.

Legend division is a poor land of non-soloqers. And the higher you get into legend division the less soloQ players are active, everyone duo/trio/full premade, there’s no point playing against premades constantly at this level. People should stop being afraid of soloQing, would make faster queues, more fair matches overall too. Coming all the way down to reach the highest division and have long queue times + people who only premade is quite a turn off, no wonder queue times are endless.

More like the lack of devs that are also consistent pvpers who give a kitten about this mode. If they were into pvp much, they wouldnt allow any kind of combos of premades vs soloQers at ALL.

30k+ ap here. The daily cap was a blessing because it allowed me to focus on other aspects of the game to grab some more valuable achievements. If you are an AP hunter, you could live without the existence of the daily AP as it would give more importance and value to all other achievements. Login in and doing 3 cheap things to get +10 AP is not something to be asked for more.

So dailies are fine as they are. If you missed past events, its not your fault, but there shouldnt be some kind of compensation on the daily cap because you did not participate in those past events.

If you just recently hit the cap, my advice is learn to live without having to do this daily pointless carrot that doesnt reward you for anything really, just like all the veterans who capped the dailies leared to live without completing the daily. You can find other things in the game to enjoy now that you’ve hit the cap.

And I agree with malediktus, if tweaks are to be done to the achievement system, it should be focused on changing some of the AP amounts some achievements give, be it more, be it less.

To be honest, if you are between 0 ap and 20k AP, you have absolutely no chance of ever catching up with the people in the leaderboards, even with a limitless daily AP (but seriously, who would want that, you achieve nothing really…). Having a cap is fine, it gives a goal. Often we see people who reacher those goals (MF, Daily AP) trying to force their way to push those further instead of looking for another goal somewhere, be it a collection, or doing specific achievs for exemple.

And then there’s the kind of people like rauderi who are not even concerned by these kind of topic as he’s not even an AP huner but still wants to voice his opinion based on no experience at all.

As someone with 21k+ AP, I dont put any AP in my LFGs when I run dungeons/fractals.

But often I regret not doing so, because when a 1-2k AP dude shows up and dont know what to do, it is VERY VERY obvious. Just the same as when someone joins in when you ask for zerker gear. Or just the same as when you ask for guardian/warriors and you get rangers/engis. Ah well, the joys of the LFG tool I guess.

Anyway as everyone said, you’ll have more chance to have a guy who knows what to do in dungeons/fract at 20k ap than a dude with 1k. This is simple logic and also because people have been maybe too tolerant with unexperienced dudes who just try to sneak in an experienced run while they have no idea what to do.

The same as my dear AP hunters colleagues out there. This cap is a blessing and I dont understand why people who are not even close to hit that cap feel like complaining about something they dont even have to care about for a long, long time.

For an above average casual, even doing 10 points a day (max per daily is right now) is taking quite some time. A real casual will make less than 10 points. Anyway, thats at least 1000 days where you have to log in daily and do these achiev before hitting the cap. You do only 5 ? Well thats 2k dailies for you, quite a big lifespan already for a mmorpg nowadays. Why do people complain then ? Seriously if you are not even at 15k+ AP as of today, why all the sadness about this cap ?

This patch, with all the QoL it brings AND this daily cap, is, by far, the best update Anet has done so far.

I’am also an AP hunter (#85~EU], and this is such a relief to know this cap is coming and that its gonna put an end to this daily farm. I’ll be able to do more dungeons, more wvw and more exploration, everything is great !

And also, such a QoL update will make me want to spend more in the gemshop for sure.

And one last thing i just can’t stay silent about – as much as I respect all of your opinions – please stop kittening about the changes if you are nowhere near the cap! (and maybe might not even play the game long enough to reach it) xD

R.I.P Ewon – our plea was finally answered.

+1000. People can have opinions thats ok, but god if they are not even close to be affected by this cap, or have absolutely no idea about the stress a full daily run can give, please just accept this change as you will not even notice a single difference with your playstyle.

Just like the topic of Ewon from the old suggestions forum, non-completionnist people like some who posted here already dont understand the problem and think we, ap hunters, want to stay at the top without efforts. That is not the problem here, the suggestions that have been brought to make it better for everyone, dont even affect non-completionnists and reduce the very grindy aspect of hunting for AP. How is that affect you folks ?

It’s a simple fact that it requires way too much time to complete all. When you go for those extra achievement points, you dont have much time left to actually play contents that you would like to do. The problem of the daily gradually increased as they added more dailies, then dailies for each new living stories to complete the related meta achievements, but still, it was doable in decent amount of time. The really big troubles came with the december update and the new pvp dailies which triple/quadrupled the amount of time required to complete all the dailies related to the pvp. How is that normal to have to spend more time to do 1 full pvp daily than a monthly pvp ?

So please, dont just turn down the completionnists with simple WRONG ideas like we want to stay forever on the leaderboard or we should play even more to keep our position, that is not the problem here.

Heta you are clearly miles away from the mindset of us AP hunter as you dont seem to realize the slippery slope that the changes done to dailies since the release of the game are doing to the game.

Your full message is screaming : “I have no idea what kind of dedication AP hunting requires but I’m still going to show some opposition spirit just that some people cant be satisfied with an improvement idea that wouldnt change my ways of playing”

You talk like if you knew the amount of time those new dailies are demanding while you seem to have no clue in reality.

Those new dailies in pvp FORCE 8 ranked wins. Unless you are the pro-est carry in the entire game, this is adding at very least 8 × 10 min (roughly, and lets say its a stomp everytime which doesnt happen that often at some point, and theres still the waiting time at the beginning of each tourney on top of that). And I am not even taking in consideration the queue time. That is an absurd amount of dedication required just for the pvp daily for an AP hunter. And in reality you wont make straight 8 wins in a row.

These new AP for pvp, I believe they wont change anything for regular or hardcore pvpers since release, they couldnt care less about the AP leaderboard. For people thinking this is a good moment to climb or catch up few ranks in the leaderboards, I tell you, that is going to burn them out a hell lot and the process will still take ages. If we, AP hunters of higher ranks are already burned out of this, you should realize that people behind us are probably going to feel at least the same way if not worse.

With the current AP daily system and AP leaderboard, this is hurting the game more than it improves it. And the majority of players who are not AP hunters dont even care about these added dailies they will never ever try to complete.

I’m going to do my pvp dailies as usual in soloQ. But I’m not going to push for 5 wins everyday and I’m certainly not going for the team arena, queues times are even longer, I dont want to be forced to get into a fixed or pug team and anyway, that wouldnt even guarantee a single win.

Anet, give us a proper answer on the statut of the dailies and what are your goals by adding only more and more since release, please, it seems you have no idea what finishing ALL dailies require to do to the detriment of the rest of the game content (may i add, on top of TEMPORARY content…).

Hello there, another AP hunter. Currently sitting at the #95 EU AP leaderboards.

I am not posting on the official forum very often, in fact it’s probably my 2nd or 3rd message in there. So I think I dont consider myself part of this “vocal minority” of the forums that Lord Kuru was talking about in the previous pages (referring to the active posters of this topic) that dont represent at all the majority of the AP hunters.

And what can i say more ? I couldnt agree more with the opinion of the previous top ranked who participated in this thread. I fully agree with the opinion of Ewon or Awe on the matter.

The amount of dailies that can be done every day must be capped in some way. This is not a matter of catching up higher ranked people in the LB or keeping our nice and useless ranks. As Ewon already said, whatever people will do, they will never catch up with people there since release and were already hunting AP early on. That would require us to stop playing and them to dedicate themselves to the AP hunting task.

Almost all the ideas that have been listed down in this topic, I’m pretty sure that any veteran AP hunter thought about them at least once. Soft daily cap, hard max cap, 5 daily points then all the extra dailies give few silvers or extra karma. There are plenty of solutions to make the life of the AP hunters easier AND the non-AP hunter more rewarding.

The permanent achievements should be promoted more, not the repetitives daily ones (the permanent ones are quite repetitives also anyway). If ArenaNet wants to hook more players to get online everyday, what about adding new titles ? For completing full catgoeries of achievement for exemples. Or even add a title for completing a total of 100 full dailies if they want and then you’re done with the dailies categories once and for all.

So as Ewon said, to look forward this kind of stuff, we need to know Arenanet opinion on the way the dailies are affecting the LB and their mindset on all of that.

Premade vs Pickups in tourneys ?

To make things short, premade vs pickup ? Seriously ? And in rated matches on top of that ?

Sorry but that seems wrong to me. Either you make different queues, in a League of Legends way such as Solo/Duo queue vs solo/duoers also either you make a queue for premade only vs premade only. Mixing both is extremely wrong and absolutely crap. Cant count anymore the amount of games where my team finishes with less than 100 points vs 500 points.

I understand people want to play with their friend or their official team but for the love of pvp, different queues would be the best.

Weird half dungeon rewards

Hi, recently I noticed that one of my character is getting only half the rewards after a dungeon.

I’m going to explain the situation :

3 days ago I started to run CoF path 1 with my Ranger, got the daily reward (60 tokens, 26s and 170k exp) and then switched character. On my Engineer I completed the same path, got full rewards again. Then I took my guardian, completed it and got only 30 tokens, 88k exp and 13 silver. It’s what got my attention, why this happened ? It was the first time of the day I was doing this path with this character.
Then I took my last different character (Mesmer) out of curiosity, completed the same path again and this time I got the full rewards for this character (60 token, 170k exp and 26s).

So if anyone can help me about that, that would be nice, thanks.

Super elixir buff wasn't applied

A month ago (26 february) the patch wasnt applied also, they have put the exact same buffs in the patch of the 26 march and the buffs to the EG SE is still not applied.

I have the same problem on all my character. Ran the SAB with all my chars, everytime I got the super far view right away at the start of Zone 1. This gets very annoying as this view stays in the “normal” world and even in spvp.
