The thing is that it’s on this site. I clicked the support link up top and it’s doing it. It only let me in after I closed the client, closed the web browser, then retried and it let me in. It was using https so I guess it was safe. I’m no web wizard. Most importantly though, is this happening to anyone else?

Edit: It seems that it rolled back a bit too… I’m missing some rewards after a successful Dragon’s Stand run.

Well, it stopped now and I was able to send in a ticket… though I’m not sure if I should have. Very odd and scary…

Edit: And I can log in now and am in game. This is really weird.

You cannot visit en.support.guildwars2.com right now because the website uses HSTS. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later.

I can get past the launcher (it even updated) and was able to get to my character select, but clicking on any of them will eventually result in an error telling me to check my internet connection.

Thanks for the response! I wonder if these PvP builds will fair well in PvE… I’ll have to try them out. If not, then I at least have something to play around with in PvP whenever I get back to it. More focused on PvE at the moment though, and I need a lot of ascended gear.

In the meantime, please throw out some Reaper Tank suggestions and builds!

So, I’ve been hankering for a nice Tank build for my Reaper for ages. Are there any that are flexible enough to do a little bit of every thing? (PvE, Fractals, Maybe Raid?, general PvP)

If not, then I’ll go with anything that is PvE/Fractals/Possibly Raiding. As long as I don’t have to do much swapping (I’d rather stay on my lovely lil’ Greatsword, only swapping to range when needed).

I don’t know any abbreviations for anything, so please help this dummy make sense of things.

This is more for the make over kit, but would you guys add in some “ugly” face choices? I’m talking like, some of the old Necromancer faces in GW1. To me, everyone either looks average or beautiful. (Asura don’t count. They’re either cute or ugly… but uglier would be a nice option too!)

In short, more make over exclusive faces that are from GW1, please! Ugly options too! Hair styles from GW1 as well!

A few days ago I was able to purchase gems without a problem, but now I get an error that tells me to try again later. No error code or anything. I have bought quite a bit in the last few days, so I was wondering if it could be that? Or is there something happening on Arena’s side? I hope that I can be helped. Thank you.

I don’t mind grind as long as it doesn’t gate off content. Now, I’m not sure if you actually need all of the stuff from the mastery thingums in HoT to progress, but it kinda feels that way so far (correct me if I’m wrong… and if I am, I apologize). Forcing people to grind is not fun. Having it as an option is good. I’m also happy that it’s an account wide thing. If it were character restricted, that would drive a lot of people bonkers.

I wouldn’t want everything given to me all at once cause, well, that isn’t fun in my book. Actually I will go ahead and admit that I don’t have any better ideas of making the mastery system better for everyone. So far I’m having fun cause I’m taking it slow… but that doesn’t mean I’m not concerned about other players. This system, as far as I can tell at the moment, goes against the “no grind” promise. A very difficult promise to hold true to at that. (again, if I’m wrong about the mastery system needing certain things to progress from one zone to the next, please correct me!)

Other than that, the events are fun to me, so far I enjoy the new zone (I haven’t gone beyond the first one… I’m going reeeeaaaally slow), somewhat annoyed by the mushroom and updraft crap, but I’ll get those eventually… The Itzal dialect thing is odd (doesn’t it basically block certain purchases from those merchants?), I love the music, love the look of the jungle and the challenge the enemies provide. It vaguely reminds me of GW1 stuff… except the expacs in that game were huge. (Only three maps in this expac? Seriously? I hope they’ll add more as time goes on…)

What I really, really don’t like that came with this expac though? All these people bashing on each other simply because of clashing preferences and whatnot. Doesn’t matter if you’re “tired of hearing the moaning and groaning” and stuff either. That doesn’t permit anyone to call others names or make them feel terrible. There is a difference between a debate and a verbal thrashing. If the complainer themselves are being rude and nasty and you still want to engage in conversation with them, try to do so graciously. The other option is that you can just ignore those posts.

Probably did a lot of rambling here and may have gotten some things mixed in this mess of typing. If that is the case, I apologize.

tl;dr – Grinding is okay as long as it’s an option, not a requirement. If you engage in these conversations about grind, try to do so in a gracious manner.

EDIT: May as well add this too – I miss the fact that obtaining a Guild Hall was not tied to an expac. It kinda spits on small guilds as well (talking 5 people and smaller… or 10 or smaller. Really, REALLY small friend guilds), as they have to pull their hair out trying to “claim” the piece of land. Maybe it’s possible, but I dunno. In GW1, you could just get a Hall from a large selection of choices. I know ANet is trying to make things as epic and rewarding as possible, but catering to certain people will only leave a sour taste in the mouths of some others.

Not sure what DL you’re talking about (beta drivers?) or if you’re just pulling people’s legs, but I doubt the crashes are from the gfx card. Only “crashes” I get are connection errors after they update the game. :\

Weirdness on my end too. The character select will load up fine, but when attempting to load on to a character, it moves on to a loading screen and sits there for a while before an error pops up. I also attempted to make a new character. This causes everything to go black, with only your cursor showing. In none of these instances did my task manager say that the game was not responding.

It took me forever to log on here too and I’d imagine it’ll be awhile before this post goes through. Everything on the forums is running slow, as people have already said. Before successfully logging in, I got this error: Login Error: Portal returned error: invalid_grant: Grant is expired or revoked {"error":“invalid_grant”,“error_description”:“Grant is expired or revoked”,“text”:"ErrSessionNotFound"} — l_c.rb 95 (fangamer:-1).

Hopefully everything runs smoothly soon. DdoS attack?

Just think: Jump Puzzles and Cantha. INSANE! AMAZING! Please make this happen.

I’ve had this issue happen a few times, but I have an NVIDIA Card. However, I do have Windows 10 64-bit… Other than that, the game runs beautifully when I am able to log in. When it does happen, I cannot force close it and I’m forced to reboot the computer. Slightly annoying… May try rolling back driver or something.

Guardians are pretty cool, but it never clicked for me cause I’m the type of person that needs the perfect character to match the class (RP NERD ALERT). I nevern’t played Engie enough to really say much about that class, but I played Guardian up to 79 before I deleted her (yes, shoot me). Guardian is easy mode in PvE, and I’ve been battered by a few in WvW in the past.

Dear me. This thread still lives! Just as my hopes and dreams for some Cantha goodness in GW2 are.

Hey there. This has happened to me about 5 times now, so I figured now would be a good time to actually post about this.

So what I do first is I sign in, press the play button, and sometimes the character screen loads up fine and everything is peachy. Other times, the screen is black but I can still see my cursor and hear the music. I can ALT+CTRL+DEL to open the task manager, and I see GW2 listed as “Not Responding”. No matter what, I can’t seem to force close it (or any other program for that matter… Task Manager is rendered useless at this point. I can however close other programs directly.) and I have to restart my computer when this occurs. No errors pop up or anything. I’ve also tried right clicking the game tab on my task bar to try and close it that way, but that does nothing as well.

I have updated my video card, but I don’t know if this is a video card problem… If so I guess I could attempt using the beta driver.

I run Windows 10 Home 64-bit, 16 MB of RAM, Intel Core i7-6700K (4.0 GHz), and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970. If I need to add more information, please let me know and I’ll add it.

I still, STILL want some more face options. How about elderly options? I walk around town and see an “old woman”, and yet she looks like she’s in her 20s. Maybe there’s some mesmer magic at work here… Plus, maybe some folks would like to make an older character.

Also, I’d love to see some of the choices you see in GW1. Remember those necromancer faces? Heck, I’d love to see uglier choices for all, male or female. You can kind of do that with Asura and definitely with the Charr, but the others are far too pretty. Mix it up a bit! Throw more stuff into the makeover kits or something. I know it might be difficult what with facial animating and all that, but I can tell you now that there would be a lot of people who would love to have this kind of stuff. I’d definitely worship you guys if you pulled this off, as well as throw some money at you guys.

Posting once again to show that I’m still interested in seeing good ol’ Cantha make some kind of return. And if they decide to block Elona, I’ll pee kittens. With spikes. Don’t make me (or others) pee spiked kittens. It’d be painful.

Me too. Driving me insane. Sent in an in game bug report as well… Settler is stuck at 20% and Consortium is stuck at 0%. Tried logging out and back in and that didn’t work.

Posting again to show that I am STILL interested in seeing Cantha again. Make it happen!

Hate those Dredge suits… but in a way, I do enjoy the challenge they give.

They will likely do this, as they did with GW1. There’s also a huge thread in general discussion about adding some previous areas in GW1 into GW2, namely Cantha.

This has to be one of my most favorite things about playing an Elementalist and a Necromancer. The death animations on enemies are just wonderful.

Edit: I’d also like to suggest a shift in focus on working on polishing the game a bit. I do love the stuff you’re giving us… but I’d like to see some improvements on what we have already.

Posted here before, but I’m returning to post again to show my interest in seeing Cantha (and Elona) return in GW2. If it’s put in there, you can bet that I’ll throw my money at it. DO IT NOW NCSOFT. You’ve disappointed me already… Don’t disappoint me (and likely many others as well) again.

Need uglier face options for all races. Older faces would be great too. Heck, just “average” faces would be nice. I really miss the varied faces Necros had in GW1. Now that its not limited to just class, I think we all need more varied faces.

When I play this game, I think of GW1’s Prophecies. I enjoyed the game but at the same time… Eh. Then expansions came out. GW1 became something after they whipped out more areas to explore and varying difficulty. GW2 is far from perfect, but so was GW1. This game is still very young, so I’m not gonna bash on it until I see more work done. The Karka event is my only gripe.

I’m sure that with time they’ll iron out some things as long as we give them constructive criticism.

From the sounds of it, its NOT the devs who made this decision. Its NCSoft.

I love Quaggans. I typically don’t like cutesy things but Quaggans… they melt my heart.

We all should do everything we can to keep this subject active!

To take Cantha away from us is saddening. I’ll admit that Shiro was a bit of a disappointing villain, but Cantha as a whole was fantastic. Please don’t do this to the players… Heck, don’t do this to Anet! Anet and the fans have expressed their desire to return to this place in GW2. Let us get back to it. I don’t care if it takes years to return to Cantha, but its better than never going back at all.

Oh another thing… Probably unlikely to happen, but I would love it if outfits in the gem store were just unlocked for the entire account, for all your characters to enjoy. That’s the same boat as dyes being unlocked for the account too though. :\ Still, would like to throw it out there.

Edit: Oh yeah, PUT IN UGLIER CHARACTER CREATION OPTIONS FOR ALL RACES AND GENDERS! I’m not talking about JUST scars either, I want UGLY. Ugly hair, ugly faces, and so on. Wouldn’t mind having more aged looking options too. I personally think that the Norn females look WAY too fragile too. The males are kitten beefy, why not at least make an option to make the females a bit bulkier? Not saying they should look like weight lifters, but you know what I mean. They just look too similar to human females… just taller. Heck, why not let people have more body type options for all races for that matter? :P

The world is DEAD. I don’t know what caused it… Fractals or just people leaving the game or whatever, but it needs to be fixed. Now I’m not blaming the dungeon for this completely (just a bit ), cause I really have no idea why people aren’t just out there playing around in Orr or something. It’s difficult for completionists to get to certain skill points when they are guarded by Champions. This wouldn’t be an issue if there were actually people out there.

Plus… well, I dunno. It gets lonely out there man!

While I wouldn’t really mind it, I wouldn’t want it to be a requirement. Currently I’m fine with just walking around and “climbing” things. Makes things more interesting in my opinion. When you NEED a flying mount to get somewhere, its not fun. Also dragons as mounts? Eh. I say we’re fine as we are now, but if they do add in mounts, I won’t cry over it… I just won’t get one.

Mursaat are a no for me. They’re just… eh… I’d much prefer Tengus. I say we just kill any and all Mursaat, should any of them be hanging around still. As for Largos… I just don’t like them much either. I dunno WHY but they just make my left butt cheek twitch.

I could only think of one thing: WoW. So no.

Edit: Also I just don’t see the point of it. If you’re beating a dungeon then who cares about damage? Dunno. Just don’t see the use for a damage meter.

Titles are a “for fun” thing to me… Giving them buffs in PvE is just… Urgh. I dunno. It seems bad and stuff. People could just re enable this title buff and stuff. I wish I could explain this better, but I feel like it’s a bad idea anyway. :\

Plus I just doubt the devs would be on board with the buffs too.

Uglier faces for humans would be wonderful. I miss some of the necro face options in GW1.

Regardless of the treatment I get ingame, I always help with mobs, I do not aggro train (run past hostiles and then trail them on to someone else), etc etc.. All games come with a batch of bad apples, but I won’t let them ruin the experience. Most of them WANT you to react to them. Don’t entertain them and you’ll be fine… just don’t go sour cause of these people. You’ll only make the problem even worse.

I found Guardian to be mind numbingly easy with a Great Sword equipped. I have yet to try out the Warrior class though… Need a decent concept.
