I think this season was a fail. I already see option C happening, and as a result it has made WvW way less exciting than it was before leagues. They can not have any type of competition until they sort out some of the major issues facing WvW. What is the point of a league if the outcome, because of how it is set up, is already determined before it starts.
Yeah Anet, sell those build slots like bank slots. Extra money for ya’ll and more convenient play for us!
I agree, this season was a large fail. Too many problems plaguing WvW for it to even be close to competitive. Then they add this change into WvW when they said their would be none. I thought that the season would work well at first, but it is looking like it is going to do more harm than good. I feel like WvW is becoming less competitive and attractive to play then it was before leagues.
There is another thread on this, but I’ll summarize it. Most people think it is a really bad idea. ANET is the exception and the only vote that counts though.

The Toxic Offshoots aren’t just limited to Kessex Hills. The wind has carried these vile blooms into the neighboring zones of Caledon Forest, Metrica Province, Brisban Wildlands, Queensdale, and Gendarran Fields. They have even been spotted in the Eternal Battlegrounds!
Final ranking is still determined by total points if there is a tie. So points can still be important. Either way you are still talking about a bandaid for the real problem, population imbalance. If Anet would just merge some servers, or dedicate some as a PvE destination and WvW destination than new players would have a better idea where to go. Also they could not allow transfers to T1 servers and free transfers to bottom tiered servers. Regardless theses are just simple examples, but only Anet has the power to fix this, the players can not and will not get is solved.
Im on SoR and yes we did “buy” a transfer.

I doubt that either SoR or BG will have any problems beating JQ this season. It’s funny that JQ starts these QQ threads about these 2v1’s when they participated in this all week with BG against SoR. It’s a strategy and its going to happen. BG did a great job on strategy and politics. Instead of a QQ thread how about you learn from BG and move on.

No server buys guilds. Most servers offer what gold they can to transferring guilds to help cover their cost of transferring. The assertion that they pay guilds anything above that cost as a bribe to get them to come over is ludicrous.
So does SoR “offer gold” to other guilds to switch to their sever too like JQ and BG?

Peoples point is that it is practically useless as implemented. Everyone is going to buy ascended trinkets with laurels, also I would save some for future content.
At its current rate it is no where near worthwhile to spend laurels for wxp.
1 rank of wxp takes about 1-2hrs to gain just playing.
1 rank of wxp takes 2 laurels, that takes 2 days plus 1-2hrs per day to get.
Not even close to worth it.

Why has he not posted about anything? We got a response for the purchasable WxP but it was not from him. He has not posted since friday when the whole Anet employee went off on people GvG’ing.

The addition of the bonus WXP for laurels/badges is simply intended to give WvW players an additional option they can spend their laurels/badges on, it is not intended to fix any issues with alts and WxP.
We’re aware of, and actively discussing the amount of progression we’ve added through WxP and the difficulty for playing multiple characters as a result. When we make changes to help address alts/WxP rank, we’ll make sure to specifically call out the change is to help address that issue.
Regardless of the reason you introduced purchasable liquid wxp, do you realize the cost you are asking for it? I can easily get 1 wxp rank per 1-2hrs, but I can only receive 1 laurel per day. Who in their right mind would ever waste 2 laurels for something that is easily attainable. The fact that you implemented it this way feels like an insult to everyone’s intelligence. Why not make it cost 150-200 badges per 5k wxp, about as much as a chest piece. That would make badges useful beyond just gearing your character.
If this is an employee, then there is no way they should allow this. Completely unprofessional, and makes them look silly. I want to see the video.

I think what he’s trying to say is that there are personal achievements and if you’re stuck on a queue all the time because you transferred to Stackgate you’re never going to be able to get them.
Of course, whether this is actually the case and whether it actually acts as a stacking deterrent is yet to be seen.

T1 ques r really not as bad as ppl wanna think they r, this is how they go.
Friday reset night- All maps during na r qued for 1-2 hours
Saturday- 3 of the 4 maps r qued for 5-20 mins
Sunday-3 of the 4 maps r qued for 5-10 mins
monday-thursday – 2 out of 4 maps r ques for 5-10 mins 2 r insta pop
This is for the NA timezone only.Ocx/sea/eu at max will hit 2 maps qued and even that is hit and miss. T1 servers r not as strong as they r because they que all 4 of there maps 24/7, its because they have 24/7 coverage and no other server has it.the truth is the WvW population in this game is just dying, ppl r sick of waiting a year+ for fixes or changes.
Fixed:
Friday reset night- All maps during na r qued for 1-2 hours*
Saturday- 3 of the 4 maps r qued for 5-40 mins*
Sunday-3 of the 4 maps r qued for 0-30 mins*
monday-thursday – 2 out of 4 maps r ques for 0-20 mins 2 r insta pop*
*Depends on time and matchup. If it is an even match ques are longer most of the week. Uneven then its easy to get in on any map usually after saturday.

naw, 1 and 13 will both spawn camp 12 and 24 24/7
the extra points come from yaks and stomps… neither of which will be farmable in such ridiculous matchups, and so, will not contribute to ppt significantly.
You could also say that 1 would spawn camp 13, and that 12 would do the same to 24. So what is your point?

Yay, I go on vacation on the 4th so the delay is good for multiple reasons. A change to BloodLust is coming up. I feel a lot better about things now, Anet is at least thinking things over.
I’d just like to make a note of one thing that I think people aren’t considering when they transfer to stacked worlds. You will not, repeat will not, be able to receive the reward based on overall world place in the league, unless you achieve the meta achievement for the season. If you aren’t able to get into WvW much, you won’t get the rewards. So it is absolutely taking a risk to transfer to a world that has a large WvW population.
I have one question. You do not want to put stats on outmanned so that it does not encourage griefing. How does it make sense then to use achievements to encourage PvE players to join WvW. Won’t serious players that can not get teammates in possibly grief these noob PvE players that just want achievements?
They’ll be playing on the test server. Oops, never mind, just wishful thinking.

Have you guys not read Anets reason for not putting a stat bonus on the outnumbered buff? They said if they do that it will encourage player griefing when that one player enters and makes the buff go away. Now apply that same logic to any type of debuff you give a group that is over X amount of player. Now let that marinate and realize how silly this suggestion sounds to Anet.
I hope someone uploads that soon, I can’t wait to see how silly he makes Anet look. Maybe someone hacked his account, or watch that is the excuse they will give.
It will be announced tomorrow right before they leave the office, so they can ignore the backlash for the weekend while it calms down. Mostly, of course, because it will be another senseless Anet decision.
You seem to be missing the point, its about making things fair, giving everyone a level playing field. But fair doesn’t make sense to blobby blobbers I guess
Look dude, you are missing the point. At what point is fair, actually fair. If you make changes like this then you dictate how people have to play, is that fair? The world populations need a way to become more balanced.
Beyond that you will still have blowouts because one server has a better strategy than another. Like my server would have 2 or 3 heavily organized zergs consisting of 20-30 people each. Your server would have lots of pug roaming groups that would get roflstomped cause you don’t want to zerg. To win you would need like a 60 man blob, otherwise you would still lose because you don’t want to zerg.
They gave a good reason they can not raise the aoe cap. So how is it not fair that everyone has the same limitations. Your argument is flawed. Join a better server like Anet wants you to, or lose.
Make it so you can only buy it with gold earned in WvW haha
Well I would think most WvW feel like PvE is just a stepping stone to 80(if that) just to get to WvW. I leveled my characters mostly through crafting and only PvE at times there is nothing going on in WvW. Mostly just to get something I need or do new events just for the achievements.
Honestly I don’t care if they support WvW. You should already know as a player what servers are PvE and what ones are WvW, by just looking at the leaderboard.
Wait so you call it significant, but at the same time say it only matters when the ppt spread is around 100? Look at the scoreboard dood and tell me what match is and was ever within 100ppt.

It obviously affects ppt, but not significantly enough to worry about. If you have the buff stomp, otherwise no lose. No one that plays in a organized group is going to waste their time gaining the buff, unless that is their only goal.

You can’t give a penalty based on a zerg cap, cause that isn’t good for casuals. They have said this about giving a stat buff to outnumbered. For example if you give a penalty to a group of 25+ then people will cap their group at 24. Also if another group tries to assist you in your fight and results in a debuff, then all those players will get harassed by the group of 24. See the problem?
I think the orange swords thing is fair. It eliminates the problem of the smaller teams getting split up more, because they have to scout out the zerg.
Or everyone can transfer off these PvE only servers(low ranked ones) to a WvW server, and the stupid PvE People can play WvW themselves if they want the buffs!
The ruins are places designed for players who don’t care about rewards too much, and who are looking for like-minded and challenging small scale fights. If you want rewards, you capture structures and kill dolyaks and sentries. Please don’t try to change everything to suit your personal demands — it’s just not for you if you don’t like it yet.
Then go sPvP, or ask them to add an sPvP mode where you are not bound to the current restrictions of that system. Do not however try to bring your sPvP kitten into the middle of WvW.
If you don’t like zergs, go play spvp.

B) There is ZERO INCENTIVE for any opposing faction to claim these points.
I agree with that, and told my guild that right away. If you are smart you will not worry about obtaining the bonus. If you have it then yes stomp for ppt. Wasting time obtaining it as a large organized group, is just pointless. The buff from your current map adds hardly enough advantage to merit the time used to obtain it. Also if you have people to spare to get the buff, then you probably already have the advantage.
Everyone has realized the the buff was a silly ploy to exaggerate the already large discrepancy in matches and cause guilds to transfer for the upcoming leagues. I hope they get enough gem purchases, and will rethink this poor addition to WvW. At the current rate, there will be hardly enough competition left to have a second league season. We will be left with SoR, JQ, and BG as the only 3 that will even be participating.
I think one of the best things that can happen, whether they remove bloodlust or not, would be to lock trasfers to the top ranking WvW servers. Also provide free transfers to the bottom ranked servers. That way the imbalance does not become worse, and it provides a fair way to keep things balanced.
It would be hard to say what a fair determination for WvW population would be, but one thing is certain and that is WvW Server Rank. You could base the gem fee off of that. T1 most expensive getting cheaper on down.
Because unfortunately, most people are fair weather band wagon jumpers. You see a lot more people transferring to higher tier servers than to lower tier servers.
Much respect to anyone to has transferred to a lower tier server.
Isn’t that kinda his point? He is challenging Anet to do something that will further imbalance the game based on their decisions, and proving it to them in the process.

Yes, but it’s exactly what he should do, if he doesn’t find the gameplay fun and so should everyone else.
Of course IF despite all this, WvW player amounts still keep rising it tells the devs a lot of people still find it fun enough to spend their time on.
That is IF, its also all about perception. If people don’t find the idea of a buff and stomp points fun, then same problem(regardless if it actually is or not)
I am not playing because Devon said himself it is the only way for them to change their poorly implemented live beta.
