I don’t understand why people feel they need to stick their nose in how other people play. If you don’t like how people do things in your party, find another group. People spend too much time concerned about others.
I want one of the legit player t-shirts too. Is there a monthly fee, or is conforming to the acceptable enough?
+1 for the OP being brave enough to post this in a community of trollers. I don’t mind the challenge but give me the population on a map to do them.
Dulfy has added videos of all the hero points in hot maps, I can’t even begin to thank her enough because I nearly went mad trying to find each one, I absolutely hate any form of PvE and only stick to pvp and wvw and dulfy saved me from quitting hot altogether. She’s also put description of the masteries that are needed to gain access to each hero point, once again I can’t express my thanks enough to dulfy and I know I should comment on her website but I wanted to make other hardcore pvp and wvw players aware of the video guides, THANK YOU DULFY
Dulfy’s website link for those who don’t know already: www.dulfy.net
Yes indeed thanks to Dulfy for their hard work!
Can’t make everyone happy, you have to make sure the majority is happy otherwise it will just be the hardcore gamers playing and that will make for some very empty maps. This has been a nasty rivalry between hardcore and casuals that I have been on both sides of. Funny thing is both groups need each other to make a game flourish, even though neither side will ever admit it. Frankly I find the need to place people in classes stupid, we’re all gamers with differing opinions. Guild Wars 2 is a casual and hardcore friendly game. If that is too much to handle, it would be sad that one would leave, but there are other MMOs out there that would support those needs. Frankly I think this game gives all people the balance of challenging and no-so-challenging content.
Guild Wars 2 has been a casual-friendly game since launch, and now all of a sudden the hardcore element wants to make it hardcore friendly which is ludicrous to me. If you want hardcore there are many great games out there that support that play style. If you’re afraid that they will nerf raids if people complain I don’t think that will happen. People don’t want stuff handed to them. People still have to work for their elite specialization. Its like some people are against reasonable adjustments, the mindset “If I had to do it that way, everyone has to do it that way.” Such a selfish and silly outlook.
This was an excellent decision by ArenaNet. Well done,
well i played for the 400 hero points and i had my fun unlocking the elite spec the challenging way so i really feel like ive done the right thing. If other people want less and they get it i dont see the problem. What’s important is we did it the right way
and that in itself is self satisfactory
Didn’t really know there was a “right” way, but if that helps you sleep better at night then by all means. It is an accomplishment whether it is 250 or 400. I applaud you for getting the specialization the “correct” way.
250 HP is reasonable.
250 HP is reasonable.
250 for each character you have is reasonable.
I’m glad its being tested, however with only two guilds invited why even announce it to the community. You’re just inviting jealousy and flame posts. Should have just kept this on the down-low…IMHO. This sounds more like an alpha test than a closed beta test.

Thanks for the update.
honestly, imo wvw is not fixable at this point. it needs a complete overhaul and a new system implemented. its obvious where the focus is in this game. spvp and living story aka pve. wvw content at this point is just an afterthought.
This is the best group of players that I have ever gamed with, and I have been gaming a long time. They are helpful, hilarious, and above all treat each other like family. NUDE is dedicated to WvW madness, guild missions, and we even spend our Sundays PvEing it up to rest up for the coming week of competition.
Fun loving, drunk, belligerent, dirty, naughty joke telling, awesomeness in this guild.
Same here, transferred about week 6 to a EU server and did not receive my chest.
LOL this thread gets a +1 for entertainment. I was telling someone before leagues started to watch these match up threads because the rage is going to increase by a factor of 10.
On a mature note we’ll be on the lookout for the exploiters and we’ll report them as we see people cheating. That goes for all sides involved.
I’m from IoJ but I can tell you that CD does care about defense and they do it very well, especially on their bl.
As a former DH that transferred I will, of course, try to convince you to come to IoJ
Never outmanned in our bl, great communication between guilds over TS and commitment to keep our stuff (they get mad at you from setting regular defensive siege instead of superior in important towers), you will find all that here.Give me a shout here or in game (Arthusimon) if you want more info.
Cheers
Thanks for the compliments! May I say rank 15 does not reflect the determination you guys have for winning(projected to move to 13 if things hold). I see you guys moving right up the ranking.
Johnno the guild that I help lead on Crystal Desert in committed to homeland defense. We are involved in scouting operations, laying defensive siege, upgrading towers and keeps, and hold classes in how to best defend homeland BL. Basically to reiterate what hmsgoddess has said as we are in the same guild together, if you are looking for a guild that is dedicated to home defense we are your guild
The fights in CDBL last night were epic. Some of the best fights I’ve been involved in. I have a feeling this week is going to be fun
Not going to be a long week for me. Going to attend some server events, do a little havoc, and get lots of homework done.
Really hoping to get a more competitive match-up. We don’t match up well to any server T3 and above. They seems to hand us our hats in an efficient manner.
Great match this week SBI and EBay, best of luck in future matches and see you guys again in the future I’m sure.
Yay on AOE looting.
I feel genuinely bad for anyone playing a Ranger. My wife plays a Ranger and last night was like a funeral “Let me play my build one last time before it’s crushed.” Back to the drawing board for her it seems, or perhaps a switch to the Mesmer she just leveled to 80.
As for my thief no big changes seeing I don’t run the stealth build.
Great day to be a Elementalist or a Necromancer.
Rangers yet again get the shaft…
Big patch today and big thief changes, especially to perma stealth thieves.
Very glad this matchup is possibly ending tonight, on the bright side it allowed me to roll a thief and level him some. Upside of getting the same matchup would be that I can continue leveling my thief LOL
Good to see devs making adjustments as needed and being proactive. I’ve never had issues with ACs, I just stay out of the red circles
Problem is I don’t have time to read a 1000 word forum post in one sitting. Saying this is not a QQ thread just opens it up to scutiny.
Im just questioning your abilities is all. I can and will adapt to a new build. No problem with it. I don’t feel the need to rage over it in the forums like im some kid in a supermarket chucking a tanty because mummy won’t give them their lolly. I adapt and I use what I have. Why is it you guys can’t do the same? Its what any player who is skilled would do. They play the meta to its potential. And like every game out there, metas change from time to time. And again the good players adapt. The bad ones go cry in the forums.
I don’t think you actually fully comprehend the ramifications of this change. VoTF as a guild has put an insane amount of effort into this game, into our meta, into adapting to every patch in order to retain the good fights we get. Those good fights have been reducing of late and now with the arrowcart changes those fights will be reduced to attempting to peel a wall/gate off more people in order to get them out to fight us.
If your adaptation to these mechanics reduced your game to the equivalent of pulling out your nasal hairs after you had put an insane amount of effort into the game – inclusive of behind the scenes feedback and contact with a plethora of people that assure you the game isnt going in the way of “siege wars” then how exactly would you react? Shrug it off? I can see from your posts that you are not the type of person to walk away from something or let something go, especially since your self proclaimed “adaptation” should have meant you wouldn’t come to the forums since you are focused on adapting as opposed to anything else and you especially wouldn’t come to the forums to complain about those complaining… Would you?
No, I am definitely “complaining about the complainers”. TBH im a little over the GW2 community, seems they have to complain about everything Anet does. I know there is alot of decent players in this game, but anyone reading this forum would assume that the vast majority of the community is composed of self entitled children.
I think your missing a few things in terms of tactics though and there is alot I believe you haven’t discovered for yourself. And in all honesty, I believe the previous meta of the karma train was much worse than what we are looking at now. And its pretty clear to me that you haven’t thought through everything before you have complained about it and you haven’t given much thought on how to adapt to it and simply continued playing the way you were playing before and since what you were doing before was working and isn’t working now it must mean AC buff is OP. This is why I question what I have questioned. Like I said, the good players will adapt.
This is not about adaptation, this is about the implementation of something that reduces the fun in a game to monotony! You may consider setting up a siege on a tier 3 keep for 6 hours prior to attacking “fun” but I consider it tedious at best and down right insane at worst.
Also if you think the karma train was bad then you need to look at how these changes will affect said “blobbing”, it will increase – not decrease it. You need MORE people to take a tower/keep now not less.
Why is this so hard to comprehend?
No the point is you need better tactics to take them now not more people. I am sick of people complaining about everything myself.
Amen! Although in the end all the mega QQing will probably win the day and they will adjust it. Although I hope they don’t.
Towers and keeps should be difficult to take, not the cakewalk mindless zombie zerg it has been. +1 for making it harder…oh wait, people don’t like challenges they want things handed to them on silver platters.

If it gets to be a real problem ArenaNet will adjust it, some people are just to dramatic and overreact to things. Let them work the data and make fixes if needed.
Some great fights last night, was fun attacking Durios and the SBI group kept pushing us back to OW, then we would push to Durios, back and forth until Game of Thrones came on and I had to log off. Been fun fighting SoS and SBI, good, classy players that represent their servers well.
Dungeons are the most boring thing in a MMO, but thats just how I feel personally about them.
If you have paid for the game already, you lose nothing in coming back and seeing if things have improved in your view.
I enjoy WvW on my server.
Great strategy if you ask me
Will be glad when the Adventure Box is over so more of the CD players comes back to WvW
Thanks for taking the time to post the build Paz. I did wvw with my ranger for the first time last night and must say I enjoyed it.
Because I personally enjoy doing them, when I tire of them I’ll do something else.
Dungeons, mega-boss events, and some farming in one week I had a full set of exotic armor and weapons for my build, and I play casually.
Rares are not even end-game gear, basically it is just ecto-fodder for me at least. I could see if exotics were raining from Tyria’s skies, but worrying about rare gear saturation is silly.
Daily dragon events and other events that drop rares
And this is not grind mentality?!? Why don’t you do events in less populated zones? Oh yea, they don’t give you daily carrot.
I was just naming some examples, I do plenty of events in other areas less populated.
Daily dragon events and other events that drop rares, daily pve&pvp, monthly pve&pvp, WvW, PvP, crafting, living story, exploring…
I have plenty to do at 80
Work on the living story, the dragon and other mega boss events now guarentee you at least one rare item. There are some PvP improvements but I don’t know much about those. Read the patch notes in the forums since Lost Shores will give you the best information on game updates. Welcome back
Current spawn times are fine, the people that are trolling the timer website just need to stop.
I have yet to get an exotic drop in my travels, not really worried too much about it. Took me a few CoF runs to get my GS, about a week to get a full set of Draconic exotic gear.
I personally love the idea of the living story. Only contructive criticism is less time between story updates, or more content in each episode to allot for the space between episodes.
I can just base it on personal experience. I felt the same way and someone told me to set small goals for myself like get 400 in all the crafting skills, work on different armor sets. When I started doing this it gave me an excuse to logon every day. I won’t get on here and bash people, I can just offer my personal experiences in GW2. After going back to old MMOs I used to play I just couldn’t do it, GW2 has left an impression on me for sure.
Game is prospering for sure. Devs are addressing issues and player concerns even though there is still plenty of issues to work on but what MMO doesn’t have that.
