It is sad that “this issue will be addressed in the next patch” which means the next week.
And we still don’t know what the heck that Anet is nerfing shortbow at first. They keep hiding their intention to the players. If they fixed that problem then they should explain to us why they make that decision.
I agree that it is a shame but mistakes happen. If it turns out to be intended then i don’t know what to say, shortbow speed was it’s saving grace in the condition removal heavy game as is. It was ideal for pressuring Guardians into wasting their removals for example.
@wollie i agree to a point but it’s not just the symbol of wrath change that is getting people’s goat up. They’re systematically nerfing retaliation builds with every patch.
The change to the order of the skills on the bar is something i can’t get my head round, it seems so pointless and almost them saying we want you to use the skills in ‘this’ order… eh?

It’s not just the EU servers, the US ones are suffering the same. I’m from the UK but playing on a US server and during EU prime time the lag appears there just the same. It doesn’t seem to matter where you are from as the yanks in guild experience it just the same as I so it’s not a routing/ISP problem and seems to be on ANET’s end.
I haven’t had a chance to log in today yet and won’t until this evening, but from reading the patch-notes i can’t see anything there that would make people stop playing Mesmers at all in PvP. Some extra cool-down on some phantasms isn’t going to make that much difference at all.
However, i will predict that a lot more people will be trying out shatter specs after the changes and heaven help you when fighting more than one of those.
Until combo fields become more important, the elementalist traits get an overhaul, and the lackluster utility skills get cleaned up (ex:conjure weapons) I don’t see a good reason to play Ele over other classes. That’s not to say you can’t win any battles or support your team, I just don’t think Ele’s bring anything unique or important to PvP right now.
I agree to a point, however a bunker ele brings a great amount of CC, group healing, damage soaking and avoidance that it it can really turn a fight. Well played it can be harder to take down than a guardian while providing support for the rest of the team that a guardian couldn’t without being able to run 2 specs at once. Outside of that spec i’m not much of a fan even though i was sure it would be my main when the game launched.
Pretty much why i stopped playing my Guardian in tournies. Guard a node the whole match and on top of being mostly bored end up with pitiful scores. Same goes for bunker ele, you really need to make sure you do enough damage to the targets as if you just play CC+damage soaker you end up not even getting the kill points half the time.
I’m not a fan of all outshatter builds but it is fun to jump in sPvP and focus thieves for the match while running one once in a while. They really don’t like being burst like that over and over.
That build doesn’t sound right to me for condition Necro, looks like you’re putting too much emphasis on power and not enough on toughness. I prefer a 0/30/30/10/0 build with staff/scepter+dagger for conditionmancer, <3 Reapers Protection. What amulet are you wearing?
It also sounds like you need to work on your awareness of what’s going on, 1v1 a Warrior is my least feared class as they are so obvious in what they’re doing. If they’re a juker there’s no shame in being caught out once but after that you shouldn’t be. The biggest threat they pose is catching you unawares in the middle of a hectic fight with others.
I haven’t found the TTK too bad unless a really well played Backstab thief jumps me when i’m on a build with say only ~1000 toughness, then it’s just full to dead literally in a second. Those occasions are few and far between though.
Fiery Gladius has a very visible flame effect when drawn. No idea whether you can drop/make it in PvE but you can make the PvP one in the forge with Tiger tokens.
same thing here, opened 35 gold wolf chests earlier and salvaged everything… got 1 crystal.
Oh ya, wanted to add: yes, we’re watching Mesmers, bunker Guardians and tank heal Ele’s. Forgot to add that.
Ouch, tank ele is the only worthwhile spec they have. I hope you look at improving them elsewhere before nerfing it.
Perhaps i’m imagining things but i have a nagging feeling a dev posted they were looking in to this. Either that or it was a well thought out user post.

Indeed, i’d dropped mine a while back in favour of guardian and then decided to try a bunker spec on it a week or so ago. Holy heck i was surprised :o
I have to agree. I spend a lot of time on various classes playing as many builds as i can come up with or find and the one thing that annoys me every time is just how much the gear side depends on the amulet. ~10 pieces of customizable gear (not counting under water) and majority of stats come from the amulet.

Starting to get a little bored but yes it was worth the money. I’ve spent more time playing the game so far than 4 or 5 single player games combined which each cost the same as GW2.
I’m fine with the rewards being for style only, however i too am starting to get that feeling of boredom creeping in. Very little variation in the maps and it’s still doing the same thing map to map. Less and less people are logging in during the times i play in guild so organised tournaments are becoming scarce, PUG tournaments are no different than sPvP other than being 5v5 as they are just as pointless.
Oh yeah, and what’s with showing you the next rank chest as a possible reward when you hit the lvl just before you change ie hit lvl 29 and it tells you you’re getting a dolyak and wolf chest then gives you the dolyak one and 29-30 is 15k instead of 7.5k.. that made me pause for a second. Here’s what you could have won… reminds me of the old tv gameshow Bullseye lol.
^Kalec’s build is pretty solid, I’m not sure if it’s just an omission but i personally wouldn’t buy the standard 660,, it’s roughly the same performance as a 7850 which is significantly cheaper. If however he meant the 660ti then it’s a solid card now the launch price has came down to more reasonable numbers, the 7950 is it’s alternative.
Power supply should not be a problem with this build, I bought 1 which supported more than was needed with last video card build set. I didnt check if this Video card was asking 100w more than last one. but i dont believe so.
If you have a website or program that could help me verify this, it could be nice tho.
Depends on what your last card was as 570’s are Fermi architecture which was very power hungry. It also depends on the model and brand of your power supply, as long as you’re not overclocking a good 550-600W is enough for a 570 and say a 2500k CPU whereas a cheap one would most likely not cope.
AlphaDuck it is indeed all cosmetic, anything that changes character stats is free from the vendors in the mists.
Farming their way to better looking gear doesn’t affect anyone really. That doesn’t mean you need to do what they say when you enter a map they’re on, just kill them and go about your business as though it’s a normal match, i would.
I don’t think i’ve had a single Crystal from Dolyak and ive bought a lot, i go back and buy the lower tier gold boxes and i get them every so often. I don’t know whether it’s just pure bad luck or the chance of them is lower in that tier through design or a bug.
Similar here for the past few days in sPvP. I had originally thought it was just my connection playing up at peak times but a fair few in the guild had the same lag/dc’s at the same time last night.

My American friends are still playing just fine. I and another friend, both in Toronto, have been DC’d and can’t get back in.
Doesn’t seem to matter where people are from, i can’t get back on after going to char select but other people from the UK are still playing on vent, along with Canadians and yanks.
Add memory to your list, you have a core2duo so it’s probably ddr2 you have and you’ll need ddr3 for a Sandy or Ivybridge CPU & Mobo.

They haven’t updated the tooltip for the combined traits, to someone only looking in game it just looks as though Defenders Shield has been removed and Glacial Heart added.
The problem ToC finds itself with now is that with stability it was a tad over-powered compared to most classes elites but now without it becomes the only elite that requires you to use a utility before it for it to become viable. Not only that you have a cast time on it then a huuge cast time on the number 5.
Compare it to the the fire and forgets with none or short cast times like the Engineers fantastic elite then you have a problem. Its a fire and forget heal/damage/mez that repeatedly does it’s thing. We have to waste a utility to get ours off never mind cast it’s main use skill. I suppose you could run around spamming number 1 but it makes you the number one target so good luck with that in tournaments.
I’d honestly be happy if they halved the cast time on number 5 but made it also only 50% heal. 50% is enough to turn the tide of a fight.
The Antec 300 is a fantastic budget case. I have one of my PC’s in one and the airflow is pretty good and has plenty of room inside. Your link is broken so i can’t check but make sure it’s the newer model. As for fans, i think mine came with one on top and one at the back and i stuck a spare one from another case in the front, you won’t be overclocking so it won’t be necessary for you to do the same.
If you do go for a cheaper card make sure it’s something like the 7950, don’t go for a 570 as it’s not only slower but it runs hotter and uses much more power meaning a good 500W PSU won’t be sufficient.

Tower Case – undecided suggestions for a case? Preferably under £50 and suitable for this system
It would be appreciated if there could be any improvements to be made to this set up or any errors I may have made would be helpful to both price or performance because this is really stretching my budget to keep in my GTX 670 graphics card and 16gb’s of RAM if my tower and power supply do turn out to be a little over what I expect I will probably downgrade to 8gb of RAM.
I would change the power supply, there’s no point in build a good system then scrimping on the PSU and having a chance it’ll blow comonents, the Coolermaster Elite really isn’t very good.
