Broken, guess you missed the lvl 400 artificer requirement part I mentioned that is needed to make the account bound only item called Mystery Tonic, which is a requirement in the mad king chest recipe.

According to http://gw2craftmap.bteamgaming.com/ there are on average 19 orichalcum ore nodes in the world.

You only need to waypoint twice. For that distance it is almost 5 silver and the ones in orr dont need waypoints (start at the right and work your way to the left). At the most, youll spend 10 silver gathering the 19 nodes.

According to http://www.gw2db.com/items/654-orichalcum-ore , the ore sells for at least 3 silver each.

19 * 3 = 57 silver minus (max travel cost —> 10 silver) = 47 silver profit for little work. Plus, while you are in the areas that have orichalcum ore nodes you can do a few events and gain high worth items, karma, and exp.

Stop doing events in areas less than lvl 60 if you are so concerned about waypoint costs at lvl 80.

Think of D3 minus the gear grind, better synergy between classes/professions, and more variation in viable builds (though you still have your cookie-cutters).

Probably not the fairest comparison, but just to give you the jist I suppose.

D3 was a waste of my time and only took 12 horus to beat it on every class

last I checked t3 was lvl 80 and fireheart was not an 80 zone

I went with below and got the best appearance w/o changing any other settings and noticed my FPS go from an average of 30s to 50-60 on max ingame settings (minus the Antialias that needs to be off for it to work):

Forcing ambient occlusion is causing issues with backgrounds reflecting on any surface at certain camera angles, usually when the camera is set close to the ground.

Be careful with these Sweet* programs from those sites, I accidentally downloaded (well it didn’t download but immediately started installing) SweetIM when I went to get Driversweep from that site and I was not happy about that, it was difficult to uninstall and had to do some searching and found out that these Sweet* programs are viruses/spyware.

So… chances are your login/pw is probably out in the open now.

sweetfx is not a virus and does not auto install. its a zip file, which requires user interaction to do anything.

I’ve never been the type of person to earn money easily in an MMO. The decision to therefore save for the T3 asura light cultural chest was one I didn’t make lightly.

Saving what I can, I finally got myself into a position tonight where I had 28g in my inventory and a couple gold worth of exotics on the tradepost. Knowing that I would be able to buy my coat tomorrow if they sold, I ran over to Rata Sum and started previewing the other items to decide what else I would save for and what I would skip. Since I like all the asura armor, I went to go preview some of the other sets as well.

Unfortunately, the preview/purchase issue hit me, so now I’m stuck with some medium gloves that are absolutely useless to my mesmer, and that I cannot transfer to an alt (if I were to make one) because they’re soulbound, not account bound. I wasn’t even being hasty. One right click, one left right exactly in the middle of the preview button.

Is my only choice really to sell them back for 1.5g? They’re a bind on acquire item. It’s really depressing that I can’t just sell them back to the vendor at cost.

I agree with the two above.

I have played Elementalist(11), Mesmer(31), Engineer(80), Warrior(10), Ranger(12), and Gaurdian(11). They all seemed to have the same amount of power to me. It alld epends on how you play them. If you stack vitality and toughness on a Engineer, you get one tanky engineer, but doesnt deal much power. Stack Power and Vitality on a Engineer, you get semi durable, high damage Engineer. Power and Precision, you deal pounds of damage but cant take a hit.

Its all int he player. If you know how to counter a class, or get the most out of yours, your good to go.

Thieves are good, but I know how to counter them, so its whatever.

I have played:
Elementalist(18) annoyed at skills, dies easily
Mesmer(7) so far its been fun
Engineer(5) so far its been fun
Warrior(80) lvl 82 gear = unstoppable in cursed shore
Ranger(48) fun but somewhat slow
Gaurdian(45) so far its been fun

You could have made the entire set for 6g

IF your card has an M in it then you should probably invest in a pc that is not a laptop or one that has a high-end card in it that is not on the motherboard. the game is optimized, its your system that is the issue.

duno, my buddy with his 5870m is playing just fine at 1920×1080......the chips in effect a low power/binned 5770….

the fact is, they advert this game with recommend specs that should be minimum, and recommended should be a low to mid high end gaming rig…..

Rukia: chill please, they have been trying to fix event bugs and bugs with umbra and and and…..they just dont got enough people to get the kind of fixes you want(everything fixed in a month) even blizzard dont have that, MoP is still buggy….my buddy has been putting in bug reports a couple times a day as he plays and finds issues….(he got it free from a friend who wanted him to play WoW because the guy refuses to even try anything else)

the game needs optimized, it needs debuged…..anet need time to do this, they probably need more staff working on it as well but….. but thats something they would need to take up with ncsoft since it would cost money to hire more people and ncsoft own anet…..

I’m confused at how legal it is, I mean they are making a profit, no doubt, on this product… On one hand I’m not sure it’s illegal and on the other hand I know they want you to report people selling gold but… then what are they going to do about it? I updated the drivers today actually.

And other games run very smoothly on pretty high settings. On a good day i can run Skyrim and SWTOR on max. Its weird that i have to kill some processes.

I will check the ram, re-download and reinstall the game, and then i`ll come back to say if it worked.

I can get to the char screen and have no problems. I then enter the game with any char and in seconds it freezes and graphics get all wierd (non-full screen)… full screen there are pixilated lines evenly spaced across the screen running vertical – it then freezes.

I have played through beta and up until last night and have had zero problems. I returned home today and turned on computer… logged in and had the issues.

I also tried Diablo III and have the same issue… So I fear its my computer… hoping it’s just a microsoft update but not sure??

I can close the window and the window “sticks” but if I open up IE I can use IE to “wipe” the stuck window graphics away. In full screen mode I need turn off the computer (hard shutdown).

Thoughts?

This game is broke. It has no linear fps curve. It doesn’t matter how much you try to make the game look as kitteny as possible, your fps will remain constant or change very little. It’s the games fault.

SO much this. Game is nigh unplayable on an nvidia card, doesn’t even matter if it’s high or low end. I get under 10 FPS in large events and WvW, it’s quite sad really. I expected this crap to be fixed after at least a month, what have we gotten? Absolutely ZERO improvements in performance. Just HORRIBLE.

I haven’t even played for more than an hour in over 2 weeks now because not being able to play every aspect of the game sucks because of ANets incompetence with their own engine. I mean really, from GW1 which could play on ultra with zero issues on a computer that could hardly handle D2 to this… woah.

Just another reason why WoW, or any other MMO is better than GW2 right now. Unfortunately I probably won’t even log in for the halloween event.

patch gave me stuttering in snowy areas post-patch. Nvidia released new drivers this past week. Install the drivers, they fixed the issue for me.

I want to know if anyone know whether changing the resolution to a small res makes a difference? I know in other computer games, it has for me, but when I change it in this game, it makes no affect. Well the launcher shows 1.17MB/s That equates to about 8 or 9 Mb/s Ran a speedtest while downloading and I still have about 3 Mb overhead left

1Mbps/s is bandwidth
1MB/s file size downloading a second

More bandwidth = higher download speed HOWEVER if the site you are downloading from limits you then it becomes irrelevant.

The patcher could be strained and only allowing you to download at 1.17MB/s.

Hello tech people, I bought a gainward 660 gtx 2gb a few weeks back however, I’ve been having troubles trying to update it to the newest driver, each time I’ve tried to update to each different driver it have given me horrid fps in any game I play, GW2, Sleepings dogs and what so ever.

The only stable driver that gives me good performance is the driver on the CD which I got from the pack. But updating it via their website or anywhere else to a newer one seems to give me these fps problems. I’m talking about 5-10 fps in all games.

Running on my vendor driver again, just completely uninstalling everything doesn’t work either.

A game that takes a lot of bandwidth cannot be compared to a browser that uses very little. So, to say your internet is fine based on your browser loading pages is flawed logic.

I am wondering if a full set of Tough/Vit gear would help me be better off as a melee warrior in WvW. I am currently using hammer + sword/shield with full Knights armor/wep + berserkers jewels. I usually go around with small group of guildies to raid camps and what not.

I’m looking for a good balance of offense and defense. If anyone of you have tried both knights armor and the tough/vit armor, I would appreciate your experience on it and input. Would it help my survivability?

Also if I change my trinkets, would my damage be really low? Thanks in advance

Did you know that it cost 150 skill points to get the remaining material from Miyani? My guess is 150 skill points is worth roughly 30g.

I’ve been bothered for a while now by the fact that crafting, in GW2, just isn’t a viable way to make money. In the vast majority of cases, items aren’t worth the materials you’d use to make them.

I’m of the belief that crafting should be a way to make money, but to be honest I’m not sure what changes could be made in GW2 to ensure that that’s possible. Even if there were items that could only be crafted, the nature of the trading post would likely lead to the same situation we have now: materials being worth more than the item produced.

So what can be done to help make crafting profitable?

Some rare items, to purchase the materials cost, as an example, 2g to make, whereas they are sold for 1g. That is a 1g loss. The reason? The ones selling for 1g probably went and mined the material themselves. So, unless you’re willing to go and mine the materials yourself to make that rare 1g worth item then don’t bother with trying to make crafting profitable when you buy the materials.

umm, over the past two days I went and got 4 lvl 400s.

here were the costs (I bought all materials)

Armorsmith – 5g
Weaponsmith -5.4g
Jeweler – 5.5g
Huntsman – 5g

just randomly running around with FPS up and notice every s often I drop in FPS then I noticed the mountain reflect when there is nothing for it to reflect on (eg water).

Also, for some reason, the screenshot taken with all reflection and none reflection produced the same image. I had to window made the game to take the screenshot without the reflection in it for the none setting.

Did the math and it doesn’t make any sense to me. A superior rune of holding costs 10g and is required to craft a 20 slot bag. 4 gold will easily get you 400 gems (closer to 800) which is enough to get an extra bag slot. That leaves another 6 gold to craft 2 10-slot bags. You could even get 2 18 slot bags and 2 extra bag slots for less than it would cost to make 1 20 slot bag.

That means that the only point in getting a 20 slot bag is for the novelty of it, but you can’t even really show it off. I suppose if you bought all of the bag slot upgrades and then wanted to fill them with 20 slot bags… but I don’t even know what the max number of bag slots you can buy is, and that is a lot of inventory spaces.

Last I checked (last night), 4g will get you at least 800 gems.
