[WvW] Why are you removing content?

what would you have them do then? have 7 wvw maps at one time, spreading out the already small wvw playerbase even thinner?
my respect for a-net has gone up significantly today. nice to see they’re taking old suggestions to heart
I agree with OP. I want to wear light armor on my ranger.
we can already wear townclothes into battle (and certain tonics) so “they will wear light armor so they don’t look like a guardian” doesn’t apply.
clipping, granted, is an issues. but it’s already an issue. if anything, add a disclaimer whenever you try to skin light and medium that “this could cause serious clipping issues” or just restrict it so if you have 1 piece of X weight, you can only equip X weight and not Y or Z weights.
@astral as long as it’s just the skins, we already basically have it semi-integrated in the game in the form of cash shop items (glasses/hats) and being able to wear town clothes. it would take some work, but it could be done, and it’s widely requested so spending time to work on it wouldn’t draw complaints from me.
Why do people play any game on anything other than easy?
I find warriors extremely boring. IMHO they’re the worst class to me, because they’re the most boring to play, and why would I play a boring game.
also, even in dungeons, 5 warriors won’t be as effective as other combos. I don’t know the exact numbers because I don’t really tryhard in pve, but I’m sure some of the more experienced in dungeon running will shut that down.
along with that, in pvp/wvw, warriors are par at best. they’re easy to play, but that means that aside from a few really good warriors, the skill ceiling is lower over-all, meaning being skilled at other classes could potentially put you at a level above 90% of warriors.
tl;dr warriors are boring and overused, which makes them easy kills a majority of the time
I’d rather them not touch WvW at all than make changes that could possibly screw it up.
If they’re going to change something, they should take their time and do it right.
Honestly, if I didn’t enjoy the game/map/fights as-is I would have stopped playing a long time ago
I’m not exactly a veteran, but this is how i’d recommend it, being someone who’s almost done with their legendary (about 300g from my precursor which is the last piece)
precursor first, if you can handle it
world completion
mystic clovers
T6/Ectos or your Gift of Incinerator
Gift or T6/Ectos
by that point you should be in excess of all the karma/badges/skillpoints/etc. that you need
The hidden alcove in the grove that you posted, and the top room in the windmill at queensdale (mostly because of the cat)
Well, we killed Zhaitan with popcorn… soooo….
Not a suspension of disbelief but the fact they just look dumb. Imagine our brown bear model doing the fire wyvern F2
I want this. Anet pls.
I’m ok with everything but the last bit of the op, AS LONG as it allows them to produce more and/or better content than they did before
as for the last part, no. I don’t feel like buying something just to have a chance at winning in wvw, it’s practically (or literally) p2w, which generally makes me die off a game really quickly (and that’s coming from someone who has put in over $100 in gw2 because I’ve enjoyed some of the content they’ve produced)
and @some other people
just because it’s technically free to get gems doesn’t mean people don’t have a right to complain. If it takes me 100 hours to get something that someone else can get by paying $10, I’m going to consider that pretty dumb on the companies part.
going along with bunnikk, most of my characters are variants of feyris because I’m a huge fan of maids and nekomimis. I would honestly pay 500-1000 gems for cat ears
do u criticize batman story bcs u knew his parents only 20 seconds ?
when marjory turns into batman, adopts a deep voice, and fights “FOR JUSTICE.” I will be happy.
mounts only for asurans, called charrs. specifically other characters charrs. and there’s no request either, an asuran can always jump on other charrs backs.
I doubt I’d really use it, but I don’t see why I would be against it
perhaps have it an option in the settings? (e.g. [] recieve confirmation for large sales)
As others have pointed out, AP means NOTHING except maybe how long you’ve played the game (which has NOTHING to do with your skill level, or knowledge of the game). I have nearly 6k AP and i literally just started running dungeons (aside from doing TA a few times for my legendary)
Why don’t you just, I don’t know, say “anyone new to the dungeon” before you start? I run with people with <1K ap all the time and do perfectly fine because I always explain each part of the dungeon before-hand
I really like it honestly! though it’d be super awesome if I could keep that, eagle eye, and piercing arrows :s I think i’d prefer if it were on the skirmishing tree.
I agree. the helm/mask is the first head-armor I was considering using, and those gloves are nice too. I really dislike the pants though.
I think it probably has something to do with it clipping (the poofy pants especially) that made them make it an outfit. it’s not really an excuse though..
the lack of gear treadmill is DEFINITELY a thing I love about this game. Probably in my top 3 most liked changes from this game compared to a traditional mmo

I’m a fan of the lack of regen. attrition is fun
While I do admit the league system needs a TON of work, points 1-3 are not always valid. I almost solely soloQ’d to diamond on a custom made druid build, for example (only ~2 tiers of ruby and 1 tier of sapphire was obtained via 3-4 man groups)
Honestly… I don’t think the tanking is the problem (except maybe in the case of mesmer (cough yes still cough)), but that the bunkers aren’t 100% bunker, and most dps aren’t 100% dps. there’s just an insane amount of support and CC going around that unless you’re a glassy class, you’re just not going to feel pressure. Just take a look at warrior/thief. their damage is in a good place, but they don’t have much else going for them, so they’re getting left behind in the dust (and no, i’m not saying you CANT run a thief/warrior effectively.)
Fix/Improve pets a lot, or an alternative to pets. Currently having ~30% of our dps assigned to a mandatory pet AI is just… not a good idea. especially with how bad the AI is.
Moving our primary damage away from just autoattacks (on certain weapons cough).
more utility/support options so we’re more viable in a team setting, and do more than spam autoattacks and selfish utilities and skills.
something that… defines our class better. the current problem is that in any situation, while a ranger can perform okay in most of them, another class simply performs better. If there were something useful to a team, that rangers were the best at, that would help.
this is coming from a wvw/pvp perspective. i’ve always been too lazy to actually try in pve ;P
Granted, in my opinion, this far into the game… no matter what changes are given to rangers, I think they’ll always be seen with a negative stigma. either the class is horrible, or the people playing the class is horrible, in some peoples eyes.

Then they should make the stealth instant
agreed 100%
personally I think it’d be cool to give it a second move once stealthed (like a thief #1) not sure what i’d like to be there, but it would give more strategy to the fight, imo
yespls
it’s going to be especially painful to get the recipes when dry top is no longer the “in” place to be. hopefully they have something planned to make those more obtainable later on
if you don’t know where to get them… there’s a wiki. use it.
if you’re asking people which source they got from out of curiosity, I got all mine from the temple of balthazar.
Special stuff to people who just buy gems, sure, statistical advantages, no. I don’t think I have to go through all the reasoning behind people being against P2W.
If they need the money, make the game subscription based. sure I don’t like subscription based (edit: and I probably wouldn’t be able to play the game any longer, what with my lack of income), but it’s still reasonable if they need money. there’s no excuse for making a game P2W, in my opinion.

I sorta told people that as soon as ranger started working properly, and competing on equal grounds, that people would say it’s OP :P
This may be the start, perhaps?
maybe.. maybe not. we’ll have to wait and see
is it really that big of a deal though? right now I can complete LA in about 5-10 minutes..
I don’t really understand why people who are in support of guild halls are not in support of player housing… maybe i’m missing something about it but they just seem like player housing for multiple people?
I’m extremely in support of player housing. As cosmetic as guild wars 2 endgame is, it also makes a lot of sense to add it to the game, in my opinion (a cosmetic addition to your character that has little to no effect, mechanically). I was excited at pax south when they announced guild halls, because i was hoping for player housing as well. I suppose i’m a minority, but I don’t enjoy guilds in MMO’s, so aside from wasting hundreds of gold on my personal guild to make a guild hall and call it my house, I’m completely missing out and it saddens me.

can’t have all the hardcore people hogging this topic ;P
Personally, I don’t see a huge problem with it. condi builds generally have access to boonstrips, and even in cases that they don’t, i doubt resistance will be something you can stack for longer than 5 seconds realistically (10 at the most)
I’m not complaining ’cause they introduced a new form of mobile reflect, as a LB user…
p.s. before you complain about it being op and quitting the game, maybe you should wait until they say something more than “it’s a thing that blocks boons!”… and if you do live, dibs on your stuff ;P
Mhm, definitely lag. when my internet is bad, sometimes I’ll down far away from people stomping. e.g. on Forest of Niflhel, I’ll down halfway down the stairs on mid, and see people all the way at the mid point trying to stomp me.
There may be a way to purposely recreate it, but I feel for the most part, it’s just people with bad connections
I got around 30 globs of goop and like 2 blues, I think I came out on top
the problem isn’t necessarily that it’s bad (excusing pve content because I rarely do pve), but that it’s not the best, and there are a lot of tryhards looking to minmax.
at least that’s what I’ve felt, being someone who has played a lb since I started
No fps drop pls.
fog dropoffs are actually a widely used technique to increase fps.
I’d like more special events in wvw. even something like planetside, where events come out “capture and hold stonemist” “capture a majority of X borderland” and whichever team completes it by the end of the timer gets some bonus PPT or even just rewards (on the level of queens jubilee perhaps. bronze for 3rd, silver for 2nd, gold for 1st)
I hope it gets added as well.
I bought an entire set of unsavalgable, unsellable, wvw gear that ended up being the wrong stats
I want to feel that I’ve “completed” a game within 50-80 hours(not 100% it. just completing it. in gw2 terms it would be reaching 80 and getting a full set of exotics, for me). and yes, I realize that’s not typical for mmos, but it’s still what I’d prefer.
50-80 hours to 80 and full set of exotics??? and yet here I am, 120 hours, level 70.
it just depends on what gamemode you play I ’spose. it took me about 40 hours to reach 80, and since levels 40 through 80 were done via wvw, i already had the currency for exotic gear
and i’m not saying you’re wrong because it’s an opinion. subjective things are never wrong in my eyes. I can state that I dislike your viewpoint (i would be frustrated if gw2 had these changes made) but i wouldn’t say you’re wrong :P
Oh, so your f2 works every time?
Your Ranger pet turns the wrong way to “hit” an opponent?
Your downed skills knock a player down when you are downed?
-if they aren’t interrupted, blinded, and are near my target (or i detarget and hit f3→f2) yup
- for the most part, the only pet hit i care about (my wolves initial knockdown) hits near-everytime
-ranger downed skills don’t knock down, they stun. and if I’m not blinded and they don’t have stability, then yes.
try casting entangle in your spawn area, without pressing any other buttons. if it shows the animation (you jumping up then smashing the ground) then it works and it not casting was a player error on your part. either blind, they had immunity, you moved in the middle of casting, you swapped weapons (it might interrupt it, I forget) you tried casting another spell, etc. etc.
I have nearly 1k hours in wvw on my ranger and I can count the amount of times my elites have bugged out on my fingertip. underpowered? maybe. bugged? no chance.
Matchups already rotate colors based on the predicted winners/losers
1st – 2nd – 3rd
green – blue – red
OT: I’m ok with this. It’d be neat to have 1 hour “endgame” after a matchup on friday in which you can, and other servers are also on the map and you can talk to eachother as well (congratulating/flaming/finding that one roamer that keeps beating you to rage at) and then an hour “pre-game” like this where you can wish good – or bad – fortune on your enemies.
all the while, allowing pve’ers their mapping so they don’t need to zerg.
i’m not sure if it’s a bug or if you just cast it that direction and completely miss.
regardless I would like to see some longbow skills (#3 especially) hitting more reliably, especially close up
As a general rule, never trust anything RNG in GW2 :P
But, if you have the money, you can just outright buy the skins off of the tp. They’re pricy, but they’re cheap enough that if you really want that skin it’s not out of the question
I hope they actually do something with this. it’s thing like these that are really minor but strange that give the story an ominous feel that I really enjoy
Signet of the Beastmaster is far from a requirement, and piercing arrows is only really useful in large group situations.
I do agree that spreading out the useful traits may be a good idea, though. I just put meh traits into most of my ws tree (aside from barkskin) because there isn’t much in there I want
I would much rather have a freed up grandmaster trait slot, than a 5% damage increase.
just tested, seems to be a water field. hope it stays this way
I really like the aegis on my guardian. it gives my guardian a unique quirk to set it apart from the other professions.
I would be okay with it being an option though.
Personally, I really enjoyed caithe and the dude from the green knight story of the sylvari personal story, partially because of the fact that they are gay. and as I said, I’m bisexual AND dislike them.
“you’re a homophobe” is a dumb counter-argument. as far as I’ve seen, no one has said “I dislike them because they’re gay” whilst many have said that they’re ok with them being gay.
you can call them insensitive people who don’t understand that kind of romance, and I would be somewhat ok with that. because a majority of us dislike them because of the cheesy romance aspect.
tl;dr stop saying it has to do with them being gay. it has nothing to do with it.
I think it got bugged at the same time things like shadowstep were changed. it’s happened to me as well, but usually when i’m in odd places like on a hillside.
