I think it would be great to have the skins we unlock during meta-event such as the book of the mad king, the tequatl wing ect… in the window where we already have the zenith ones.
I don’t want to erase the skin for a new one, it’s just terrible, why unlock those skin if it’s for delete them in the next meta event?
Those skin are account-bounded anyway, put them with zenith skin. There is no modification on the economy, and in my opinion, it’s relatively easy to see which player have unlock those skin because of the achievement history, it could be totaly retroactive!
Thanks!

- Make the Guild Message of the Day appear when a character logs in.
- Display a checkbox that lets twahe client know that the message has been read. This flag will prevent the Message of the Day from appearing again unless it’s been changed.
- Make the URL links in the Message of the Day be clickable.
- Increase the character limit in the Message of the Day.

It would be nice to have some Tab somewhere to keep track of when World Bosses spawn and what type.
For instance, you open the TAB and it would tell you how much time is left for so and so World Boss to spawn.
There is no doubt that the ranger is a hard class to play. There are lots of ranger who have a great deal of success with this class and prefer it over any other class.
The difference between the rangers that have the greatest success with this class and the ones who do not is that the one who have the greatest success play the class that is before them. Not the class the hope the ranger to be. They adapt.
To build a good ranger it take more fine tuning. It takes better reaction times. As a ranger you are required to make less mistakes. As a warrior or Guardian you are permitted to eat so of the biggest attacks in the game and just shake it off. Thieves, Ele and Mesmers can disengage from a fight at will and it take very little skill to do so.
Necro and eng just need 10 second and your dead from condtion overload.
As a decent ranger skill level is above the average player. Some rangers can escape at will. The spirited build was nerf because when a ranger is on even ground he kicks kitten . Yes the build was a bit passive but no more than they other classes.
To Play a Ranger you must improve you must adapt you must have a deep desire to over come and never say die.
This isn’t for everyone, but no class is for everyone nor should they be. I play a ranger because its not OP because it’s not easy mode.
Are the issue with the ranger. Yes. I wish my pet scaled with my gear. I wish my pet followed closer to my side. I wish we had more aoe besides axes and traps (barrage does count and piecing isn’t enough (maybe a traited bouncing arrow instead) Pet die but if they die to often then its mostly the rangers fault. Anything that will down a player will kill a pet.
The Ranger core is strong. Rangers learn your strengths over come your weakness then go back build and develop more strengths. To do this you have to over come your fear. I myself am always testing myself. While I like my sword I always have a ranged backup but starting today I will go sword/x and GS. I will develop the skills to effectively run these set in all aspects of the game (exept when I’m farming nothing beats axes). I will run this until I’m satisfied with my performance. Until I’m one of those rangers that almost never die.
The 3 issue I mention are what I feel are the biggest issue outside of them I am happy with the Ranger class. I do not desire a stow option because I know what this class was when I created my ranger.
You get out of this class what you put into it.
everyone should fear becoming mentally clouded and obsessed with one small section of truth.
I just want a griffon, since launch…
..and got 1 GREEN item out of each aether chest. Lol.
Why would I go through that much hassle again for such crap rewards?

A reverse image search reveals this is concept art from Aion.
Doing anything remotely similar to this would unfortunately put Anet in a lot of trouble.
But I do agree that we need more than trench coats for medium armor
I have noticed since a few months that guilds are overshadowed. Many players don’t want a guild and many guild members play alone and never write in guild chat.
To increase the usefulness of the guilds
- I think that the game needs something istanced with more than 5 players and so hard that can not be completed with PUGs.
A 20+ players dungeon probably, with a very very good reward and many bosses inside that required a good coordination too. This should increase a lot the guild usefulness.
- Guild Halls with an associated new upgrade
- GvG and a best Ranked PvP tournament
- Guild Tabard/Cape as a buyable back item had to be ingame from the start
For better management of the guilds would also be useful to know when a player has entered the game for the last time when he is offline and when he is online a schematic (Represent Time/Played time since the recruitment).
Thanks for reading, let me know what you think and also add your suggestions.
Please let us use makeover kits at the character creation fullscreen interface. This will let us see larger/better details that are necessary for makeover decisions. Currently, the windowed interface for this is too small.

I was doing the new twighlight dungeon path on saturday and went to send every member of my party a sharpening stone and after sending 2, I was suppressed and unable to send the rest of the party a sharpening stone for another 4-5 minutes. Why on earth am I being filtered on my party members?
Likewise, as a guild leader of a 400+ person guild I send in game mail message regularly to people who are offline and am once again suppressed after 2 message when I send the same message to between 5-20 people. It takes forever to communicate with those people based on this limitation.
I can understand the filter with people not on your friends list or guild due to gold selling and griefing, but for people we are trying to play with this is quite a hindrance.
I created this thread in General and someone told me I should post it here instead, so here it is!

So ArenaNet, I was talking with guild members tonight and we all thought how great it’d be to have an NPC similar to good old Nicholas the Traveler make his way into GW2. I’d love to see weekly item scavenger hunts. You know, all those trophies we usually vendor? Why not make them tradable and have them be items for weekly hunts like they were in GW1?
For those of you not familiar, Nicholas the Traveler was an NPC in Guild Wars 1 who every week would pick a random zone and a trophy he collected for gifts which could be used or traded. Generally containing candy, party items, ally summoning stones (golems, imps, tengu warriors, etc) or even rare items like rare weapons and minipets.

What he awarded each week:

So, how about it ArenaNet! Any plans on bringing something like this into GW2?

I think it’s a nice idea. Seeing as a lot of people don’t like the designs the new ascended gear. And having a competition like that involves players in the game which is always nice ^^
Although at the same time, it is hard to do good for everyone :/
After looking at the new ascended armour, i thought hey for fun lets have a mini competition, draw (by hand or digitally) a set of light medium and heavy armour for the game, you can show it on all races or just one u can do one armour type instead of all three, and then lets vote on our favorites !
When using a longbow or a shortbow it would be cool if a quiver, matching the bow, appeared on your character’s back.
Just a little tidbit to consider.
I think it should be possible for a Guild Leader to change its Guilds Name and Guild Tag via the Guild Menu.
Surely naturally bonded together with some kind of time restriction on how often this can be used so that it can’t get abused and for other players it should be possible to see for soem time the old name/tag, if it got changed so that players can follow that change for some time in matters for reports or so…
But I realyl thinkl there shpould be something easy in the game as like pressing “G” to get into the Guild Menu as a Guild Leader and press then right beside the Guild name or the Guild Tag with a right click to let a little window pop up, that lets you type in a new Guild Name or a new Guild Tag.
If you then press Enter, a new Window will pop up, that asks you to confirm this change and if the Guild Leader confirms it, that the change will become then the new Guild Name/ Guild Tag, letting a time counter start then, that enables the guild leader to make new changes on that first again, after that time counter has reached 0, like for example after a few weeks or after a month however what anet thinks fits better …
New Guild Name Change Feature
Tired of your handle? Rename your Guild and Tag with the new Name Change feature!
1600 gems allowed only for the guild leader .
I would suggest to revamp pets and give rangers possibilty to choose Beastmastery specialization (you may call it Petmastery), alongside with existing ones. In WoW with Beastmastery hunters do more than 50% of their damage by pets.
Meanwile in gw2 I laugh at pets being on the loose, uncontrollably attacking targets that are not intended to be attacked, one-shotted by bosses, standing still in the aoe circles. And pets damage is also insignificant. And it is quite irrelevant what pet you use.
Secondly, rangers should have ability with a burst damage.
Ofc these ^^ must be in balance with overall performance comparing to other classes.
(edited by Montezuma.1436)
Please also put the character style kit features into character creation, instead of limiting them to the style kits. So players can compare ALL character appearance choices when creating a new character.
The style kits should only be a necessity for editing existing characters, and players should not be forced to buy them to access ALL appearance choices for new characters.

any other ranger players been running around and found that half the animals you fight in the game are cuter or more fun than the range of pets we can acquire? for instance, i wish we could acquire different ages of pets, not just juvenile pets, id like to get baby ones too or adult ones, or that you acquire them as babies and raise them into adults with how much you use them and level them up outside of your own levelling. and have a wider range of pets, i would like to have a pet stag or doe. anybody else agree or wish to expand on this?
I would like to see the new guild halls to be plot of lands you can buy with influence. You will expand on more land/buildings through the use of influence, making huge amounts of influence still interesting for huge guilds. The concept of the guild halls in Guild Wars 1 will be improved with the idea of a dynamic environment. With the option to build your own guild halls it makes future guild vs guild fights much more interesting, especially since different designs per guild make fights always interesting and new. Giving the guild vs guild concept a new dimension.
You can create your own crafting stations which give more XP and crafting success to members. Buy/hire traders for all sorts of materials, guild armor and guild weapons at a discount. Profession trainers and an ambassador for the trading post. A PvP NPC which give access to WvW and sPvP. A big treasure trove giving an appearance of the wealth. A practice field with dummies to practice your fighting style.
We are already able to capture forts, outposts, keeps and castles. But it would feel rewarding, awesome and grand to have your own place for the guild which would give a good impression how good your guild fares. Think about the size, decoration, creativity and authenticity you can give to players.
Half of Tyria is still open to new maps, which might be a good opportunity to use the unearthed lands to make as possible spots of land for the guildhall. The entrance to the guild hall would be a portal within the home instance of every city. With you own house within the area (which is more realistic and appropriate), while a portal close by leads you to the guild hall/plot of land somewhere within the map. Just like in guild wars 1, these plots of land will, when most guilds have gotten started, being opened up for guild versus guild fights.
I know that many of those things have already been done in Guild Wars 1, but I hope that the suggestion for open design and dynamic environment for your guild halls will be one which will be added in the future. It would add a lot of value to the game and give something unique back to the players that made Guild Wars 1 stand out in comparison to other MMO’s.

Not another one of these….
Gimme a gryphon. Then I’ll forever be a happy ranger. ^.^
Main: Caeimhe – Sylvari Ranger
Alts: Charr Guardian, Asura Elementalist, Human Thief, Norn Necromancer
Hey arenanet, thanks for the additional character creation options! Please give us more—from faces, to charr horns, and so on!
Not all of the hair options are to my personal taste, but it’s good to know that character creation is being widened.
Other players: what additions would you like to see to character creation in the future?
Me, I’d like to see a male charr body type with a thinner neck. The females get the option to have a slender neck, or a bulky neck, based on your body type choice. The males though, all have bulky necks. Personally, I’d like my male charr to have a scrawny look, therefore—thin neck.
Truly dark eye color options for humans, too! Deep brown and black please.
And scars that can be added to the faces of characters!
Guild Wars 2 Narrative Lead
The only problem I have with Scarlet is her motive. She’s been behind so many things, and the only motive we have is “she’s crazy”. That just doesn’t cut it.
We haven’t revealed her motive yet. I can understand the confusion and/or frustration surrounding that so we’re looking at ways to accelerate the plot and implement some features that will make it easier to track Living World content. The first phase of that system will be implemented before the end of the year.
During boss fights such as Teq typically people don’t revive someone who is dead they only revive the downed. So it would be nice to be able to quickly distinguish if the group of people is dead or downed.
The mini map does show 2 different symbols for downed and dead, but on the field we just see the one symbol over the bodies. If instead we see the blue skull over the dead people or maybe just have the revive symbol a different color if you are dead I think it would be very helpful.
On a side note I also wish the mini map in PvE was more detailed/clear when you zoom out 2x like in WvW.
Back in 2005 and 2007 we had the opportunity to create weapons design to be brought into the game. How about giving the players the options of creating a legendary and have the winner of the design see their creation put into the game.
This went extremely well for guild wars 1. For example the BDS (Bone Dragon staff) was the most highly sought after staff.

Please allow us the community provide for the game, after all it is going to be FUN!
Since this would be quite the major overhaul i dont expect to happen but still its nice sharing/discussing.
So my idea is something similiar to Death Shroud/Whatever wars have.
It would be called something like ‘Symbiotic Bond’ entering this state would then do the following.
-You and your pet have a shared healthbar.
-This shared healthbar would be your original health times 1.25 or 1.5 or another reasonable number.
-Your weapon skills would get added ‘effects’ depending on the family of the pet you have equiped. So for example if your pet would be a fire drake , your sword/longbow/axe etc #1/ skill would cause burning for a few secs while in ‘Symbiotic bond’, maybe add bleeding when you have felines etc etc etc. (This would be alot of work).
-Your Pets Skills would also get added effects depeding on the weapon you have equiped, for a example felines would get a leap added to one of their attack skills when you have a GS equipped. Bleeding when you have a shortbow(or something else) etc etc.
-Or maybe only the #1/autoattack skills would get added effects because doing all skills is way too much work.
-You get access to your pets full skillbar.
-All boons you get are shared with your pet (basically the fortifying bond trait), But also All boons your pet gets are also shared with you.
-All Pet traits (for example the 30% crit damage for pets) lose 50% of their strenght (so only 15%) but now also affect you.
Basically you can enter and exit this whenever you want since the potentially 200% damage you receive from having a shared healthbar is a great risk imo.
If the risk is too great you and your pet can share attributes which would be your own + a percentage of your pets stats added to it.
So would you have like to have seen this implented in the ranger class? Or have your own take on this?
I find it really weird that we have traits for ONLY our pet wouldve been better if they would be shared.
I liked the new Tequatl fight for a variety of reasons and would like the opportunity to do it again. I noticed, though, the last few times I’ve been wandering around Swampfly, the area is now a ghost town. I seldom see many players on that map even during prime time (I’m on TC).
I think part of the problem is that unlike the other big world events, there is no pre-event to signal that it’s about to start. With the event itself having a very tight time limit, there just isn’t time to muster guildies, let alone map into LA and let people know help is needed. This is one of the things I appreciate about the other big events, I can be chilling in LA and see a call out and go join in.
This is particularly crucial for Teq since we know he needs a coordinated group of 80 or so. Having no time to muster or organize pretty much guarantees he’ll never be done again.
+ New pet UI
+ Pets names, are still bugged
+ Pet skill reliability !!! too many time the F2 skill fails
+ Manual control of the pet ( F1/F4 pet skills – F5/F8 controll skills )
+ F2 skill cd timer, it should be like eles attunements and weapon skills.
+ Pet skills linkable.
+ More pet speed.
