Are you trying to tell us you can’t kill a berserker staff ele on your LB ranger? Are you acting out for attention because someone is hurting you, and you need help? Post twice if you are being held hostage.

To explain: I’d really like it if the tooltip would show not just the name/usage of the item, but the amount of the item in the bank (like it does when in the inventory). Some items’ icons, like the Watchwork Sprockets or Wool Thread, are light enough that the number is difficult to read, and I have to remove the item to my inventory to see the actual amount.

Now, I am using SweetFX in these screenshots, but I have the problem even without SweetFX. And I know I could adjust my monitor’s gamma, but it’s perfect in every other way, so I don’t really see that as an option.

It’s not a big thing, but they can’t all be big things. Thanks for listening! <3

Agreed, seriously doubt this will take away from WvW, and it’s a major nod to the GvG community. Good on Anet for listening and implementing this, we’ll see how the end results turns out obviously, but this looks promising.

I would say to rest easy if you feel that this would take away from WvW.

This will allow guilds across all servers to fight, right? That means there’s much less need to hop around servers just to fight another guild?

If there were really groups on your server that only fight on OS and never come out to help your server, that wouldn’t change a thing. If they cared about your server to begin with, they will naturally come out. Plus you wouldn’t get any of those guilds that don’t care about your server just to solely gvg and take up your queue space or not.

In any case, this can only be a good thing I feel. If hardcore players have more incentive to play, the game will naturally last longer as they continue to innovate the meta which will spill into wvw fights. And as much kitten many people like to claim that those fight groups don’t help their server, chances are they are often a driving force behind activity behind all aspects of wvw.

I don’t think anyone really has to worry about GvG in guild halls replacing WvW or hurting the WvW population. The difference is pretty clear, open world PvP is all about the unexpected, wont be any of that in the guild hall arena and GvG matches will have to be planned for so definitely not a 24/7 thing. At first some guilds might spend a lot of time in there but in the end it will probably serve a pretty narrow purpose with use for special occasions or practice sessions.

That being said, guess it is time for me to go guild shopping for HoT since my little guild of one isn’t going to cut it for this kind of fun. The guild hall stuff looks pretty sweet but too bad it doesn’t come in more flavors, hopefully more styles can be added later . . . please not in the gem store tho ><

I am happy GvGers were given something more workable than OS even if it is something I am not personally going to be spending a lot of time on. Speaking of which, what becomes of OS when HoT comes out? Might it get a rework as well to go back into jumping puzzle status with maybe a more worthy reward? Still is a fun map to sneak around on if it saw more use.

Wouldn’t call this GvG worthy.
It looks very small, maybe 1/4th of OS.
It can be decorated with walls and tower (I guess alright… If at least there would be enough space to play with)
It has traps, turrets and the terrain can be moved during the fight.

Of all the things they could screw up, they just had to do it with GvG. Supose it’s too hard to listen to the community…

They said you can customize the arena by adding things and going with that logic, you can take all the traps and walls away as well.

I suppose that could be possible and hopefully will work along with the lameness of some people to not screw up fights.

Arena still seems too small for a 20v20 or even 15v15. I expect it to be 10v10, but one can only hope..

It will be in your or your opponents guild hall, you won’t have random strangers showing up trying to interrupt the fight like you get in OS. If someone decides to be an kitten just kick him from the guild, you’re better off without those people anyway.

Ascended Armour now 10% difference, Thoughts?

Is there anything at all you people won’t complain about? I have 9 full ascended sets, at least one of every ascended weapon, typically 2-3 of some. I’ll have to adjust my armor to make way for the new changes too, but if you farmed as hard as I had to in order to get full ascended gear, then you best believe it better be like a 10% increase. If you don’t want to farm for ascended or fight people with it, go play PvP.

This guy gets it. My question is, why stop at only 10%? If you farm much harder than everyone else, shouldn’t you be getting at least a 50% increase? I feel like if you put in the hours and 500+ gold for Ascended, you should be able to 1-shot people in Exotics. After all, that’s basically how mass pvp works in every other generic MMO, and people bought GW2 knowing it was going to follow the exact same formula. So they shouldn’t be upset.

I kinda feel like players with full ascended, mixed ascended / exotic, and full exotic are all having the rug pulled out from under them to some degree.

-If you had full ascended, but figured in trait stats into your build (up to 300 armor and 3000 health), that goes away now, and may affect your build.
-If you ran a little low on vitality assuming you’d have guard stacks most of the time (up to 2500 extra health), that goes away now.
-Can’t salvage ascended gear if you would want to trash something to get the upgrade component back
-Still can’t salvage exotic WvW and karma gear.

These things don’t affect PvE players much since PvE is most generally played with full glass gear, and the meta for optimum runes and sigils has not changed much. Things change in WvW though.

Add in this new mysterious system for skill points / skill challenges (?) to unlock specializations….and you’re basically screwed if you’re a WvW player that players multiple classes, but without a lot of gold and / or time to grind, grind grind.

Then again, we know the wise masters don’t really care about players that just want to play WvW.

Every class is facing similar situations Nat – and getting away and taking a breather in a keep or tower while CD’s return isn’t a bad thing.

The way I see it is there are Ranger builds that work well solo, there are builds that work well in Havoc. And there are also builds that work well in zerg combat allowing survival. One has to find the comfort level to match their skill.

Then at the end of the day there are just better players who can play naked and do well. At the end of the day I don’t think Arena Net designed the game for a single player to face and live against 50. I could be wrong though.

Do note many of the teleportation break-stun and can be casted while CCed.
It does nothing to blink Mesmer and Shadow-step thief anyway.

For mesmer, it’s even worse cause they’d most like summon clones/ phantasm to waste your trap first.

Point taken. I just remembered Mesmers will reflect the CC back to me after the changes. Shame on me.
But I will come up with a valid build one day! Mark my words!

That image isn’t helped by the fact that when I whisper a Ranger with ~700 AP to say “hey, most people hate it when you use Point Blank Shot for no reason because it gets the mob(s) out of position)” I receive a reply saying “I didn’t ask for your opinion. No one has complained about it before.”

A facepalm didn’t even begin to cover what all was wrong there.

It was worse in that not only were they just hitting PBS every time it was off CD, they were doing the same with Hunter’s Shot. Hunter’s Shot a mob right in their face (yes, Longbow in melee range too) and immediately break the stealth while still staying in melee with the mob.

Sadly, the class does enable that bad of a player to succeed in open world which then hurts the image of the Ranger class when that bad of a player tries to run dungeons.

Why to nerf Consume Conditions on Necro? Where’s the reason? You propably wanted to make other heals being more used, but in PvP they are almost nothing compared to Consume Conditions in it’s current state. Please, let it be as it is. Or if you really want to make other heals being more used, then buff them. But Necro doesn’t deserve more nerfs

I am lazy to write it over and over. So sorry for my English.

I’m loving these new changes but I do believe healing spring should NOT be a trap!

Where does it say Healing Spring will be a trap?

They said it was in the livestream. What was once old is now new again.

Which brings up another question for me; Other than this, are there any other changes that have been made that are not on the list? Specifically, I’m thinking of several changes mentioned in the first specialization livestream that are not showing up in the new list, like Consecration skills becoming ground-targeted and Engineer Pistol 1 and Rifle 5 becoming explosives for the purpose of traits. Did you decide to scrap them, or have they become so natural that you just forgot that you’re only making the change live this patch?

Guardians got nerfed.

The devs proving once again that they hate Guardians. We are now officially the most broken profession in this game.

lol. have you not heard of ranger? we have just been shot in the head. ugh (It’s just as well love my ranger regardless of the crappy changes they’ve made).

rangers were buffed in too many ways to list here.

I can no longer instantly heal and clear conditions with healing spring.

My traps have to be placed at my feet and I cannot place them right where I want them. I’m less concerned about the arming timer for the old traps…but my heal? when I hit heal I want to heal not wait 1/2 a second and hope I’m not dead by the time my healing spring is ready for me.

So now I have to use a different heal skill because when I hit heal I better get a heal right then not some time later and hope I’m in the same spot when I hit that heal.

Because I have to change my heal I’m losing condition cleanse. Why isn’t there a survival skill for condi clear? Seems like that should be a basic survival skill…

I don’t use spirits because they were a pain to use and I don’t plan on using spirits still.
I loved traps for the extra AoE damage fields but I can’t put them where I want anymore.

How is this better?

And again are Rangers the only ones getting stuck with an arming timer on traps? Shouldn’t all traps in the game work the same?

That update will probably kill trapper runes/rangers :/

^This. My favorite build was my Throwing Trap Ranger. Now my play style has been thrown out the door. My favorite character has just turned into an alt. I have no idea what I will play now.

I am not opposed to changes like they have done, but so many builds that were staples and enjoyed by a large number of players have been callously trampled on. Something I have enjoyed for years and mained means nothing now.

Disappointed doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel. Unceremoniously thrown in the garbage may be a better way to describe it. Thanks for nothing ANet.

I’m seriously considering ditching playing my Ranger, and I’ve played her since…. forever. Might try a revenant.

This is just horrible.

I’m going to make my ranger work, but I’m going to miss the AoE fields that my former traps provided. And I’ll have to trait for condi cleanse rather than choosing other traits now…is Troll Ungent becoming a wilderness survival skill?

What sense does it make that we can’t ground target anymore?
What sense does it make that thief and Dragon Hunter traps DON’T have an arming timer (they didn’t mention that anywhere)?
What sense does it make to have a heal that doesn’t heal you when you activate the skill?

The way I’ve formerly played ranger is changing and I’ll adapt, but I still don’t like some of the changes.
