This post is short and sweet. Living story is attempting to compel people who feel the NEED to play by creating all these achievement and weapon skin filled festivals, instead of creating content that makes players WANT to play.
As soon as people say “wait why am I playing this again?” the entire thing will collapse for them and they will likely not be interested in playing as much, if at all.
Also, back to school? Not all of us are 13 years old.
I don’t think you realize that there are people that aren’t even children anymore that go back to school. Anyway, the reason they called it back to school is because “This virtual reality simulator was designed to educate young asura, but anyone can enroll!”
I think the models look very nice. The skin has really nice details like freckles. Obviously not the best, but have you seen other MMOs? Most of them are terrible.
I don’t know why people like her. She’s a Lionguard. She’s just doing her job, that doesn’t necessarily means she’s a good guy. I don’t see anything wrong with Evon that makes him a bad guy. He’s just doing his job too. He’s got the better fractal, imo, so he gets my vote.
Because bad ppl don’t tend to join a force dedicated to helping ppl out, securing trade routes and defending every peon on the road from every ooglie booglie they pass? Those kind of people go into politics. Like Evon. Who comes across like every slimy politician in every campaign I’ve lived through.
There’s plenty of bad police men in the world. If they give you orders that you don’t agree with and start stating your rights they get scared. There’s also people who go into the army because they don’t have anything to do with their life. This doesn’t always mean they’re a good person. I’m not saying Kiel is going to become elected and start killing people left and right, because I think if she does get elected Lion’s Arch is still going to be the same place with small changes here and there. I’m just saying you don’t have to be a good person to follow orders and get paid.

Evon/Anet is not a good businessman. He rips his customers off (RNG Skins)
without delivering a quality product for their money.
Anet should take the skins out of the BLC’s, sell the skins outright, reduce the price to 25-50 gems each, remove items like permanent bank access from the game.
Well, he does give pretty accurate descriptions on each of his RNG boxes. “chance”
Kind of dumb that they are limiting the time of gem purchases. I bought $60+ worth of gems since launch and if I didn’t buy any in the last 3 months I wouldn’t have gotten this?
My sister, who plays on her laptop and gets a maximum of 16 fps at a time if she’s lucky, wins the race almost every time she plays and she plays a lot. I don’t think it’s luck based. You just need to know when to use certain power ups and have a good route to take.
Well, it is an achievement, and I’d say the definition suits it pretty well. “A thing done successfully, typically by effort, courage, or skill.” I like the way they’ve done things, and I haven’t gotten the achievement myself.
Why don’t you complain about how females don’t get to have muscles like the males while you’re at it? How about how the males don’t get as revealing armor as the females? I’m sorry, but I think these types conversations are ridiculous. You can’t make everyone happy.
I still play alone, but I’m in a really nice guild that would play with me if I wanted them to. I just have a hard time talking to people, mostly my guild because they’re all way better at the game than me and I don’t want to screw them up.
I know they are taking forum feedback, but 2 week updates wasn’t what we asked for. Just non rushed, quality content.
So far Living Story is a concept simply not fulfilling its existence in any way. I hope it pans out eventually, but sometimes you need to brake to go forward..

2 weeks. Seems pretty crazy to invest in an MMO and not be able to log on at least once every 2 weeks. I’m currently packing, moving, painting the rooms in the house I’m moving to, and going to work, yet I was still able to complete the Sky Pirate and Dragon Bash achievements.
That would be interesting. I feel like they are finding the sweet spot for how the living story works before they do crazy changes like that. Sounds like they are getting close to that point. I like the idea.
2 weeks. Even if I can’t play for 2 weeks there’s going to be so much other content it won’t even matter. Not like I’m going to leave for vacation on a Tuesday and come back exactly 2 weeks later on another Tuesday. Seems like you’d actually have to try to miss the living story. Even if my cat died I’d still have 15 minutes to play during a 2 week period.
Also note the accidental achievement section ((DELETE ME!!)) that found its way through to the live client.
I don’t think that was accidental. Seemed more like a teaser. You don’t think the person who went to the trouble of placing that achievement section into the live game and then renamed it to “((DELETE ME!!))” even though everyone except them must’ve known that the sky pirate event hadn’t started yet didn’t see it?
Luckily I’m pretty good at this game and I won 6 or so times in a row. Because of this people started calling me some really nasty names that I won’t bother typing out. They did it for literally no reason, but the fact that I was winning because I never called them any names.
Cool idea. I’ve been playing since a couple of the BWEs and there’s some dungeons I still haven’t, but would like to try out. I’m not sure I’d join because of fear of embarrassment though, haha!
So I can still get to all of the phases in flame and frost up until sunday.

It’s not really a grind unless you don’t enjoy it. If you don’t enjoy it I suggest you leave and stay that way.
But if you do that, are you going to get your money back? After all the whole point is to pay for something you enjoy doing. This isn’t a F2P game, you know.
Never said, or insisted, it was F2P. I’ve bought plenty of games I don’t like.
Even if you’re not into RP I’d join Tarnished Coast. I’m not on it anymore, but it is a great server with great people. I’m on Maguuma at the moment and there’s also some great people here too. We’re also pretty good in WvW.
I’m personally really bummed that Living story is the only content they’re adding nowadays. It’s okay for a few moments, but it’s so forgettable and bland it’s not a meaningful endgame content. I’d compare it to the holiday festivals like Wintersday and Halloween. The “whole world is your endgame content” doesn’t hold water either, so what is our endgame content? Everyone and their grandma must be bored with dungeons and Fractals by now as they are currently. Instead of pushing the Living story down our throats, please add some permanent endgame content.
If you’re looking for endgame content don’t complain about the living story. It may seem bland to you, but it’s not to me and many others. It’s also not considered endgame. I can assure you that there are different teams for people that make endgame content and people that make the living story, so it’s not the living story’s fault.
