Wintersday hat is dud. Mad King gave witch’s hat that was tied to the Halloween theme.
I expected Winter themed hat but they have us another witch/wizard hat.
And they put the santa hat in the gem store. I know ANet wants people to spend money in gem store but… just wow…
Mad King >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tixx
Name him Peter.
“Oh my! I’m not brainstorming. I’m having a brain hurricane!”
Thank you guinea pigs, you saved me from wasting my big pile of ugly soxes
Town clothes failed because ANet basically forces people to buy costumes from gem store if you want variation. There are no ‘free’ clothes to add.
Not to mention the ones in the store are completely out of character. Boxing gloves? WTF? Why not add all the NPC clothing? There are few that I would’ve actually bought.
Also the appearance tab. Almost every MMO players want this but developers refuse to add it. Why is that?
This event lasts till Jan. 3rd. Plenty of time to take it slow.
Another thing that helps is, don’t try to get everything. You won’t. So, just give up. That way if you do get something rare, you’ll be ecstatic.
If you do the event solely for the loots, you’ll be broke because that part of the game is known as Gamble Wars 2.
And the jumping puzzle is much easier than Halloween’s; I was a bit disappointed.
That’s the issue. People are whining from their own stupidity.
But ANet isn’t exactly advertising that the boxes are hit or miss (mostly miss).
If you bought 200 lotto tickets and didn’t win, would you go complaining to the lottery/gaming board?
You’re one of the many reasons why ANet will keep rolling out these gambling boxes.
Smarten up and don’t waste your money on them.
Indeed this was much easier than Mad King’s Clock Tower. It took me about 40minutes to beat that one.
I beat the Wintersday JP in my 3rd try.
You got to know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em,
Know when to walk away, know when to run.
I’m really hating the way GW2 is going. FotM is serving as the raid. Everyone just hangs out there, with good reason.
But at the cost of dead zones; it was dead before, it’s even more so now.
All of this is thanks to the loots. Don’t design your game to be based on better loots=win concept. It does provide players with progression but it breaks so many things as well…
Hate to say this but Given ANet’s service records, they probably aren’t going to be ‘mailing’ precursors to people as they were not guaranteed rewards.
“Sorry, you dc, you lose.” – ANet
ps. I got dc’d as well
Wow dropping significant rewards in the lagfest event is a brilliant stroke of genius ANet. B-R-A-V-O
This was absolutely the stupidest idea from ANet. Didn’t they learn from the Halloween event? Players don’t want 1 time only event that will flood and crash servers.
A miserable failure ANet. Don’t ever do this again.
Maximum mail you can get (from other players) is 10.
I used to be able to receive up to 10. Not anymore.
I’m only getting 6. I wasn’t getting mails when I only had 6 in the inbox.
Deleted 1 mail and got a new one instantly – just like backed up mail.
What’s going on?
Anet has fetish with RNG. If you’re paying real money for something, that shouldn’t be random. Down with lottery.
Anet should just get rid of MF from gears and have it only in consumables.
Problem solved.

Dr. Naomi Hunter (Metal Gear Solid)
Did you notice their legs? They look like humpty dumpty with those short skinny legs. Way too top heavy.

Another form of gear inspection. Don’t want/need in GW2.
I like the item type tabs idea.
On that note, in that other MMO, when you buy token-based items, you have 2 hours grace period to get a full refund for the purchased item.
Any modifications to the item ends the grace period. I’d like to see this implemented.
One day I looked at my guild window and found bunch of strangers in the member list.
Turns out I invited them to the guild instead of the party.
Add optional gear-inspection to be toggled on or off. No one asked for gearscore, no one asked for WoW. Nothing about it is elitist. Worried about not being invited to a group? There has already been group-stacking where players specifically look for Warriors and Guardians and refuse to use other classes.
The players afraid of gear inspection clearly have confidence issues. Your privacy isn’t violated, and no one actually cares that much about how you, as a stranger, choose to play. It’s not about that.
Elitists whine is the only reason for gear inspection.
It’s like you join a mountain climbing trip and they send you home because you’re not wearing Arc’teryx. Here’s an idea, don’t group with the rest of the player base.
2. To help parties and guilds gauge a player’s effectiveness in a dungeon, add player inspection to GW2. There is so much more that can and needs to be done towards this end, inspection is not asking for much. I want to know if our party is carrying someone in Cultural Tier 3 with a bad spec and level 65 trinkets, and I want to know when somebody is wearing magic find.
No. Leave that garbage out of GW2. If you want that, yup you got it, go back to Wow.
Hated that elitism bullcrap, everyone yelling minimum GS, Achievements, blah blah.
Why couldn’t they make more racial armors, especially helmets.
In concept arts, Charr have cool helmets.
They have chance to create really awesome looking helmets based on animals which would look ridiculous on humans.
eg. Wolf(insert animal with long muzzle) helmet that has anatomically correct head rather than a squashed muzzle.
Putting 40 exotic level 80 Staffs into the Mystic Forge and guess what happened?

Your luck has to be legendary to make these. Hence the item type.
Thank goodness to me it’s just 0,1s with a bunch of pretty pixels.
I like T3 cultural armors. But at current prices, they’are too expensive.
I would like to see the price halved. But don’t see that happening.
The high price has more impact on player decision than other MMOs because gold you make can be traded to gems (real money currency in-game).
Even if I had the gold to buy it I would probably buy gems for more sensible use of my earnings.
You have money to get an Omega but you will settle for Timex and loads of booze, for example.
Now only if they were also purchasable with karma..
Sylvari female – Mary Juana, male – Gourdfather
I get this constantly when I don’t move around – looking at inventory, traits.
Im a little annoyed that all these people who didnt get the game on release or were too lazy to level up are expecting to have all these items handed to them at level 1.
What is wrong with Anet rewarding high level players with content when they have worked hard and supported the game from the beginning.
Iv supported this game from the beginning, I bought the art of guild wars 2 book when it was released YEARS ago.
I prepurchased the game and have have 2 lvl 80 characters and a lvl 65.
I dont think its wrong for people like me to benifit from these events more than others because we have worked harder and prepared.
I dont think its wrong for me to want to be rewarded for my support and hard work over people who just bought the game a week ago and now want all this high end content for free.
I bought over 2000 gems for this event with gold that I earned through legitimate means. Let me benifit form that please.
We don’t need that kind of elitist attitude in GW2.
My brother and I are stuck on this quest.
Basically, zombies stop coming after 2 waves when defending the gate (after the lumber camp).
We both completed Forging Pact, Tower Down, To the Core together.
They spent a lot of dough, I’m sure they would want to show off all the time..
It would be nice to have emote menu in the chat window – listing all emote commands.
Or at least a chat help that lists all available emotes.
As of now, only emote I see is dance.
