Here’s an idea: Don’t transfer with hundreds of players everytime a relink happens and it would actually balance itself at some point. Basically what Svarty said.

This usually happens after NPCs, Weapons and finally your char goes invisible after coming out of a transformation (lich, tornado etc.), hope this will get fixed too as those are kinda related imo.
Also make ascalonian potion work like the way it behaved before because that was a good workaround for the invisble bug.

Yes, was good adjustment. Reset vs GH and SFR as Gandara resulted into playing fractals as MU ded. Thanks Anet.

Problematic with that idea is that would be people changing maps to secure a high tick. Same problem arises when a zerg switches map to rush something, how do you calculate that? Is there a period of let’s say 2 or 3 ticks where the % doesn’t get updated? Lot’s of issues which could lead to potential abuse and/or even less fights I think.

The points you get per tick are still way to high. Needs more points per capture and way less points per tick. That way activity from all servers would get rewarded instead of onesided karmatrain. That would not solve population imbalance though as the issue could be still that a much larger group just backcaps all the stuff.

The problem is just that by now (and for quite some time) the game mode servers to many playstyles which just not go hand in hand where balance without making one group mad is impossible. There’s no clear vision of what the game mode is actually supposed to do and no balance around that.

Deployable Cannons in beta! [Merged]

So, the cannons have issues that need to be adressed ASAP:
- No Decay timer like other deployable siege.
- Not counting toward local siege cap (5 sieges in 2000 radius) and problably not to the map cap either.
- Not being affected by critical hit or conditions.

And also there is another issue that people are complaining that cannons behind gates completely turned rams useless. While Trebuchets already fill that role, I would suggest an adjustment to make it a bit more fair: Reduce the AoE radius of the Deployable Cannons attacks to the same of the siege disabler. This would allow people to still place rams far in the back to avoid cannons behind gates (Trebuchets still hit anyway) while allowing cannons to punish poorly placed rams.

This says it all. What’s the poll worth if the implementation is so poor?

It seems there was 0 thought behind those deployable cannons behind “omg how cool would that be” showing yet again how disconnected anet devs are from this game mode.

Can we please get anyone from anet actually playing wvw as a main game mode and that please not only on NA but also EU (to experience the german siege …). Then you can actually get rid of all those stupid polls and maybe implement stuff which is useful and needed.

Just found one, haven’t seen it in the first post. Enemy upgrades keep on your border to t3. Even though you consta contest the WP stays open for them.

Also checked, no guild upgrades on the keep.

have the same problem atm, tried with the twisted watchwork portal, didn’t work either. is there actually any game mode in this game which doesn’t have bugs like this?

Same problem for me, achievements stuck and also rytlock stuck now. I think he gets stuck when you try to interact with the page next to him.

Same for our two man party just now .. got him to the last gliding phase. My glider didnt activate and for some reason i couldn’t jump up again and died. Now i’m stuck above and can’t do anything.
The other one is still down was told to spam the rift but it didn’t make him lose the invuln. Rift gone now and we are stuck. I wonder how the rift can disappear and blocking progress completely.

I opened the instance btw. so maybe it’s that too.

I do not like the new map at all. It’s way to big and all those small pathways leading to any place but not the place you want to go are really bleh.
The last 1 1/2 years I spent 95% of my time in wvw but so far, although I’d really like to just enter the BL, I just don’t because it’s zero fun for me there.

No one wants to spend half an hour looking for a fight for the chance to search for ages for the same spot again if you die.

I guess it’ll just end up as Karma train/Eotm style, so either it’s EB or nothing.
Roaming? More like hide and seek.
Zerging? Welcome to pirateship playstyle with all those chokes.

SImple maps would’ve been so much better. I also didn’t get an invite to the beta for those maps so this was the first time seeing them.

Try adding “/clientport 80” at the end of the target in the launcher property.

Create a launcher shortcut, right click on it > property > in the target field add /clientport 80 at the end.

Worked for me so far, at least you can give it a try, good luck.

So far this has been working for me just did a full run of fracs on lvl 9 going to do a run on lvl 19 to see if it still works will keep other people updated on my progress. Also if you’re trying this method make sure the port is open to your network.

Could play for a bit today, now mega lag spike and dc and every second try I can actually make it past the login screen. When I then want to go to EB i’m stuck in loading screen. Restarting the game and not even getting past the loading screen of LA or even to character select.

Some feedback to that would be epic.

And now that it went well for half an hour i’m getting dced every 30s while TS is not lagging at all and all the rest is working smooth. 10 min before half our zerg in the BL dced too

Managed to get back in just for reset, was pressing f when everybody ran into a wall without me dcing for a minute. Restarted the game then and reset already happened << … anet pls freaking change the hamsters in the basement << (also in reference to the super massive wvw lag thread in the other forum .. hint hint)

As the title describes it … got disconnected after I already had massive lag spikes 10 min before. Now the game doesn’t let me back in.

Gaile pls do me a favour. Go to the dev team, throw the words “automated testing” in the room and watch their expression, if it’s either a) fear or b) laughter i may suggest a new dev team. This is really not good advertisement for HoT .. i just imagine the same quality coming with the expansion …

WvW queue broken for me … queued for 30 min not on position move, relogged queue was down 10 places. queued again for 20 min no position change and so on and so on …

If this is the kind of content ANet has planned for WvW then it’s clear to me that ANet isn’t capable of creating the kind of content I enjoy, and I guess I should move on.

The problem is that anet has absolutely no clue what they want wvw to be as in what players they want to attract to it. It seems they just want to get everybody which doesn’t work at all. (that could be said about the other game modes as well but I don’t play them that much that I care about them).

Anet, identify your target audience (side note: it’s already there .. just read the bloody forum) for that game mode and actually work for them and do not freaking try to be good at everything which ends up in this mess which is the golem event.

It certainly favours offensive builds a lot more than defensive.

Only problem I have with the map so far are the trebs, they are way to powerful especially when you fight in 2v1 or something anyway. I’d like it if the trebs only deals damage to the NPCs and/or drains supps from players (make it drop so everyone can pick it up)

Same here .. not a massive queue but was already lagging in keep like crazy when the fight in SM was going on. Also Gandara MU here, also around 10 min ago.

Even for PVE it was unnecessary because when do you even use stability in PVE?

Well no what most ppl would say is a counter a true counter to a zerg is hitting a big group all at once. Say if lava faun had no aoe cap now by dropping this on a zerg you make them need to spread out or they will all get hit. That what lines for the stab changes is doing its making some spells and ability have no cap that are very powerful if ppl stay very blobly trying to drop the dmg of most ability that cap at 5.

Also please stop using the world “pve” as some type of boogie man wvw need some level of pve or it would be who ever has the most simply wins. Or it would be so boring with in the first few months that no one would play it becuse every one has done every thing and fought every one already. You got to give a reason to fight ppl do not fight for nothing.
That and the new maps have no more pve then the old bl but they do have less pve that is about making your self stronger then the old bl.

Added note: PvE is the life blood of MMORPGs with out it your game simply will never get big nor will it last long.

I’m using it because I wonder why they made they change and I can’t come up why, there was no bad mouthing there being a pver myself. Maybe better stop thinking that every time pve is mentioned here that means something bad. It goes both ways you know.

Anyway, my point is, you don’t win a fight because your group has stability but you will certainly lose it when you don’t have some at all. With the current system it’s more or less who can place lines and cc better. Fighting in a choke point as a smaller group (who might not even have access to that much ranged cc) is almost impossible now.

Not surprised .. but that doesn’t mean i’m willing to just sit here and do nothing about it even though it never gets fixed before the patch actually goes live.

I have an average ping of 70 after the patch in EB (gandara) but it’s unplayable since. Skills activate never or after 5 seconds, people can’t res, people can’t stomp … the screen just gets wobbly, i hear skill callouts from other players and overall it’s just totally broken.

Did I not pay attention and this is actually a hidden Beta?

Edit: also the skill lag does not only happen when there are zergs around, it’s happening when i’m also standing alone at spawn.

Removal Of WvW Map Completion In Patch

I’m fine with this if Anet also removes the Power of the Mists bonuses for everyone who doesn’t participate in WvW.
(Maximum examples given)
+20% chance of a critical crafting success
+10% Defense against monsters
+10% Endurance regeneration
+20% Chance of additional mining/harvesting/logging node uses
+10% Healing Effectiveness
+10% Maximum health
+10% Bonus coin per kill
+10% Experience per kill

I so no reason at this point that the WvW players should be supporting the PvE’ers if the PvE players can’t be bothered to support the WvW’ers who earn these bonuses for them with the occasional foray into WvW.

Granted, some of you many not think these bonuses are worthwhile and I’ve provided the maximum examples (some servers earn lower rewards based on their score), but that’s how I feel.

Also, I completely agree that it’s time to give the WvW’ers some really nice incentives (skins, buffs, something!). Perhaps some quantity of the old WvW Tournament Tickets could be given out weekly for wvw participation and they could be used on the existing rewards which require those tickets and newer neat things could be added. (LET US BUY DUNGEON TOKENS WITH BADGES OR TOURNIE TICKETS PLEASE!)

I am having no issues. They can’t fix what is kittenly happens to some players. Please check your connection, the number of hops to the game server, any problems in between AND if your ISP is not throttling. All of this can cause issues.

Not saying there isn’t a problem with the servers but if the servers were bad ALL players would have the issue.

Yeh right, my ISP is at fault because that issue happens for half of our players on only one map ingame while the rest is perfectly fine? (including all other maps wvw and pve related and all other internet services I use)

It’s no fun to play in EB at all when half of your people get dced every 10 min due to those lagspikes.

Currently those connection issues are back to how they were before the season. So whatever anet did with the patch which should’ve improved performance it failed on EB.

Also it’s not my internet if half of our zerg gets a dc and then people say half of the enemy zerg are gone too at the same time.

The closest? not really. When I was on my mesmer yesterday every time pressed tab it selected some enemy on the other side of the group and not the enemy who was just in front of me (the one who is trying to kill me), then the guards, then some other stuff and so on. It’s quite annoying.

I see a lot of people with relatively high level WvW ranks going for map completion. It’s something they do because they happen to be ganking people outside my keep and need the vista on that character (for example.) Red is dead.

On the other hand if it’s an assaulter rank or something trying to hop to a vista, I’ll probably ignore them.

I don’t get the obsession in killing everything from some people.
upscaled assaulter/invader? always leave them .. ofc it’s pvp but that doesn’t mean that everybody has to behave like a child. The upscaled invader you kill now will just become the emote spamming, siege throwing, cheese build running guy who ganks you with his 4 teammate soon but I’m sure most people here don’t have a problem with that too.

I have seen the Tag on FSP from Grouch, waved at him he waved back (I might have send a Bladetrail towards him by accident >_>) and the FSP Zerg he was running with was behaving excellent at that time (not a single skill was used against me even when I stood next to the zerg and we all know that there are always a handful in a pug group who can’t restrain themselves from chasing a single lootbag)

Well I had a decent response, but I’m just fed up about that coverage bs… anet fix your freaking game (that includes siege disablers … since they do nothing else than being a pain for when you actually want to play offensive against better coverage).

I don’t know how often we went to help after someone called in mapchat “INC Garri” only to find 5 people there killing guards and two of our pugs already on the siege. Therefore +1 Ragnar (also for the other reasons)

Also if our guild group fights other guild groups it will be less time for them to actually try to capture stuff.

Because you gaining 1 point or maybe 3 from stomp will change the course of the matchup right ? LOL

It will .. if I’m not mistaken Gandara made around 60% (could be also 40%) of their points last season from stomps,
If you are in a close matchup every stomp counts.

It would have definitely looked different but there’s still a problem with this.

This patch wasn’t made for people who play the game…at least the part of the patch people are complaining most about. It was made for people who don’t.

But we have all been new players at some point. It’s about asking the right questions to the right people.
“What did you find difficult when starting your first character in GW2?” paired with a “What’s your MMO experience?” question etc. etc.

Connected with the player names you also have a nice overview about what the casual and “hardcore” players think (just based on hours played, numbers of toons/levels etc.)

Every change which encourages me to think about what I do and how I set up my build instead of just copy and paste from (insert famous yt vid here) is a welcome change. So far I don’t even feel the changes to warr so much since the patch.

Go to LA to the Lion statue and talk to the achievement guy. It’ll unlock the spoon achievement.

Got one too yesterday but I’m still not sure if I can just destroy it after it unlocked in the AP panel.
