Oh now I see why CD runs from 1v1s, they lose 1v3s when they actually fight
Not sure what CD you’ve been seeing, but the DURP (rofl) nametag from what I’ve seen almost always translates into free kills. I’ve lost count the number of times when I’ve been in a small group that steamrolls a DURP-bad zerg that outnumbers us 2 or 3 to one. The DURP zerg of course responds with more numbers. 10 DURP bads aren’t enough to take a supply camp being defended by 2 CD? Then bring on over another 10! rofl
Interesting video of the cherry picked fights though, but doesn’t mean a whole lot. After all, I’m sure many of us here have been victorious when we soloed 2 or 3 enemies. Only thing is, not all of us record those encounters and post them on the forums in a bad attempt to look good. But hey I understand what you’re trying to do. After all, if winning doesn’t come often for you, then you must record+show the few measly morsels whenever you do get lucky.

I’ve noticed all your posts give a very similar impression of your personality.
That’s not the kind of size he is talking about…

A few days ago i was semi afk’ing in front of a tower surrounded by the Veterans. Every 1 min i looked on the screen to check if something happens.
After a while a warrior ran by, observed me and with my inner eye i could see the cloud above his head: “hmm, is he afk? Should i try to kill him?”. One minute later he decided to attack me. I made a roll, used Entangle and 10 sec later he was dead.
I continued afk’ing but that guy came back, made a party invitation and whispered me:
“Don’t kitten run kitten into the guards kittenkittenkittenkittenkittenkitten noob” ;-)

Good thieves, who don’t depend on perma-stealth, won’t get affected much, but the bandwagon thieves, who depend a lot on the perma-stealth and only dare to attack/bully upleveled players or troll the citadels, will get affected.
This update is a good move to separate the good thieves from the bad/bandwagoned/failed ones.
Chibi Asura San (Engineer), Hikaru Masai (Guardian), Selene Minerva (Revenant)
Guild: The Bunnies [Bun] ~ Server: Jade Quarry
Good thieves will continue to be good and bad ones will come and QQ, nothing to see here.
If this does indeed happen and thieves start dropping dead everywhere cause they can’t chainstealth and can’t abuse culling anymore, i sure hope they wait about 6 months aswell before buffing the thief
That sounds like a good way to lose whatever percentage of your player base plays THF.
It would give them time to L2P
Luna Solares – Mesmer
What? Now people actually have to be smart about using stealth skills, in both 1v1 and zvz combat? Worst. Change. Ever.
That’s like, 90% of thieves in WvW that are going to roll rangers now. pew pew pew is the next big thing.
Making revealed apply every time you come out of stealth is the greatest change to this game so far. That in addition to removing culling will dethrone the thief as the king of WvW. 6 months was a pretty good run for them though.
I doubt SBI/CD will read this like every other fight club post.
Fight club! We’ll be waiting at south camp Mag windmill from 9pm EST/6pm PST.

Lol why? Maguuma is obsessed with Fight Clubs. I mean, we’re jerks, but we’re not liars.
Wonder what a server has to do to become distrusted when hosting fight club

Well to be honest healing up to 17k over 3.5s on a Warrior was pretty OP.
It was, which is why it should of had a limit to how much it could heal per second, not an internal CD.
it’s basicly the same thing

Wall of reflection, judges intervention and save yourselves for skill slots. Greatsword/ Sword & Focus. Helps to have the 100% burn on block ability also.
Firstly pop save yourselves for speed, retaliation + fury etc. You have 4 gap closers (inc GS 5) use judges 1st as longest cd and scares the crap out of them, use these then hide behind WoR while the cd’s are coming back up (plus it forces them to move close to get around the wall) you also have sword #3 which blocks projectiles and focus #5 which is a block. Focus 4 is a blind also.
Wall of Reflection. GG.

“Save Yourselves” & Contemplation of Purity – ’nuff said
Is it that hard to piece together why? While Warriors may have the upper hand stats wise, the game is far from simple mathematics. Guardians have a plethora of ways to avoid damage or recover lost health more so than any other class. Where as a Warrior is designed around the concept of just taking the damage and powering through it, the Guardian doesn’t have to take the damage in the first place or can bounce back from it.
Warriors may be able to block pretty well with their Mace/Shield, but it has nothing on Mace/Focus (Focus alone can negate 4 hits). Guardians also have the most liberal access to Protection, Regeneration and Stability relative to all other classes; it also packs Blinds across multiple weapon sets. If they have both highest base HP AND armor with all this mitigation, wouldn’t that just be a tad OP?
Rather than soaking up damage with a fat HP pool, a good guardian uses a combination of all these things to greatly increase its life span and it works. It is in fact the most durable class in the game.
Guardians can perform pretty nice DPS as it turns out. Not as bursty as Warriors, but our sustainable DPS is quite good. And we’re very versatile. DPS to Control to Healing to Support and all the hybrids in between (but then again, we’re not the only ones). I would say that we’re the most well-rounded out of all of the classes. And personally, the fun factor is way up there. A flashy heavy armored front-liner.
I’ve made one of each class and got 6 of them to 80, and each time its the same process.
Allocate the stats to suit your playstyle of that class.
Want to dive in and survive the fray? More Vit and Toughness.
Want to support? Boon duration and healing.
Want more DPS? Power, Prec, Crit Dmg.
Want to Hybrid? Mix and match the above stats.
There are a few stickied guides for beginners in this sub-forum that’s written very well and gives you a good outline of what we’re capable of and where to start.
Also, don’t stop there and just copy paste people’s builds, try new things, change traits, change gear, weapons, develop your own flavour of guardian.

this discussion as seemingly been in place since release or i don’t know but maybe even before that with bwe’s.. regardless.. i find both weapons to be great. i personally prefer 2hers over 1hers in this game (though i love sword scepter mace and the offhands as well). and i personally run with hammer AND gs. just because liek so many have mentioned hammer has a lot of CC, mb is too awesome and AoE triggers every 4 – 5 seconds is to die for if you play with people who know to drop fields when they see a hammer guard. GS is great for control, mobility and fast damage as well. each weapon works well against certain situations and enemies. no point picking one over the other. if OP doesn’t like hammer, that’s fine with them. why they had to come here to cry about it, i am impartial towards. just play with what you enjoy the most.
This here^ x1000.
Each weapon is better than the other in certain situations, and everyone has their view on things. If you don’t like it don’t use it, if you can’t decide then use them all. I carry mace/shield & hammer with GS and staff in the bag to switch out when out of combat, depending on what is going on.

Everything. I’m a healing guardian. I don’t do super high dps, but I love taking my guild into a dungeon or something and accidentally healing while I’m doing damage. I also enjoy the look and feel of playing the guardian. I like the spell auras and blue flames and I keep my character outfitted in gear that matches. I also like all the condition removal and the different utilities we have in our skill traits. I enjoy being able to go toe to toe with melee and the ability to step back and range while healing myself and others as well.
The LOOKS.
