Don’t feel bad, GW2 had horrible writing since day one. They axed off characters without reason in the personal stories back in the day and they sadly will continue this tradition untill the game dies.

Just think next time mate.
Eir’s death was not wasted, and her death may not have been heroic but it had more meaning. Being killed Mordy infront of Braham has given him drive to defeat the Dragon and perhaps all Dragons giving a bland character more depth and forwarding his story.
Faolin being the reason for Eir’s death also creates conflict within Caithe as she loves Faolin but was a good friend to Eir. Ultimately she makes a decision to side with us and fight to avenge Eir and give peace to her love.
It also gives your own character an enemy to focus on as during much of the story Mordremoth has no face. As I said, it my not be heroic but it does have meaning, it furthers two fairly mediocre characters stories.
Anyway her death is of no great loss to me, their are more interesting characters.
Read: lazy storywriting. Seems to a theme with this game nowadays.

Your fanboyism is incredibly nauseating.

If you quit “years ago” you can’t have played it for very long being that it’s only just about 3 years old now. Did you really give it a good chance to prove itself to you?
You tell me after a 1300 hours.

Anyone else foresee in the near future, the end of guild wars? I wouldn’t like to see the end but when shallow, uninteresting, unrewarding, frustrating game play take over, it’s time to leave the sinking ship I’m afraid.
I wish they would put the bleeding, diseased and shambling animal that is Guild Wars 2 out of it’s misery. I am afraid, however, that they will milk the cow dry, skin it and sell all the organs and bones for profit untill it can finally be put to rest. Maybe exploit the soul too for eternal torment…
I quit years ago and I am quite happy that I did, the whole game has become a joke and not one of the funny variety.

I fully agree with you, but your plea will fall on deaf ears.

How many of the people who bought the game actually play or ever return when compared to WoW?
Surely not 7.3 million!

@OP
You are shocked?
They have been milking nostalgia for money since the release of GW2. Also this is lame rather than creative.

I also wish Anet would shut down everything and put this bleeding animal that is GW2 out of its misery. Alas the beast needs to be on life support to milk the last ounce of its dignity for cashola.

Freedom I received for quitting this game long ago. Something I am really proud of.

Expect the issue to be fixed after female humans get their idle animation back, My Greatest fear storyline is restored and ofcourse Cantha.

Man, you chose to spend hours on a gamble by grinding monotone content. You get angry that the vague reward did not meet your expectations? A lesson learned, I hope.

Doing something else besides GW2 for a while is a valid option. Just brainstorming here…

Pretty much beats the record for wasting your valuable time left on this planet. Aside from that, no, not really.

Not happening, everyone is going to the jungle now and LA will have to wait for another three years to be rebuilt, if ever.

If you rearrange the letters in META you get MEAT. Basically every time you eat meat or see meat, boom, META! Mind blown, eh?

Glad to see at least someone agrees on the terrible writing from ‘the industries finest’ that this game has to offer. I hear your pain, kind person, I really do. I would lick the inside of a toaster with you any time of the day.

I love this philosophical QQ about an object that doesn’t enrich your life in any way nor does it improve your gameplay. We had this back in original Guild Wars (Coke Items among other things, exclusive pre-order items etc.), yet no-one complained and yet one exclusive crappy miniature is released and everyone is being a child about not getting it. Well played, you create a fine image of gamers and humanity to me.
— Every heartbroken Guild Wars fan on GW2
I think this was exactly the idea behind it. In the recent interview, the devs told exaclty that: they looked back to GW1 and wanted to please those long time fans (like me btw :-)).
Read: use nostalgia once again to get more GW1 players fooled into buying their game because they “care” about established lore. They, don’t and neither should you.

You don’t win friends with salad!

I won’t be jumping the wagon as all of the features in this ‘expansion’ should have been in the game since day one. A new race might have made me slightly consider getting this, now I that have no race to pin the Revenant on and playing two of same race goes against my principals. You people have fun, I won’t be anything new you don’t already have in GW2.

Someone has neither been in love not has any clue what devotion feels like.
Indeed ans that person is you, good naiasonod. You have no understanding that some individuals perceive love and devotions differently than you and gnawing on Imbune’s opinions while comparing to society’s mediocre standards is pretty low.
My opinion is that the finale was uninspired. Some revelations were conjured on the spot, made no sense, contradicted themselves with existing lore and/or came too little, too late. Perhaps this is a marketing ploy for the further expansion? Most probably. For me, the entire season 2 was a downward spiral of declining quality with little to no redemption along the way.
— Every heartbroken Guild Wars fan on GW2
There will be no expansion because the game functions really well without it. The devs are happy, the fans are not BUT the devs are happy. You will not be getting an expansion untill their superiors say that they need to make an expansion.

wake up slap
1) No MMO offers you any choice, it’s an illussion of choice you are getting.
2) “What is this game becoming?” Only now you are noticing this?! GW2 has been tumbling downhill ever since they introduced Scarlet Briar related content into the game.

Gw2 won from WoD? That alone shows how unknown 10k Hammer is. If that award had any significance, the dedicated Azerothians would tots rock that vote.

Nothing, to be honest. The game is dead to me, for over two years now. The only things I see are people wailing garbage upon its once respected resting place and cult zealots having gathering there.
— Every heartbroken Guild Wars fan on GW2
Amazing, had you not rushed getting to 304%, you would not be asking this in the first place.
— Every heartbroken Guild Wars fan on GW2
Maybe when they decide to live up to that title. WoW gets my vote here, thanks for the voting reminder!

A-net decided to go where the money is, the casual gamer. Why do more effort and get us whiny veterans complaining when there are people who don’t give two hoots for story and immersion etc? You don’t pay a montly fee, this is what you get.
— Every heartbroken Guild Wars fan on GW2
Good graphics, bad everything else.
That about sums it up.
— Every heartbroken Guild Wars fan on GW2
I love these hollow debates about obvious topics that need no answer. Are BL boxes gambling? Yes, pretty much, regardless if you’ve spent real money or ingame money, both costed someone effort to get. OH EM GEE, it is illegal! If it was, Anet would not be doing it. In the end, you are the only one responsible for (not) getting a useless digital item that won’t advance your life any further in any sort of way.

Grinding achievements you have no hold on (Mad Court Victory during Halloween) to progress the story. This was my final nail in the coffin back in October 2013, I dumped this game never to return again. Looks like I was right on my money, GW2 has been doing downhill ever since.

By the Five, I love Charleston Chew.1209’s clever responses so much! The way he retaliates with his salty, zealous fanboyism to anything that remotely threatens his GW2 is priceless. I hope you and your likeminded peers continue to play this game for years to come, you deserve it.

I don’t find it weird at all, the only level requierement you don’t have is to use the Gem Store.

Hello everyone,
I am a huge fan of the artwork behind the Guild Wars franchise from concepts to actual ingame pictures. The skill icons for the original game were published in quite the high definition on the official wiki so I managed to get those. The skill icons for GW2 don’t seem to me available in high res pass the 128×128 px format with a giant black border around them on the GW2 wiki. Searching the internet high and low didn’t produce any positive results either. I think that great artwork deserves to be seen in its full glory.
Is there’s any way that someone knows a way to acquite these, or perhaps I did overlook some website somewhere, feel free to either respond to this topic or drop me a PM.

Question: Why has Rytlock failed?
Answer: Because the plot said so.
It’s really a no brainer.
— Every heartbroken Guild Wars fan on GW2
> What problem? Those are optional, you dont have to do it.
Ironic as you are grinding the moment you start playing any MMO, if you notice that or not is another matter.
— Every heartbroken Guild Wars fan on GW2
Achievements too easy: people complain.
Achievements too hard: people complain.
No achievements: people complain.
See where this is going?

What does this have to do with the living world again? Also, there will be no CE dances, been said previously on multiple occasions.

@ OP
How many people actually revisit random events on random maps? Not many. Had Bria’s event been fixed since launch, you would forget about it and not be sour about it like you are now. They revitalised a few dead events so that people can do them more often (well at least untill Ch4 rolls out), that is what you get from a biweekly free event. Should you feel insulted by this, I don’t think so.
— Every heartbroken Guild Wars fan on GW2
People actually still think we need mounts in this game?! You know this is not WoW, because that game doesn’t have a convenient waypoint system that this game has. You don’t need mounts, please let that stupid argument die already.
— Every heartbroken Guild Wars fan on GW2
So, if we have
Fiery Dragon SwordSohothin, can we make a rift and jump in to help Rytlock?
We have a FDS, not THE FDS.
— Every heartbroken Guild Wars fan on GW2
Well at least she is not a mad Ascalonian ghost, amirite?
— Every heartbroken Guild Wars fan on GW2
With all the complaining going on, remember this is a biweekly free release you get for free. What else did you expect, new event lines with deep enriched story on a biweekly basis? Yall need to get off the clouds and back to the solid ground.
