I have a bug where the health bar floating above people’s heads appears to be empty or partly empty, regardless of the actual state of the health bar. I can click on them and see their true health percentage, but how much the floating bar is filled fluctuates.

You need to play 3 matches a day, for 15 days, and that 4 times. So 60 days total. A season takes about 8 weeks, that’s 56 days, if we ignore the first and last day it’s 54 days. So clearly not enough, you need at least 2 seasons (but you will need to play A LOT to get it in 2 seasons, since you also need a lot of wins).

But you should know, we’re on season 8 now, and they added it in season 1 (start of last year), with the idea of adding a new legendary backpack every year. They didn’t do that, and instead decided to just keep this one.

ANet has stated that they want a shorter gap between two seasons, so it is possible that season 9 starts end of october or beginning of november, in which case you could still get it this year.

Don’t worry though, they’ve said it will still be obtainable no matter what, so you don’t have to fear on missing out.

I got a message my client disconnected so I had to quit the game. Now, I can’t log back in, instead I get a message that the client is unable to connect to the login server. See attachment. It tells me to visit https://support.guildwars2.com/ but that site is also down! And the API is also down…

But I strongly recommend buying before the 21st at the latest. Depending on where you are in the world and when exactly the expansion goes live the pre-purchase window could end early, or late.

If I remember correctly for HoT it was midnight on the release day, but in Pacific Time (since that’s Anet’s time zone) so we had people in Australia complaining that it was a day late and people in the Americas complaining that they’d miss almost the entire first day because they’d be asleep and then at work/school.

How long do we have to pre-purchase the new expansion? Can you do it just any time before the launch?

Well what things can you do on your own? There is not always a commander on the map or on any map, and sometimes you still want to play wvw. Guiding dolyaks is not so interesting and also useless most of the time. The only thing I can think of is flipping sentries and ruins/shrines. But are there other things you can do (if you are terrible at taking 1v1s like I am)?

I believe that for raiding at least, ascended weapons are more important to have than ascended armor. For low level fractals, ascended weapons or armor are definitely not necessary, you will do fine with exotic gear. Do you already have a full set of exotic gear?

If you want ascended weapons, I think there are four options. First is to play PvP and hope that you drop an ascended box. Second is to craft them. Third is to craft some marks and use those in combination with fractal relics and gold to buy ascended gear from the vendors in the Mistlock Observatory. Fourth is to craft some marks and use those in combination with shards of glory you get from pvp to buy ascended gear from the vendor in the PvP lobby.

So if you don’t want to trust the PvP rng, you will need to craft either the gear itself or some marks. That means that you will need to level the relevant crafting disciplines, for Dragonhunter (Guardian) these are Weaponsmith and Armorsmith, to level 500. Only then can you craft the necessary stuff for ascended gear.

You should realise that you don’t just have gear, you have gear with specific stats. Some stats work better than others. The best combination of gear can be found on the quantify website, here: http://qtfy.eu/build/guardian As you can see, you will need weapons and armor with the Berserker stat. In game, these are called Zojja’s Weapons and Zojja’s Armor for ascended gear.

So, there is not really a quick and easy way to get ascended gear, probably the easiest and cheapest (but not at all quick) way is to craft them. But the good news is that you don’t need ascended gear to play the low level fractals, exotic is sufficient for that.

How do I play against mesmers as a ranger with lb and gs? In 1v1 situations eg holding a point or something. They always teleport around or become invisible or have multiple copies of themselves and that confuses me.

I can’t advice you on what build you should use, but here are a couple builds: http://qtfy.enjin.com/ranger. I was adviced to go for Power Druid, but I don’t know if that is the generalist of these builds.

Getting ascended in general is hard, but getting ascended rings is very easy, you get them by doing fractal dailies (they either drop from the chests or you buy them with the pristine fractal relics). So even if you don’t know what build to go for yet, you can already get some rings.

Also note that your skills, traits and specializations will be changed (or at least they were in my case).

I just did that yesterday on my level 80 ranger and I did get a full set of exotic gear (armour and weapons, including two aquatic weapons, only the breathing apparatus was masterwork). All gear is soulbound.

I really hate these kinds of things, I don’t like boosts in general and especially this one is useless because I prefer leveling my characters in the ordinary way. So what can I do with it? Destroy it or use it on a level 80 character? I can’t move it from my inventory…

I think Illconceived meant the break-even point for Copper-Fed compared to Silver-Fed. The cost-per-salvage difference between those is 57 copper, and with 200 gold for 800 gems, that gives you 200*100*100/57 = 35.000 salvages. So if you switch now from Copper-Fed to Silver-Fed, you will have broken even after 35.000 salvages.

Of course that is not what you need to break even on the Copper-Fed itself. A normal salvage costs 3.52 copper, so with a difference of 0.52 copper per salvage you would need to salvage 200*100*100/0.52 =~ 3.85 million times to break even. To make clear how large this number is: if you play Guild Wars 2 for 10 years, you need to salvage about 1050 times every day to break even. So I doubt you will ever break even. You just get it for the convenience of not needing to manage kits for every character.

At the moment there are four official wikis (en, de, fr, es), they are all hosted by ANet (see also this page). So if you want to start an official wiki you should ask ANet to host an Italian wiki. If they don’t want to cooperate, you could try to start an unofficial wiki on wikia.com.

I am new to fractals but I understand you need AR. The higher the fractal level, the more the AR you need. You can only put infusions on ascended equipment. You can get infusions from playing fractals, the TP, or crafting.

1. What is a good way to get ascended equipment? What kind of equipment should I get first, armor/weapons/trinkets/backpack? I play druid. Is PvP a good way to get ascended gear or should I just play sub-20 fractals and it will drop eventually?

2. How do you build up your AR? Can I apply a +1 infusion to a ring and also take it off that ring to use it again or will it be lost? Is it best to build up your AR with the endgame (150 AR at fractal #100) in mind, or does that not matter? In other words, should I start saving for a +9 infusion or should I just throw the highest I can make now onto my gear?

3. Should I already be looking for certain stats on the infusions?

I’m not really a new player anymore but I would suggest looking in the starting areas maybe? When I was new I didn’t know this forum existed and I just walked around in the starting area getting distracted by every tree. You could ask in chat if there are new players who need help. Also it’s probably a good idea to say if you are in Europe or in North America.

Oh I could just waypoint so that wasn’t a problem. I could move around the whole map swimming, I had some nice views.

I logged out and in to the same character and then I fell through the map in Lion’s Arch. I was standing at the vista in the town square when it happened.

I don’t do missions so I sadly can’t help you with that. The wiki does mention some missions that you can do on your own if you join another guild’s instance, see here.

To level up your guild you need Guild Experience (GXP). You get 35 GXP for each guild upgrade, and 100 GXP for each restoration. Each level takes a 100 GXP, so if you are now level 12, you will need about 300 GXP to reach level 15. You can find an overview of upgrades on the wiki.

As far as I am aware, all materials required for guild upgrades can be acquired regardless of your player number, provided you have the appropriate crafting levels. So even with just two it can be done, although it will take some time.

Edit: I forgot to add, you also need Favor and Aetherium. The former comes from Guild Missions, the latter from your Mine.

Please do a “gold making tips” guide next time. I like gold, but everywhere people just say, do this fractal number, do multiloot, or do tp splitting, either it is too high level or just boring. Also I agree with you about the shield, it would be better as a backpack.
