Combat should be redesigned

All they need to do about combat is remove the PVE cleave auto atack spamway from the game :|

This would be a good start, then reduce the cleave zone radious for the rest of the skills that cleave.

this would help reduce the lag as well.

Cleave on auto has big impact because AA in gw is a lot of your damage output, unlike in other games I played. In fact in GW 80% of skills are AoE, cuz of cleave, which do 100% damage to secondary targets. In WoW maybe 20% skills are AoE and they usually are made for AoE and usually are weak or at best semi-effective in single target combat. Here every skill is as good for AoE as it is good for single target.

Furthermore, from my experience with MMOs, I’d say, that problem can be dynamic buff system. In fact it’s awesome and introduces a lot of co-play, but through might, fury, vulnerabitlity (idk if there’s something else, had a looong break from gw) you can easily double your DPS and you can manage 100% uptime, I haven’t seen something like this before. And my bet is, that changing buff system would have biggest impact on combat, dunno if good or bad, but then maybe more builds would be viable, and I’m not talking about trash stats, because everyone knows that in every game people are taking the most optimized build and stats, as they are most effective. Inb4 why should you raid without timer with 10x clerics and fight for 30 minutes when you can beat the same within 5 minutes using zerks, still no timer, though xD

However, imo combat change is not that important, if at all. Bigger problem is, that some classes can be completely unplayable. I understand one class being better than the other, but making class non viable as any role in MMO is misunderstanding (necro for 3 years since start, don’t know equivalent which is up to date). And the biggest problem is progression/endgame, but it’s another thing. Inb4 another ascended set and legendary grind is neither progression nor endgame

This game needs more premade emote commands.

Exactly as in topic. I had about 5 months break from the game and I’m not sure how all classes are doing right now. Were any major changes implemented? And how is ele compared to other classes? I’m interested in everything but WvW
And is scholar zerker still top? Or meta has changed? :P

Personally idc as long as revenants downed AA is changed to apply chill (chill would even fit the class better than slow but who cares)

There is no such thing as unlucky or lucky accounts. There is nothing in your account that dooms you to bad RNG and nothing in your friend’s account that blesses their account with good RNG.

Actually they where proven to exist early on. Accounts that could solo events and still got only got bronze achievement and kitten loot. Anet didnt admit they existed and swept it under the rug.

But either way, we know that RNG and DR has been broken since launch, especially DR. You can log on, go to Orr and do a single event for a couple of minutes and during that event suffer very noticable DR (that will stick when your character moves to another zone) – Anet has always said thats impossible, its supposed to take a while before it happens. Then of course another day you can log on and get great loot for 30 minutes across 3 zones.

I’ll tell You my DR fractal story. Before HoT I was hunting for fractal dagger. Of course I was dropping everything but no dagger at all. But that’s not even a problem, game doesn’t know what I want to drop (or does it?) So I was doing 20,30,40,50 daily. And here comess DR. Every time when I had a break from the game for few days, on coming back my loot was better. One day (returning day) I had 2 ascended boxes and 2 skins. On non-returning days my loot was drastically worse. By drastically I mean no single ring for 4/5 days (spreadsheets said that before hot ring was ~~40%) . Tell me that this game doesn’t hate some people and I’ll lol at You. Loud as kitten.
After HoT I’m doing 3×50′s once in 2/3 days. Better loot than doing 5 achievements daily. Consider changing Your loot DR system anet. Really. Which is something I can’t understand – create DR on loot.

Character stuck in place

I was playing PvP, everything was nice, I killed enemy revenant for like 5th time in a row. But the guy cursed me. When he was downed I couldnt move (no immobilize). No movement via keyboard or via mouse. The only thing I could do was using skills. Blink didn’t solve the issue. When match finished I was able to move again in the mists. Strange one.

Has anyone experienced it? I saw it in fractals often but I thought it’s the “skills go on increased cooldown if You have condition on You” instability. I saw it with Cleansing Wave (ele), Chilled to the bone, Your soul is mine (necro). Some engi skills also. I believe it was a kit skill, but not sure though. And to clarify – it happened to me few times in open world PvE too. Never saw people complaining about it, is it me who is wrong? :<
P.S. Today it was “Cleansing Wave” interrupted by Veteran Mushroom King in VB. I believe it was interrupted by “Fungal Draw”, basing on the skill name.

So Mistward Helm Casing cannot be obtained by killing Chak Gerent, by killing multiple Gerents, by completing the event or by anything else. I completed it like 3 times and nothing happens.

Bug or not it was still overpowered and it needed to be updated….As for this thread what they could actually do is create a specialization tratline that focuses on the use of mantras. They could also tie it to the use phantasms and clones for which using a mantra empowers in some way the abilities of illusions that you summon and that are already on the field. Would be awesome, don’t you think?

I like this one. You still would have 5 base mantras +6 from specialization :v None class have 11 skills of same type xD

My idea is to change mechanism of mantras to make them more viable in pve. Now You have to sacrifice 3 seconds of dps or whatever You’re doing (+ often interrupted via dodging, cc) to cast it. It is uncomfortable. And here’s my idea.

Now You have to finish casting and You have new ability which You can cast 2/3 times. Instead of this, we could have skill which charges in the background and You can use it later. You skip the 3sec casting part. It is known mechanic from Wildstar (Concentrated Blade), which inspired me to share it with You. Example:

Mantra of pain – Recharge time: 7sec. Max stacks 2 (3 traited). Recharge starts whenever Your mantra isn’t charged to maximum.
Recharge could be affected by alacrity, chill. recharge time is just example. In case of other mantras, which have internal cooldown on “discharge” such ICD could be added on top of base mechanic.

What does it give to You? You don’t have to sacrifice Your actions to charge mantra, the process is automated. Additionally, the trait from dueling (forgot the name) could work better. Now You gain +3% damage on mantra use, but You lose half the time of bonus because of repetitive casting.
If i remember good there are only 2 traits connected to mantras, so it wouldn’t be that hard to adjust them.

Why ANY trap should be visible ffs? And no, I don’t play DH. My only experience with DH was unlocking it for achievement.
Every trap (necro marks also) should be invisible.
And I don’t have problems with invisible longbow 5 o0 (my PC is 4+ years old)

Here are some considerations for Emerald.

Best case: if you win 21 in a row you will get through Emerald in 21 games.

Worst case ( I think, correct me please), if you have long win and lose streaks, it takes SO much longer. You win 19 and then lose 18, it will take you (19*20)+1 games to get through. 381 games.

What have I missed?

You’ve missed the fact that a loss can give -3 pips. You’ve missed the fact that a loss can give +1 pips. You’ve missed the fact that a win can give +3 pips. You’ve missed the fact that matchmaking is imprecise and will not necessarily be matching you with equal skill opponents.

You have missed the fact that Your team will consist of 5 pugs and enemy team will have at least 3 premades

Problem solved, Idk how it repaired itself, but message about poison mastery disappeared when i was WPing on jungle maps. Try abandoning quest and change maps, maybe it is gonna help

I started story with my mes (2nd try after completing with necro) and got to the “Sign Cutting” step. I have found like 3 Rox’s marks and left the story. I wanted to come back and finish it but I can’t see any green circle leading me to the further marking. Maybe I’m blind but it literally disappeared. I tried multiple relogging/abandoning story combinations.
Edit: Just started another story step and tried “Sign cutting” again. And I was told to train poison lore, which I already have.

Two issues I’ve noticed so far:
1 Chilled to the bone can be interrupted and goes on 90 sec cooldown
2 Reaper’s Shroud 2 still sometimes throw me backwards (it’s rare, but happens)

And nothing can save you could corrupt 3 boons. 2 feels a bit weak imo

In general it’s k, I don’t like 100% finishers on AA though.
And for dagger 5 i would like something like blind instead of more bleeds + blast finisher. It fits theme of the skill.

And remember that animation was changed to not exploit AA with early cancelling it. Go play mesmer and exploit GS AA for 25% moar dmg! It will be nerfed into same awkward animation

Scepter and axe rework sucks.
Axe range increase is k, but weapon still has nothing good to offer. 10% AA boost made me lmfao.
Scepter – lingering curse nerf is too bad, it was already bad weapon. #3 now generates less lifeforce than b4. And I was hoping for something like 7 seconds of torment (10 with lingering curse). Mesmer’s scepter block has more than 100% uptime on 5 torment stacks

i think that good move would be to make 2 different standard editions
1) HoT+core game (still superior)
2) HoT+char slot

I used to play necro for more than a year as main class. From update to update first thing I check are necro changes. I’m looking forward for some nice improvements for the class, but nah. I’m going to free 1 slot for revenant if there won’t be a free one with expansion.

Axe training +10% dmg when striking vulnerable foes doesn’t mean all weapons. Descriptions are not complete and things are not clarified, as always.
See: Lightning Rod: Disabling an enemy causes them to be struck by a lightning bolt. no more weakness? Doesn’t say.
Look at mortar: we saw skill descriptions in video, but descriptions on forums look like “they are not final”™. No info how AoEs are big, no durations. There is a lot of such bad descriptions.
And finally it would be stupid to benefit 10% dmg always from trait connected with specific weapon.

AC p1 probably is fastest, right? But burrows are quite hard. So which path is the best to solo and sell? Class doesn’t matter.

I think that we will get new dungs bcuz:
a) new legendaries
b) new legendaries will be connected with mordremoth in some way I think? (at least I hope they will have lore behind them)
c) legendaries need dungeon tokens
d) why mordremoth related legendary weapon should use CoE tokens to craft it?

I had it and I deleted it when formatted my phone. There is no way to delete authenthicator from my account, because it requests code I don’t have access to. Noticed it when wanted to enter forums from my phone and code was requested. Thoughts?
P.S. Why there is no option to assign authenticator to another device? Another thing implemented without thinking it over?

I would go for more than this. Fractals are 5min dungeons, PIECES from old LS dungeons. Personally I would old GW1 dungeons to be revamped, adapted to current story and than You could experience them in a new way. I like fractals, but their concept doesn’t goes well with big gw1 dungeons. Or in the best case you would have 4 fractals from single dungeon, making people cry “too much to rememeber and learn to do it efficiently with a pug, oh, ah”.

That shouldn’t happen. Either it’s a bug (and you should report it) or something else is happening that you didn’t notice.
