people. Even solo, I am never alone!”
You probably turned off auto-attack. Hover over the 1 skill with the mouse. It probably will say something like ctrl-mouse 2 to enable autoattack. Do that.
I’ll try that when I log in today. I had no idea that it could be turned off. If that’s the issue, I hit something wrong at some point, lol.
Thank you!
Just what the subject line says.
I have a level 80 Charr Thief and she’s not auto-attacking anymore. She used to, when I was main handing a sword, but now I have to continually hit the 1 key to keep her attacking.
Is this normal?
If not, how do I fix it?
All you have to do is log in, claim your reward and then log out. Takes all of a minute or two. Also, if you skip a day or three, you’ll simply resume on the reward you left off on, item wise. Unless they changed it since the last time I missed a day or so, which was a while back.
You’re not required to claim the rewards everyday if you don’t want to.
If you use the Gem Store on a regular basis, you might as well be willing to pay a subscription and have everything available in-game. Minimum gem purchase is $10 US, if I am not mistaken. FFXI is 12.99 per month, FFXIV is 14.99 per month, don’t know what the sub on WoW or other sub based mmo’s are. But I know people in F2P games who say the same thing, they will quit the game if it becomes subscription, yet they fork over dollars after dollars… sometime $100 or more per month using cash shops.
I don’t know about you guys, but that don’t make any sense to me. :-/
I usually sport the “Been There, Done That” title. Basically because it sums my real life up in just four words.
But I also like “Veteran”, because it sums up “Been There, Done That” in only one word!
:D
I’ve notice odd behavior from the Son’s of Svanir as well. But not so much during battle. Just watching them from afar, I’ve noticed them walking forward, then backwards (like moonwalking) and making erratic movements. One was chopping on a rock face, I killed him for quest, when he respawned, he was chopping on a tree with his back to it, in effect, just chopping air.
I believe the majority of this community are decent and respectful and respectable people. I have noticed less toxicity here than on any other game forum I have participated on. The FFXIV group on FB is extremely toxic… enough so that I have stopped participating there.
Recently, before WvW was removed from world completion requirements, I was trying to get the WvW maps for the achievement on my ranger. It was a very discouraging experience for me, as someone who doesn’t do PvP or WvW. I posted on here about it and most of the replies were from people who gave me encouragement and how-to’s on getting it done. There were a few very rude people telling me I was a bad player, but, because of the helpfulness of this community, I completed the WvW maps and got my achievement. And learned a little about WvW in the process. I couldn’t have done it without the advice I received here.
“All systems check! Ready for takeoff!”
and
“Failed takeoff!”
Please fix. Ill be loging in to check if its has been removed.. wont be doing anyting other than checking… cant stand to play game like this.. bad move arena net for a joke this is more like a hack.. somthing lizard squad would do to make ppl not play.. you just hacked your self arena net are you stupid
I find the game perfectly playable like this… fighting and everything. It’s just a little more amusing right now. lol
But, if you don’t like it, it should be over by 7pm US central time today.
There’s no way ANet could have known about the recent plane tragedies when they created the content for today. And, as others have said, there are tragedies happening everyday. Anything they had created containing vehicles of any kind could be given the same view.
I see this content as a kind of tribute to the old movies of the 30’s and 40’s… the sepia, the scratches and film flaws running vertically and speckling on the screen, and the music when a character dies. All reminiscent of the old movies.
My Charr Thief.
Don’t worry, some day the whole bible and jesus thing will go out of style like all New Age religions do at some point.
Christianity has been around for over 2000 years and the Christian God has been worshiped for approximately 4000 years before that. What you say is highly unlikely to ever happen.
Why is it unlikely? It spread here around 900 years ago during the northern crusades and our old gods were around for thousands of years before that. Why wouldn’t the same thing happen again when the next big thing comes?
Those ‘old’ gods, as you put it, are still worshiped in some places. Even in America. The only god’s that I know of that have come close to extinction are the greek gods (Zeus, etc). But you can still find a few people who believe in them too. They are younger gods, however, than the Christian God, who is the oldest known God to be worshiped anywhere.
This is incorrect. Judaism is roughly 3000 years old. Christianity is younger than that. Greek, Roman, Celtic, Egyptian, etc pantheons predate Judaism.
The Christian God has been worshiped for 6000 years, give or take a decade or a few. It became known as Christianity after Jesus’ death in 33ac. Christian means Follower of Christ.

If the Christian God is the same entity as Jesus Christ, then his penchant for using allegory is well established.
This means that all of the things you’ve indicated to be “proven false” could very easily be allegorical. Plus they were written down several centuries after they were alleged to have occurred. Finally, “proven false” is incorrect, as all of those things are currently improvable (unable to be confirmed one way or the other). We consider them to be improbable based on our current understanding of physics and biology, an understanding that changes very frequently as we continue to explore the universe.
Jesus was/is not God… He is the Son of God. He used parables (stories) to teach His various lessons. The stories were not true, that doesn’t mean that His teachings weren’t. And, I assume, since you mentioned Jesus, that you’re referring to the books of the new testament when you said “written down several centuries later”. Not true. The books were written by those who knew Jesus. His disciples.
There are many Christian sects that hold a Trinitarian view (that God consists of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).
And yes, I was referring to the fact that Jesus used parables to teach concepts, which suggests that the earliest Old Testament texts (the ones that were written down several centuries after the fact by Moses) could likewise be parables (i.e. allegories not intended to be taken literally).
Moses was the only man in Biblical history to speak to God directly. He had a knowledge that no other human was ever privy too. But just because the old testament books were written down centuries after, say, the creation of the earth and Adam and Eve, doesn’t mean he used parables for everything. Moses was a living, walking history book.

Unless you grew up in certain churches where God is God the Father, the Son, and The Holy Ghost/Spirit all combined into one. Or Unitarianism. Or other things.
Yup! But that just proves the varied interpretations of the Bible. It would be wrong for me to say I am right and those who believe this way are wrong. That’s why there are so many various denominations. I am non-denominational. I don’t belong to any specific church… I have agreements with all and I have disagreements with all. To me, the Bible is clear and needs no interpretation. It says what it says and I believe it.

Funny thing is, while the existance of a higher power can’t be disproven, the existance of the christian god can. Many things this god supposedly has done like: create everything in 7 days, put the earth at the center of the universe, start the human race with just one man and one woman and many other things are all proven false.
So even if their god exists, it would not be the god their religion describes.
None of this has been proven false. There are only opposing theories. And the Bible does not state that the earth was placed in the center of the universe. The universe is endless, it has no center.
Science has yet to disprove anything the Bible says. And, a quick FYI, One of Gods days = a millennia on earth. And there is an abundance of archaeological evidence that supports biblical history.
World views and personal preferences aren’t welcome in map or any other chat according to the rules of conduct.
Over time I’ve seen people discussing God/Allah in chat as though he exists. As an Atheist, I find this offensive, just as a Christian or a Muslim would find it offensive if I talked about his lack of existence. Yet these people don’t get warned. I have previously received angry whispers from some players for talking openly about Atheism in Say chat (which I have since learned from an no longer bring any kind of cultural views into chat).
I’m a Christian and I am not offended by your lack of faith in any kind of god or even by any athiest views in chat.
I am offended that you would want to silence people for their views.
There are these two things we call Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion. People have a right to publicly exercise both… even the athiests.
If you are offended, just do as the others have suggested and I am suggesting now.
Use your free, ANet provided, Block feature.
is throw an option? dropkick? i vote yes
I’m all for being able to interact with our mini-pets. However, since many are cats, puppies, and other animals, an option to “throw” or “dropkick” would be a depiction of animal cruelty.
It would not be at all funny!
There is artwork depicting horses in GW2 and references to them in the game and books, but I have yet to see even one!
And I’d really like to…
“KILL IT!”

Relatively soon this forum will be 3 years old. Here are some things it’s STILL missing:
- A darker theme. White was the new black all the way back when the first Assassin’s Creed was released. The fad has moved on, and now this blindlingly white background doesn’t really cut it. We should have at least the option of using one darker theme. Ideally, we would have multiple themes to choose from.
I have no argument with the rest of you’re suggestions, but as for the theme, dark text on a light background is much easier on the eyes. A dark theme might make the forums less useable for some people.
In that case, I nominate Almorra Soulkeeper, if she’d be so gracious as to accept the nomination!
Sorry, according to the rules, write-in candidates are not allowed in Captain’s Council elections. If Almorra wants in, she will have to beat Evon in a charr primary.
As for the humans, I’ve heard rumors about the Terminate Ellen Already (TEA) Party and their grassroots efforts to put another person on the ballot.
I have no doubt she could beat Evon. She’s a great leader and strategist.
No, we honor Lion’s Arch by removing Kiel. In real life, if a politician isn’t up to par, the citizens can call and vote for a recall. Anet should hold a Recall Election to see if enough players support her removal. At the same time, it allows us to cast our votes for a new candidate.
The time has come for a new direction. Anet, let us vote! May the best charr win!

If you preview your post after attaching an image it lets you attach another.
Thank you so much for that info… I was wondering how others had done it.
How I honor Lion’s Arch… by remembering how beautiful it was 250+ Tyrian years ago!

I main a Warrior. I have a certain attachment to him as he was my first character, but I also have 8 other lvl 80s. Now, I also like to support players and love seeing the shields and green numbers when I play my Guardian, especially when I see players on the brink of death and I’m able to save them.
So that’s why today, it’s gonna be hard for me to say goodbye to the Guardian, at least for now. Fractals can take upwards of an hour, hour and a half, which makes getting the Relic rewards at the end pretty important to someone who works more than a full time job and is trying to finish up his degree. Now I know my fights, and I may not have agony resistance, but I know how to survive it and/or avoid it in the 10-19 tier. Me being traited for support, I’m often the only one that stays at full health an entire fight.
But when a group decides it’s best to stack on the last boss of the fractal and eat his stomps while expecting me to throw a Reflecting Wall when we first enter to protect us from the fire from the other boss, there’s not much I can do to survive as I’m not able to heal myself at that critical moment. The first attempt, before they asked me to do that, went okay. We lost most of the party early so I died so we could restart the fight. We wiped a few more times because of various reasons like someone running in early, but long story short, I was kicked because I kept dying while trying to support them instead of helping myself.
So, give thanks to a group of players with a crappy attitude for losing a support player. Guess it’s back to my Warrior where all I care about is swinging my sword.
Everything in this game is zerg. Go in, zerg it to death, get out. There are no strategies or support rolls… just zerg, zerg, zerg. A lack of strategies, other than zerging, leads me to believe no one in this game knows anything about strategies or support rolls. Which is one of, at least, half a dozen reasons I prefer to play solo. I stay away from pvp, wvw, and any content not meant to be solo’d. It gets tedious and boring to always zerg everything instead of using the brains that we were supposed to be born with.
I am so sorry this happened to you. Having been there, done that, I fully empathize with you.
If our world were to become Tyria…
Oh, what I could do with this scenario. I have quite an imagination… and it kicks in a lot! lol
First, I’d be my own character, Xev Munroe, human ranger. My pet(s) and I would roam Tyria righting wrongs and extinguishing evil wherever it shows it’s ugly face. With my endless supply of arrows and the strength of my pets we would be unbeatable… even if we do have to waypoint often. I’d fix my gear and return to the scene of my defeat and try again and again until we are victorious. And should our foe turn out to be more than we could handle, I’d simply log out and return, reincarnated, as my Charr thief, Rahjeen Clawmaster. She’s awesome!
I’ve been reading all the threads about the bugs and glitches in this patch, but, so far, I haven’t noticed any of them in my game. The only thing I’m getting is a repeated Error during updating.
Anyone else been getting this? It does update successfully, but this message pops up several times during the update and I’ve never gotten this before.
I didn’t post this thread so that people could chastise me or insinuate that I am negligent or stupid for buying something I wasn’t aware had been removed from the game. I’m human! A real live one, behind this text and my character. I make uninformed choices sometimes… we all do.
I posted with the suggestion or request that such items be removed from the game completely.
I am, IN NO WAY, going to miss the gold I spent on them. It can be made back by selling crafting materials. But it is hard earned… it takes time to farm up enough materials to be substantially profitable.
I just don’t want to see any other less informed people (new players, for instance) misled by these items. If you all have a problem with that, then that is exactly what it is… your problem.
So what about the people who have already paid for those items and want to keep them for linking purposes? Or the ones who want to sell them to such people? They still have worth even if it’s not a functional one…. How is it their problem? Personally, I bought one for an extra toon just to link it. You admit it was a mistake yet say it’s someone else’s problem even though they made no mistake yet want to sell that item…. You seem extremely determined to never take responsibility for your own mistakes despite admitting that you made them.
I didn’t say that my mistake was someone else’s problem. I said if anyone has a problem with my suggestion that such items be removed, then… to clarify… their problem with my suggestion is their problem. Not mine. There is no need too be ugly to me for making a simple suggestion. But that is what some of the people in this thread are being, including you. While others agree with me.

At first I was surprised at the lack of research that must have gone into this. Yes, I see that you say you did the research, however the search for training manual on the wiki clearly states the item has been removed from the game, furthermore, you can ALREADY place all your trait points so I don’t even see what you think this would do. It’s not necessarily unuseable, just that what you WOULD use for is no longer needed (unlocking the higher level trait levels).
Then, I noticed that you’re the same person who managed to analyze that one of the most active and successful WvW servers was a dead server all in the span of two hours. So I understand now.
Anyway, I can see your argument for removing these items and it does make sense. However the other side of it that there ARE people who have paid for these items and still like to link them in chat (to the point of purposefully wasting valuable item space) put value on them. There are people who actually still purposefully buy this,;I’d suggest on top of doing your research, if you aren’t clear what this item would do for you…You should ask map chat in LA or something with people who know exactly what those old items are.
Do you refer to the wiki every single time you use the trading post?
Neither do I.
And most people, including myself, probably don’t expect to find defunct items on the trading post in the first place. They should have been removed completely from the game. Not just made non-functional.
And the manuals I am talking about don’t reset trait points, they ‘were’ used to increase the number of points that could be used in each line.
Problem is a lot of those items up there, are most likely items left by players who no longer play the game. See unlike other games the items in the trading post don’t expire and they never go away unless the person who puts them up finally decides to take them down.
So the problem is not the long lost items. It’s the stagnant accounts that put the items up to begin with.
I agree. But there are hundreds of them on the TP. ANet needs remove them.
ANet doesn’t need to remove them. Trading post is free market with a floor. The floor being items can’t be priced at lower than vendor price.
We players determine the prices of things on the Trading Post. If you aren’t willing to pay X for an item, then don’t. Wait for it to come down, if it does at all.
If ANet had wanted price ceilings on items, they would have put them in.
I don’t think you understand what I am saying. The prices aren’t the issue. These are items that have been removed from the game by Anet, but there are still hundreds of them on the TP and they are useless. They no longer perform their function, you cannot use them, no matter how many times you double click them. They do nothing.
Ah, ok. Wasn’t clear in your original post.
They likely don’t have the ability to remove them from the Trading Post without kicking every other item off as well. Which include thousands of items from players not currently playing. Meaning if they get kicked off the trading post, they won’t be put back up. And I’d honestly put more value in keeping those useful items from now inactive players up on the trading post than removing the useless items.
At least not easily. The only way they’d be able to do it is to have someone be given the gold to buy up every single item that’s currently useless. And that would also take time. Time that’s probably better spent on other things.
It would be as easy as removing the files/code that create those items from their servers and the game clients (via update). Poof! No more useless items.
Problem is a lot of those items up there, are most likely items left by players who no longer play the game. See unlike other games the items in the trading post don’t expire and they never go away unless the person who puts them up finally decides to take them down.

There are various item’s that have been removed from the game that can still be found on the trading post. (ex. training manuals)
Is it at all possible to remove these items completely? They are being sold for more than just copper or silver, but for gold. People, such as myself, I admit it, who are not aware that these items are now useless, are spending their hard earned gold on them and getting snookered by the sellers.
Please look into this!
So… you bought a useless item, from an anonymous source, despite the fact that you had no idea what the item really was or that it was now useless, and without taking 30 seconds to look it up on GW2Wiki, or to simply ask any random person you see in Guild Chat or even Map Chat what this very expensive mystery item is… and now you want Anet to fix it for you.
Please stay away from Ebay. And Craigslist. In fact, I’m going to save you a lot of trouble here and just tell you that the internet in general is not for you, I’m afraid. I would advise you to avoid it entirely.
This is how innocent Mogwai end up in the wrong hands, only spawn an army Gremlins that destroy the whole town…
FYI, I know what the manuals were once for, I only didn’t know that they had been removed from the game.
You are an incredibly rude and snotty person. It’s you who should probably stay away from the internet. At least any social aspect of it. You have no idea how to treat people decently. I have nothing more to say to you.

So you started this thread but did it anyways? lol… facepalm
But in any case, I still think the method of acquiring a legendary should still be altered so that you can do it in any one game mode instead of all three. If not, it should require you to play in all game modes, which is not currently the case in regards to sPvP.
Yeah, I did it anyway… got lots of encouragement and tips on how to do it in this thread. Totally worth having posted my original ‘gripe’.
Not after a legendary, just map completion. Re-read the title of this thread plz.
I assumed, as I see many others have, because it’s the only use for the Gifts that come from world completion.
So I suppose you’re in it for the star?
Still.. get over yourself and do the WvW maps. If it’s important you, the extra effort will make the completion achievement so much sweeter.
>_>
Someone didn’t read the whole thread before posting this.
<_<
please support chinese font input in eu/us clients ( both simplified and traditional), since there is no “asian servers” , there are many players from taiwan, Hongkong and mainland of china even Chinese students aboard play at eu/us server, but gw2 dosen’t support chinese input (both simplified and traditional) quite well.
it is not a difficult issue, please support chinese language input so more player will benefit from the change.
thank you very much.
American is the official language of GW2.
There is no language called American. lol.
English, lol.
I’m an American, but the language of my own people isn’t supported. Cherokee. And I am not asking ANet to add support for it. It would be too complex anyway.
The American servers should not have to support Chinese language when the Chinese will have their own servers and unique version of the game. They’re not ‘entitled’ to any of it, but they are getting it anyway.
Not trying to be rude at all, just saying if you want Chinese, then wait for the Chinese servers and client. I’d rather not see a lot of squiggles that I can’t read coming up in my chat box. Who knows what might be being said? It does create a language barrier. Even SE separated the Japanese, US, and EU servers with FFXIV. In FFXI, we are all thrown onto the same servers and there is a language barrier, even with the auto-translate function.
100% map complete! Done!
Congrats! See I told you that you could do it.
Yes you did! Thank you for that pep talk!
100% map complete! Done!
Good work. Now go do it again!
Thanks. I’m not sure how to do it again on the same character and know what I have and have not redone, but I have started WvW mapping with my lv66 elementalist. Her gear isn’t suitable for the area and she still needs more traits unlocked (haven’t worked on her much, so she’s rather gimp), but, except for the skill points, I’ve gotten everything in the green borderlands.
100% map complete! Done!
Congratulations !
Thank you!
100% map complete! Done!
Awesome! And that video demonstrated exactly what I was talking about. Very glad it will be resolved.
My question regarding the upcoming camera changes is this (because it is really the only thing that bugs me about the current camera system).
Will it reduce or eliminate camera bouncing in tight places? It’s incredibly hard to do anything when your view is bouncing and shaking all over the place.
. Will Lion’s Arch ever return to it’s former beauty (or perhaps better)? Keeping all memorial’s intact, of course.
Since it is a “Living World” thing, one would assume that it will be rebuilt. Has there been any info on this?
Just this as far as I know.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Will-Lion-s-Arch-ever-be-rebuilt/first#post4739353
Check this thread for speculation. We don’t have any dev info on specific plans, though.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Will-Lion-s-Arch-ever-be-rebuilt/first
That answer’s a lot. I really do hope it, at least, goes back to the way it was. But also hoping for better.
Question: Scarlet has been long dead now, yet Lion’s Arch remains all but completely destroyed. There are NPC’s busily working on rebuilding the city, but with no obvious progress. Will Lion’s Arch ever return to it’s former beauty (or perhaps better)? Keeping all memorial’s intact, of course.
Since it is a “Living World” thing, one would assume that it will be rebuilt. Has there been any info on this?
Input and opinions please!
thx
