According to Dulfy, to get this achievement one must go to the top of the helix without being hit by the vines AND the mobs.
I tried multiple times now, making sure i wasn’t hit by anything at all, cleared all mobs and vinewalls on both paths, still no achievement.
I hope that pets/minions etc do not count againt it. I tried on my ranger and let my pet ‘tank’ the mobs, while I stayed out of harms way.
Any workarounds to get this? Or truly bugged and not available?
When you look under basic collections, there are different collections for bioluminescent armor pieces.
For example luminescent headgear: you need all 3 carapace headgear, item from story mastery plus organs from the breach bosses. This will give you bioluminescent headgear.
Do this for all armor pieces to get full bioluminescent.
Are you sure it is the bioluminescence and not the carapace set you unlocked? My eyes may be deceiving me but the armor inthe picture looks like the carapace set.
Overall a little less grenade intensive than a power build, but grenades are just too good to not use for any engi build.
All the engineer builds revolve around grenades, because of their vuln stacking it has the highest effective coefficient for an engi AA, and because of shrapnel it also has the best condi dmg on an AA. It just happens to break your hand.
Also for pve, mortar chill plus freeze grenade will keep everything moving slow allowing all your grenades to hit with minimal effort.
Bound grenade1 to my mouse a little squeeze and we’re good. But yes, vuln + shrapnel. Though even with Nades Shrapnal seems to max out at around 8 stacks, and drops to about 4-5 depending on luck, and that’s spamming not even normal rotation. I can’t really get too excited about the trait, which is why I don’t consider Siege Rounds a bad alternative if you want the utility of an extra blast and longer fields.
Schrapnel also works with the mortar and toolbelt skills right? On paper it seems like those can give you access to a lot of extra bleeds, but in practice not really worth it?
Thank you both for your suggestions, i will definelty give these a go. I am stuck with rabid gear atm, have to save some more ecto’s before I can make sinister gear. Will adding some rampager (easaly bought on tp hihi) help with adding more power?
I like the sound of all those burning stacks, will give these a go, thanks.Rampager isn’t worth it. It’s simply too hybrid. You sacrifice condi damage which will be your focus for more crit chance but you lack the ferocity to really give it that oomph.
Sinister > Rabid > Rampager
Ok sticking with Rabid for the moment then, thank you.

I really enjoy switching builds to try out new things. I usually play open world PvE/living story, but i still like to play builds that work/have synergy with the utilities and the like. It doesn’t have to be truly ‘viable’ because i don’t plan to run dungeons, but still, it has to work.
With that said, There is one build i really liked, the FT/Elixer/juggernaut:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vdMQFAUlcThatY1Vw+KQ+FL3FV4EGQZG4CWABg4B9D5AA-TBSBAB0s/gsKBTS5nCm/uR9HU0BswDAAgLAAA-e
Now im looking for a dmg spec and a condi spec, but the builds i tried look and feel very similair, and i hope you can give me some tips/advice to make the builds i came up with better, since they both ended up with grenades as the main set. (which makes my dmg build feel like a hybrid)
Any advice/tips are very welcome
This morning I received, what looked like an phishing attempt, in my in-game mailbox:
“Account will be shut down.
We are sorry to inform you, that your login account meentje.8467 will be shut down or partially limited within 72 hours, due to currency transactions or abnormal login. If you want to remove remove restrictions, please click te following link: (funny looking link, not clickable). Please keep in mind that Guild Wars 2 is a global game with hundreds of thousands of players. This means that standards of behavior must be upheld.

It was labeled as send from another player, no GW logo, so clearly false.
Is my account still safe? I have the authenticater, and my login has a unique password.
I want to report this person, how do I do that? In-game?
Thank you.
(Edit: just now I dicovered the sticky thread about this.)

I think most people who trade gems to gold trade X amount of Gems instead of thinking of getting X amount of gold precisely.
To fix it the input box should be for the amount of gems to trade instead of the amount of gold to get. Like it was before it get broken in the name of hypothetical confused new player.
This. I want to be able to trade the amount of gems I want.
Now, I’m left with a small (under 10) amount of gems I cannot use, but I paid for those.
I really appreciate the the time and effort Anet put into adding the custom exchange, but still not being able to trade the gems I want, still miss it.
I think its great that they (re-) added the custom exchange, BUT I’m still missing something… The ability to type the amount of gems you want to convert to gold.
I can make it work with (for example) 498 gems to gold or 503 gems to gold, but not the 500 that I want. That still leaves me with spare gems I cannot use.
Good step in the right direction, but I really miss this option.
So far I’m not liking this new interface.
If I want to exchange 500 gems for gold, I don’t want it to say ‘nope, only 431 or 676 gems’. (For example)
The other way around, if I want to buy 200 (or 500) gems with gold, I don’t want it to say ’nope, you can buy 400 or 800 gems (For example)
If you must keep this new interface to prevent new players becoming confused, fine. At least add an extra tab for ‘the veterans’ for custom exchanges, just like the old system. This way, both parties are happy.
Another update, a good one this time
After looking in event viewer mentioned above, I have found the culprit:
“Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller is disconnected from network.”
Using google, I found a website that mentioned this error and how to fix it.
I don’t know if I may link it, but this is what it said:
“open Network and Sharing Center, click on Manage adapter settings, right click Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (Local Area Connection) and select properties. Click on configure, switch to advanced tab and change the following properties:
Auto Disable Gigabit > Relink Battery or AC
Green Ethernet > Disable
Energy Efficient Ethernet > Disable"
After making these changes, my ethernet has been stable, I haven’t lost connection once! (Knocks on wood)
I want to thank you again for the help. I am glad that this issue was fixable and that GW2 was not the cause of it.
(Edited the topic title to make it shorter (was too long) and to include [solved].
@Healix Thank for your reply, I’ll try that link you posted, and see what happends
@Brother Grimm Where can I find those Event Logs?
And I am using a static IP because if I dont, I frequently lose my connection because my network is “identifying”. using ipconfig/renew does not solve this issue.
Now that I have set a Static IP, I don’t have that problem anymore. But the loss of connection I have now, still persist.
Thank you for your replies, cheers
I would like to get an invite for student, please.
I have a lvl 80 Ranger. I am on EU.
Interested in learning all dungeons and fractals en how to use my class/build properly.
Thank you.
Hi there
Sorry for the late response, was busy the last few day.
Anyway, I did some testing using the WiFi connection instead of ethernet. Good news! Not once did my connection drop or anything! And I tried it for a few days. Funny detail: WiFi is using DHCP and gets both IP adres and DNS server automatically, unlike my ethernet.
So we can assume that it is an ethernet issue, not related to router or ISP?? (since wifi uses the same router and isp and has no issues)
Should I try updating my ethernet adapter with a windows 7 driver like you mentioned above?
Thanks again for the help. Cheers
PS: Only downside to the WiFi connection: GW2 is more laggy
Hi there,
First I want to say I really appreciate your effort to help me with this issue. Thank you
To answer all your questions:
Yes the other computers use DHCP. The DHCP range is 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.150.
So I changed my static IP to match 192.168.0.150. The other computers do not have problems obtaining an IP, and have no internet connectivity problems. (The router is a TP-Link TL-WR841N v8)
When I tried to use DHCP again it instantly began “identifying network”. Under services, both the DHCP client and the DNS client were active. Reactivating and stopping and activating did not solved this. Using the ipconfig/renew did not solve this. So I set it to my Static Ip again (192.168.0.150, 255.255.255.0, 192.168.0.1, DNS 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4). Doing this connected me to my network, but i still could not acces the web or GW2.
I made sure that TCP/IPv6 was turned off.
In the power management tab, the option to turn the device off was already unchecked.
In the LAN settings, automatically detect settings (for the proxy) was still checked.
McAfee is up to date, and the other PC’s also use McAfee.
There are no suspicious programs on my PC.
I am unable to reinstall windows, since it came pre-instlled on my PC and I do not have e disc. (Windows 8.1 64bit) Besides, my PC is only 3 months old, does it really need a fresh install?? I do not want to loose everything
I want to test something tomorrow, to see if this connection problem also happends when I am on Wi-Fi (so ethernet turned off).
Hi,
My results from doing the things you discribed:
————————————————-
If I lose my connection, the other PC’s have no problems, are still connected and my phone is still connected to the router via Wi-Fi.
Used “netsh winsock reset” and “netsh int ip reset” then rebooted my PC
————————————————-
Uninstalled my network adapter (Realtek PCIe GBE FAmily Controller)
After rebooting my PC, I was not prompted to select drivers.
It automatically installed version 8.18.621.2013
I manually installed version 8.34.617.2014
After that, I could play GW2 for 30 minutes before it said it lost connection the the server (can’t remember the error code). At that time my entire internetconnection dropped.
Ping results:

I do not use DHCP, because i have to use a static IP adress. This because if I use the Dynamic ones, I get connection problems because my network is “identifying”. I have to set this in my ethernet properties. If I set it to static in the router settings, I still have this problem. Using DHCP and set the lease time to max (2880 minutes) doesn’t solve this.
So my ethernet properties (TCP /IPv4) looks like this:
IP adress: 192.168.0.110
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS 1 8.8.8.8
DNS 2 8.8.4.4
I tried disabling and enabling my network, and made sure the bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections are turned of. PC said i was connected to my network, but I still coudn’t use the web or start GW2.
After rebooting my PC my connection was back. (It always does that).
Now I have to wait, to see it it happends again.
Did you see anything wrong with the things I posted? That could explain why I lose my connection?
Thank you for reading and thanks for your help
Hi Healix,
Thank you for your very detailed post.
I’ll try this all out when I get home from work.
I’ll keep you posted.
Hey there,
Im having a weird problem, it started a few months ago with my new PC (with windows 8.1). While playing GW2, at least once a day i lose my internet connection with no apparent reason. PC gives no notifications whatsoever. Using an Ethernet connection.
I tried the following with no succes:
Update networkcard driver
Update router firmware
New ethernet cable
Google DNS
I contacted Dell tech support (where my PC is from), maybe there is something wrong with my PC. They said is was a DNS problem.
So I contacted my ISP, no problems on their end, tried other DNS servers, the problem still persists.
Then I noticed that the problem occurs when I’m playing Guild wars 2. Can this game cause internet problems? Is there a setting somewhere that I need to adjust to prevent this from happening?
I don’t know what to do anymore, I hope you guys maybe have some insight to this problem.
Note: My PC does not give any notifications that my connection is lost. In fact, it says I am still connected. Only GW2, websites and the like, have no connection.
There are 2 other PC’s in the house (they have windows 7 if that makes a difference), also connected by ethernet cable to the same router. they do not have connectivity issues.
I hope someone can help me, since both Dell and my ISP have no solutions.
Thank you for your time
(PS I am from Europe, playing on an EU server)
EDIT: Forgot to mention I also tried disabling my antivirus (McAfee), and to flush dns using commandprompt.

So I just continued my story, starting at the battle of Claw island.
After the ‘a light in the darkness’ you choose a fear, i chose ‘letting an innocnet die’ (cause i like Tonn :P)
But, his story arc didnt show up. I initially thought this was because of the rearranging of the story steps. but i played till i had to defeat Zhaitan, and still no Fear story arc.
I assume this is a bug, I mean, they wont remove story steps like that, will they?
Also, this new order of story steps is really weird, most of the story doesn’t make sense now.
I am interested in joining as well, please send me an invite
I would really like an invite as well! I haven’t been able to take Teq down yet.
Omg… I feel so stupid right now! I was under the impression that deposited mini’s counted and that it didn’t matter how many you had in the collections tab.
Well, lesson learned!! Time to collect them again :P
Thanks for pointing this out, I wouldn’t have known otherwise.
Mods, feel free to close this thread, it was my own mistake and not a bug.
I send in a support ticket about this, but support directed me here, so here I am.
So, Yesterday I was working on my miniature collection Set I achievement. Before I started I was sure I was at 40/50, I had all the blues and greens and a few rares.
I purchased 9 rare miniatures I was sure I didn’t have before. I deposited them, and sold them again to use that gold to save up for the more expensive exotic miniatures.
After Selling them, I looked at my achievement page, only to see I’m still at 40/50 miniatures collected.
I think this must be some sort of bug, where the deposited miniatures don’t count towards the total miniatures collected.
I hope I don’t have a problem now, because I sold the miniatures again.
In any case, I hope you can help me with this issue.
Alright thanks so much!! And here I thought that preview was after the storm wizard boss, haha
Thank again!
So I have beaten the Storm Wizard several times now and afterwards I am transported to a new area with Robbers. It says it is a Bonus level. But after the time runs out I get transported back to the hub.
So how do I get to the Genie??
Thanks for the help.
Hmmm, I see, thank you for the feedback Not as good as a reference as i thought, hehe.
Yes, I realize most classes have ways to mitigate damage, but as a basis, this is still a good guideline?? So if I can take a few hits or die when a mob looks at me wrong, hehe :P
I have found this while google-ing about effective health:
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/60838-math-damage-reduction-toughness-and-vitality/
The part i am using atm is this:
health*armor/10000=
0 – 3500 Break on touch
3501 – 4000 Fragile
4001 – 4500 Middle ground
4501 – 5000 Durable
5001 – 5500 Tanky
5501 – 6000 Built to last
6001 - Moving Fortress
Now my question is, is this still a good way to tell how survivable you are?? Since its almost a year old…
Thanks in advance
:D
Wow, she is beautifull!! thank you so much!!
is that eirs armor in the second sets?
Yes it is!! It’s the Tier 3 cultural armor.
Oh my, your art is truly amazing!!
Would love it if you could draw my norn ranger!!
Thanks for doing this, Fsnow.
Tho my character has had a change of look since the last pictures
You may choose the one you like most, but i prefer the second look :P
I look forward to the drawing Thanks again.
can conform that it is working on Vabbi, just guested there.
any server has the temple of Grenth uncontested?? need it for my gear
Thank you for your post Ryan, this is really helpfull.
With this advice I did some experimenting with a mix of rampager en rabid for the toughness. Including ascended gear for theory :P
I ended up with 50% crit chance, 18262 HP with 2650 armor en still decent numbers on condi dmg and power. Im gonna give this a go soon, lets see how it works out!
Thanks for all the input
First, thanks for the responses!
To clarify, I want to use the traps for the condition damage, not control.
Maybe my first post was a bit unclear, I’ll try to elaborate:
I want to go for a condition trapper build, I now run a 0/30/30/5/5 build.
Currently I invest heavy on condi dmg via full Carrion gear.
But, because of the ‘bleed on crit’ trait, and various sigils that add conditions on crit, I wonder if this is the correct way to go.
So my question is, will this build be ‘better’ or more ‘valiable’ if I add precision to the mix? Maybe in the form of Rampager or Rabid gear? Or a mix of all three?
If it is, is like 50% crit chance a good number to aim for?
Hope this clears up the question a bit
thanks for the responses!
Oldgrimm, I’ll check that thread
Hello, I main a Ranger an run a trapper build:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fMMQNBlODbkoKuuuSvC1SA0ekpkYyeYojP+F4FUxCpATkAKYMwIgxqlDGJMrKGLsFB
Up untill now i’ve been using full exotic Carrion gear. But when watching vids about this build, I notice a lot of people focus more on precision, because of the bleed on crit trait.
So, since i don’t have presicion in my gear/trinkets, Am i gimping myself?
Should I get more Rampager/Rabid gear to make the most out of this build?
Any advise would be appriciated. Thanks
I think its the full set of the heavy Citadel of Flame dungeon armor.

I’ll try to give you a step by step guide, I’ll use leatherworking as an example, but most crafts use the same principle (jewelry and cooking are slightly different).
Apologies in advance if some things are way to obvious, but i’ll just write everything down i know.
Make sure you have gathering tools equiped en collect (mine/chop/gather) everything you come across. Also monsters drop fine crafting materials They will end up in your inventory. right click and choose deposit collectible so put it in your bank. this will save inventory space.
1. First talk to a master crafter of your chosen craft. They are found next to a crafting station in every major city. For example the master leatherworker. Choose the option ‘please teach me to be a leatherworker’.
2. Go to the crafting station. On the left side are 4 tabs. the first one is the discovey tab. Here you will discover the recipes you havent already learned. Second tab is the production tab. Here you will make refinements, components and insignia’s with the materials you found in the world (for example copper ore, green wood logs, vials of blood etc). You will combine these in the dicovery tab. Third is the bank. Fourth tab is the collections tab. Here are all you materials stored, when you use ‘deposit collectible’ option. Also, some things can’t be found out in the world, but are bought at the master crafter (for example lumps of tin or spools of jute thread)
3. when you start crafting, go to the production tab. Start by refining materials. You use these for making components. For example: you have to make bolts of jute. In order to make that you need jute scraps. 2 scraps make 1 bolt.
4. Next step is making components, for example gloves. You need to make the rawhide glove strap and the rawhide glove lining. These will use bolts of jute, spool of jute thread and stretched rawhide leather square. When you click on a component you will see how much you need of which refinements.
5. Next is to make an insignia/inscription. For example the mighty jute insignia. This will need a bolt of jute and bone chips (depends on which insignia you make, but they will use fine crafting materials that drop from monsters).
6. Now that you’re done with crafting the different components, you got to the discovery panel. Drag your rawhide glove lining, rawhide glove strap and mighty jute isnignia from the left side of the panel to the right side, into the empy squares. When all 3 components are there, you hit the craft button. Voila, you have made Mighty gloves!
7. These are just the basics to get started. now you know how to craft, you can use the sites mentioned by others above, to craft all the way to lvl 400.
Hope this helped, good luck.
And again sorry, if some things were to obvious or you already knew them.
Temple open on Whiteside Ridge since a few minutes ago
thanks for the input.
I’ll think I’ll stay where I am now. Cause I play alot with my friends and family and they do not want to transfer. Gonna find my way in my new guild.
I am having a dilemma. My guild on Whiteside Ridge transferred to Seafarer’s rest, mostly for WvW reasons. I was sad when I heard and I’m still debating if I should make the transfer or not. I was hoping some input from fellow players may help me make a decision.
So here is the deal. I like my server. I have friends and family here outside my guild. I feel like I would abandon them if I transfer, or feel selfish if I ask them to transfer as well. But maybe that’s just me being silly, lol.
I tried joining a new guild on WR and even tho they are friendly people, it doesn’t feel like ‘my’ guild yet. Maybe it’s to early to tell?? I don’t know.
Maybe I’m just afraid of the unknown. A new home server, new players.. Will I like it there?? Only one way to find out, i know. Perhaps it’s no big deal and I make it appear bigger then it is. But I still find it hard to decide. Because I like my guildies (the ones who tranferred) a lot as well.
I hope you can give me some advice on what to do. Thanks in advance.

awesome vid!! thanks for posting
im looking to get the superior runes of the traveler set for my armor.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rune_of_the_traveler
Rune #1,3,5 give magic find.
Do these numbers stack? So that I have 50% MF in the end?
Or to these numbers replace each other? so with 1 rune i have 10% MF, with 5 i have 25%?
Thanks in advance
same for me on Whiteside Ridge server
In Metrica Provence, the skill point where you interact with a panel to start Oola’s quiz, is bugged. The panel cannot be interacted with.
