FOV (Field of View) Changes Beta Test - Feedback Thread

I’m using the FoV for 2 days now and since I use it I experience some issues I didn’t experience before, e.g. quite long lags, or screen load times (not while zoning but while walking around) and sometimes even broken images (like color problems or artifacts). this mostly occurs when getting POIs or opening the map. I’m using an Nvidia GTX 460 with driver 306.97
I am sure, they would find resolution (native and in game), monitor size, and refresh rate info helpful too.

Much needed improvement. Next step, allow us to add a custom value… Like 59. =)

Yes and thank you Arenanet!
PS
WTB FOV slider
It is not unreasonable to add some more settings to adjust these aspects.
100% agree!
Sometimes the screen becomes a huge blurred colored mess and the lack FOV options doesn’t help.
FOV options are needed… It’s a PC!
Innovation in… pricing model.
That can be enough for some.
Aggressively doing their jobs… Keep up the good work!
Why do countless people play Quake, Unreal Tournament, Counter Strike, Call of Duty, Team Fortress 2, enter you fav shooter here ?
I don’t know why YOU would but the above sums up why I do…

It’s fun but can be hurtful too. People asking after I accept a group invite, “Do you smell something?” does get rather tiresome…
“Charr need no bath!”
;)
RMB toggle. Or option to always free look.
My fingers are getting very strong from holding the button down continuously.
This +1!
I do not understand how they released the game without such an obvious desirable feature.
Personally, I’m thankful for the casual “revolution”. One day, you will be too.
Maybe not for all…
These are the same people that think they are trendy by using terms such as “scrubs”, “noob sauce”, etc. It’s pretty sad when you find out some of these people are adults (25+ yrs) and have decided to embrace the attitude of despiteful raging video game tweens.
Rage on keyboard generals!
Going into the Underworld for 1000 gold is a risk.
Teleporting to a place you need to go to help a friend shouldn’t be a risk.
I agree somewhat, we should be able to group with friends without a huge fee but moving from WP to WP as a common method of travel should have the “risk” of the poor house for those that fail at fund management.
@Khristophoros: Like the “dungeon toll” idea but doesn’t effect PvPers.
I’m still amazed that some people thrive on being punished.
What you may call punishment; some call it risk versus reward. Risk versus reward requires problem solving and makes use of experience, unlike being punished.
Want to travel from A to B to save you time (convenience) = Risk versus reward
Want to group with some low level friends (the scaling system was designed for this, right?) but I have to pay large fee = Punishment
So you should vote for my “summon stone” solution if you’re not monetarily motivated. =)
EDIT:
RE: Are you saying that level 1’s actually have to weigh the risk/reward of fast travel?
To a certain degree. From personal experience, I was naïve and did not notice the scaling until my 50’s.
A level 1 may not be wrestling with the same grandiose end-game challenges but he/she would be wise to take it into consideration when playing. If not, don’t come crying to me if you cannot afford your trait book.

@Tuluum: You may have mentioned previously but I missed it, what level are you?
The prices do get downright step, which I am fine with for particular situations (convenience), not a penalty for me trying to hang out with some friends.
Not good enough for NCSoft, apparently. CoH had a pretty good player base and they decided to fire the whole team out of nothing.
I guess auto makers should never retire a previous model?
Where is my 2012 Chevy Nova?
The key difference between game economies and real economies is that every player is capable of finding high value items and selling them into the market. In real life we have people trapped doing low value jobs and no way to move up.
Not really, the biggest difference is most MMOs do not control they volume of currency circulating in the economy. We lack a federal reserve, NPC vendor have any unlimited supply of currency.
Back to the point, no one has provided a reason why an 80 should not have to weigh the risk/rewards for fast travel just like a level 1, as stated in my previous post.
If you constantly use way points, you should be broke, it’s working as intended. The real issue is people should not be punished for grouping with lower level friends.
I find that absolutely absurd because grinding mobs is the least efficient way to level. In fact, exploring zones and completing the content you find is the best way to level.
You may think it’s absurd but experience tells me otherwise. All the players that hit cap through crafting disagree with you regarding best way to level.
This is not unique to GW 2, every MMO goes through this.
Hard + Easy = Just Right
?
Open World – No invisible walls, events and/or set pieces impacted by players
Combat – Offers PVP, tight controls, provides feedback, and is balanced
Economy – Player driven, the developer has very little involvement other then providing the tools for players to use (none to very few NPC vendors)
Not adding reliable service and customer support to my three because that should be a given. =)
How about we reduce costs on the WPs if you’ve already taken the time to 100% explore the zone?
Why are you insisting on a discount for reuse?
If the issue truly is about being penalized for grouping with low level friends, this solution is to far reaching. I think many are getting on the bandwagon disguising monetary motivations under the veil of grouping with lower levels.
An 80 should have to weigh the risk/rewards for fast travel just like a level 1. I am starting to think, many have been spoiled with the “innovation” of flying mounts.

I don’t believe associating the cost with zone level is the right solution. Why should a level 80 (that earns more gold/mats) revisiting a lower leveled zone to obtain 100% completion be able to move from way point to way point at a reduced zone cost?
This will motivate min/max players to grind mobs to 80 so that they can travel around for 100% completion afterwards without fear of fast travel costs.
I share the frustration but do see the importance of fast travel costs. Perhaps they could introduce a purchasable one time use “summoning stone” for a party member. This would ease the frustration and burden for those that want to group with lower leveled friends while maintaining the curve associated with leveling.
Using AutoHotkey considered a hack? Will it get me banned?

As stated in the other thread I would like to point out, AHK provides the same macro abilities as macro keyboards without the hardware. Something to consider, the ability of macros use allows many people with disabilities to play.
It would be poor choice for any developer to ban the use of such applications and/or hardware. Realistically, since it does not alter/inject code (unlike some bot methods) it cannot be monitored unless the developer has decided to add a system wide spy application and think they can tell customers what they can have installed on their machines.
Someone has to do it.. Will Guild Wars 2 beat (be better, have more players etc) Wow?

Dunno, we are still continuing the debate of which is the better color. Its odd how the color red still exists even though we all know blue is the superior color.
Could I get banned for using AutoHotkey to toggle the right mouse button?
