I disagree Necros are beastly in WvW (that’s what I do the most), mine is anyway and there are several videos and threads around this forum showing the same. It is difficult to get a grasp of what works and what doesn’t but once you get there the class becomes very fun. Spend some more time tinkering with builds and practicing your player fighting skills and eventually you will find a build you like that works well.
I’ve seen some of your videos, you do nice, but as anyone with a Necro I haven’t found you “beastly” (You and no-one, please don’t take this as an offense, nothing further).
Yes, lets make an OP skill more OP by taking away the only counter available. Sorry if this response is harsh and your post well-intentioned… but the consequences would be ridiculous.
OP? Plague is nice but far from OP, you may upset some people with Poison + Blind + Chill (Traited) and I like it very much for group fights and dungeons. But that’s it.
I would like to see Plague work more offensively, the 1 is plain bad and the 3 is really short, if they manage to get away for you (Really easy) you don’t have anything to close the gap, if you yourself get crippled, chilled or immobilized then you depend that people are not paying attention, because they just have to walk away a little from you.
Once the enemy knows how Plague works, you’re in a tight spot.

Economy, I guess, I’ve read a lot of times “Devs can’t talk about that or prices will raise/go down”
And most of the times it’s absolutely true, if you know (or suspect) that bleed damage is gonna get buffed Earth Sigils’s price will raise, if you know X class weapon is gonna be buffed, again, that weapon’s price will raise, if you know food buffs will get nerfer… well, you get the point.
It’s just sad and enraging, this whole “Prices, economy, inflation, devaluation of money, speculation, market knowledge, yada yada insert more economic mumbo jumbo here” it’s getting in the way of fun and improvement of the game.
And this will not end until people get more money doing stuff than playing the TP and more absolute forms of getting items are released so people can see automatically why an item is valuable or not.
Gold its just to powerful right now, when the formula is “Skill = Best money” and no “Free Time: Best money” or “Flip Items/ Speculate = Best money” things will change.
I would love to do Fractals lvl 62 knowing that it’s gonna be hell on earth but if me and my pals beat it we will get awezome l00t and money, not listing my buy orders before go to bed…

I’m usually reluctant to post direct build for two main reasons, first is the lack of a complete builder and second I think it constraints people creativity if you’re not careful, but anyway.

This build deserves explanation:
This build if for Zerg Vs Zerg situations, specifically, it strengths and weakness are crafted arround that idea, but I don’t think Zerg Vs Zerg is good, nor in a strategical sense or just enjoyable, that’s why I don’t use it.
So, out of that it’s just a glass canon build that can’t kill the enemy quickly enough.
The “why’s”
- Weapons: Staff is mandatory, greater marks and reduced coldowns, Scepter/Dagger just the second best AoE Set.
- Skills: Well of Blood: AoE Heal (Not much) and Light Combo Field, the other wells, obvious reasons, Plague is brilliant in Zerg’s situations.
- Traits: This would be to long, don’t want to steal the post, Whitering Precision is really useful.
- Gear: Excelent Crit (About +90% with fury), the sigils make a nice amout of bleeds and some extra vul, the runes + Plague is really strong.
This is embarrassingly short, gear + sigils can be changed to Knigth’s (Def) or even Zerkers (Ofs), there a lot’s of “Why not…?” like taking Spectral Wall instead of WoD and focus over dagger to go high vulnerability, changing some equipment to add survivability if needed, etc.
The most important is to adapt to your group, if you group can keep protection up no-matter what or do amazing healing it really differs from a heavy AoE or scatter-type of Zerg, also, the worse weakness in a wells build is coldowns, but with Plague + Death Shroud it can be controlled.

If you ask me, you’re mindset is above 90% of the people who actually play Wv3, so keep it up.
I use a classic conditionmancer with a twist, because it’s better for small figths, in a “zergy” kind of battle the Wellmancer with IX Curses is the best.
I have failed to find better builds for those two Wv3 situations.
I feel the same.
But I also find 90% of the legendaries ugly, I mean, really ugly, and the other 10% just “meh”.
This would be nice to costume battles and alike, but hey, people like it.
I can’t imagine Link in Ocarina of Time using that bow and I’m really surprised the tolerance of the people before bad cuteness-overload. Well, it isn’t even cute, I love kitty cats (Hey, I’m breathing), but that bow…? -_-
It’s nice people try to make theories about why other people don’t like the bow, but I have a wide sense of humor (It’s ok to say it?), that’s not the problem, I guess the problems come more in the shape of a representation of the false improvement that weapons and power give to the human ego, the more badas, the more boost.
But Legendaries are all about “prestige” one of the most useless and refined forms of ego, what do you want for me?
We generally don’t release patch information beforehand for the simple reason that things don’t always make it. Sometimes, we have to hold off on a feature at the last minute, and it’s better not to over-promise.

I find it a ridiculous argument to say anything in PvP aspect, the only mode is capture the point, the point is little bigger than most AoE’s, obviously people are going to try and force enemies out of the circle, is more efficient to get my enemy(s) out of the circle than killing him with single target DPS. It’s just how the system works.
In PvE, well, sorry, but I’m not buying that, the problem is not people using AoE’s skills even against one mob the problem is the lack of GOOD single target DPS skills in many classes, a Warrior HB could do 16-19k to a single mob if traited and geared (Every 8 seconds), me as a Necro would do about 5k-7k maximun, I can only dream to get a little bit closer if I lay down 2 wells and get Lich Form, So a single skill vs 2 utilities and an elite. Of course i’m gonna spec into AoE, not for the damage, just for the condition, I dare anyone to show me a good way a Necro can run conditions using single target skills, hell, sometimes my group need to kill only one mob and I have a really bad time with my AoE’s.
In Wv3, I’m sorry, until ArenaNet makes a good system to change into various builds it’s simply ineffective, even If I’m roaming or about to engage a 2vs2 o 3vs3 and know I can do better changing my spec It’s just to much time, just impossible, change all gear, re-spec traits, change weapons and utilities, If i know I’m gonna face a lot of enemies how on earth someone would think that is better to spec into Single Target DPS Duelist-Style spec?
And more than that, how a competent company would think that cornering the player to do it by nerfing the most logical option is a good way to behave?
And even if all this didn’t exist how is this solution better than fixing the classes so the players have a chance to actually run different and useful builds?
Even the most common, cheap, useful and versatile way of dealing with players, while on attack or defense, is the arrow cart, an AoE weapon. It seems like the system is built around that, cannons, catapults, trebuchets,oil, why would people don’t follow that logical and effective ideas?
With all this AoE nerf I just realized I’ve never seen a complain about AoE’s in general being OP, I’ve read a lot of complains about a lot of things that are OP, never AoE :S.
But Anet seems to think this a very important issue, important enough to be a priority over the feedback of the forums(s).
So my question is, do you feel listened to? Please don’t just make a doom-hateful-frustated thread, I mean, in your SUBJECTIVE opinion, do you feel like your feedback is useful and listened to?
I have to confess that lately when I read “Thanks for your feedback” I feel some cynical sadness inside of me.
Any good Necromancer will keep there LF 100% always, in WvW with the amount of critters around its not hard to do and any fair duelist will allow you to start on 100% LF. Why would they ask you to start with a handicap when all other classes start with theres;
- Engineers automatically have there F1 – F4 toolbelts
- Elementalists start with all 4 atunements off CD and there passive effects.
- Guardians start with there passive F1 – F3 buffs and actives.
- Rangers start with both pets full.
- Theifs start on full init + steal.
only two classes that need to build are;
- Warriors, build full adrenaline with one heal anyway.
- Mesmers have no clones out to begin with, but its not like they don’t use them in a fight… lol.
I agree with you in the fact that is more a fair combat with some life force, maybe not 100%, but about 50%.
The problem is that when arenas and duel arrive I highly doubt we will start them with anything but 0% Life Force.
One of my concerns if the fact that a lot of people you were fighting were honorable enough to not loose time in their advantage, with wells in cooldown and little Life Force a thief could just wait to recharge initiative while putting some distance and then try again.
And, if It doesn’t bother you, I would like to ask again: How does this build works in Zerg Vs Zerg environments?

Lich Form is far from a death sentence if your referring to my side, with almost double base armour, additional health, stability and an almost instant channel CC & chill Lich Form has saved my butt many times, and the 105% critical chance 114% damage hitting 5k #1’s helps too
Indeed, but there was a couple of times you pop it with low health and some of them started to run away or dodge, If they had faced you they might have had a chance, also at the times I used Lich I found my self in a pretty bad situation if the enemy just dodge my number 3 into my back. Maybe I should give it a try again.
Another question, with the Life Force at 0% at the start of the fight how would you see your odds? Has a Necro (Any Build) any chances 1vs1 in that situation in your opinion?

Could you rate the average skill of your opponents? Some of them are really headless chicken, when you pop Lich Form (Almost a death sentence) They just flee instead of finishing you, others stand in the wells and don’t dodge the Axe 2 or DS 4 (?¿?¿), thiefs actually attack you while inside of marks (Any good thieve would wait, reaper’s mark, the only useful in that case is 40 sec cooldown :S) Most don’t interrupt your healings, never, I’m clueless.
One tip that has worked for me when using marks against thiefs: Bad ones are always at your back, always, good ones wait or use ranged attacks, but hey they’re also usually at your back. I tend to save reapers mark and dodge right when they trigger a mark, otherwise I have a big trouble, good ones attack you with their finger over the stun breaker to avoid fear.
Anyway, it’s a nice cheering up video and you’re a good player

Sure, and also we’re able to dodge and regen health out of combat… c’mon, everybody can do that, and we’re not excelent at it…

Not so many, we have DS 3 Doom, an awesome skills, and then… Staff 5 (40 secs recharge) and Warhorn 4 (30 secs recharge), maybe we can count Flesh Golem charge,

Anybody who have tried to chase someone with a necro will know that this sound nice in theory but not in practice, most of that abilities are conditions, so they get usually cleansed almost immediately and fear is useless to slow down someone if you’re chasing him, leaving us with Golem Charge and Dagger 3, wich also is a condition.

False, low health has nothing to do with that, F1 Steal and Heartseeker x2 is actually a good way to “chase down enemies who are low on health”, we don’t have anything that gets influenced by enemies life except one trait
I’m going to be honest, I refuse to accept this is what Anet developers think this class is, or almost any of them in their Class Philosophy because that would really mean they don’t have the most minimal clue about what they have created.
It’s not sarcastic, my brain refuses to believe it, it’s absolutely impossible to say things like this if you play the classes, let alone if you actually created them, I hope this is what they want them to become.

Well surely you are pretending it isn’t alight, I am totally ok with it as are many others. Sure in the fairy tale world of comic books the good guys win and the baddies lose, but this is the real world and it doesnt give a crap about what you think or what anyone thinks.
Lots of people in this world, and they will not all bend to your idea of how it should be. The game of life has been around a LONG time before you came to the field, and it will be around even longer after your gone. So what, it’s trash talking in a MMORPG going to curse you for a lifetime or regrets? Of course not, this is just a really minor topic in somebody life, people are going to behave like they want, no matter what you or I say, but lets act like sensible people, trash talk is forbidden in many sports, especially in combat ones, for a reason, it has nothing to do with the game and only brings kitten on the table.
Of course many people will happily consume that and claim for an additional drop of blood if they can.
Admittedly, trash talking can devolve into elementary name calling due to the anonymity of the Internet, and cyber bullying has become a big concern. However, when trash talking is utilized at its very essence, it becomes a skill that when mastered can really mess with your opponent’s psyche and confidence, consequently affecting every action that’s taken.
Don’t mix things, that has nothing to do with a healthy technique in a sport, getting your opponent angry, upset or sorrowful is just a disgusting manipulation performed to gain an advantage over peoples fears, psychological weakness or problems.
Just like a lot of disgusting things elite sports bring into peoples life. So please cut the crap, there are a lot of dirty and unhonorables techniques and strategies that are needed to perform in an elite ambient, that don’t neglect the fact they are dirty and unhonorables, so let’s stop trying to take the emotional charge out of this things “It’s how the sport works” “This is needed” “They are doing it also”.
If you want to do it, do it, but don’t pretend is alright.

First of all, last thread about this was closed for discussing moderators decisions, and the other one, for making a petition, so please, keep that topics out of here, maybe we can have a nice topic about Reanimator within forum rules:
I don’t like reanimator very much, but I don’t hate it, sometimes It does something, couple of hits, couple of bleeds, it’s not horrible when it works.
But It’s obvious it has problems, first of all, it’s a forced trait that can cause you problems, this is unique isn’t it? It can keep you in combat, hit the an unmarked mob, generate aggro or trigger undesired effects.
The problem it’s not the Jagged Horrors, in Lich form they are quite nice, if they don’t get obliterated by an Aoe they can add some nice bleeds, the problem I think we all agree is to be forced to have it if you want the toughness line, which has things like Staff Mastery, Greater Marks or Reapers Protection.
My solution: Give it a 5% chance to spawn a Jagged Horror whenever a minion deals a hit, put a 20-25 secs cooldown and maybe exclude Flesh Golem.
Or just change it, make it a Staff Marks 10% chance Blast Finishers, just for say something.
Again, please, try to keep this into the forum rules
It would be nice if that moderator could give us some basic guidelines to try to discuss and understand peoples point of view about an hypothetic disable of the trait, if they agree or disagree or the reasons behind their opinions.
If the problem is that a “Petition” is against the rules I guess it could be renamed, Anet developers are always thanking people for the feedback and, a strong petition about disabling something (Which is an auto-nerf) could be so bad? I mean, let’s pretend they ask every single necromancer player in the game and they all agree to have this nerf (This is, of course, untrue and impossible, but let’s pretend) Would it really be that bad to simply get ride of it?
I consider this feedback, and an issue, more than that, people are not asking for a fix or a buff, just for the option to disable it.

What would be reasonable would be to delete the gold acquired by this exploit and give a warning to the player.
I’m sure a lot of people did this on purpose hopping that nothing would happened but maybe others thought it was ok.
I actually make money taking advantage of other people lack of awareness, laziness or rush on the TP, why would players had to be punished by Anet lack of awareness, laziness or rush at a game mechanic?

Op though you and I agree on this point, I was surprised that the gear stat progression does not appeal to you.
On paper you seemed to be the type of person that they are now trying to target.
1. Never played GW1 (so you would not have experienced horizontal progression).
2. Lvl 80
3. Only one character.If you liked the fact there was no gear stat progression, why did you keep playing?
Arenanet seems to think that they had to do this for people who reached lvl 80 and really needed character progression based on gear tiers.
Well, the MMORPG that I’ve played more hours has been Rising Force Online, official server and two other private servers, in this games the level max was 55 (At least, was in my time), if you were using other armor (Even 53) you were weak, really weak. This game had a cash shop an upgrades for the armor, so a lvl 55 +4 armor was clearly better than a lvl 55 +1, but all in all at level 55 you were more or less done, this game focused heavily in what would be Wv3 in Guild Wars 2 (A lot more simple), with the majority of zones being open pvp.
What I liked about this game is that in lvl 55 I was (again,more or less) free to play, with my friends, with my guild, dpsing that horrible regenerating bosses or raiding in communal farming zones, that was fun for me, actually the process to make a new 55 character was quite boring and tiresome.
So this game sounded like a great one for me, and its been, but I don’t like the way things seems to be turning into.
For me stats are not important in this kind of games, they can matter in single player games because its me vs the game entities, and the game entities don’t give a dam if I “outgear” them, nor do I viceversa, and the content is locked, so I know for sure the hardest enemy will be the hardest enemy tomorrow, as will be the max stats I can reach, if I want to.
Why I kept playing in lvl 80? Well, playing this game is fun, it’s really only that, even with the pvp imbalance, even with Wv3 bugs and problems, its really fun, I love dodging, jumping puzzles, the skills, the lore, the dinamics, hell, I like this game.
I’m currently level an alt some times, just because its fun, not because I run out of thing to do with my main, I just want to experience the other zones with other character, other skills, other ways, also, playing in Wv3 with a lvl 15 char with your friends is really funny.
I’ve been playing for 275-300 h’s aprox, and I honestly think I can really play another 300 more with just the actual content, heck, even more…
So this game is not for everyones taste, like any other in the world, but I really think that reading “Guild Wars 2: One of the most played e-sports of the year” because your pvp is nicely crafted and finely balanced, fun and varied it’s a better way to earn money than trying to catch everyones attention: “who defends everything defends nothing”
I understand people who want to gear for grind, I don’t want to offend anyone but I don’t think it’s a healthy way to play, chasing always the next and not enjoying what you do in the present is a unhappy way to live life, IMHO of course.

I would like to say what I think, please note this isn’t a flame or hate post and I trust this will be taken as it is, my opinion.
Never played GW1, 1 level 80 char, full exotics, I do Pve/Pvp/WvWvW
Ascender Gear: Really bad idea, not only because it’s a tier and it take grind to get it (A grind we were told would not exist, not like “grind” for exotics, please, note the difference) and makes exotics obsolete, I had started to get a different set of gear so I could switch builds in Wv3, now it’s feels useless. Why? Easy, I get max gear for mental tranquility, so, If a player does something better than me I can just say “It’s not the gear, he’s just better” (Balance apart) It’s like a mental self inflict trap in some ways, a pretty nice one, also, I don’t believe the “cover gap” thingy:
1. Comestic grind gap: The legendary grind is for cosmetics, a mid tier would be higher difficult/more time demanding cosmetics than Dungeon armors, nothing to do with stats.
2. Stats grind gap: Inexistent, nothing to cover
The difference is simple:
Before: I wasn’t interested in Legendaries, not even a little, I could care less if they all disappear, pluff.
After: I better get Ascended (Even Legendary) if I want to keep my “mind peace”, and it’s not gonna be easy…
Content: Nothing bad to say, FOTM are great and can be experience totally without any added grind, new area is ok and event, well, laggy, but I can take it.
Company attitude: Awful, really sad, it’s obvious people are not happy, It’s pretty obvious this is not what they sold us (This alone is just enough) and the responses had being discouraging.
I can’t understand this change, another profession, new skills for existing ones (Even unbalanced, it’s better than this), new races, focus on pvp or Wv3, new town clothes, armors, even “hard mode” for existing dungeons, there were millions better solutions than a new tier of gear.
Even if all the people who complain are totally wrong, If I was Anet I would be concerned about a good number of my clients feeling lied, tricked or whatever, for me it would be like “What?! Not guys, nothing like that, here, let me explain it, feel free to question anything, I will answer”
