Hey now. Being originally from SBI, I have never fought my old server. This is an exciting experience for me to see how much you guys have grown since I left back in December.
Cheers to those that know me, see you on the field!
You really expect a server that was abandoned by a bunch of fairweathers like you to have grown? That’s an odd perspective.

Well, it’d be nice to have a taste of upper tier tactics again. <_<
If ‘upper tier tactics’ means bigger zergs then yes ;_;

How can my necro make you bleed with a drawing on the ground?
Your necro is bad at art.
How does my guardian set things on fire underwater by bashing them really hard with a spear?
How can my necro make you bleed with a drawing on the ground?
How come any of the things in the game just…. are…. at all…
I.e.: stop applying real world logic to a game. “How” anything in this game? Magic. It’s a game.
My recommendation is to not get discouraged, if they have to send an entire zerg to wipe your havoc wear it like a badge of honor.

Sanctum of Rall
Watch for the poofs of smoke, shadow refuge icons, doors/walls being cloak & daggered, or NPCs acting funny.
That being said….
As a thief myself, I ABSOLUTELY believe that there should be a mechanic to penalize long-duration stealth for thieves.
For example – every second that they are in stealth, they get an additional stack of “Fatigue”. Every second that they are visible, they lose a stack of Fatigue. If they reach 25 stacks of Fatigue, they are revealed with a 5 second Revealed debuff.
In practice, a normally stealthing thief will never reach this limit – Shadow Refuge (3s + 10s) + hide in shadows (4s traited) and a C&D (4s traited) and you’d still be under the limit at 21 stacks of Fatigue.
What this would stop:
Perpetual C&D off of gates/walls.
Permanent D/P invis.
It would also provide a fight time limit for Thieves that are hidden for the majority of the fight – if the thief spends more time invisible than visible, eventually the Fatigue will catch up.
You know, I’m going to post this in another topic as putting it in a QQ topic isn’t the wisest thing….
Some of you need to take off your rose colored glasses with the DAOC crap. That game had plenty of major problems of its own, I would love to come in here and tell you that Shadowbane had the greatest large scale PvP ever because it was for buildings and cities that took months of peoples work to build and the classes in that game were far far more unique than in any other game. That would be a lie though, SB had SO many problems just like DAOC.
There is NO REASON 8 people should be able to wipe out 20 by using the hilarious CC that was available in that game.
Xsorus, you a little kitten over losing to SoS more skilled players? I hope you are on CD, we love farming you guys.
A. If you got wiped out by 8 people in DAOC with 20 people, It meant you played poorly, That’s really all it came down too… Now I know you’re going to say “They Chain CCed us” but since that lasted a very very small amount of time in DAOC (less then a year at the very start of the game, when there were virtually no 8 mans roaming back then, The 8v8 Meta didn’t really start till after SI) you really shouldn’t of been Chain CCed all that often if you played properly…Now with that said..What most likely happened was you were not panning at all, and got ball mezzed and instantly killed by an 8 man with PBAE, which is what happened 90% of the time when taking Larger numbers with Smaller numbers in that game…..You had a bunch of nubs stacking on one another following the zerg leader and not panning…Thus they died.
B. If you play badly, and like I stated above, that’s playing badly, You should most certainly lose to less people, The game shouldn’t reward you for being a mindless lemming of stupid following around a zerg leader and simply letting you crush better players. DAOC despite its flaws is VASTLY superior in every way to this game…EVERY SINGLE WAY… ..There is nothing done in this game that is better than DAOC..Do not fool yourself into thinking otherwise because this game rewards terrible players more than DAOC. Its not a better game for it….Its what makes this game worse.
C. I don’t play on CD, i play on SBI, and having small manned a large portion of this game, I can say without a day, a vast majority of the CD players I fight are better then the vast majority of SoS players…That’s not to say SoS doesn’t have good players, They do…But when you have more numbers you tend to not develop better PvP skills and instead rely on others to fight for you. This is why you get rolled over fairly hard during prime time when you’re not sitting in a keep. Its also why your side tends to avoid open field fights during Prime Time.

if they dont want treb to be blocked, they should just fix treb projectile instead
This doesn’t even make sense.
Axe 5 and not jsut standing there letting the theif hit you.
I have cripples, fear, protection and deal a lot damage myself.
you wont hit me with 4-5k since I have 1.8k toughness
If your ranger really just stands there, your are right – hes done (because hes AFK)
Update 5.9.2013: getting better ANet, still way to go!
A Lannister always pays his debts – For everyone else, there’s Mastercard.
meta =obnoxious over used word.
“For the first argument, let’s check virtually every single teleporting ability in the game”
There is also the necromancer spell Spectral Recall which teleports you back to where you have started. and has no limitations, goes through walls which stops shadowreturn at times. Surely this needs to be limited aswell?
That skill has a 60 second cd and isnt on a weapon. It also doesnt remove conditions and leaves a big green trail reminder instead of a small circle that can be hidden by terrain. Just saying.
Oh, don’t you know? We’re supposed to rely on our sturdy body and our teammates for help with this sort of thing! HURR DURR DURR.
What? Oo
Dailies and monthly…. If you can’t do those something it wrong.
This would change glacial heart into a hammer proc more so then an unreliable long cool-down trait.
Glacial Heart
Critical hits with a hammer have a 25% chance to chill your target for 1 second. This effect can only occur once every second. [optional] Chilling your target deals additional damage.
[optional] Chill your target for 4 seconds when struck by a critical hit. Cannot trigger more than once every 15 seconds.

Runes of vampirism anyone? Everyone can do it and you don’t even need to die in the process.
Typically, updates have happened at “some general time on that day.”
I for one think the bows are just fine the way they are. A Ranger’s bow should NEVER have the Thief’s bow’s abilities. A Ranger should NEVER have the Warrior’s bow’s abilities. I don’t know what you were thinking in that OP but I’m sorry to say this, your wrong. Ranger is a completely different play style than the other classes (as intended by A-Net).
All the weapons have some sort of synergy with the Ranger’s pet. Talking bows specifically, they are meant to keep distance and deal damage (conditions or crits) while your pet does the up-close damage (some are ranged I know). The problem is with most people who play Ranger (that complain about it) is they haven’t played the class long enough to fully understand its full potential. I being a Ranger from the day GW2 was released, have played almost if not all possible classes and know how it’s played.
Anyway back to the point, Shortbow is great for keeping distance with skills 3, 4, and 5. The 4 skill even has the pet deal 3 stacks of bleed on the target and with the cripple and new AI it’s almost guaranteed. The 2 skill is useful for the 33% less effective heal and up close it’s even better.
The Longbow is good for very far distance using the 1 skill. Very useful weapon to open with cause you can drop your AoE and force the enemy to go around or use energy, skills to get through it. Than hitting with the 3 and 2 skill combo is ideal, following up with the 4 skill to a weapon swap.
(This is the Shortbow comparison for Thieves and Rangers). Thief has to spam 2 skill to apply bleeds whereas Ranger can auto attack for bleeds. Thief skill 4 is poison, Ranger skill 2 is poison. Thief skill 3 is evade backwards, Ranger skill 3 is jump back. Ranger skill 4 is three stacks of bleed, Thief skill 2 is three stacks of bleed (that’s two skills the Ranger has that applies bleeds). And skill 5 for both, would you rather waste half initiative running away or potential blind (which no one would use in a fight as a thief)? OR interrupt or get the upper hand or kite.
It’s not the Ranger, it’s you.

lol…you’re not going to take a supply camp as a solo WvW roamer.
This is news to me.
lol…you’re not going to take a supply camp as a solo WvW roamer. You may take a Dolyak…but once you meet up with with the zerg or that group of 3-5…your roaming is over.
Not sure if serious or just terrible.
Further to Nashiri and KrazyKorean’s posts – we are also looking for more in the Oceanic time zones. Our numbers are growing and it would be fantastic to have new people join us not just for pve but for wvw and pvp as well.
Whatever your play style, hours, casual or ‘hard core’ you will find a guild that suits you. Come on in and shout g’day.
Fun the SBI way begins now
Hounds that have bees in their mouths so when they bark they shoot bees.
Looking at the scale of the Brand, I don’t know how anyone could plausibly dodge his corruption. You can’t just climb into a refrigerator to shield yourself from a nuclear blast. And while Kralk’s breath isn’t a nuclear blast, it’s going to take one hell of a dodge roll to get out of its area of effect. Unless Kralk didn’t actually try to use his breath to corrupt them, I don’t see how they could have avoided it. And if he didn’t use his breath, why not?
You forget that Almorra Soulkeeper, the creator of the Vigil, was the sole survivor of her entire warband that stood directly under Kralkatorrik’s corrupting breath. She survived in tact while being completely in the open and later founded the Vigil. Who’s to say that DE couldn’t do the same?

Just a FYI, Stun/Daze Sigil is rounded up, so a 2.2 sec would become 3.
What? How about personal story? It’s absolutely ok to have new solo instances in GW2
Half the reason very few people take any posts in the Thief forum seriously is because they are a) completely baseless opinions, and b) the extreme difficulty people seem to have forming thoughts into complete sentences with grammar and punctuation.
Seriously, stop with the run on sentences. You make Thieves look bad when you post this nonsense coupled without any articulation or clarity.
“I am a Thief, please nerf me.” Yeah, OK.
we all began as something else
I remember one particular pug of HotW P1 that I ran – the Warrior in the group showed immediate disdain, saying all Thieves are cowards that just hide in the shadows. In both Stormbringer and Butcher encounters, I engaged them in melee with no problem whereas he sat back with a Rifle and still got downed a number of times, being ressed most of the time by me Shadowstepping back and/or Refuging him.
He didn’t say a word after that
