Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
I’m a casual player – and by that I mean I am someone that wants to dip into the game for an hour or two, play through a bit of a new story, explore a new part of the world that I haven’t seen before and have the hope (albeit small) that in doing so I might get that lucky drop that gives me a spectacular piece of kit or the ability to sell it to get a decent sum of gold in one go.
As of now, I am not catered for.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
My suggestion is to move all personnel involved in the consideration of new gliders onto actually delivering playable content.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
When there are so many things that players want from GW2 why do ANet waste development time on things that serve NO purpose. There was nothing wrong with the old system – nobody complained, no-one was up in arms.
Stop messing with things that don’t warrant a change and ripping people off on the gem store and give us some content – either new, or stuff that you have promised to deliver before and haven’t.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
To the OP … I’m afraid it’s going to get worse for you.
I have everything required for Nevermore … apart from the fact that I need to max out the mastery chains. To do this you need a lost of mastery points. To get those you need to do a lot of Adventures. It’s taking me an age.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
DOH!
Still seems like I have very few mastery points left to get but need more than that to max out the mastery lines.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
I used a lot of these mastery points up to get the specialisations on my characters.
I now find that I need loads more mastery points in order to buy my way to the end of the itzel, nuhoch and exalted mastery “tracks” in order to get the Gift Of The Itzel etc. to craft Nevermore.
Problem is I don’t seem to have many mastery points left to get.
Any ideas?

“Rare treasure!!”
Er … no.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Bought the same CD from Amazon twice recently by mistake – they gave me a refund and said to just keep the CD. That sort of customer service pays dividends.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Well worth the development effort I reckon …. oh … hang on.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Dunno if it means anything but numbers at our Guild Missions are certainly dwindling.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Whatever you do .. don’t expect much … it’s the only way to avoid disappointment.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Bubble glider in the gem store – you could not make this kitten up.
Got to laugh really. ANet are a joke.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Nevermore lurches from fun to mindless grind and appalling expense!!!
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
I feel this is another sad day for this game.
You promise as a full 2nd set of legendaries, advertise with them to bait people who love legendaries into buying the xpack..and now you don’t deliver…after you have taken their money.
I have no words for this that would actually get through the “kitten” filter. No legendaries, yet you manage to release Black Lion Skins and Gliders almost weekly.
It’s clear that these generate easy cash, and that cash is becoming more and more important to ArenaNet.Same with HoT.
The expansion is already rushed, systems are bugged or half in place, story is rushed out with gaps, we got 4 maps…we had to pay the full price for this…and instead of giving priority to fixing the problems we have now, you almost proudly tell us the amount of devs you have working on the “next expansion”.And then I am not even mentioning actually actively destroying content.
Destroying dungeons, killing of WvW, PvP is still a nightmare as well…Wake up Anet.
If you guys are going for the cashgrab nobody will be around to actually play the next expansion.
Such a different company since Guild Wars 1, even so much change since the start of GW2, or even pré HoT…
What happened to you people…This.
Game is NCSoft’s.
Completely agree. Some form of compensation is absolutely required for the false advertising. Hopefully ANet will sort that out themselves before things get ugly.
However, supporting GW2 right now is like supporting a failing football team – you have so much invested that you can’t let go no matter how bad things seem to get – you continue to support with blind faith that things will get better. ANet know that and will continue to take advantage of that fact and extract the maximum cash from those loyal supporters whilst delivering the minimum in return to keep stringing them along.
I appreciate your honesty but what you should have said was that there would be no more extra things added to the game that require people to pay for them until what they have already paid for has been delivered. That would have been far more honourable.

Nevermore - salvaging the Ravenswood Branch
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: enlightened.5396
At various points in the process for crafting Nevermore you are told to salvage something that it has taken considerable effort to get hold of e.g. Ravenswood Branch.
Is there a particular level of salvage kit that has to be used to do this? I’d hate to salvage it and get nothing back!!!!!
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Agreed – thank you for the update. Seems our frustration may soon be over. :-)

ANet clearly take the same view as you. Time will tell whether it is the correct stance.

You claimed I was wrong! I’m agreeing with you.
Not throwing a tantrum – just banging my head against a brick wall. Just have a look at the threads on this forum. A lot, many, quite a few, more than one, multiple, several, a handful, myriad, umpteen people are not content.

No point posting anymore – clearly I can’t quantify the “many” – it’s impossible. So I’ll just concede that because I can’t prove it then you must be right and everything must be rosy! You won’t accept that the fact that the majority of people that I talk to are not content counts for anything … I believe that my small sample can probably be extrapolated to an extent and does count for something.
We won’t agree so I’ll bow out gracefully and leave you and ANet to carry on the good work.

Make as many counter claims as you like. You are entitled to your opinion and I am stating mine based on my own views, interaction with other players in game and opinions expressed by others on this forum. I appreciate that I can only ever know what a small population of players actually think – as can you. It does however fall into your definition of “many” so I’m quite within my rights to use that word.
You’re entitled to your opinion, not your facts.
When you claim “many” people share your opinion the “I’m entitled to it” card is lost, you’re now talking for others, not just yourself, therefore a source is required for any of that to have any value.
Feel free to start using singular pronouns to avoid getting called out.If, by your own definition, many can be between 2 and 200,000 then it is a fact that many people share my opinion. Feel free not to post anymore to avoid “getting called out”.
What?
The whole “argument” rests on the “fact” that many people are displeased, I am asking for a source to understand who this “many” is and how big it is, or if it’s simply people pulling stuff out of nowhere, or assuming (big suprise) that “me + guildmates + that other guy’s friends = tons of people!”
Burden of proof lies on the one who makes the claim, not the one disputes it.
Feel free to make sense in your next post, it’d help.
You know full well that I cannot provide empirical evidence – just as you can’t either. So just accept that I know more people that are not content than those that are. I’m not constructing an “argument” I’m just stating my views.
You disagree – good for you!!
Now get off my case!!

In no way have I attempted to speak for the community as a whole. But I can reflect on what I see from the subsection of the community that I interact with. Sure .. there are some people that love the game … even in my circle of friends believe it or not. But there are plenty more that are becoming increasingly turned off by the broken content and the indifference with which their views are treated.
There are a huge number of negative threads on this forum which could be turned into a positive force for ANet if they would only respond. Even to say that something is not being looked at currently at least lets people know where they stand.

Really. Read a few more forum posts.
Lots of people saying the same thing doesn’t make a thing true. And if you took every single complaint about being ignored from this forum and compared it to the number of people who play the game, you’d find it’s an insignificant percentage, too small for anyone who knows anything about data to draw an definitive conclusion.
You believe something to be true, so you therefore find evidence for it to be true. That evidence doesn’t really exist.
Anet has talked about certain things and hasn’t talked about others.
Presumably they’ll talk about stuff when they’re ready to talk about stuff.
I’m not going to hold my breath. Anyone that can’t detect the rising sense of frustration that many players have with this game, it’s myriad of bugs and incidences of broken content and the failure of ANet to adequately engage with the players is delusional..

Whether you think he’s speaking for himself or the community is irrelevant. The OP is correct about the fact that the developers are ignoring the players. There are so many examples of that now it is indisputable.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
They are just trolling us now. An unbelievable display of ignorance and disdain for their customer. There is no reason why they couldn’t fix Howler (or make some other change to restore it to something like it was) at the same time as they made these changes (some of which I don’t see being asked for by players) to other legendaries.
You could kind of understand why something like this might be low priority at the moment given all the other stuff that they have broken in the game but when they make these other cosmetic changes you really have to wonder whether they have any idea what they are doing.
Not to mention the fact that they can’t be bothered contributing to this thread!
Log-in, take log-in reward, log-out. That’s it for me now.
Thanks for nothing ANet!
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Yes – there is none. ANet don’t give a kitten.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
People are complaining because they aren’t satisfied and because they care.
The amount of bugs in this game now is insane and the communication from ANet is very poor indeed. Hardly surprising that people aren’t satisfied.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
So many bugs in this game now. Pretty poor really.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Three ANet replies to this thread already but not a single one on the much older much longer thread regarding the now pitiful legendary that is The Howler. Depressing.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
In much the same way as I have given up on ANet ever doing us the courtesy of a reply or, even better, fixing what they broke I thought I should say an official farewell to this thread as it struggles to keep it’s head above water under the deluge of HOT bug reports. Still awestruck by ANet’s failure to acknowledge this thread.
Farewell old friend … may you one day receive your just deserts!
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
So … a response of sorts on Reddit … but nothing on their own official forum. Bizarre. PR is clearly not a strong point.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
What an appalling way to treat your customers. It’s just staggering. That no-one can muster the small amount of effort that would be required to make a reply to this thread is beyond poor … it’s a disgrace. Have a word with yourselves ArenaNet.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Scout Acan is still Scout Acan’t!
Logged out, moved zones, guested on different server – still won’t talk to me.
Probably because he’s so disappointed with my legendary Howler – also broken.
Shabby.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
And now it’s absolutely clear why this thread was moved here. Won’t be long before it’s buried by HOT bugs.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Nothing in the release notes – ignored again – no surprise. Very shabby.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Whilst I can’t log in either I feel pretty confident in telling you that Howler will look no different when I eventually do.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
You haven’t filled me with optimism to be honest.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
That’s my feeling exactly. Ignoring this topic is worse that telling us straight up that they don’t intend to fix Howler or that we need to wait or something. They can answer us that it will be fixed in the next 10-50 years and it would be better than the silence.
Let’s be honest, it wouldn’t even take them more than 5 minutes to give us a short reply. 5 minutes. “We will fix it after HoT release” , “We will fix it in 2016” or “We don’t intend to fix it” – copy/paste one if you like to make it 1 minute, ArenaNet. I bet most of us don’t expect a good one after such a long time, but staying silent is far worse.
I don’t want to get disrespectful here, but the support team of the F2P game I play right now answers specific questions not later than 1-2 weeks after players asked them. And I’ve only spent 5 Euros on that one so far, whereas my ~200 Euros on GW 1+2 feel a bit… wasted? Instead, many of my posts even get deleted for not being constructive… Yes, I know this sounds ungrateful and a bit unfair, I got to see many good things during my Guild Wars time, but the forum support and general information policy is definively not one of those.
Salt everywhere
I really have to agree with this. I’m almost more fed up with the fact that ANet don’t have the courtesy to respond to this thread than with the sorry state of Howler which is what it was about in the first place.
If you aren’t going to fix it then just say so then we can all move on.
Stunning lack of respect for their customer. Just stunning.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
New legendaries look great. Howler does not. It needs to be fixed and restored to something that looks legendary – I mean, that’s the whole point of it right?
Would it kill you to reply to this thread ANet?
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Looking forward to Halloween – at least it adds a bit of variety whatever it is.
Shame ANet aren’t as vocal on some other longstanding threads in the forum that are crying out for one of their number to respond.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Gem store boycott is futile. If we can’t get a reply on a thread in the official forum that someone has clearly noticed and taken the trouble to move from one section to another then the odd person boycotting the gem store isn’t going to get noticed. Can’t quite believe there’s still no ANet response to this thread – shabby, very shabby.
Disillusioned of Gunnar’s Hold.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Loved that mission in GW1.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
This.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Well … I logged in to post an in-game report. If you think any of those go straight to a dev. if they aren’t flagged as preventing progress in the game then you’re probably delusional.
The recent changes to The Dreamer just increase my dissatisfaction with this game these days. Why change something that no-one was complaining about and ignore all the requests to return Howler to what it was? Baffling.
GW2 is a great game but they sure don’t encourage people to play it. Still no-one has the courtesy to respond to this thread. It’s just plain rude.
Vanishing Legacy (VALE)
Quite.
I’ve seen very few posts requesting changes to The Dreamer and yet it gets one. Howler has been diluted to the point where it doesn’t deserve to be called a legendary and there are many complaints about this to which ANet fails to respond – at all.
So disappointing.
