I love watching smallscale vids, but I stopped watching when I saw your setup @ 1.21… 5 man group running with three guards and two warriors, are you serious? Probably the most braindead & faceroll smallscale comp. one can imagine. Stacking guards is just too cheesy for me…sry.

many ranger say “we’re underbuffed pleas buff us” but i think ranger only feel jealous because unbalanced bear out perform them

I too have experienced the might of the Devil-Bear.
Changes to meta make me think time to stop hiding in Divinities Reach and take Elementalist into WvW again. Ele much powerful again.
I grab Wup-Wup staff because Ele is Jacky of all trades, stronk in all.
Lightning hands! I run with fastness from spawn camp, see Necro!
Ha-ha silly Necro, my diamond skin is stronk against your Spiteful Signit, I change to burning hands, smite Necro with lava fountain and flaming balls. Victory!
Next see coward Thief, he stealth and run fast too afraid of powerful AOE. Ha-ha coward thief, go find Warrior to kill.
Then I see plantman Ranger with BEAR! I know ranger stronkest of all but must fight for honour of my father. Bear is running at me, I strike with fire, bear not care, still running. I use lava fountain and OP keep moving tactic. Flaming back roll! Bear keep coming, run all way up fire path. Why bear not on fire? Bear made of fur. Fur and teeth and devil eyes.
Ranger is pew-pewing me with small bow. pain. agony. indigestion.
Bear biting me, much bleeding! I make bleedings too, change to dirt hands use shocking wave. Bear is very hurt but so am I try to make space with super elite flaming run away sword.
Hit invisible rock start running on spot, then cunning plantman ranger uses leafy magic and I stuck more. Change to water hands for much healing, not heal 100% ranger shooting with icky poison arrow.
Then I see bear change colour! Same bear but brown now. Different colour but same devil eyes! Same bear.
Now I know. Bearamentalist! Bear change colour when attunement swap!
Bear 100%! Why bear heal so much in water?
Ranger use OP weapon swap to big bow and strike me with thousand arrows from heaven. Bear chewing, much damage even in water atunement, must be from F1 might stack, could not see screen properly through tears. Not bother trying to rez, did not want bear to change to fire atunement and drop lava bear nugget on me.

I think the threat of being eaten by bearbows keeps many people up at night. Beware the bear!

This is why I don’t run bearbow. People run in the other direction making it very hard to find fights. Lately though they just run no matter the pet that is up. I never understood it. No guilds want us rangers and no one wants to play with us either. It makes this Sylvari ranger very sad.

Q: how to deal with rangers pets.

A: keep running around ignore the pet and stress out on ranger throwing everything to his/her face, ranger dead, pet dead, 2 birds ( or bears ) 1 stone story.

If you fail to do that, its not the pet being OP but the player being to stupid to anticipate on very telegraphed skills such as wolfs howl or murrelows poison

Go check on Rangers subforum CDI and read how many people say pet’s AI is broken which is true yet some people come here and complain about it. Maybe the ranger will own u in 1v1 or in small scale fights but any class can do the same.

This is clearly a Learn2Play, heck Learn2Anticipate and not an Overpowered issue

Alright but, can you like make a video of this tactic? Because ever since yesterday everyone has been saying the same advice and so far I haven’t seen much progress.

Teach me how can you beat those bears? I even went underwater to escape from the ranger and his bears but they can go underwater too. I really don’t understand how constantly moving helps if you get CC’ed to the max.

Bears dont CC, all their attacks are melee based so if u move around the pet will do its animation but your out of range already, just keep running around and aim for the ranger, not the pet.

A few pets can do cc from range but most are used by the F2 function but it often doesnt work or go on CD without doing anything.

I HAVE TRIED THIS AND IT DOESNT WORK!!! I run around all day and since I can’t get into range to attack the ranger the OP bear ends up killing me!! Please, like someone asked, upload video of your tactics against the OP bearbow!! I can hardly get out of my spawn before I get OP beared to death!

What class/build do you run that keeps on getting ganked by a pet, full zerger?
Would like to ask you to upload a video how u deal with the pets, I can uploads one myself but its nothing but people ignoring my pet and running into me with stability/regen/condi removals/dodge/stun/cc and perhaps some stealth here and there

Problem is not the pet, but the people that cant be bothered ignoring it

Last night I was taking advice, found a HUGE norn male ranger, he really fat. He did not have Bear so I felt safe, and knew I had skills from reading this page to help me.

First part he sends Moa at me, try daze, I use the dodge but I hit the key 2 instead of 1 time. Now no dodge roll but I think still ok, Moa is fierce but not letting that stop I begin to lay own PAIN ANGUISH AND TORMENT on Moa pet: DEAD, I got it. \

Now I realize that ranger just gonna swap pets, probably bear this time so I decide: GOING FOR RANGER.

All of the sudden big fat norn guy turn into HUGE NORN BEAR at this point I am in terror never seen Bear only Leopard and he use some skill like a signet next thing I know nornbear thing charge me and I oneshotted, downstate, try to heal, try to rally…NO, 10ft BearNornManThing just wailing away on me. Then NORNBEAR /laugh and jump on me….

Bears mauled my face pretty hard in there. Its kinda what they do. Bears. Mauling and such. And those drake hounds. Lordy those drake hounds. Worse than them though are those hyena and them calling for back up. Its like hello, free pet!

More awkward being surrounding by Bear in water. If Bear die ranger just sends Wolf or Drakehound, still 1200 wailing away with arrows of fury, pain, anguish, much hurt.

Not sure if this has came up in the past, but I have been super frustrated with Ranger Pets.

I feel as though Ranger pets are overpowered, their skills always hit me, and when I kill the pet the Ranger just send another after me LEAVE ME ALONE.

I feel as though pets should be made to be more inconsequential in WvW.

No they are not overpowered they work just fine and are a major part of the class and when your fighting a ranger try killing the ranger instead of the pet cause when the ranger dies so does the pet

OK Oddoad, you make a dramatic, but resonable point.
It is sad to hear that you are going to stop playing ranger because they will no longer be viable. Unfortunately as it is, if you no longer feel useful, you should try to be more productive in a different manner.

I wish you good luck with whatever profession you choose to reroll to, and i sincerely ask you to send me your stuff.

yes please! I try out new classes to use them in WvW and I do not like PVE and would rather roam in WvW than spvp.

Please implement this so I can level up my necro and maybe try ele at last.

New grandmaster for ranger traits:
Reduce Repair Cost
Auto Respawn
Turn into Warrior

Honestly tho, I don’t know if I want to see what the other new traits are…

I can’t decide whether my favourite thing about this is that it is yet another longbow trait in the over stuffed marksmanship line or that its only use will be trying to combat a bug in ranged combat.

Can’t wait to see what the other grandmaster traits are, should be hilarious.

Technobabble, which is a 6 second daze with MoC is incredibly powerful….The ability to lock out abilities for 10 bloody seconds every time you interrupt is just so bloody oped
