Another NCsoft game, surprise!

I’d be willing to pay a monthly fee of say 10 dollars if it meant I would not be nickled and dimed to death. I’d say 15 dollars like almost every other mmo, but frankly the game in it’s current state is not worth that much.

Re you sure you are not a dev? you seem to have the same disdain for the customers as Anet does.

Is there a way to adjust the contrast so that the shadowed areas are not as dark?

I have seen this as well. though I have found nodes actually there even after they disappeared from the map.

Anyone that thinks bots get away with it is a fool. Also, making threads about botting doesn’t help anyone, report them and get on with something else.

Also, a dev has said you only need to report at least one, they will then check nearby potential bots as well. So report as many as you can but don’t worry if you miss any, they will still be dealt with.

It is worse now then it was when they posted the thread about doing something about it.

At this point I believe nothing they say about bots.

I agree with everything the OP said about GW2, although I do not care for comparing it to WoW as I feel WoW is a pretty crappy MMO, it was ok during the late Vanilla, and BC times, but has steadily declined into the garbage it is today.

Are you using the ingame FXAA?

Forcing ambient occlusion is causing issues with backgrounds reflecting on any surface at certain camera angles, usually when the camera is set close to the ground.

Where did you adjust the sgssaa?

You didn’t need to do much searching to find that out. How much more serious can they be with hundreds of bannings daily and taking enough care to make sure they protect the innocent?

LOL you are joking right? Anet is doing as little as possible because more bots equals more copies of the game sold. I see far more bots now then I did when they first posted that sticky.

Interesting build I may try it out. Just wish there was a dual spec or some way to save and switch to different builds to make trying new ones out easier.

The fact that you could spend 5 years on WoW already says something. The progression it offers is great and is what keeps people playing.

I cannot think of a single kitten thing to do other than WvW right now. I have full exotics, 100% map completion, and i have done all dungeons. And i have only played for 300hours so far. What the hell is 300hours compared to 5 years?

I could only make it 1 and 1/2 months into vanilla WoW before I uninstalled it and never touched it again. Rift and TOR I would guess made it less than a month, maybe a tad over.

You see, you can spend 5 years in those Raiding games. People like you can spend years in those raiding games. Some of us hate them and think those end games are complete trash. In my opinion, those “End Games” offer nothing, zero, zilch. I have been waiting on a raid-less (i.e. not boring, tedious, vomitous) AAA MMO; and I’m glad it is here.

I have been gaming since the Atari 2600 days. I understand how gaming is fun, and don’t need “rewards” constantly while I’m playing to tell me that what I am doing actually is fun. If a game is truly fun, you don’t need any of that crap. I have played Quake mods for YEARS that had zero progression. I am a real gamer, and I think GW2 is attracting people who enjoy games; while WoW attracts those who are sugar addicts.

I don’t see how anyone can possibly defend the camera in this game as it currently stands, it needs more settings options, especially concerning FOV, and the ability to scroll back further for large characters.

I find the game stale and frankly boring as hell once you hit 80, leveling was fun the first time though.

I was so hyped about this game. A year ago i was checking guildwars2.com every day, waiting for more info. But now that its here… I dont want to play it. Maybe its because i already knew about everything in it before i even played it, or whatever, but i havent even logged 200 hours on this game.

Pve got too tedious and i stopped at level 30 because it wasnt fun for me, at all. PvP is better but not by much… I can only play 2 or 3 games before i have to stop playing and play other game.

Wait, one sec. You played a game for over 200 hours and you don’t like it? I can count on one hand the number of games I have spent that amount of time in. Maybe it isn’t that you don’t like it, it’s that you burnt out on it. Games I don’t like I spend 1 or 2 hours in giving it the benefit of the doubt and then I am just forced to turn them off they are so bad. I think that is more akin to what you mean or I hope it is what you mean, because 200 hours in a game you don’t like isn’t good.

The thing is that you should not get burned out after only 200 hours in an MMO. Frankly after leveling to 80 there is no real incentive to continue IMO. I tried alts, I have 2 at 80 so it’s not like I have only done it once.

I will admit that while leveling the first time the game seemed great, I was one of the ones who thought this game would have long lasting appeal, but once I was 80 I realized how very little there is to do. The leveling process is the whole game IMO unless you really, really love WvW, but it’s not worth the 2 hour queues, I have better things to do than wait in a queue.

I could grind legendary mats while waiting, but for what? a skin? no thanks, hopefully Anet reads these forums regularly and adds more to do at 80 sooner rather than later. If the game had a sub it would be hemorrhaging players.

The game will not be shutting down any time soon, it’s free once you buy it so that will keep it alive, However if the game had a sub, it would last about as long as SWToR did before going f2p for many of the same reasons.

If you want more cc with less burst the Mesmer is very good at that. I have a 80 ranger and frankly have a hard time suggesting one atm, as I find they do less damage than most other classes, if burst is what you want, and the pet AI is horrible.

Well Elementalists will give you range, and tons of burst, they tend to be difficult to play for some people though.

At the same time, all you’re really doing is providing fodder for the trolls and telling anyone with an opinion on “fixing” the game, that they have no place to speak and should be ignored.

Everything you just listed is, for one, false. Lets look at a single dungeon, the first one; you have a boss that switches between isolated ranged attacks and meleeing you; another which requires that you race to kill her own minions before she does; and of course the Lovers, which no boss fight in WoW even compares to, and it’s only one of the first.

And secondly, all of the things you have mentioned are not only inexistent in GW2, but things that any game which uses the trinity is guilty of. Why do you think WoW fully integrated the trinity system into their game? They couldn’t think creatively enough to make bosses with anything more but more damage and more HP, which pushed players to the point that one person had to take all the damage while the others dealt all the damage. One pathetic and unimaginative tank and spank strategy for every boss fight in the game.

You know what they say about opinions, and hundreds of others have posted exactly the same complaint I did about dungeons, so I’ll stick to my opinion, and you can stick to yours.

I thought Necros were weak at first too, I deleted more than 1, I gave them another go and used a AOE build that pretty much never uses the pets, but uses wells and staff skills etc and I find while the class still has tons of bugs, it is quite possibly the best farming/leveling class there is once you get some points spent, except for maybe the warrior, which is ezmode right from the start.

That last sentence is truly priceless and rich in irony. The fanboy crowd in this game is the absolute worst, most brainwashed bunch I have ever seen in any so called MMO. LOL lack skill? this game is targeted to those that lack skill, and hate the idea of having to do any real work for gear upgrades.

Ignoring the negative reviews worked out so well for SWToR didn’t it? and that game had more to do at max level.

Yes please. This forum is depressing! Rule of thumb- if you wouldn’t send it to arena at in an email, don’t post about it here. If there is 2687369 othe posts about it, don’t post it here. If arena net has already said they are working on it, don’t post it here. If it contains something about how much the game sucks and a personal statement of why you are leaving but yet you hang around to troll on the players who are actually having fun, don’t post it here. I said it before I’ll say it again, the game is designed to appeal to the people who felt left out in other MMO’s and never saw end game because they hated the idea of actually having to put any effort into getting there, WoW has realized this and made it easy to see all the content, this game took that to a new extreme.

…so only a few RP’ers use them, in a game which doesn’t even have an official RP server.

I have no idea why Anet put them in the game honestly.

People that do not want others to see their lvl 80 toons wearing crappy blue and masterwork armor also use them, so they do not feel bad about themselves, in other words exactly the type of people this game was designed to cater to.

I take real reviews over 90% of these wow adddicts any day!
and the real reviews just so happen to have insane scores for reason.

Obviously this game has some seriues issue’s that they have to fix.
Every mmo that came out however had pretty much the same rough start.

I read reviews for Hellgate London that were great reviews in both major magazines and online when it launched, that game tanked several months later because the reviews were done shortly after or right at launch based on all they had at the time, which was the “potential” the game showed for greatness.

Sadly the developers failed on delivering and living up to the potential that was there, I fear this game could be heading the same way, only time will tell.

It’s not an MMO, it’s more of a single player, co-op rpg, more akin to PSO than EQ.

Try going outside IRL, I hear you can actually feel the weather effects there, and the graphics are pretty good too.
