Hey guys, i have a beserker warrior fully equiped that i play as main character, but i would like to make a secondary set up, to have some variety when playing him.
I plan to bring this build for some PvE and WvW, Build Link.
What do you think?
A flamethrower Sylvari! Because it makes a lot of sense
Hey guys, i have a lvl 80 guardian in full Knight armour with the standart Anchor build (Anchor Build Link) and since i love PvE dungeons in this game most of the time, when i’m not runing COF, the other guardians in the group are usually using a knight/cleric build and i really think two of them aren’t really needed in a party…
So i bought a berserker set of gear and trinkets to run with a sword torch/focus greatsword build, and i was thinking about using this build: Zerker Build, or this other build with Empowering Might and Inspired Virtue…
Since my only berserker class is a Warrior (that i only use to farm CoF) i would like some tips in what to change in this build.
Thank guys and sorry for my english =)

Well i just got my ranger to lvl 80 and equiped this sweet skin on him:
-Helm: Thief starter hood
-Shoulders: Vigil’s Honor
-Chest: Duelist
-Gloves: Inquest
-Leggings: Human Tier 2
-Boots: Human Tier 2
-Weapons: Ebon vanguard stuff
-Back: Rox quiver
I’m pretty happy with what i got
Well, those are my two lvl 80’s
Carym Lautrec the Emerald Knight
Head: Human Cultural T2
Shoulder and Chest: Inquest
Gloves and Boots: Human Cultural T3
Leggings: Honor of the Waves
Dyes: Iron, Pitch, Gold and Mint.
Weapons: Priory
Toryg Redbeard the Hoelbrak Molten General
Just a mix of Cof and Norn Cultural T3 using Vigil and CoF Weapons…
I just fell in love with the colo scheme: Fog, Pitch, Gold and Pottery.
Here’ the thing, those are not the “Attributes” of your builds… Each Traits line gives you two attributes directing a little more your build direction, the real atributes are:
I hope this will help you a little bit, it is really not that hard to understand =)
Thanks for the quick answer, this is really good news! so basically i can just link the gw1 account to my gw2 get 3 points and trade for any 3 pieces of heritage armour i want? this way i’ll be able to play gw1 enjoying the game without runing after other HoM points =)
I’m thinking about buying GW1 just to get the HoM rewards for GW2 and well, it really seem to be an awesome game to play too =), but i didnt found anywhere on the internet or these forums if i have to have the full 30 HoM points to buy a single armour piece? or i can gather less to spend on a single item?… I really dont know how this works…
Well, the item name is usually composed by 3 main words, the first one is the stats of the item, the second one is for the item skin and the third is for the sigil/rune.
For example:
Strong Swindler Coat of the Citadel
Ravaging Swindler Coat of Hoelbrak
They both look the same, but the strong/ravaging means they have different status and the Citadel/Hoelbrak tells wich rune they have on it.
Sorry for my english, i hope i was clear enough
Well, i run a Guardian with knight armour with more than 2k toughness and 100% protection uptime, it works wonders in PvE, i dont usually play WvW.
Build for my Guardian Knight Build
This build have enough toughness and can do enough damage to main maintain the aggro during the encounters
And another thing, you dont really need healing power as a tank guardian, with a low cd healing skill plus the virtue of resolve and the heal on booms applied you survive long enough, the healing power would take the must needed damage, away from a tank.

I’ll give some examples on how this tactical set up could be used:
Red Moa:
- Harmonic Cry: Any: Pets Health: <50%
- Frenzied Attack: Pets Target: Rank: Normal or Higher
Krytan Drakehound:
- Crippling Leap: Pets Target: Stance: Runing Away
- Brutal Charge: Targeting the Ranger: Stance: Casting Spell
Forest Spider
- Entangling Web: Pets Target: Stance: Runing Away
- Poison Gas: Targeting the Ranger: Quantity: 2 or more enemys.
Of course the pets would have more tactical options for each skill, and the ones who doesnt like this system could use the normal pet AI.
The other day i was replaying Dragons Age Origins and i had an idea. Why dont Rangers in Guild Wars 2 can have the same tactical set up used in DAO partys, with his pets.
For those who doesnt know what the “Tactics” option is: A way to automate how your characters respond to situations in combat. This allows you to setup your party members to work together efficiently without needing constant direction.
The tactical set up would work only with the two auto skills from the pets (the F1 Auto Attack, and the F2 special skill wouldnt be affected).
The tactical screen would be placed on the pet select window and each individual pet would have a small amount of tactical slots.
- Select the Pet Skill:
- Choose the skill target: Pets Target, Rangers Target, Targeting the Ranger or Any.
- Pets Target or Rangers Target:
. Health: <100%, <80%, <60%, <40% or <20%
. Rank (Exact rank, higher than or lesser than): Normal, veteran, elite or champion
. Attack Type: Meele, Range or Magic
. Stance: Runing Away or Casting Spell - Targeting the Ranger:
. Rank (Exact rank, higher than or lesser than): Normal, veteran, elite or champion
. Stance: Runing Away or Casting Spell
. Quantity: 1 Enemy, 2 Enemys, 3 Enemys, 4 Enemys or more. - Any:
. Entering in Combat
. As soon as the cool down resets
. Pets Health: <100%, <80%, <60%, <40% or <20%
. Rangers Health: <100%, <80%, <60%, <40% or <20%
This tactical set ups could be enhanced with the beast mastery traits line and i think it would be a wonderfull idea to make the pets AI a LOT better!
Any thoughts?
…Sorry for english mistakes as you all can see, it isnt my main language =)

So say acc sig would give you 7% crit chances when on a 2h weapon so not x 2 as strong more like 1.5 times.
That’s isnt really fair because you cant use the same sigil on the main and off hand, since they doesnt stack….
This may sound a little stupid, but i would love to see rangers using staff, but not in a magical way, use the staff as physical damage close range weapon
Thanks bro, thats some really great tips! if i could rate you more i would =)
Really great answer jcbroe, i dindt know about the internal CD, my build will have 63% crit chance without fury, i’m using 2 superior runes of the Krait (28 Condition Damage and +15% bleed duration) i’m runing 2 felines with me all the time (lynx and jungle stalker) and i’ve traited Rending Attacks from the BM tree (feline pets bleed on critical hit with their basic attacks) i’ll use the sharpening stone skill and the Keen Edge trait to keep a high bleed count on my targets… I mainly do pve with my characters, i already have a full zerker warrior and a full knight guardian, i know condition builds doesnt do wonders on pve but it is somthing that i would like to try! =)
OBS: this is the build i’m planning on using Precision/Condition Damage Build
Does this trait works well with the Sigil of Earth?! I’m thinking on runing a Condition/Precision build for a shortbow ranger in the future.
I like to run a BM shortbow build for leveling, i usually use the Jungle Stalker when i taking a target and my pet is handling another for faster killing, and when i need to take down a tankier (veteran, elite) mob i use the Krytan Drakehound who has a lot of CC abilities and a higher life pool.
Oh, and i use mostly the lynx and the jungle stalker
Well, like the title says i’m almost lvl 80 with my ranger and i need to choose a build to play. I’m a mostly pve kind of player, i’ve tested a lot of builds while i was leveling up and the one i liked best where these:
- Longbow Beastmaster: Berserker Build
- Meele Condition: Carrion Build
- Ranged Condition: Rabid Build
I loved playing with all 3 builds and anyone would be great, but what you guys think? are they at least viable? if it is, wich one is the best?
I have to be honest, i hate guild wars 2 engineers, i use to play a lot of Torchligh II and my fave class was the eng, when i bought GW2 my first profession choice was obviously the eng, but it was too different from what i had in mind, so i thought in a way to split the profession in two:
Engineer: would change the armor to the heavy type with maces and hammers as main weapons, take out the elixirs skills and focus on the turrents, kits and gadgets.
Alchemist: Use the elixir part of the engi but in a improved way and mix it up with some arcane techniques.
I’ll use some images to ilustrate where my ideas came from:
Engineer: http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130122031413/torchlight/images/d/d8/Engineer.png
Alchemist: http://cdn.wikimg.net/strategywiki/images/3/3f/Torchlight_Class_Alchemist.jpg
Well first of all, my idea for this new profession would be medium armor user that use both magical weapons and mechanical ones (like an arcane engineer).
The profession mechanics would be a bit harder to play than the current ones.
The mechanics UI would show two empty flasks, the F1, F2 and F3 would fill the flasks with elemental solutions granting permanent stats bonus for the alchemist.
F1: Fire Solution (FS) – Give the player +30 power
F2: Ice Solution (IS) – Give the player + 50 Healing Power
F3: Poisonous Solution (PS) – Give the player + 30 Condition Damage
(obs: the values are just examples)
The player can have 2 solutions up all the time with no CD.
F4: Create a potion mixing the two active solutions creating a potion. The potion changes the player weapon skills that can only be used once. The first weapon skill will make the alchemist drink the potion for personal bonus and the second one will make the player throw the potion at a targeted area location.
FS+FS: 1 – Fire Armor (5s)
2 – Fire Field
IS+IS: 1 – Heals XX health
2 – Frost Field
PS+PS: 1 – Your next 3 attacks applyes poison
2 – Poison Field
FS+IS: 1 – 5 Stacks of Might + Protection 4s
2 – 3 Stacks of Might + Protection 4s
FS+PS: 1 – Your next 3 attacks applyes bleeding
2 – Area fear (3s)
IS+PS: 1 – Swiftness (8s) stun break
2 – Turn 2 conditions into boons
The class will be able to wield a scepter, pistol or dagger on the main hand, focus, pistol or torch on the off hand and dual wield a staff or a rifle.
I have othe ideas for weapons skills and utility skills but this is my main idea for a profession that is missing on the game, a medium armor magic user.
(Obs²: Sorry about my english and yes, i love playing Invoker on Dota 2)
They could introduce the mace for engies and use the first three attacks from the tool kit as the mace weapon attacks.
1 – Smack: Smack your foe. Repair Turrets (chain attack, applie vulnerability)
2 – Box of Piranhas: Release piranhas that bleed and cripple foes
3 – Pry Bar: Confues your foes by smacking then with a pry bar. (3 stacks of confusion)
The skills are really cool and no one really uses the tool kit, besides, it would be really easy to incorporate the tool kit skills as mace skills.
You can try to play Dark Souls, is not a MMORPG but the game have the best combat controls i’ve ever seen.
