This is an EXCELLENT idea thekap. I totally agree. A single slot for a single bag, that is accessible on all characters. I absolutely hate the idea of having to play a character-loginout dance in order to get my salvage-o-matic and MF conduit from one character to another. +1’s to you!

Guild wars should have an account bag for items such as infinite gathering tools and salvage-o-matic and anything else that is meant to be used on an account basis. bag would be available by all characters and act as another bag but would only take account bound items

Hi guys and Anet Whiteside Ridge (EU) here.

I think the best that we got Teq down to was 80%. It wiped our server, killed me a dozen of times, made people rage quit.

It also made our sevrer organize, use tactics, actually listen to commanders, and fight with such commitment as never before.

So a really good job there! I won’t give up until he is defeated, and I know many others on my server who are thinking the same.

The same people that said Liadri was great, while ignoring the flaws in the fight that artificially inflated the difficulty.

I’ve yet to see anything about the new Teq that counts as artificial difficulty, unlike Liadri, which was nothing BUT artificial difficulty.

I loved this event- Tequila wiped the floor with us, it was glorious

I was in on the 3rd try last night and we did abysmally.
Even so, it was great seeing people organize, making small squads and coordinating in map rather than just auto afk for 5 min.
It was fun
Please please don’t nerf it- it is awesome as it is.
This is what all dragons should be like- A threat, deadly, difficult and awesome

the problem with the not-account bound wxp its root you to one character. in spvp you can change any time easyli when the meta changes. in pve you can learn every skills within a week or less (20 seconds with scrolls)
what if you bored with your character and want to change, but you dont want to be less useful? :/

Be nice if they had it to where Wxp was as you say “account wide” but have it so the points you spend aren’t. each point is spend on a character of your choosing that way it balances it out a bit. if not you have a person who has everything maxed and just has to make a new character to get all maxed again.

If they were to make it account base Wxp then it would be a point system where the points are character based. in doing so it’s pointless to make it account wide Wxp, unless you just want the title… then idk make that account wide.
either way you look at it, it’s truly pointless to have it acct based.

+1 i like this idea.

I play 7 characters. I play them as needed for our havoc runs, this means a LOT of my WXP is just storing up on characters that I do not have a goal in mind for other then the basics so I probably have close to 100 points ready to be spent… but as its split on 5 characters right now it is nearly worthless to spend it, as each one does not have enough to make anything specific.

So I save and save in hopes that ONE day before GW2 dies they will finally get wise to this, and make it account bound

Addressing Moderation Concerns

We don’t need responses we need direction. You have this great utility at your feet “us talking about every little detail/balance issue” in which we out number you 100-1 and alot of us have more time to play the game then the devs.

So use it. Direct us and this wouldnt happen.

edit: Devs make it easier on yourselves and try to make some topics with polls http://strawpoll.me/ instead of us having 100 necromancer QQ threads. We outnumber you 100-1 and your making a game for us right? and I know alot of us keep asking you to listen to the top 1% focusing on the meta game trying to make it esports and this might be the right idea…. but the other 99% are having to deal with that fallout. Maybe they should have a feather of a weight in the decision and cast a vote; a,b,c what the general population is having the most difficult with.

So use your population, dont just let us create these crazy ideas of we need a whole new energy system because the games to spammy.

Time gating sucks and kills new player interest in the game. It is a way to lock in your existing players and suffer a slow death from attrition.

New players hate time gated gear because it means there is no way they can catch up. They hit max level, they give the old “college try” at grinding Laurels, Crafting, whatever for a couple of weeks then stop logging in.

New traits?! New skills! Sounds awesome. What would you like to see for the Mesmer? Personally I’d like to see.. iMage replaced with AoE condition & boon Phantasm (Torment/Protection?) to match the AoE condition of torch’s Prestige// Some traits for Chaos Armor// New Manipulations&Glamours. Something with a teleport or some kind of Glamour-lockdown mechanic… Hm, maybe some kind of ethereal field that makes enemy skills all the wrong buttons for its duration.

.. Thoughts? Hopefully this thread can get some dev attention so they can see what the Mesmer community wants. Hell, the sPvP forums have devs reminding them they’re watching all the time. THAT’D BE NICE FOR ONCE! =[

Edit: Some really great suggestions. I’ll list them here.

  • Shattered Delusions - “Remove all stacks of confusion on target. Deals X damage to the target per stack removed.” – Jijimuge
  • Mainhand Pistol / Focus - 90% of Mesmer everywhere. Yes. Official statistic. I traveled around the world to find out.Trust me, I wouldn’t lie to you.. I’m a Mesmer.
  • More AOE skills - Zumi
  • Offhand Dagger - Many of those above 90%
  • Speed Signet - Practically every Mesmer that has an alt or is tired of speccing Centaur Runes.
  • AOE zone that applies Torment and/or Confusion. Perhaps from a Phantasm -  True Seeker
  • Pulsing AOE Pull like Vortex/Into the Void. // A skill that increases enemy cooldowns and/or decreases ally cooldowns. - tornjorn
  • Doppleganger “Create a clone that mimics the user exactly for 10 sec.” – Requiem
  • Visage Swap “User and enemy switch appearance, allowing for the enemy to be targeted by their allies.” – Blaeys

How about this:
Feign Death – enter a downed state, when you use the self-heal skill, you immediately rally with the health you had when you cast this plus a small heal. Note this lets you get illusionary assassin…but you can get stomped if you don’t do it right. Also friendlies need some indicator that you’re not really downed, or it’d be a bit annoying to your allies.

Visage Swap – player takes on the form of one opponent and opponent takes on the form of the mesmer for X seconds. Other enemies can then attack their ally (who looks like the mesmer) and ignore the player for a few seconds (basically, drop aggro).

Now this, this would be very interesting. A few tweaks so that we can use it against people on other servers in WvW/S-T/PvP.

Make it so that that after we have used the skill we have 20seconds to use the new elite or it goes on cooldown. If used then it would have its normal duration AND it can copy/steal Transformation skills.

Maybe have it so when copied/stolen the target cant use theres, so we could even use it to block someone from using an elite for upto 20seconds.

Think it would need say 180second-210second cool down though, without the the block function i think a 90second cool down would be sufficient

I’m just dying for some of those skills to be implemented in GW2 form. Though Ether Feast is my all time favourite spell in any game, sadly it’s GW1 form can’t be transferred to GW2. Though a close second (and more probable for implementation) is Drain Enchantment
Except named ‘drain boons’. Instead of just stealing the boons, the skill would remove the boons from the enemy (or a short aoe) and heals the mesmer for every boon drained and adding one second of vigor for every boon drained.

Admittedly arcane thievery would be more powerful, but it would be a fun skill in my opinion.

One skill from GW1 that I’d love to see return, but in GW2 form….

Shatter Delusions – remove all stacks of confusion on target. Deals X damage to the target per stack removed.

This is gorgeous. I never once thought about having that sort of functionality, but having a consumption of confusion for power damage is a fantastic idea.

Just as a whole, i think consuming the effects of conditions for added damage is a good idea, and it wouldn’t have to be reserved for one skill.

‘Shatter Delusions’ As described by jijimuge

‘Hastened Demise’ next (3-5) attacks remove a condition, dealing extra damage (would prioritise damage conditions, uses a maximum of 5 stacks for bleeds, confusions and torments and deals their maximum damage in the case of confusion and torment, deals full damage of the durations for burns and poisons and deals a small amount of extra damage for other conditions)

‘Hopping conditions’ (bad name i know) Next attack consumes 1-3 conditions, dealing small damage per condition and transferring them to a nearby enemy.

’It’s all in your mind’ Next attack consumes 2 conditions, randomly adds another 2 conditions (would never re add a removed condition).

‘Mirage’ Converts 2 conditions into damaging conditions. Prioritises non-stacking conditions.

And then some more condition fun below

‘Nightmare’ Add 5 seconds to any conditions currently on target. Adds 2 stacks to applicable conditions.

‘Demented Thievery’ Steal conditions from target, stealing life for every condition stolen.

Hypochondria implement it exactly the same.

Now I’m no game designer (well not yet anyway) so I can’t state enough that these are just thoughts and that I wouldn’t know how over/underpowered each of those skills above would be. Though I do have to say I went with the assumption that the skills would be utility skills

Magnus Making A Power-play

I do not dismiss the idea that this is a political power play for Magnus to gain unfair power from, but, theoretically, if it was, wouldn’t Magnus deserve this extra leverage? He is the (lead) defender of Lion’s Arch, a longtime supporter of Destiny’s Edge, and a silent supporter of Anti-Dragon groups I.E. the Pact.

While yes, it does seem that giving Magnus more power would be the right choice, would it be the morally correct choice? Also you need to take into consideration how far he is willing to go to protect Lion’s Arch. Vizier Khilbron unknowingly sunk the nation of Orr in an attempt of protecting it from the charr. Though it could be debated that his worshiping of Abbadon could have played a bigger role in the Cataclysm. Still, if Khilbron had been corrupted by Abbadon, or simply a man pushed over the ledge, what’s stopping me from saying that the same could happen to Magnus. He very well could become, or is, a Son of Svanir. We don’t know his full story, just the front that he puts on display. It still stands within reason that giving Magnus more power in the Council is a bad thing.

Haaaaaa, I hadn’t seen that video before x’D Nightfall in a nutshell, hurr.

EDIT: I actually liked Kormir as a character, but there is definitely a neverending habit in GW storytelling where the player character is the main character’s assistant. I know a certain amount of it is unavoidable unless you’re very careful with the storytelling, since there are thousands of ‘main character’ player characters out there in reality. But still . . . Trahearne, rargh!

What legion was Gnashblade a part of when he was part of a warband? If he was ever part of a warband to begin with. This should tell you alot about his character. Do we really want a lowly gladium on the ships council now? What sort of message would that send to the rest of Tyria?

(I could go either way on these candidates tbh, but Kiel is a more logical choice considering how much interaction characters have had with her in the story so far. Gnashblade is just the rich guy that takes 2% and is stingy with the BL keys. I am very intrigued by the Abbadon fractal concept tho – and I’m just getting into fractals. However, from a role-play perspective neither of my characters would vote for him, so it may come down to a metagame decision.)
