As a west coast resident I have spent the last 3+ years sitting in traffic while reset happens. For the first time since I started playing this game I can finally enjoy reset with my guild mates. Please don’t take this away from me.
Unfortunately this is what a server needs to do to climb a tier apparently. FA had a winning streak that lasted months and was unable to attain T1, now it’s YB’s turn and they are steamrolling everything and hardcore PPT’ing in a bid for T1. At least something is happening, NA T1/T2 has been stagnant far too long.
But a server shouldn’t have to win by that much of a margin in order to gain points. It’s definitely not healthy for wvw.
How are we supposed to trust anything from Anet when they label a server like UW as “medium”
Everyone knows UW does not have a “medium” population. Saying otherwise only goes to show how anet will say whatever lies to squeeze more transfer money from the players.
There is no way in the nine hells that I am ever giving another penny to this terrible terrible company. The only reason I and many others are still here is for the lack of any other game with large scale open world PVP, and the minute another game comes out with this I will drop GW2 like the terd that it is.
In a few days from now, once everyone has burned through their stash of golems, it will truly become a money war, and whoever can field the most omegas will win.
It has rendered upgrades pointless, there are currently 0 waypoints in all of wvw in the FA/YB/SOS matchup, I expect a similar situation in the other tiers. Gunna be a whole lot of running between keeps this week.
All of you with stacks of spare skill points laying around must not WvW or build siege very much. I had to spend what precious few points I had left to rebuy skills I already had.
There are many hops (routers) between your house and Anet’s servers, any one of which could be responsible for your skill lag. It’s not necessarily serverside. A 100mb connection doesn’t do anything for you if your’re pinging in the triple digits.
Kill the downloads of course, and also try playing over ethernet (if you’re on wifi) If you have a sub 100 ping, no FPS problems (60+), and are still getting 2+ second skill lag, then you can effectively blame the servers.
Gift of Battle = WVW rank 14. That’s about five months of doing the easy Master of Ruins/Land Claimer type dailies. During which time you will inevitably get ganked periodically by groups you never see coming. Totally not worth it.
You can gain 14 ranks in literally 1 day of k-training in Edge of the Mists. Do not let this stop you from getting a legendary.
Personally I don’t like it at all and I don’t find it fun att all putting 4 lvl 80 exotics into the Forge and getting lower level exotic back.
Many share this view and this is why the price of precursors will ultimately be affected even though the drop rate has supposedly stayed the same. Just less people tossing things into the mystic toilet.
Same reason the frost gorge train was nerfed, Anet wants you buying gold with your credit card, not earning it in-game.
Or maybe because the whole champ train gimmick was stupid gameplay?
After watching Anet play whack-a-mole with gold income for a year and half now, it’s become blatantly obvious they want you to spend RL cash on gold instead of earning it in in game the old fashioned way. Everything Anet does is a thinly veiled attempt to squeeze more money out of the community.

There IS an option to turn bobble heads off btw, click on the options cogwheel in the top left of your screen, and then click the “exit to desktop” menu item.
In GW1 winners of pvp tournaments were awarded actual real life prizes e.i cash. I seem to remember a 100k dollar tourny at one point.
In GW2, a game that’s made orders of magnitude more profits than it’s predecessor, they are giving away pixels, at zero cost to the company, and somehow this is too much
Would just like to point out that I wouldn’t hold to much stock in Anet’s promises of not making any major changes while the WvW season 2 is running as they also said that about season 1 yet we got a slew of PvE content thrown into the borderlands, among other things
IIRC in the beta there were several skills which involved channeling e.i actively pressing a key would affect the duration. One of the issues with this is with the amount of skill lag currently in the game, particularly in WvW, by the the time the server registers you having depressed the key the full duration of the skill has elapsed anyway. Siege skills have fairly long channeling durations and AFAIK the only active (e.i not passive) channeling skills left in the game, so timing can be tricky even with predictable skill lag. Implementing this on combat skills that only last 1-2 seconds could be an issue.
Yes please! Half the time I can’t even see what I’m looting (unless I manually minimize everything) because the entire right side of my relatively small screen (1600×900px) is taken up with minimap + useless trackers
