Guild Wars 2

Golems now are basically just a skeleton key into your keep when utilized by a zerg. Omega moreso than alpha. Arrow carts do almost nothing to them(arrow cart conditions do not even apply to golems either) and there’s no realistic siege cap for them on a gate, unlike rams.

Before the massive golem influx, a force of 20-30 players with plenty of defensive siege could realistically hold off a full map team of 60-80 or at very least delay them for quite awhile until players can get free from other maps to help out. Now with the constant omega golem rushes? There’s no way the 20-30 players can take them out or even slow them down unless the 60-80 players are completely braindead and just let you kill them. The golems have too much health and damage reduction, and the more golems there are, the more effective they are.

To be fair they are running guild only, which is 100x more than anyone could say about any BG guilds quite frankly.

I have to say, after reviewing the compression from the bay fight, FEAR and TW went down a notch in my view of them. Bad form on those players from those guilds using ACs and having them shooting in places where they ought not to be able to.

i hear the new guilds are PST. When i play at around 8-9 PST there usually is a queue in 2-3 maps. Only sometimes all 4 are queued.

yeah but how many slots are left in the unqueued maps. if you have a 20 man guild and there’s 5 slots, woo. can’t even get everyone in.

neither bg nor sor need NA guilds at all. dunno why jq guilds would move to either in that timeslot.

yeah but the point is that trying to compare the number of guilds doesn’t really give much information. tbh i could swear like at least 3 of those BG guilds are all the same people and another 2 are basically completely inactive. or i could add my guild of 2 active players to the list and say “HAH! BG outnumbers you!”

comparing a number of guilds is a pretty bad way to list them when i’m pretty sure some of those on both sides probably have less than 5 players on every night

While I’m in favor of aoe not being capped, just imagine what retaliation would do to you though. If I was to grenade a gigantic zerg of 50 players, one grenade barrage could be doing anywhere up to 400 hits. Now let’s say we’re in a perfect world and 1) this doesn’t break my computer and 2) GW2 servers can actually handle this. I would instantly drop dead to retaliation anyway.

It doesn’t matter if you remove the aoe cap right now, because due to retaliation’s mechanics, the bigger zerg gets a ridiculous amount of free damage that is completely unavoidable if you plan on actually killing them.

Today when I was ripping apart yet another map zerg over a wall with an arrow cart, it was eyefinity.

Despite the nonstop barrage of hate and “reported” tells from FEAR, it was eyefinity.

K. I’ll start doing whatever I want, and when questioned it’s just my 17 monitors allowing me to do it.

The funny part is that if you have someone on your team doing it back to them, FEAR whines to them in tells with their entire guild and yells “REPORTED!!!!”. They’re well known in this tier for being yet another underperforming SoR zerg guild but they make up for it with numbers and their ability to fire arrow carts over any structure. Just accept that they’ll do it in any engagement and blow up any arrow carts they build asap.

why would they leave? smaller highly skilled groups are the meta in EU, and iron was tired of getting farmed there, much like their hilarious gvg against red guard. that’s why they came in NA in the first place, where map zerging actually can work since it’s all they can figure out.

no wonder iron likes being on NA so much, when they actually have to fight against players it doesn’t seem to go over very well. i think i saw an RG player almost get downed once though. edge of the seat matchup right there.

We were missing a couple of our melee but it wasn’t excuse worthy. From fighting them, they really aren’t doing anything much different than us… they just did it better. Simply put, we got out played.

Like I said, if its a 50% guardian zerg built around it, they deserve it. But the power there really comes from stability + super tanks. If you want argue certain specialized zerg compositions are overpowered, that’s a different topic.

For everything else it’s just not a big factor. Already nerfed, doesn’t need another.

Unfortunately shortcake, that does not work at all in zerg to zerg combat. You HAVE to AoE the enemies to take them out ASAP in order to avoid being overwhelmed. You need to L2P yourself if you didn’t remember that or didn’t figure that out.

I found that the easiest way to deal with retaliation, as an engineer, is to stop playing guild wars 2. Haven’t had a problem since. After months of frustrating retaliation experience, I couldn’t believe the solution was that easy!

if anyone actually listened to the less than intelligent posters in this thread, every zerg fight would consist of two zergs running at each other, hitting tab until a target without retaliation popped up, and then trying to single target that person down.

i got an arrow cart blueprint, which is the precursor for a superior arrow cart blueprint
