I believe there is a Tweet stating it will start around 9am PDT. I’ve heard nothing about when it will end. 6pm PDT? 9pm PDT?

I’ve always played a thief, so deadeye but I’m not crazy about it to be honest. the stuff I really like about the thief isn’t part of the deadeye. I like being stealthy, agile, a trickster, deadeye is pretty the contrary to these. a sniper stands still, hundreds of meters away from its victim for the lucky shot.

Um… can someone, a dev or mod, clarify the minimum space requirements? It says 50 GB. Is that for all the current content?

Right now, GW2 is about 29.4 GB for its GW2.dat file (and I have HoT). I only have about 32 GB of space left on my computer… Do I actually need 50 more GB or is the 50 GB including at least the core game?

That is an excellent question. I’ll check for you.

And the answer is, the 50 GB is for everything, not in addition to what’s already in use. Thanks for asking — it’s worth knowing in case others wonder about it.

Crap… I don’t want to uninstall 50% of my other games. Can’t afford a larger SSD yet.

Defrag! <— meant as a joke.

Since I started PC gaming in the 80s, I totally understand what you’re saying. (My first hard drive was 40 MB, and that was considered well above average!) Maybe get an inexpensive external storage device and move a few things there?? Best of luck!

I’ve done it before, but you have to run in action camera. Normal mouse and keyboard is far, far, far superior to gamepad in guildwars2. If you’re casually playing pve or wvw it will work as intended, but for anything remotely competitive or serious, use your mouse and keyboard.

Here’s what I run.

1. My Left Alt (Back button) is bound to toggling action camera, so you can control the mouse for use in inventory, map, etc.
2. My H (Start button) is bound to hero as is normal.
3. My left track pad is bound to my f skills – due to me playing ranger main.
(edit)4. Double tapping a direction dodges.

Asking ArenaNet to add this feature makes sense, as it doesn’t appear challenging or time intensive to complete. Otherwise you’re placing the burden of additional time and expenses onto the player (you) to make this happen.

I don’t want my Windows key disabled globally, since I actually use the Windows key during normal computer operations. I only want the key disabled while playing Guild Wars 2.

ArenaNet is determined to make their game as awesome as possible, and so far they’ve done an excellent job. This is the ONLY feature (that I’ve found) that other games provide which is lacking in Guild Wars 2.

Otherwise, thank you ANet! I’m constantly citing your product as an example of excellent game design!

Since this was always a problem for me, never implemented in GW2, I made a keyboard remap for Autohotkey some time ago to ignore the left Windows key.

Install Autohotkey, copy the following text into notepad and save as “gw2nowin.ahk” and double click it from Explorer. Can be put into Windows autostart, because remap is only active while GW2 is running and the foreground app. Works for 32-bit and 64-bit GW2.

#Warn
#SingleInstance, Force
#NoEnv

GroupAdd prog, ahk_exe gw2.exe
GroupAdd prog, ahk_exe Gw2-64.exe

#IfWinActive ahk_group prog

; ignore left Windows key

This is my 1st post (my apologies if I filed incorrectly)

I am requesting ArenaNet add a feature to the Options menu: “Disable Windows Key”.

You would not believe the amount of times I go to hit the Ctrl or Alt key, only to accidentally press the Windows key. When this happens during a crucial time (ie. about to die) it can be incredibly frustrating.

I’ve seen this option available in MOBAs, and it’s been a life-saver.

I’d rather not hack the registry or anything of that nature, I prefer to keep my computer clean.

So….. please please please! Could you add this feature to Guild Wars 2?

Thank You!!

Thank you for all the details that you’ve provided in your reports. This level of detail will be helpful in allowing QA to thoroughly review what’s going on which in turn would ensure that the devs can implement a correction.

This is common after a patch, especially where there’s a change to the dailies. You can get in some extra rewards, if you happen to have completed a few before the update.

Yep, not uncommon, that’s true. I have routed to the QA Team, and will update if I have more info. My instinct is that the dailies will not be reverted to the previous set when other bugs (PvP lobby issue, in-game mail crash) are resolved, but I am speaking only casually and do not have confirmation of that at this time.

However, what you did there with thief looks also good as well, I#d just remove only the pistol, looks unfitting and go rather with S/D, offhand dagger is lesser irritating than the pistol and fits also better a ninja

Your best bet would probably be the rawhide vest as the body armor slot. There isn’t really a ninja’y short kimono (no idea what that clothing is really called) in the game to be honest.

If you want to play around with looks, you can open up the wardrobe tab in the bank and click on the icons to preview them. Even if you don’t have the item unlocked you can still preview it.

I just do the dailies that give me the best reward for the time and that’s it, I haven’t gotten the Wintersday meta since the first one, and don’t care if I do get it. The jumping puzzle is one that I’m not going to get and I’m not going to waste hours trying to learn it either. Just do what you like and don’t be trying to do stuff that not fun. Its a game you know, not a job.

By playing for another year, collecting things as you go and play the game, obviously.

Seriously, Legendaries are hard work, they were designed to be a long-term goal for players to work towards… Not something handed out as a participation award to every bloke who hit 80.

There is no grind involved. Legendaries are not substantially better than other gear, they’re on par with Ascended weapons. The one thing they have going for them is Stat Changing, and that’s nothing short of a QoL addition that rewards those who work towards it. Legendaries are not required to play the game anywhere, or to progress past some sort of wall. They’re vanity items. Bragging rights for those who worked towards them. And that’s it.

Thief – Duelist | Ranger – Strider | Engineer – Technician |
Elementalist – Spellweaver | Necromancer – Warlock | Mesmer – Trickster |

Ohhhhh —-- you wanted a legendary to be easy? It took almost 3 yrs before I had a precursor drop for the one I am working on now. I did not spend my gold or RL money just to play the mystic toilet to try for one. It’s a legendary which to me means it will take time and lots of it since I will not grind. I will just let it happen. Since I had sold lots of stuff on the TP for gold, no I was not playing it, just selling there for more than at merchants, I had lots of gold to get the ability to try for all at once while just playing all over the core and HoT areas.

Ok, picture yourself as someone who has just hit level 80 been playing for 3 or 4 months and wants to get the new legendary weapon. How on earth are they to get the gold or materials without resorting to heavy heavy grind?

It’s funny that you make it sound like being a 3-4 month old player is something special to be catered to … if you have played more than 3-4 months, you’ve BEEN there and somehow, managed to get through it.

How to get gold, etc… the same way everyone who have been playing since beta does … being ingame only 3-4 months is NOT a barrier to doing anything in this game.

I’ll go back and read Colin’s post in a minute and make a direct comment soon.

There are obviously issues with graphics, minis, auras, effects… All inhabiting the same space so I’d suggest…

Improve your tech.

Create individual slider settings beyond what options we currently have.

You can’t forcefully limit the quality of “cool” animations and effects as a blanket change. Some of us are running 4-5k gaming rigs and we are tossing out matchsticks for fireballs?

It is sad to see that an old game like city of heroes had top quality animations, effects, impacts, crap tons of auras to use, the ability to color/dye your powers… Yet here we can’t even color back gear and weapons, minis disappear, 2000 gold night fury just disappears and we have some awful animations and power effects… For a game that prides itself of aesthetics and is a modern, this is a big shame. It clearly shows that money does not go back to fundamental things (like profession development and reinvestment too).

Also, while I appreciate the beauty of the “scenery”, the attention to detail in many areas, investments in voice actors for npcs in dark corners of the world, interesting events and the ton of temporary powers tossed around the game… It’s clear to see where most major cash investments go…

So honestly, while I can appreciate the frog playing a song on the guitar and all the extra fluff stuff to bring the world more to life, I’d much rather see things like the ranger sword get fixed, Druid get fixed completely, fireballs back on ele, secondary powers like travel powers/skills that put all professions on equal “footing”, revamps to conditions, stealth reworks so thief is not a one trick pony, traits that make sense, better rewards and reward systems…
