Yes, with the guaranteed rares from Orr temple events, globs are going to drop by a lot, if I had to guess I’d say back to 25s or less. I think that’s a good thing.
This game was released 6month+ to early.
HAHA, so it seems A.net was indeed BS’ing the whole time – no big surprise given their track record lately.
NO WAY in h-e-double hockey sticks was this thing already properly in the loot table in-game – dropped from Shadow Behemoth? REALLY?
Yeah, sure, because nooobooody would have gotten that as a drop yet, all the times that thing has been killed since launch.
Yet coincidentally, the staff is “available” in PvP as of today’s patch.
I’m sure some people spent an inordinate amount of time looking for this, but thank God I didn’t; I just figured A.net was full of crap as usual. Just another case of their employees not knowing wtf they’re talking about?

All in all… I think he gave a great and informative bit of response there… with a good deal of transparency. What I derive from it is that they have technical limitations right now that limit the amount of bandwidth their servers can use, so they put caps on things in order to preserve the quality of the combat. You would be even more annoyed if your dodges suffered massive latency.
You seem to have never been exposed to statements of officials of any corporate entity before. Ask yourself, under the assumption that somebody responsible for product quality really kittened up. How likely, on a scale of 1 to 10 is it for an official in front of the gathered consumers, to admit, yes, we totally kittened up?
No matter what crap you told them, you’d always get an “oh my, that’s a very interesting idea, I’ll totally bring that up on the next dev meeting.”
Is anything being done to address that to make them (conditions) less redundant?
To which colin replies that it is a very interesting idea that might foster better team play… in other words a remake of class skills so that there is less overlap. This is a solution that works within the technical limitations he presented in the first part of his response. But he also discusses general quality of life issues such a massive rework would cause for the classes affected if they could no longer stack certain conditions.
You clearly haven’t read any other meet n’ greet or AMA or anything else like that because if you did you’d know that “That’s a very interesting idea!” means “We’re not doing anything about it nor have we thought of doing anything about it, but we’re going to say it’s a nice idea to make you feel good about yourself”.
If they made all armors have flashy effects COF wouldn’t be as widespread as it is now.
Alas Anets design team is lacking in the gear department. They make some gear amazing flashy, flames and other effects… then other gear of the same quality is just like….. wtf is this? Same goes for legendary weapons Twlight being a prime example of a great looking legendary….. then you have ones like the scepter for instance that just make you say…..UH what happened?
On a game largely based around looks on gear rather than stats you would think they would put some effort into making all sets on par… That way people could make cool unique sets and still get fancy effects.
CoF armor has been cliche for a looooong time now. I think the running stereotype is a Charr sigil warrior using a greatsword in full zerker CoF armor.

There are a lot of really cool things we could do with the combat log that would benefit the entire game. This could include making sure all combat events show up, color coding, and even skill links. This polish could be rolled into the death breakdown as well.

OR, you could give us an in-game interface that satisfies the same functions as GW2LFG, so we don’t have to rely on an external website to help match players and groups together.
You know, like your competition offers. Seriously, why promote an external website when this kind of functionality should really be included standard in modern MMOs? Why hasn’t it happened yet?

I love Juggernaut’s effects, but I don’t like the hammer itself. That’s where, I feel, Mjolnir really shines.
That drop chance is such an outlier that I honestly think it wasn’t obtainable ingame until recently, and ANet masked the fact by giving it such a low drop rate. That way it is believable that it was obtainable the entire time.

There’s still no reason to kill champs, Colin. Blue does not good reward make.
1 × 453 (+healing power) heal from sigil = 453
3 × 325 heal from omnomnom = 975
This is what carries the day, not the traits. And it can with equal ease be applied to any other profession out there…
At present i will say that necro traits are either underpowered, buggy, or both.
And that does not just apply to the vampiric traits.
A heal signet thief chewing omnom will outperform a necromancer using traits…

Why are HoM animals weaker than normal ones? We worked so hard for our points and the rewards just aren’t rewarding.
