My most memorable moment in this game was when I was touring some guildies to get the samples. Everywhere we went, there was a riot, or mobs where attacking the settlement, 3 Veteran Karkas decided to aggro on us at the same time (we ended up killing about 7-8 of them, one after the other, non-stop), Jungle wurms appeared just on our feets, we cried in frustration at the JP, and killed those pesky insties (Several times).

I’ll miss this island when the event is over. Well.. I will miss the MF buff and the insti farming too

It is true. And right now I am going to be that guy.

It’s been great to run around a dangerous sunny island paradise each day collecting flowers and passion fruit, mithril, and lot’s and lot’s of green items. Fighting off waves of giant Karkas has been amongst the best group events I have done, they are big tough, angry and have left enough player bodies in the sand to keep the danger level convincing.

The jumping puzzle is probably the toughest JP there is, at least from my experience with it and the sheer volume of player complaining in /map. It’s a real challenge and I think it meets the islands expectations as nothing here is easy.

The crab challenge frustrated me for days until I got the hang of it and won, thankfully losing still means you get an item so it’s bitter sweet but, it taught me lot’s about dodging and managing my abilities a bit better.

That’s how I see it anyway.

Well for me the main reason to play the new content is just that – getting to play new content. The way I look at it I play the game to have fun and rewards are either tools to enable me to do that (like higher levelled gear which makes high level content easier) or something cool looking which is a minor part of the fun. So I’d be doing the new content whether there were reward items or not.

But in answer to your question at the moment it’s only the two back items and stuff from the Southsun Chests. But there will be more rewards added in the second part of the story – coming on the 28th. I can’t remember if we’ve been told what they are yet, but if we have it’ll be on the Secrets of Southsun section on the main website.

So what are they? Those two back items are all that I can look forward to?

I know about the new skins but let’s be honest… They aren’t so pretty and nearly unobtainable by regular player.

What do you mean they are unobtainable?
I really wanted the Flower back piece and I got it in two days- it only took me this long because I had very little time to play.

I would go one step further.

For a cost of 480-600 gems you get a addition Hero Panel (similar to the Town Clothes) which you can drag a set of Armor into and a 2nd Trait line linked to it. If slot is empty it uses whatever is in the 1st Panel (in the same way as if you equip D/D and Scepter on a Necro when you swap the Sceptre uses the 2nd Dagger)

This would solve a lot of issues in the game PvE builds not working in WvW well. Condition Stacking as my Necro could have a secondary Direct Damage/Life Leach build, therefore if I end up teamed with another 2 Condition people in a dungeon I could swap, and a lot of other issues.

I could also see me ending up buying 4 or 5 builds for my Engi. There are so many cool builds I would like to try. That’s 3k gems that I could be purchasing.

I would say maybe a visual addition.
For example if you have the dungeon master title you have maybe a small dungeon logo above you.
Same as with the: ‘been there done that’ title that shows a small gold star logo with you.
And with master crafter I would say maybe some sort of universal tools logo.
And maybe a medic cross when you have combat medic.
And so on

Edit: only one logo at the same time then.

Devotion to that what matters.

I want the Title system that was available in gw1, where if you had a title equipped you would get a specific boost. I thought that was cool. It gave people a reason to go for the title, and made getting the title worth it (other than bragging rights). It’s just an idea.

A few ideas,
1. have option to show guild members on current map as gold dots (like party dots)

2. Add the option to limit the number of items some one can withdraw from guild bank by rank, so anyone could use it and you don’t have to worry about someone cleaning it out in less than 5 min. maybe preset 1 2 5 [unlimited]

3. The guild backpacks are outdated and over priced for the stats that are on them. Also it would be nice to have more variety as far as looks go for them.

4. Real dungeons, The current “dungeons” are more like team puzzles and every monster in is over powered (which is fine a challenge is good)
what the game is lacking is dungeons where you fight your way down a bunch of floors with hordes of scarey monsters towards a chest you know will have something nice it in.
20 floors down with no wp along the way with your friends. If you get wiped out you will just have to hope another party makes it to you or start over (if you want more details message me on this one )

5. Fix your current bosses! The dragons, (Teq especially) are broken.
the Targets that appear on the legs are not even close to where you really have to attack. Its off by a good 2-3 inchs on my screen, also you just stand in one spot and heal eachother and spam spells :/ not very epic… I would like to see more animated bosses that move around and make us give chase make em smaller if you need to, in order to fix the targeting but make em more fun.

6. Guilds, New players have no idea how your (rather complicated) guild system works, the do not understand representing or why you need to do it and explaining it 400 times gets a bit old, Easy fix for this, if player belongs to guild join new guild as (non representing), If Player dose not belong to guild set player to (representing)

7. put the word “Dye” next to the eye dropper the area is not being used and new players would probably catch on faster.

8. Again challenging is good but there is a line between challenging and just flat out annoying. We do have spells to stabilize us from getting knocked down… but they last a few seconds at best. when your fighting monsters and you keep getting knocked down nonstop its just annoying, you use up your few sec and get maybe 3 hits in and then your flopping around like a fish out of water watching your life go poof and there is nothing to do about it :/

9. Current dungeons are not balanced take a group of newer lvl 35 players and try to clear that some time. even with a level 80 or two it can be hard to clear AC exp

I am not trying to knock the game it is an outstanding game but a few tweaks could make it way better : 3

Player Shops – nope, not a good idea at all. That’s why we have the trading post.
By having a shop option players will inflate the market determining their own prices and a confusion by having many shops that the buyer need to actually walk from one to another to find a “good price”.

Player housing – We do have the home district though I thought it would be more like what you said.

Other methods of travel –
-mounts- won’t happen. Maps too small for that.
-Wagons boats etc that’s actually nice and interesting!

I think that there are more important things to focus on though.

7/Well free is maybe too much,(not actually sure how much it cost right now tho) maybe cheaper then? I think that Arenanet has it as a goldwell right now.

The fee to reset traits is quite small, actually, but the system is annoying.
Each time i want to try to allocate 5 trait points from one line to another I have to speak with a NPC, pay and restart from scratch to allocate points and traits.

I think it is a barrier if I only mean to try a small variation.

Also I don’t believe this is the main money sink mechanic in game so… it’s better to set it to zero cost.

The opposing gender’s armour meshes would have to be reworked to fit both male and female characters which would take time. However, anything that offers more armour options can only be a good thing IMO.

Hi All,

Guild Wars 2 in my opinion has great armor design and it’s very open minded with the possibility it offers for showing/hiding certain parts of it.

That being said, my suggestion is due to the fact that manny of the armors tend to be very different between Male and Female, and I propose that a new option is created (having a new icon for Male/Female inside each equipment) that let’s us change the design for one equipment to the gender selected.

The idea was originally created as a way to solve the problem that happened when many members of my guild disliked how Females had only “Pop Idol” designs mostly and lacked male style’s. It’s not that there are no options, but it’s a fact that there are very few.
Vice versa, for any man that wants to dress as, let’s say in example “Drag Queen” (Why not?) can suit themselves. With only adding this option, the game can duplicate it whole equipment options available for each character.

Please tell me your thoughts about this Idea?

Now before some of you get excited that another supporte of race change is commenting on this thread that could have been posted on one of the 100 other threads about this. I do not support race change I say if you like the elites or modles of the other races make a new character. Or delete and re-roll.

The real issue is Arena Net specificy stated they are not doing it. So if race change is a thing that is game breaking for you then there are other games that give that option.

Well hey guy, is it okay for us to make a suggestion to Anet on the suggestion thread? Or do we need someones approval first?

And can we suggest it without being told that if we don’t like the way it is, delete/reroll or go somewhere else?

Believe it or not, game companies often change their minds about things. Especially when there is money to be had, and a player base that will be happy with the changes.

Oh, and by the way, these forums already have moderators monitoring them, I’m sure they don’t need any unsolicited help.

I sent a message to a moderator recently regarding this same subject. I suggested that they reset the player’s personal story on that character, giving them the ability to play through that storyline, without forcing the player to throw away all of their time spent on that character. I also suggested that they require the player to have complete a character’s personal story in order for it to be eligible for a Race Change. I feel that those two features coupled with a fair gem cost would be more than fair. I am sure there are more technical concerns involved than just the personal story, however I am sure they could resolve them.

I am honestly surprised such a feature that has proven to be both popular, and profitable in World of Warcraft has not been implemented. That is not to say that I enjoy the sad, watered-down, shell of its former self game that it has become more than Guild Wars 2, however, some of Blizzard’s development choices were unarguably clever, popular, and appreciated by their community.

Well in my instance I found out later I really cant stand the race of the character I had, so would have gladly paid for a race change. This company dosent have the ability to offer that, so I thought ok I will craft and reset the cheap crafting skill to 0, nope cant do that.

The fun part is not making the same class to 80 twice, so even if they limited the ability to make it the same level as your max level character of the same class.

On many of my six 80’s l realised too late that preferences for:
- armor was with another order.
- elites were on a different race
Even though there may be some potential problems with personal storylines, a kit such as the ‘hair change’ or ‘total makeover’ could be worth considering at some point.

One simple change that’ll end zerging; remove the 5 target cap from offensive AoE skills. If bunching up didn’t guarantee safety in AoE (wtf Anet?) people wouldn’t blob up like they do.

More Dungeon Information Per Character

Agreed. This would be very handy to have, especially if you run a lot of dungeons during the day with your guild or friends and use several different characters.

To add to this, how about also something to show what Personal Level a character is at for Fractals of the Mists so we don’t have to guess or go to the door just to check?

More Dungeon Information Per Character

Can we get a dungeon status update somewhere in our character records added to our Story or Hero panel or somewhere?

For example:
Ascalon Catacombs dungeon: story mode complete, path one complete, path two complete, path three incomplete

or

Honor of the Waves dungeon: story mode incomplete, path one complete, …

Since the game already tracks who has completed story mode and who hasn’t per character, it would be nice to be able to look at one of your alts and see which ones haven’t done story mode yet, which ones have, and which paths still need to be done, without having to travel each character to the entrance to find out.

Hello.

Guild Wars 2 is one of a few games that promote supporting other players. There are many way that your character can support others. At least when you’ve prepared it only or that.
When I play PvE and go solo, my build is egoistic and self-centered. When supporting group (guild or even other players on map), not only my armor and weapon are not adjusted to become “helping hand”, also my traits should be changed. Switching armor, jewelry, skills and weapons isn’t as time-consuming as going to trainer to ask him to retrain traits, click proper ones, and move back to the original waypoint and find the group that I wanted to support. They’re already dead? They moved tired of waiting? No problem, I’ll just switch set again, go to retrain traits…
But what if there was possibility to become supporter with just one click?
If you’d click and in short time your character would change build to predefined by you, support build? You could quickly jump into action, without necessity of people waiting.
Also, when someone’s asking you “would you go to dungeon”, it would greatly improve the pace you’re ready to support your group.
The system could work similar to already existing “town clothing”: on hero panel, you’d choose “switch to another set”.
Benefits:
• Quick possibility to adjust to situation (solo/team play)
• Seems to be easy to implement (set and weapon switch already exist, reverting to remembered traits shouldn’t be too much of a problem)
• Possibility of introducing new tactics (connected to switching build and skills)

Proposed restrictions:
• Cooldown 30 minutes
• switching time: 15 seconds, interrupted on any damage taken
• No switching in WvW/PvP (or maybe? )
I was wondering if that should be something that you could buy for gems, but as it’s something that should help others, making people work long time for this, wouldn’t seem good.
Still, switch by itself could be free if using items from your inventory, additional tab with weapon, jewelry and armor set (something like existing “town clothing” ) could be tradable for gems as something extra – additional deposit place.

Level up a new character and join the Order of Whispers.
Buy the armour you want.
Transmute the looks of it into the stats of a White quality armour set.
The resulting armour pieces will be account bound so you can get them with your main for further transmuting.

When I double click on a Transmutation Stone and the window shows up. There is a warning text saying: Transmuting an item will make it soulbound.
Hm?

Only if the item can be Soulbound.

White quality items can’t be Soulbound so they become Account Bound instead.

I can do thirty Five-Dolyak Arm Curls.

I don’t understand why they haven’t implemented to switch gearsets. Give each character 1 free slot, charge 200 gems each to buy another. More free money for arenanet, and players can click 1 button to change gearsets, rather then sift through their inventory to find 12 items

Please put in switchable armor sets. I have all my inventory slots unlocked and half of it is taken up by the exotic armor and trinkets I regularly switch between. Would be great if I could just click a tab and have my cond set, flip another and have my defensive set or my DPS set while I’m at the trainer in LA. Would really make my gaming experience more enjoyable, cut down on inventory micromanaging(terrible part of games), and should be pretty easy to implement. I think a lot of players would really enjoy this. Thank you.

Thank you for the answer, I was looking for a solution for this, too. Adjusting the brower solved the problem.

However, I think it would be a good idea to re-consider this localization since it seems to cause a lot of confusion and minor issues. Or at least add the EN / FR / DE / SP option to the Main Website too, so people are able to at least switch, with a single click, to the language they prefer. Please consider this, I am sure the community will be grateful for it.

Please reconsider this choice. Safari for example doesn’t have separate language options, it always defaults to the system language, and if it doesn’t work in other browsers either wouldn’t it be time to look for a different solution?
At least stop the redirection if I chose a specific language option in the URL, or put the language selector from the forums on the main site too.

I’m in Venezuela, but I usually prefer to do my gaming in english. This is specially true on MMOs, since almost everyone I know speaks english, and I usually don’t like translated names anyway (I prefer how “shiverpeaks” sound to “picoescalofriante”, for example, and that goes to most translated names).

Thing is, anytime I try to go to the guildwars2.com website it seems to use a very strict geolocation that defaults to spanish everytime, with no way to change it to english. The forums do this as well, but there’s an option on the top right to change languages, plus if I go to forum-en.guildwars.com instead of forum.guildwars2.com (which redirects me to forum-es.guildwars.com) it leaves me in the english version of the forums.

No such options on the website, there are no controls to switch languages, and if I try to change the “es” bit of any guildwars2.com URL to “en” it redirects me back to the “es” version, and if I try to go to www.guildwars2.com/en/, it sends me instead to www.guildwars2.com/es/en, of course to the “page not found” site. It has come to the point that anytime I want to see a news item about GW2, I just look for somewhere else with the sign. I don’t mind reading it in spanish, of course, but I find it a little annoying when I read something about “el Arco del León” and takes me a few secs to figure out it means “Lion’s Arch”, for example, not to mention some regionalisms that also make it a little harder for me to understand than if I read it in english. The word “Sudadera” (sweater), for example, in the news about the new gem store items, is a word that it’s commonly used in Mexico… but not in other parts of latinamerica (we just calle it sweater here in Venezuela, though some people write it as they hear it so it ends up being written something like “sueter”).

It’s a pile of Elonian protection magic, mixed with a little monk training,
