Henge of Denravi Server

That is saying that your sword, bow or fire magic can destroy a iron gate if you hit enough, well, ok.
disagree.
world relinking while can punish bandwagoners, it also punish other innocent players and guilds. is a complicated issue. i personally think that consistently relinking without resolving the fundamental logic flaws with server status and underestimating the undesired effects of numerous servers will bring more harms than good in the long run
the idea is good
it is simple and easy to understand, maintain the importance of dolyak
it also inline with how silverwaste tower get upgraded, a dolyak need to reach there otherwise the bar wont fill. theres consistency in the overview of the game
erm…….i not sure i understand your question
yea, they should unlink t1 so people cant move there via guest server
t1 should be locked by themselves and give other servers chance to grow
This isn’t a solution but rather, deceiving oneself that the match is balanced which in reality, it will never be balanced, life is never fair.
This approach also delay servers in other tiers that might have superior coverage from climbing up the tier. So, the off hours population in those servers ended up have to ktrain longer periods just to climb up the tiers.
If the context of this approach is T1, then it will never be applicable to all tiers.
I don’t see how this would have any impact on a server being able to climb up or fall down a tier. War score itself has nothing really to do with glicko. Glicko is all based on how much you win or loose relative to the other servers in your current match. So, if a group of servers had 24/7 coverage, and the final match was 300,000 / 150,000 / 150,000, the glicko change would be equal if the same group of servers had half the population and a final score of 150,000 / 75,000 / 75,000.
Yes, this system does reward lower population servers slightly by not changing the non-structure points (that’s kinda the point), but if your server is overpopulating the other two buy a great degree, this shouldn’t be an issue, as you are also killing yaks, flipping sentries and getting stomps.
You have no idea what you are suggesting and how glicko works. Really.
HOT release with those blings blings already impact the minimum specs of the game. Furthermore, they already have an aoe decoration limit to prevent excessive number of decos in one spot. Anet need to consider a realistic global cap along with the aoe decoration limit that can go along the size of a guild hall.
Sooooo many games coming out later this year….
A lot more people gonna quit within this year, gw2 gonna become less populated compare to now later this year. Gw2 main selling point currently is b2p but couple of b2p MMOs too are releasing this year
Gw2 had so much potential, really much potential but I am not sure what happened, I guess the guy in charge of gw2 gotten too ahead of himself?
I’m too looking forward to all the wonderful titles coming out this year, this is a amazing year with DX12.

After a month…
I thought it was intended because borderland…most people stays in ebg thus respond time faster.
EOTM is primarily made for people that are waiting in queue for WvW so it is working as intended if EOTM is empty when there are no queue in wvw.
Now I can jump off smc to save myself and scares the kitten off the duelers.
I’ve been on CD for maybe a year now through all types of fluctuations and i stay because i love it. It’s home. both my self and my guild even if we are small have poured our hearts into CD. Tonight a blanket statement was made by someone i respect that’s a major voice on CD even if that respect only goes in one direction. That if you don’t use TS than your not an asset because you aren’t really helping. I’m sure a lot of people feel that way. I know its a big help in wvw. But it was really the first time in a year i felt like wow kitten my server.
Even if we were roamers which we aren’t we are a small ops guild of seasoned vets that responds to all major calls from tags and larger guilds for aid. I feel like that’s a pretty big kitten you to people that put in time and effort but don’t use TS. I guess i just needed to vent because if I didn’t i was gonna seethe about it until i moved my entire guild to a new server.
I don’t see why roamers not in the squad or following the tag need to be in ts3. Did you misunderstood the meanings or did you read it partially like missing the lines above the other lines or cross chat/ts3 topic? If you didn’t then yes, you should openly put down the commander.
And I would point out that not one person has yet to argue that this gamemode is balanced nor competitive in its current state.
You need to let this go. WvW was never meant to be balanced. The devs themselves have said this many times over the past four years.
I think what you think I mean by balanced is not what I mean by balance. I do NOT mean by balance: equal numbers on each side, as in soccer, football, baseball, etc.
Balanced, as far as I am concerned, is a multi-faceted measure. It is the summation of many factors, population being among them, that create fair and competitive fights.
So, ‘balance’ is not just population.
But, I can understand how you might think this is all that I mean, as currently the massive disparities in population and coverage, which we have been discussing here, show clearly that this gamemode is neither balanced nor competitive in its current state.
That’s all on the players though. Asking Anet to parent when it’s within their power to remedy is like herding cats.
Until the players, guilds, get their act together, no amount of blowing up and rebuilding will fix the issue.
That said, with the dev response, this thread should die lol. It’s academic at this point.
Academic is important, only when people are more informed of the issues then they will understand the limited amount of solutions and be supportive of any solutions that can be implemented to solve the issues. So far, there are more don’t-read than read, so, it is really hard.
Then again, you are also right, devs already explicitly state that we will always fall short in our perspectives due to limited access to the data thus all is pointless.
i dont really think anyone cares….
i mean, do you actually see newbie ask you question because you are veteran or just because you happen to there?
So now that they have upped the amount of pips we all get, and they upped the weekly ticket cap to almost double the previous cap (which might I add was an excellent decision) where are all the people who were vehemently opposed to any changes to the pips and/or ticket changes?
I don’t see how this change, which was proposed awhile back, and was vehemently opposed by so many was such a bad idea? I don’t see anyone complaining about it now, and I don’t understand why so many were so resistant to this change which really helped a lot of people out, and made getting rewards in wvw more realistic.
I only remember people complaining mostly about people who are demanding the rank requirement for T3 to be reduced, because that armor is a prestige. As for pips, wvwers generally don’t care since it just rewards and rewards isn’t why wvwers play wvw.
I also find it hard to comprehend why casuals care so much about rewards in a casual game where gear grind isn’t a thing at all. That behavior strike me as more materialistic than any gear grind games’ community.
(edited by SkyShroud.2865)
If you mean removing T3 gate, I can try to relate. But if you mean removing T3 walls, I can’t relate since it has been like this for 3 years, 4 years soon.
conversation? doubt so, very unlikely
1) The problem is, because we do not know how gw2 is programmed, it might be difficult to bring back the old maps without causing any major bugs. The dev team also less incline to do so as they are focusing on the so-called WvW overhaul. Though I know a couple of people not wanting to go that map because of low FPS.
3) Making yet another brand new map means need more resources which again the dev team might not have that much resources to do so. If they did, it wouldn’t take them so long to develop and wvw full changes would otherwise be included in the expansion. I rather them focus on features changes as priority.
regardless, anet focus is now on that so-called wvw overhaul which i assume will be within 6 months? however, within that 6 months, many games are coming out and likely gw2 will lose more players to those games.
1) There is no programming issue bringing Alpine back, they just have their agenda out of order that it will fail rather than have the results they are looking for.
2) They are already working on another map.
3)No, I am not going to tell you how I know this.
They need to get it right this time, and by bringing alpine back first and now, it will go much smoother.
if u unable to say how u know this then there is no credibility in it
I believe strongly that servers need to be unlinked. All buy four servers are marked at “high” “Very High” or full. 11 servers are marked as full. Crystal Desert before linkings was marked as “medium” it is now marked as very high. The server linking increased populations by far.
However now it is just pushing people away. Tier 2 with these linkings is just a blob fest. It was the same thing as last linking. Very blobby. The linked servers have enough population to make a populated tier again. It wont be as empty if at all. My last 3 linked servers alone could manage a tier for themselves.
After reading a lot of these posts it seems people do wish for unlinked. And Some do not.
1. Linking doesn’t increase host population since population is calculated independently, unless you mean servers took a lot of players from other servers?
2. Populations is calculated by play hours, not only by actual players. This particular change is primarly due to huge casual players (particularly in JQ). Technically, the primary flaw in this is that there will be servers that will have crazily big population at certain timing while completely empty at certain timing. Not to forget we also have something called returning players, thus servers that are housing huge amount of accounts may suddenly become a powerhouse out of the blue, this is another one of the flaws the current system has.
3. Many servers can’t fight for themselves. They do not have the guild numbers and coverage to hold it all up. In other words, servers that happen to lack commanders or guilds in specific timing benefit from link with servers that happen to have commanders or guilds in that timing. Unlinking means you are giving up all those benefits and forcing servers to fight for themselves. Honestly speaking, if all are capable of fighting for themselves, that should already happen in the past and not now. We won’t have the link today.
Overall, those who call for unlink are not considerate enough to consider the possible damages it will bring.
You have yet to see what a real P2W game is really like. The P2W factor here is so insignficiant that it can be passed off as a joke but if you really that anal about the very insigificant bit of P2W so to prove your point that it is P2W, then so be it, you happy can already.
AOE is capped at 5 due to technical limitation, according to dev 4 years ago.
The one PVE game mode that changed that was raids. And I truly believe that, because of the loose development style I talk about above, they didn’t stop to think about how this kind of content model would change the game.
I realize a lot of people don’t see it – but I firmly believe that is because they approach the game differently than those who do. They base their in game friendships/guilds/etc on skill at the game and a willingness to sacrifice form for function – and that is fine. For those people, raids are a good fit.
It isnt, however, how many formed their guilds/communities in the first years of the game. For us, raids represent a break from the core purpose of the game in PVE – to offer a fun place for us all to play together. And while some can argue that the rest of the game hasnt changed, I think that argument is shortsighted – raids in their current form have had a real impact on how many approach the game – through the “stepford wife” syndrome created by meta gameplay, a feeling of being left out of part of the story/experience/etc, through false airs of superiority emerging across both game chat and various forums, and so on.
That is the identity I feel has changed. And, while that is a personal definition of the term, I think it is one many share with me.
For us, the game is changing in a very negative way – but one that they could rectify very easily. How we identify (and identify with) the game is changing – and not for the better.
I think I understand what you are saying.
Raid is inherently exclusive and not inclusive. Raid doesn’t sit well with guilds that focus on community as community consist of everybody regardless good or bad that is why we have raid guilds. Raid and community just don’t go well with one another.
gratz for being the top bandwagoned destination
This is a really amazing change but I think the raiders gonna be so mad at it.
In before the complains.
sorry, if it can be done, it is already done. obviously, the programming to do so did not exist and making it will further delay the wvw overhaul.
many people are simply betting on that wvw overhaul, if it isnt satisfactory, goodbye wvw. it can be considered the last straw for many.
furthermore, a lot of things were already suggested or warned by players at least 2 years ago but either promptly ignored or players at that time do not agree with it as they don’t see the consequences of it until 2 years later.

The home node can give 5 regular on one strike and it sometimes gives a charged quartz as well.
One strike, you mean hitting it 3 times? Maybe I shouldn’t use the word strike, ermm…
And yea, it sometimes give a charge quartz but that will not ease the demand for quartz crystal. The crystal will continue to climb in price because there is a lot of demands for it. Not just guild hall, you need it for celestial as well but of course, Guild Hall is the primary demand now and since is Guild Hall we are talking about here, it will need a lot of charge quartz.
Now charge quartz worth about 2.5g, won’t be surprise to see it worth 10g eventually.
Any updates on this month’s patch?
The OP point is……how people talk to each other and often, we all should know that many times it degrade to personal attacks or scurrilous attempts. Some comments that seems innocent at the beginning can easily become hostile the next moment base on how they choose to view it or the way to reply.
To start with, everyone has alter ego and often the common kind of personality shown over the net but some are just a bit too over. Honestly speaking, I encounter this kind of thing way more often in gw2 which supposedly a casual mmorpg than compared to hardcore pvp mmorpgs where we drop items or golds on death.
Hi, I have the same issue. I followed dulfy’s guide and have backtracked every single one while comparing to dulfy’s video to reconfirm the coin location.
I’m stuck at 29/30.
“play how i want” is different from “i want to get what i want as i please”
The problem is you are not fixing the population imbalance issue, just making it look like it is fixed on the scoring level. That is not gonna make people feel any better. It doesn’t feel good to be smashed by a blob twice your size everyday. It doesn’t feel great to know that your server is full thus unable to recruit more to handle that blob that smashes you everyday. The actual gameplay is much more important than the scoring itself.
you have my sympathy Sky…..
if your guild is not treated by your server very well that must be frustrating…..
i guess your guild doesn’t have a place to call home yeti remembered one quote on a final fantasy character
“If this world seeks my destruction… It goes with me…”
-Genesisheres the poem he recited, i hope that can help you make up your mind, its called loveless
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6BpXEBw66Y…i offer thee this silent sacrifice.
whether you are loved or not loved by your server, always take care of your guild, they are your ingame family
It is funny how you were complaining about trollish behavior on another post and yet here you are doing the same, it speaks volume.
Its def a performance and tech issue as seen by Gailes previous quote. Given the advice to people about how to cope on low spec PCs there is clearly limits on the cap.
It doesnt mean they wont ever up the cap, but it is clearly a difficult obstacle to overcome.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Guild-Hall-Decoration-Increase/first
That’s the point of aoe limit and honestly speaking, if it really start to lag bad, just leave that to the guild discretion and responsibility to balance it out.
The merger or world link to me is simply a quick band aid to solve the lack of population for sustain gameplay. it doesn’t solve the population imbalance issue.
in many mmos i have played, all mmo that go by the idea of setting “full” status via a very simple minded “max number” always fail to balance population. these mmo developers are mistaking that FPS, MOBA, RTS etc. servers or matchup of max players concept is applicable to a MMO context. however, reality is it is never applicable.
in fps server, we have forced balancing like what you see in spvp but you can’t apply force balancing to servers, people will QQ about it. thus, it is exactly because you can’t apply force balancing to servers, the only way to “force” balance is to control the intake.
however, the current flaw is that the intake is base on the “max players” concept which is only applicable to games that has forced balancing. anet need to get rid of that max players context by implementing a dynamic max players which analyze the highest and lowest server population’s disparity, then close off the highest server if that disparity grows. this will effectively prevent people from stacking on server while emptying the lowest server, this will also punish multiple guilds from the highest server in their attempt to stack on another top ranked server since the “highest” populated server is subjective.

Being someone who hasn’t raided previously in GW2, I’d like to get into it. But honestly the vibe I have gotten across the board has been that its pretty much out of the question unless you are lucky enough to find a “training” group. I looked in LFG and it was pretty much only wanting exp players.
Am I missing that much if I don’t get to experience raiding?
I thought someone posted a really good answer on this?
It isn’t raid itself that is unfriendly, many players are often unfriendly. Gw2 design attempt to hide or minimize this via the carebear approach and forced cooperation via shared rewards and social system but raids do not have any of those. Players will naturally choose the experienced to finish it asap, majority are not gonna be that kind to run or even help out in training raid. They can and will be mean. That is a harsh reality. That is human.
Best is to just find a guild that has a training raid in a timing where you can join.
If all the people complaining about other people in raids would team up, they could do the raids.
Yeah true. Although many players don’t want to be social enough to worry about things such as “starting a guild” or “recruiting like-minded players” or “getting to know players”.
Even though it is, ultimately, the whole reason this genre exists. If not for the social aspects, other games provide far better gameplay for each specific element GW2 has. Its upside is that it provides a lot of different gameplay elements (something for everyone, basically) in a social context.
But that diversity is what make the social in this game really questionable. It become a question of passerby vs acquaintance vs friend vs using-each-other.

Hi there,
I am/was a very dedicated player to this game previously, however i realized i really wanted/needed to get my partner into this game if i was to keep playing. However it did not manage to hold her interest, and while this is her personal experience, i think it does represent a group of casual/casual gamers that might have similar experiences that result in them falling short of getting into this game.
Pro’s
She liked the character customization.
She liked the various activities revolving around the ‘hearts’/events on the map.
She thought the monster/map variation was great.Cons…
In her own words, ’ the story was so boring, i didn’t feel any reason to lvl up to find out what happens next, and therefore i had no attachment.’— longer analysis: It’s hard to explain what makes a great storyline for the game, and i don’t doubt there are moments in gw2 where the story does become very interesting, but at the start it does seem a bit bland. Especially, say it’s over 3-4 days of lvling to reach the next story chapter because she has been busy with rl, she has suddenly forgotten all about the story.
Having said that, she did reach lvl 40, but by then i think the enjoyment she was getting out of doing the ‘heart’ events to lvl up was diminishing fast and becoming a bit tedious.
I know it’s hard for more dedicated players to imagine her position from a ‘blank state,’ but it does seem gw2 revolves around end-game content, and when we make alts we know in the long term the fun activities we will be using them for, but for new players like my gf she obviously cant get excited to grind through the bland beginning for end game content she has no experience of and therefore no excitement for.
Tl:DR – I guess the major issue is: what’s different from lvl 1-39 that grows the new player’s attachment from the game from lvl 40-79?
If this question had a great answer i think more players could be drawn to this game.
I never consider story as a very important part of the game, it is afterall a mmorpg. If people want story rich game, single player rpg is the best place to get those. You should explain to her that this is mmo and mmo is about the people you playing with, not about the story.
Also, comparing to all the mmos I have played, gw2 is casual. One can reach 80 easily within a week or two while hardcore players will reach it within a few days. One can get full ascended gears within two or three months while hardcore players will get it within a month. Exotic can be gotten easily within a week or two while hardcores will take a few days. If your gf can’t handle the leveling rate, I guess your gf is not suitable for a casual mmorpg. I guess she’s the FPS type of player that want to jump into actions immediately.

The “high” mark doesn’t adequately show the wvw population on the server, like others have said here, DB hybernated for a long time now and the players just didn’t play. That’s why they are considered tier 4 now and thus get the same amouth of links as the other tier 4 servers.
But yes, they have a large SEA-time crew including those guilds. HoD has a huge EU crew instead (especially when you play into EU-time), crushing everything for weeks now. Should we get no link because of that?
But of course it is possible that DB wakes up and we will lose, but imho it is still a fair and good fight, even if we lose. We will have good fights.
Nope, I have more faith in system indicator than human estimation, afterall, majority people can’t differentiate between 20ish from 30ish and so on. Also. HOD remains medium despite having larger EU, again, system status indicator. It is simple to say that HOD has a lot more regular wvwers and commanders on average than other T4 servers, keeping the server afloat despite lesser overall numbers.
Regardless, now we entering weekdays, DB is catching up in PPT, demonstrating their higher coverage aka higher overall populations. I was not wrong about DB links having much more, I am not wrong to find such linking logically absurd. I don’t have to see how it will go in weekdays because the logic is already that absurd.
You didn’t train nobody because you refused to work with anyone from sf. There’s only 5 English speaking guilds in sf and we can all confirm cd never even tried to talk to us. You’re not just bad commanders. Because now you’re lying to our faces.
And that’s saying a lot coming from the server of guilds that can’t even fight RED without booking it before killing them. Stay in your lane.Maybe you guys could actually achieve something if your server wasn’t so busy always talking trash on forums.
No worries, I have a few CDers that added me into their friend list. They blocked me the moment I whisper them for politely asking them to join HOD, in fact, only CD peeps ever blocked me for that. Really rude individuals, especially if you think about the fact that they are the one that added you into their friendlist. Totally reminds me why I get my guild to leave CD.

LOL. Really? QQing about warning? What about the new players who started without given even a single chance to get easy GOB? If do not want to spend that effort and time to get GOB, then don’t get legendary.
Equinox Solstice [TIME] is an semi-hardcore PvX guild formed on 18-February-2013, based in Crystal Desert that aims to foster interest in all aspect of the game (sPvP, WvWvW and PvE), seeking for players that are fun-loving, outgoing and self-motivated.
We are a international guild with players from all over the world, having significant 24 hours presence.
If you are interested in joining the guild, you can contact SkyShroud.2865 or you can visit our guild site for more info.
Alternatively, Crystal Desert has many guilds, you can join Crystal Desert server and check it out.
To me, endgame is meaningful repeatable activity.
hi [ZERO]
i have seen u guys spamming on my facebook gw2 fanpage xD
why not join CD and help us crash those higher tier server, wouldnt it be more fun to go through the progress of raising to the top while fighting the stronger ones than joining the strong ones?
overclocking is effective for amd but not so for intel, there isn’t a noticeable difference when u oc intel for gw2
If you have a CPU that meets recommended system requirements you should feel no change at all – intel or amd. If your AMD cpu shows a performance boost in GW2 when overclocking then either your cpu is slow to begin with or it’s too loaded by other programs.
The topic author is running a 4 core i5 at 3.7ghz (default clock). I’m surprised anyone even considers suggesting he actually overclocks or upgrades to improve GW2 performance….
Until recently I was running a somewhat old i7 2.4GHz and GW2 showed no significant performance difference when i switched to a 4.0ghz default clock (no change in settings and settings were in medium range – not the highest).
Anet did not provide any recommended system requirements thus what you say base on that doesn’t apply. Where did you come up with your own set of recommended requirements btw?
A benchmark test on guild wars 2 for processors have already been done during the launch and it clearly show that amd has significant performance gain when you OC it while intel do not have any gain worthy of note. The reason for that is simple, anyone who has basic understanding on the difference between intel and amd will be capable of telling you that intel has a higher single core performance than amd.

1. Just because it seems empty doesn’t means that JQ does not have a population, it can just means that JQ has population packed in certain hours or a casual population that packed on certain days of the week but not everyday, both of which still contribute to the overall activity of the server which then decide the server status. Furthermore, these data is gathered supposedly within a certain period of time and currently, halloween is out so it is very possible that all your players went to pve and thus it looks empty.
2. Anet already announced all servers cap is be back to default two months ago.
All in all, not trying to be rude but it seems like OP behaving like a child that misplaced his candy but thought his candy got stolen, so he trying to find faults with possible “suspects”.
My advise to you OP is….deal with it.

the problem with the balancing is that they dont do fine tuning and only large changes.
what they trying to do isn’t balancing but to disturb the meta, thats what colin wanted anyway, to SHAKE the meta
they can keep shaking the meta while shaking off the players.
Erm…
For starter, you have to fight for what you stand for, otherwise you stand for nothing.
Basically, if you consider your topic or post wrongly deleted, try sending mail to the mod team and reason it out.
It gets boring to steam roll people over and over again due to populations difference.
It is more engaging to feel the frustration and rage of the loses at similar populations.
Decide your choice well.
Ah, I can see your idea of tanking now, I would call those fairweathers instead of tanking. Fairweathers to me fall under natural phenomena
Here are the worlds for NA:
• Dragonbrand
• Blackgate
• Jade QuarryJade Quarry doesn’t have near the population of DB or BG how the hell do you expect us to be able to compete?
More decisions which just turn players off the game mode. You need to be more transparent with players about how you made these decisions.
An month or so ago, in another thread, one jqer was complaining about the exact same thing and I told him that if you cut down your SEA, you can increase your NA but no, he argued that if the artifical cap is removed they can recover their NA. Now, it is removed and what? It is the same old thing. The root of the problem is that JQ has overstacked one of their timezones and now your other timezone are suffering the consequences. This is a JQ’s problem, most of it is caused by your very own JQ’s sponsors with their policy to stack off hours without a single care towards other timezones. What anet see in their data is that you have that numbers but your numbers is concentrated on one area, it is not their problem and they cannot afford to increase your cap without the risk that your server again stacking more in that area. Wake up.
this has been already discussed numerous times, please do search the forums

HOT is released in Oct
Epi 25 stack limit is set in July
So, was there any issue during that 3 months? None at all. Why? HOT related contents weren’t available. That is to say condition wasn’t that powerful because there weren’t major attempt to boost conditions and we still had our old anti-conditions balance. When HOT came, things changes. A great amount of attempt to boost conditions arrive with those gears/traits/stuffs and that include nerfing of anti-conditions food and runes. Then boonshare is derived, perma resistance, counter all conditions. Well, it is nerfed and now here we are.
Edit: For those who are new, anet did mention of wanting to boost conditions to make it feasible for WvW back then.
