i think they should just buff it to more bleed. else there is no condition damage build for melee

Ok, so im back after a break from gw2.
My other chars were pretty much plug and play but the thief,which i enjoyed alot in pvp was not..
I have both crit items and condition items, but i like to focus on condition thief..
Is that stil viable?

Iv played teso beta, the general pve and skilltrees etc are great..
But…Id stick to gw2 for my pvp , its just Feels way better in gw2..
Its great my team consists of lvl 10-30 while theirs are lvl 40+
not only that, they also from same guild, so why do i want to put myself in arena unless for tookens, its sure not about pvp skill.
Not going to be a point of arenas if this is not fixed asap.

Khadorian, Necromancers are infact weak in comparison to the capabilities of other classes in PvP.
what fact? I trust myself since i play thief, necro, guardian pretty regulary in tpvp.
unless your like the top ranked 5% group that I never get to fight anyway you shouldnt feel bad for using a necro.
I planned to share my tpvp build but since there was verry little response to my wvw build im going to wait until i start record some videos.

i kinda feel necros counter mesmers to some degree, put those conditions right back.. ยจ
ofc a shatter can get you out of nowhere but mostly its just a pain to down them which buggs me more than anything in a group fight.
edit : But I do think our forms should be immune to all kind of cc imo.
why are u trying to take him down without a way to remove boons?
time to change your setup then if its those kind of people u want to fight.
im running corupt boon or the well that does the same depending on build, its also FUN to strip boons
Necros are not weak at all in pvp.
My tip is that you shouldnt go glasscannon.
You can go zerker amulet but then your build and runes have to make up for it in defense.
I would go greater marks, and axe training your depending alot on those.
Not tried it, but last grasp 15 in soulreaping is a key trait in my builds, making it better would be nice.
My build, works really well in wvw, few minor gear changes since i got some ascended but nothing special.
Im running d/d staff, wells and spectral grasp.
I like it because the speed boost from traits let me have a utility not occupied by that and works fine.
every smart person would understand that this is about ur build and not about plague in particular. It is after all 20 sec duration with 240 sec cd.

That means ur not doing nothing, you are doing poison for ur team..
The point is you have 0 condition damage and your build would be better if you had, simple as that.

Aoeing conditions with 0 condition damage vs 1000 condition damage i know which one is more useful, as faar as i see you were not stacking might in your build or gear either so you dont get any free that way.Plague is much more about control then damage, if your using anything but Plague of Darkness your doing nothing for your team. The condition damage with Withering Plague is laughable.
Poison reduce healing, last i heard 33%
Ask what debuff is best in any game with pvp, im 99% sure they will say healdebuff, well except you that think its nothing. Good luck with ur t1 wvw, trying to help here, but im sure you know best!

Ive recently finding out having a standard well trait layout and using Bowl of Lemongrass Poultry Soup along with Necromancers high base health pool pretty much cancels out most condition damage.
That being said i have been mixing gears between Knights, Zerkers and Cavaliers to maximize toughness.
This is my current WvW build that focuses on high disruption and survivability through toughness and condition removal whilst dishing out heavy critical damage (thus avoiding the T1 weakness spamming meta).
Heres an example of my particular Bunker Well Build in action;
In my experience, people dont really target a person in plague form, ur not tanking more than random aoe so I dont see the point ur running around in plague form there in ur vid if you have 0 condition damage, not going to acomplish much.
Some vitality and toughness is great but you need some damage to make a difference IMO.
arah armor look crap on asura, the shoulders are to big.. I cant find something that fits for him, except look like generic mage
Posted this build earlier. its similar to yours, after some pvp testing i came to the conclusion to keep rune of strengh, my main damage is from power anyway. Im fine with 80% feare duration, the extra tick is prob not worth loosing those runes for.
Tpvp kinda sucks that i cant get the gear i want, there is no power/toughness/precision with some healthy condition damage gear.
Im loosing like 400 toughness in tpvp and its a big deal.

axe is great if you use forms and another weapon like staff alot.
Dont really use auto attack much.
I guess, its not a tank build, but the defense is good, iv soloed with ranger, thief, mesmer and guardian to compare, just that necros dont have any get away buttons that some classes have so getting zerged will happend from time to time.
My necro is my latest char but I have to say its probably the most enjoyable in wvw experience. Id prob go with guardian for tpvp though.

im mostly solo, sometime i follow the zerge.
I have this build with WvW in mind, thats all I use my necro for, but i also farm abit sometime, change elite to flesh golem then.

well Its a kind of well rounded build, with power as main stat.
You will get up some more condition damage from BIP
you have multiple ways to remove or transfer conditions.
I sometime change locust for epidemic, and in pve i change corupt condition for well of suffering.
Might not seem so great combination but staff do hits when landed and the build try to focus abit on fear duration aswell. Forms mostly use power otherwise
stats should be around
3300 power
33% crit 34% crit damage.
2.4k armor
22k health.
500 condition damage.
Without food or buffs ofc..
So you are rather durable while doing good damage.
Any ideas on how to improve it?
I think you are missing the point, both carrion and rampager gear has power, and if you go for venoms you get like 250-300 power from traits alone, im sitting at 3k attack in my “condition build”, crits are hardly wasted, and with 15 in critcal strikes you get initiative back on crits, also with rune of earth you get bleeds.
I dont see it as a support build, more like : If 30 shadow arts and venom share makes our group do as much damage as if i had 30 in critical strikes instead of (15 like I do) then there is no need to respec for dungeons and thats makes me happy.. Its not like I would run venom share anywhere else but in a dungeon, I like 30 shadow arts for wvw and soloing.
Now if it does equal out Id like to know.
PS. Never heard of molotov, if its not a thief specifik thing then i wouldnt put it in the calculation. DS

Iv been venuring into condition damage since i wanted to try poisons.
I only use the damage poison on bar.
Mix of rampager/carrion gear,superior earth sigil and krait runes
Spec 25/15/30/0/0 dagger/dagger pistol/pistol
This makes me able to get poison share in groups if I want or get some survivability in wvw.
Variations iv debated
30/10/30/0/0
25/10/30/0/5
Any tips?
I think its abit of class and race combination, unless your a guardian or thief people target the closest large target first.
i dont regrett my charr thief but human and asuras have it easier imo.
I feel unless you run a bunch of signets 20 in marksmanship is enough, and i really like furious grip(15 skirmish) otherwise seems like you are on the right track, happy hunting!
Ok, i like my drakes for pve since i get whirl finisher in the healing spring and they do some aoe, i agree il prob have to throw abit more points into beastmastery and great to hear its working for someone..
I do feel pets get quite abit sturdier with nature line but not quite enough.

Hello, so i decided to do some fractals afterall, who doesnt want a quiver on his back!
Sure I have a few 80s but I didnt know I had to pick a character else id prob pick my guard since its easier to get groups i reckon, our area heal is pretty great though.Anyway im doing it with my ranger and since im more of a farm/wvw player i could use a hand to pick my type of damage..
Now I have both a condition damage and damage set.
Iv been doing with dps set since thats the build im using atm(longbow/gw)
But maybe trap build better for groups?
Any experienced fractal player help me out, mostly doing wvw otherwise.

I no longer can use my illusionary leap thrugh a curtain to get chaos armor..

well the fire/frost auras is a nice buff.
To be fair, the trap damage isnt really that high compared to other aoes and its limitations, its the avoidance together with the traps.
I think(hope) they will in that case adjust the sword or dagger skills and remove some evades.
Just move on to another class if you dont like it, I think its the best way to show your disappointment.
Are you serious? Leveling another class to max level is the best way to show my disappointment? That is exactly what is wrong with games these days, they get away with #$%@ like this because of people like you saying “just don’t play that class”, “Just don’t do that mission”, “just don’t use that spell”.
So you are saying, if you bought a washing machine that has a bug where it always ruins your coloured shirts but everything else is fine. You go to the store and they tell you “Just don’t wash your coloured shirts with it”. You be totally OK with that, right?
I am baffled.
No its like most people can wash their shirts with it, but you happend to have a specifik fabrik so they get ruined and you need another washing machine that works for your needs.
And while we are talking bugs, you dont mention that we can channel rapid fire on people that stealth and you no longer have target on.
This has a bigger impact on the game than your whole list alltogether, atleast for people that wvw or pvp.

How can u guys stand wvw with no condition removal?
im only 20 in shadow arts, but I think shadow embrace is like the best tallent in the entire tree, this is while having sword main hand for more removal..

All I can say is that more than 2 specifik trait, armor, pet and rune choises work for me.
To be fair, most of your post is not about broken functionality, its maybe not optimal but stil doable.

The F2 is the only really big issue for me.
Rangers have great defensive tallents, you can go fairly dps and do well, read a mix of dps and balanced gear.
plenty of viable ways to build, its not all about who does most damage, its about whos left standing.
Im sad that the guardian trait for longer duration on elites dont work on our forms.
It was actually partly why I did the norn guardian combination.
Now I think my norn look great but It bothers me the form last so short, its not like they are overpowered or even strong anyway.
I use snow leopard to get past zergs into keeps and sometimes bear, but thats just cause i like the looks of it.

Nature protection is alot better than barkskin, you also share boons with pet and 20% boon duration.
I use undead runes, but thinking about 6 runes from arah, but that will take some work to get.

in WvW a trap build is useless, sorry to say that’s the problem. you’ll do far better with a longbow and zerker with 30/30/5/0/5
now to the OP: you cannot get close “caz of traps”? you kidding? you must take NO condition removal or stun breaks. on my trap ranger necro’s will eat me considering they can transfer conditions at least 2x while stacking more. ele’s have massive mobility and with a small amount of common sense don’t stick around in traps too long, or long enough for them to do tons of damage. entangle is just lols, learn to dodge(entangle is great if it lands, but easy to dodge and easy to get out of). thieves to me are the biggest problem, but for some reason they like to jump to me and steal(which puts them in my spike and flame trap…=melt)
You’re bang on Stone. Necros destroy my trap build. Rangers have 2 viable builds. The Bunker Ranger (0/0/30/10/30) and the Trapper Ranger (0/30/30/5/5) and they are only viable in certain cenarios. All this QQ-ing about Rangers is a joke. REALLY!!!

nature protection > barkskin and strengh of spirit gives me 70 power also like the 20% boon duration bonus.

It’s great for bursting with pet though (see NN Volume 3 for example)
Maul needs to be a blast finisher I think to make it really viable for Condition builds (this would give it a use for Trap Builds)
I’m sure it’s actually a decent weapon if you’re Knights/Cleric/Magi setup though.
I hope you mean for pve? because its the perfect compliment to shortbow in wvw for a trap/condition build.
No other weapon lets ju close distance to trap or leave after like greatsword. also you can run into a zerg and then block your way out after dropping your traps and elite on them..
