Well with similar logic, what idiot is going to stand there and let 100 blades hit them or facetank a rampage or a mesmer damage rotation?

Particularly, with Rampage and Mesmers Stunlock burst at the current moment, there is widespread PvP debate and controversy over whether or not these are OP and should be nerfed (for the record, certain aspects of both should be, Rampage is an OP lich that doesn’t remove stances when the transform happens, and the mesmer rotation can 100-0 from stealth; something thieves can’t even do, at least not without a player reacting).

And I mean…. it isn’t like rangers aren’t complained about either on power builds. 8-10k Rapid Fires at 1500 range that can’t be strafed (meaning a target has to either get out of range, Line of Sight, blow a cooldown, or reposition behind/through the ranger in a way that cancels the cast) on a short cooldown are widely considered “OP” and “cheese” by a very vocal (if not large) portion of the community.

It’s just that for whatever reason, your average ranger players lives in a bubble in which they are completely unaware of the metric the class measures and think that if they don’t have their own “broken, in need of nerf” hundred nades PU instagib Killshot Rampage 1 button press skill (which many people would argue we do anyhow), that we are somehow weak.

So no, we really are not weak as rangers. We are balanced, at least damage wise on the LB.

It is an obvious bug.
Using bugs knowingly and to get an unfair advantage over other players is called exploiting.
Exploiting is forbidden.
Simple as that.

A simple ingame example would be: “Why are people getting banned for item duplication? The game allows it so you can do it. I don’t understand why people should get banned for duplicating 1000 legendaries.”

Please ban every engi exploiting this in competitive pvp.

1. I tried power ranger (double melee, lB/gs) and trap ranger. All are viable
2. I’ve seen no one use the spirit in pvp. And I don’t think ill use it except for the storm spirit with moment of clarity (but I heard it is bugged).
3. I am having a blast with this build atm. Remorseless and pet makes up for huge hit if you spec in Beastmastery (6k3 bite from a doge on a tower guard in WvW). Also, the new taunt mechanic is really good and responsive.
4. I only play that since I tested it. Sword/Axe + GS. Its really strong, mobile and bursty while still retaining some survivability (marauder amulet). Some also mentionned having sucess with valkyrie amulet to use the opening strike 100% crit to burst.
5. The forum theorycrafted a redefinition of shoutbow with the rune of the trooper and the ranger shouts. The only bad point, the rune of the trooper has been reported to not affect any shout in the game.

Also the only negative feedback I can give now is how strong is the condition damage. So, it force us to take the wilderness survival on every build. Therefore, nature magic is not really used anymore even tough it brings alot of nice utilities.

EDIT: I forgot to add that my biggest disapointement was the loss of extra range with off-hand training.

Any word on when this will be fixed? We got a nice mortar nerf right off the bat, meanwhile people are still being one shot by grenade barrage.

I do not in any way think that this is meant to be intentional by Arenanet. The amount of engineers running around to completely one shot enemies from stealth is just ridiculous, and a little disheartening that so many find it fun to complete abuse mechanics like this.

WvW is now full of people hopping out of a keep while stealthed, erasing a character, and running back into the keep for “lulz.”

Everyone has had a tough gank. Everyone has been deleted by a thief/mes/etc, but I’ve never been completely one shot by a single ability in the entire time I’ve played this game, until now. This interaction offers no real counterplay. As a fellow engineer, the only thing I can hope to do is spam AoEs around me and pray I proc Lock On. I realize that this build makes the engineer very squishy, but that means nothing when I auto lose the fight immediately from stealth. Not to mention, rocket boots/ Elixer S / Gear Shield provide amble ability for even an engineer with 1 health to escape.

I’ve always hated grenades, and I have stayed away from using them. This crap just makes me hate them even more.

Players should know when to use and when not to use things in game. Using a bugged trait like this in a competitive game mode is bad form. So just don’t do it! I would use a lot more colorful descriptions of what kind of gamer you’d be for using this but, I already received my infraction for today

Because there are so many Rangers camping in lakes and rivers in WvW to take advantage of it too…

I’ll admit I’ve used the water to my advantage more times than I can count when fighting 1vX. A ton of people don’t have crappy underwater weapons equipped, have no idea how to use them, and don’t bother with an exotic head piece, so they lose their rune bonus.

My favorite way to use the water to my advantage is if I’m playing longbow. I’ll keep cc’ing the player into the water with wolf/PBS and pew pew them down. The term “shooting fish in a barrel” is very accurate in those situations.

@Op- As far as “exploiting” goes….. using our downed state mechanic is not exploiting any more than ele’s are exploiting theirs by mistforming into a keep, or thieves are by teleporting out of AoE, warriors using vengeance, etc.

If you are having problems 3v1’ing underwater I suggest you either
a) set up your underwater build so you are doing damage
b) learn to fight 1v1 so maybe the ranger would stay and fight you on land instead of having to kite
c) get good
d) don’t be bad

Do you have numbers on this “large portion”? I don’t see anyone complaining about it in-game, on Reddit, and this is the first post about it on the forums.

Everyone deserves basic human rights and being able to marry who you love is one of them. If you’re teaching your kids otherwise, you don’t deserve to be a parent.

You don’t have to agree or believe but everyone has the right to love the person that they love. Also everyone deserves the most basic of human rights and that’s to be treated with respect and dignity no matter your sexuality, race, religion, size or disability.

Wait, so a group of people start a guild that welcomes like minded individuals so that they can play together and have a place to be with people.

You haven’t actually thought this through have you?

The last I checked, straight people aren’t an oppressed minority who face bigotry in their day to day lives and would thus need a place to find someone like minded friends. The last I check, I could just stick my head of the door and see any number of fellow straight people.

But you know, to each his own. If you want to make a guild based around a knee-jerk reaction to other people being happy, well that says alot about you.

I never really realized how racist people nowadays are until I became good friends with some people that moved to the US from Africa a few years ago. In the Midwest, I assumed people believed like I did – that color doesn’t matter and everyone is equal – but that was an illusion for me, sadly. What my friends were treated like on a regular basis shocked and angered me. It’s just so wrong.

All guilds are assumed to be pro-heterosexual unless stated otherwise, given that heterosexuals make up the majority. So there’s not much point tbh.

I’m in a guild for people 30 years and older, [GZR], so there are all sorts of guilds. You want to make a hetero only guild? Knock yourself out. In this case, I’m sure only the finest individuals will be joining you. (And we will all be glad you found each other).

Personally I’d like to see this happen just because now I’m curious if the OP could think of anything such a guild would do. Can she be more pro-heterosexual than basically any other guild in existence without resorting to being anti- something else? Tune in next time as OP tackles being completely normal in a world full of people who don’t care…

Also those guilds do not exclude straight people.

Creating a guild that is “pro-heterosexuality” is offensive and against the rules, it would be like creating a guild that was “pro-white”.

I’m pretty sure the LGBT guilds take everyone, even allies, and exist because of the need for a safe space – not anything sexual.

Yes but the piercing grenades one shotting people is an obviously broken feature. Where as Mesmers don’t have anything that can one shot people or anything that’s being “exploited” they just plain and simple deal way too much damage. They got overbuffed. Nothing to argue about.

These engineers are using a bug, if you take the trait Grenadier, your grenade barrage goes back to 1500 range and you throw 13 grenades instead of 6. It will get fixed in close future too, you can be sure about that, because it is totally broken. But bug using engineers aren’t an argument to get the ICD removed from Clarion Bond.

I’m not saying the ICD should be removed, I’m saying it should be reduced to synchronize with the (traited) pet swap cooldown.

Besides, after tweaking my guardian’s build a bit, it’s leagues above anything my ranger could do, even before clarion bond was nerfed.
