Guild Wars 2

Same unplayable lag for me and most of my guildmates from Singapore. It’s not 1-sec lag. The lag spikes duration gets longer and longer, until it lasts minutes and you can’t use skills or even harvest.

Having this problem too over the past few days. It’s not my internet connection because TS3 and youtube continues to work while I lose connection to guild wars 2.

WvW is the most fun when the fights go on almost forever, and there’s loot for all.

What if, at every hour, when there’s enough people (40) on at least 2 servers, an event boss appears in a random area of the map? The server that downs the boss gets 50 points and a boss chest, like in PvE?

Temporary portals can also lead players from the wps to the boss area to ensure a steady stream.

Just wondering what you guys enjoyed in WvW recently.

For me, it’s how quickly the tides can turn. Recently, I was investigating the cause of the timer in Bay. After searching the South Gate, walls, Water Gate and North West gate, I located a zerg with 4 rams on the North Gate. The un-upgraded gate was going down fast!

I called out on map chat, but no one answered and we had no siege up. Playing a guardian, I tried to bump people off their rams with shield skill #5, but at that very moment, the gate went down! I felt like I was caught naked by this big zerg.

I ran towards the inner keep, but I noticed a blue shield on the mini map! My zerg was moving towards the top of the gate. I knew the enemy zerg had their eyes on me and in their hurry to bag me, they didn’t notice my zerg up top. I slowed to a walk as the enemy zerg rushed towards me and engaged me in combat, to have my own zerg eat them up from behind.

I survived and managed to tag quite a number of them.

It’s hard to miss when you have a few people throwing siege at the same time.
You can’t see who threw what.

The guy had amazing stamina. Did it for a few hours to the commander on EBL and followed him to JQBL. Commander laughed about it good-naturedly, because we were having fun defending garrison and wiped the enemy zerg a few times at our off-peak time (and enemy’s peak).

Many people stayed up till 3 am and beyond just to do that.

There was an annoying troll in WvW yesterday who kept on following the commander.

When commander dropped food, the troll dropped a siege on it.
Sieging a gate, the troll dropped trebuchets to burn our supply.
Sieging a wall in a tower with a zerg inside, the troll dropped rams and trebs on top of our cata, preventing it from being built.

When enemy was downed and we were about to stomp, the troll dropped siege on the downed guy.

While we can press alt to avoid being trolled, these acts are annoying and it’s hard to see who did it. Suggest that anet introduce a feed, to say that ‘<Player’s Name> dropped a Catapult.’

This is so we can catch and report these people and all the realms will be safe.

Computer’s crashing immediately after patch too. No warning before it happens except that the screen goes blank, then the sounds gets garbled, then the computer reboots.

While the patch installed, everyone (TC, JQ etc) ended up on LA overflow. There was lots of love all around. <3

Not everyone thinks the same. I happen to agree with most if not all of what you say. We on TC will fight to the end and keep coming back regardless of numbers but we have alot of room to up our game. I appreciate your input. Its been great fights out there and am loving the new match up!

Actually, one of our commanders noticed that TC is very resilient and will try different tactics in zerg vs zergs. This usually leads to good fights all round!

I’m impressed that TC is still an upstanding server. Great job tonight with your 3-4 different teams on EBL fighting different objectives and stealth capping WC.

Bad news for Jade Quarry that our fair weather players have come back. They do stupid things on EBL like:
- laugh after killing one player with our zerg (just the few keep doing it – I’ve told them off)
- die within the first pass of a zerg vs zerg
- trolling on mapchat

FA and TC are outmanned most of the time on SEA timing, but when they get enough people on, the fun begins…

And JQ doesn’t PvDoor at SEA, BG and SoR has large zergs to fight against them at this timezone.

Ya, we actually get to fight massive BG and SOR zergs on EBL during SEA prime time, which is what makes it fun. Never know when BG or SOR might ambush or interrupt us while we’re taking a tower.

It’d be pretty boring playing against another server!

In JQ LA, there’s lots of talk about wvw too. It’s usually initiated by some troll from another server.

JQ has the same things, and no queues these days. WvW whenever you like!

Tried the clientport thing still disconnects my client and internet. If I don’t play guildwars I am fine.

I’m having the same problems.. GW2 has become a chat client and not a very good one at that. I was fine until today.

Not all zergs are the same. Good ones will raise downed allies, and keep tight. They also will have quite a lot of toughness and vit to prevent the enemy zerg from rallying off a downed enemy.

Bad ones will be full of chicken players, who will run away at the sign of the enemy, spreading the zerg thin. They will have players in zerkers gear who get downed in a few hits and these players never get raised because the chicken players are too busy running away.

With great size, comes the risk of great egos and drama. So far history has repeated itself on many servers.

Let’s hope all 3 T1 servers can keep growing so we can have well-matched battles across all time zones!

Seriously, the most fun thing about being in JQ is being able to clash with huge zergs from BG and SOR now.

What’s not fun? When you’re alone and both zergs run into you…

Had fun in BG BL last night. Zerg vs Zerg vs Zerg at the ruins. That was just crazy!

Question about [LOVE] guild. Are they a pacifist guild? One JQ mate tried to stop me from killing one that was running about without retaliating, but too late. :/

If pacifist.. what are you doing on WvW? (Collecting POIs???)

Yup, having the same problem at JQ vs BG vs SOR. My skills which are supposed to be immediate, don’t fire for 3 secs. I don’t know how long the delay is since I’m usually dead before I fire a shot.

Use seige weapons. 50 max target and lots of damage regardless of your setup and level. Lovely against zergs.

Downed state works well. I like it the way it is.

Those WvW newbies…Ppl are placing trebs there for months and there was no complains. Just take a mesmer, go close to the tower. Use Focus Pull ability and they are all dead. Simple as that.

EDMW had a discussion and we decided that Crystal Desert no longer had the PvE and WvW environment that we wanted. After much difficulty in deciding, EDMW has moved to Jade Quarry.

Me, I was touring TC when the decision was put up and made. It will be sad to leave CD behind, but I gotta go with my guild.

Strangely enough, a group of Yaks came over to our BL instead of liberating their completely blue BL. Maybe they thought the music in CDBL is better. Or they got the Yak Parade date/venue wrong.

To set somethings clear, Kaineng isn’t abusing the culling system; culling is affecting both sides equally. Culling simply needs to be fixed. If we have a hundred players that want to do wvwvw, do you think we turn them away because it could cause rendering issues? Didn’t think so.

In all seriousness though, good fights from all sides today. I hope things stay this eventful throughout the week.

The culling isn’t deliberate – walked into a middle of a battle without realising it. I think the other servers can’t see CD immediately either. So, no, I don’t think Kaineng or any server is abusing the culling system.

Edmw might be what you’re looking for. Will chat with you soon. We need more mesmers in wvw!

Fa did this to us sometimes when we were defending against another server. But never for extended periods. I understand your pain.

FA is in tier 3 and is staying there which the OP doesn’t want. Recommending Ehmry Bay, Crystal Desert or Yak’s Bend for you.

I support these three too. Populated enough to be exciting but areas not overrun with people. Got good impressions of bay and yaks.

So now to all our fellow comrades in arm in cd, this post would clarified a few things EsF will stay on CD and we will continue to field full parties during our formal wvw days. All fellow comrades let us rally once again and be stronger

So sad that rumours are flying around, which has necessitated that the majority of the guilds to assure everyone else that it’s only a few guilds leaving, and not a huge exodus.

Hugable, really glad to hear you guys are staying. EsF, KoMe, Awe and Naga are guilds I know well and often see. I can’t imagine WvW without you and Leaxanna!

As for those guilds that are leaving – sad to say, I haven’t really gotten to know you, except for SEC and Val. It seems that your stay was brief or our playing times never overlapped.

Val’s presence on WvW will be sorely missed. Please come back if your new server mistreats you. ;(

People here have a habit of exaggerating. No, FA didn’t take all the NA guilds.

At NA primetime, we were still holding portions of EBL in WvW.

1. Most of the guilds are staying (including EDMW). A few have left, true, but not the exodus that affected IoJ.

2. If anyone noticed, a large number of our WvWers are PvEing, perhaps to finally earn some money or good loot. We used the dragons for target practice.

3. CD wasn’t always #1, so losing once in a tier doesn’t hold much significance. I am tired of fighting the same opponent after so many rounds. Perhaps many feel the same too.

4. And it’s Garnished Dessert!!!!

How come CD is losing guilds?

CD has had 1 guild transfer (KH), and 1 considering moving that I know of. It’s nothing like the mass exoduses (exodi?) that have happened before.

These things happen, and with the deadline looming like a wedding date, it may give some people cold feet about committing to CD for life.

EDMW is happy to stay put, and other guilds have echoed the same sentiments.
