They choose to ignore the part of the community that actually understands the game. development is clearly not understading anything bout Balance.
Looks to me like GW1. The lack of the trinity is also the reason why deathmatch in this game will fail, due to no active healing/protting.
do yourself a favor and change to the PvE-side of this game. It’s got much more love, is more rewarding and is interesting / not everytime the same.
Otherwise I’d suggest to make a break till 2014, when mabye GW2 PvP reaches the beta-state.
Particle is only a problem if you play HJ all day long. And ofc on that Zerg victims 8vs8 servers.
Why should anybody QQ about HJ?Tbh i can´t see the problem in rated matches. They are far away from “too much partivles and lags because of it”. And if they´re not, just scroll down the graphics.
No serious reason to complain about. GW2 has more important problems then ppl crying about lags in HJ.
Disagree here. This issue has nothing to do with HJ. It’s a big part of tournaments either. In a teamfight so many animations are happening that dedicated dodging is not possible due to an animation-cluster. Also for shoutcasters it’s really hard to say what is actually going on. Watch a match and you will see how many things the shoutcaster can’t catch due to a mess of animations. It’s also not really enjoyable for the spectator itself.
It’s not OP, just very easy to play.
Every player with a little intelligence had already known from the first day, that Hotjoin will be the cancer of PvP.
It created a big mass of people having no idea about the concept of conquest. It created a zergfest, a brainless grind. It created skyhammer farmer (the reason why people instantly call you a skyhammer-farmer if you have a rank above 50). You took away an indicator of effort and skill with hotjoin. Rank is meaningless, due to the fact hotjoin exist.
One of the worst decisions you guys made in PvP.
Warrior does not need fixing. Other classes need fixing. They need a lot of cheese removed.

The main problem is the strenght of ranged AoE-dmg, which makes the risk-reward-ratio of being a melee nearly unbearable. This means the warrior can have endless condition-cleanse, but this won’t negate the fact, that he has to walk through all the AoE to get into 130 range. Besides that nearly every class has escape mechanics or CC’s, which makes it really difficult to stay in range.
Buffing the warrior won’t solve the issue / flaw of the design of other classes.
My teammates (Germans) had this problem about one or two weeks ago. I (Swiss) have this issue for 3 days now. I tested my internet connection several times (UP: 12 mbit/s, DL: 50 mbit/s). So there must be a problem with the servers of A-Net.

Or maybe pve players don’t give a kitten about pvp just like most pure pvp players don’t give a kitten about pve.
Many good PvP players changed from PvP to PvE, because PvE was actually…funny and rewarding.
How about a new development?
Skyhammer is a desaster for SoloQ. I don’t know who created such a Map with PvP and Competition in mind. I would change my Job-Role and join the WvW or PvE Development.
Yumpi should definitely teach some eles how to use it properly.
Skyhammer is just the tip of all the things that are wrong in this game.
Hotjoin should and can stay. It’s good for casuals or fun-play. But it shouldn’t be rewarded more than competitive play. There should be a point-limit per match (300 is too high). This is just generating Zerg-farming and favors grinding more than strategical play. I hope you can agree with me on this.
hmmm i do agree that non tournament casual 8 vs 8 sPvP should not have the potential to generate more rewards (glory, rank points) than tournament play.
instead of reducing, capping rewards (glory, rank points) in casual non tournament sPvP, what about increasing rewards in tournament?
Increasing rewards on tpvp follows the same model as I had in my mind. So yes, that can be possible also.
If you’re goal is to play a full-bunker then the following weapon-sets are pretty good:
sword-shield, mace-focus.

When I read some of these answers I have the feeling I play a different game. Such as “if you take AoE-Dmg it’s your own fault”. Are you even know how conquest works or are you just hotjoining allday where staying on a node doesn’t matter at all?
There are a few topics about the same problem. Smn mentioned recently to introduce legendary weapons for pvp, which could be bought by glory. Let’s say you make 500.000 for a legendary weapon. You have a goal where you can spend your glory to. For e.g. from Rank 50 to Rank 60 you will make 825.000 Rank-Points. With glory boosters it would be about 1.200.000. So you can buy 2 legendary weapons (or whatever you want) with it. So there’s the sense of farming the tons of glory you have to, for emote-up
If A-Net keeps listening to players like you, balance will never achieve a acceptable level . . .
It’s more that the concept of AoE is restricting the viability of the warrior, rather than the options of the class itself. Because Warrior in general is a well-doing class. PvE and WvW shows that the effectiveness is given (yep I should be burried for mentioning PvE in this forum).
The engage and retreat mechanic is in a bad place. Warriors rely so heavy on gap-closers, still there is no option to be immune to slowing conditions as cripple or chill while using them. Also he has to run to the target, without any defensive mechanic another class would bring (invis, ports, blurred-frenzy….).
I don’t know either why the devs never create a topic on these things, like:
“We are working on a leaderboard at the moment, blablabla, what do you wish/expect from it? which tools you want to be in there (player-search, sort-options etc.)?
If they would do this, they’d had a concentrated suggestion-poll on specific subjects. I think this would be much easier to create lack-free content. And all the information on one topic and not spread on severals.
Till they would release such an amazing feature, there won’t be any teams left by then.

You don’t have to be top 100 to realize something’s off, apart from balance problems spvp gets boring fast, point fighting just brings too many bunker builds.
From a viewer pov, which I have had to experience in last two weeks, I can say this much: This game is boring as hell to watch, there is absolutely no moments in game where you hold your breath and experience excitment, only moments I actually found mildly interesting were on Legacy of the Foefire map where killing a lord is such moment in time that decides the game.
