In memory of our lost thread, here is a general discussion thread.

So here’s what this is: We can talk about dungeons and dungeon related times. No name-shaming, insulting, fights, inappropriate talk, etc. I will personally report anything that might go against the ToS, even if I love you to death.

Anyway, we’ve started with player wins, lets continue! Anything that could be a win should be posted here, funny screenshots, or even funny conversations (without names) but nothing mean, angry, or hurtful.

I know one citizen who’s going to spend the weekend taking screenies of all his favorite places in LA before they are changed. Someone above got it right: LA in the first GW was the first anchor of the game, the first place we (those that started with what was later called Prophecies) called ‘home’. GW2 has given us a different racial ‘birthplace’ but LA still feels like home, at least to me. We’ve had a year and half of this new version of LA and, regardless of the storyline that drives it, the changes will be sad to see. But the game was sold as being a living world, so be it. Kudos to ANet for being gutsy enough to take down a meaningful (and to some of us, sentimental) landmark.

A: As I said, it may be up for debate whether Marjory was meaning something like “Used necromancer powers to sneak up/get close” or “Felt the general aura necromancers give off” (Which we’ve never heard of that happening before in the lore IIRC)

It would be interesting to get some confirmation on this from the writers. Can necromancers feel the presence of a fellow necromancer? Because the story seems to imply that this is the case.

B: It’s been explicitly stated people (at least humans) can use magic to live long lives.

Long, but not over 250 years, unless they pull off some truly magical trick. Livia may be an exception.

It would make sense for Necromancers to have the easiest time at this.

I couldn’t disagree more. Necromancers do not live longer than other professions as far as I know. And certainly not beyond 250 years.

Also, there are items say, ascended which belong to other characters which would be weird for them to be available. Joko’s finger cuffs for example lol.

Yeah, it’s been brought up before how perhaps we shouldn’t take the names of certain items as lore. So you’ve got a point there.

I don’t think E has EVER been shown in the game to begin with. If It’s Livia she hasn’t appeared once. If E has been shown, it’s somebody that the players haven’t interacted with much or at all. Or isn’t a character that people are required to interact with.

I think we simply do not know enough about E right now to make that call. E certainly knows us, but he may have heard about ‘The Hero of Shaemoor’, and gotten to us that way.

Dougal Keane could be an example of a possible person. Well knowable about dungeons/events going on, from DR and lives in LA, he knows the characters before they meet him in the city…

It’s possible, but why would he be so secretive about it?

Spoilers ahead, dont read if you havent already seen the trailer.

I mentioned this a while back and things seemed to go in the right direction but its gradually gotten worse to the point that I feel a post is needed. I hope this is at least passed on to the team in charge of making the trailers for the up-and-coming content because I think this is a huge sticking point for the game going forward.

So I understand you wish to advertise the new content in the Living Story and this is fine as it attracts old players back and hypes the current players up. This I have no problem with. What I do have a huge problem with is the trailer essentially showing whats going to happen in the next patch, namely Scarlets minions attacking and burning down Lions Arch. I know exactly what the next installment of the living story entails and ive not even logged in.

So here’s an idea of how I would change that trailer- keep the LA part at the start but replace the Aetherblade pirate ships with the sound of one then fade out. Fade back in to screams and to the odd bit of burning rubble, fade out to the title. This tells the watcher roughly whats going to happen but doesnt throw images of a burning Lions Arch at us.

For so long ive wished that GW2 would keep secrets, surprise me for once but nothing has happened and im playing less and less because the game is currently so predictable. Sure I can ‘ignore’ these trailers because maybe im in the minority in not wanting to know whats coming up. The point im making is that you can still make trailers but without showing us exactly whats coming up. How many people are going to see that and say ‘not interested’ and wont log in? Be more cryptic and maybe a lot of those will at least want to try the content (and view the gem store) before saying it doesnt interest them.

tl:dr Im tired of spoilers in GW2 trailers, please try something new like NOT telling us what exactly is going to happen.

Hopefully, Arenanet choosing the next topic/topics doesn’t preclude the player-base from choosing topics in the future. It would be very interesting to see if we could development our own process for bringing organized content ideas forward. I would hate to see the CDI become the tune that we all dance to around the uncomfortable issues.

edit : and fishing

It does not preclude the community from choosing topics in the future. What we will do is once the next round of topics is over we will discuss how we feel the method of choosing the topics went this time and how we can evolve that moving forward if we all feel it is necessary to do so.

One thing of note:

’ I would hate to see the CDI become the tune that we all dance to around the uncomfortable issues.’

The CDI would be utterly pointless if this became the case (-: The game gets better because of tackling tough issues in the CDI. The Living World CDI was ‘Uncomfortable’ and Iam extremely happy with the positive impact that topic has already had in the game.

Nightmare =/= dragon I hope you realize this…

Just because she has mad drawings on paper doesn’t necessarily mean she drew on the actual walls of the cave,

But it’s in the same ink as her paper drawings, and she literally warned us about the danger of the dragons before. It’s quite clear that the dragons are at least on her mind, and that dragon is something she drew, or it would not be in a secret lair underneath the Priory.

You can’t just simply pretend that she didn’t paint the dragon, just because it’s inconvenient, when you do accept that everything else in her lair is hers.

I’d like a tower wars/ angry bird hybrid playable game where you have to fling angry charr at various midget versions of scarlets creations/recruits. I want 50 rounds of it, with the finalround being so ridiculously hard that people will troll other games out of rage they are so mad. During each level, I want the same audio clip of scarlet laughing on a loop so every second of the game we here that laugh.

Make this happen anet, and I will be a happy Tyrian.

No, I don’t consider that a possibility. We have to go with what we know, and we know that Livia IS a necromancer. We have no reason to assume she’s suddenly not a necromancer anymore. Marjory didn’t feel necromantic powers, so it can’t have been a fellow necromancer. Besides, someone who had contact with the Scepter or Orr would arguably radiate necromantic energy.

And I may be mistaken, but this is I think the first time that I’ve seen a necromancer npc state that they can feel the necromantic powers of a fellow necromancer.

Don’t think it would be Livia, since it was stated Marjory felt no “Necromancer” powers.

I’m thinking outside the box here, but just from my observations of the new mostly unknown race “largos”. Their interesting style and profound knowledge of the world is more than what we currently know it seems. Is it possible a Largos is actually working in the background? Maybe with assistance of the OoW?

I don’t think it’s any of the current major characters though, they all have billets to fill, and none of them I would suspect to have time for a “second job”.

This “E” seems to stay out of the way, more so an informant and bystander to all that happens. Whoever this character is, they have manged to keep a keen eye on many characters without a hitch.

Whoever E is, he/she has great connections but with no known connections.

While I think that dragon theory is really interesting, the bolded part contradicts that idea (IMO of course).

That dark, dragon dominated world she mentions, was “that time”. And forever after, she feared that her old master would awaken.
We know that she was freed by the Forgotten during the last dragon rise. Before that, she would not have feared, but rather welcomed Kralkatorrik’s awakening.

Which I think strongly suggests that “that time” she talks about was in fact the last dragon rise.

I interpreted it differently. I interpret “that time” not referring to the dark “dragon-dominated world”, but rather from the “a bright world that did not remember the rapacious beasts” time.

That would thus fit into the theory: at first there were dragons, then the Elder Dragons came and twisted the dragon-dominated world into one of darkness and consumed everything there was, then fell to sleep sated. In time, new races came and dominated the world, unknowing of the Elder Dragons, who eventually rose again to consume. And it was from that latter time that Glint protected Kralkatorrik as he slept, until the Forgotten freed her and, in time, she grew to fear him.

And on a side thought: do we know that the Forgotten performed the ritual during the last dragon rise… and not before Kralkatorrik rose back then?

Your main argument is that she said that nothing was left, and that we know that this is not true. But I mean, had the dragons truly consumed “EVERYTHING” during that first, primordial rise, Tyria couldn’t possibly have a biodiversity as rich as it is now (unless all living beings have, at some point or another, come from an alien world; or evolution from microorganism to proper species is pretty pretty fast in Tyria; or the Elder Dragons have been rising for billions of years which would have allowed new creatures to evolve after that initial tabula rasa).

“Before there were humans or dwarves, before there were even worlds or the stars that light the night sky, there was but one thing in the universe—the Mists. The Mists touch all things. They are what binds the universe together, past, present, and future. They are the source of all good and evil, of all matter and knowledge. It is said that all forms of life, no matter how simple or complex, can trace their origins back to this one place.”

Prophecies manual. All things eventually come from the Mists. With the Mists overlapping the world itself in various places (be it things like as seen in the Protect the Mists norn storyline, where we enter the Mists from Snow Leopard’s Wayfarer Foothills shrine and again in the Great Lodge, resulting in just a spiritual copy of both places; or things like Godslost Swamp, the stone circle in Varajar Fells (in GW1), or Reaper’s Gate), is it so hard to believe that the Mists couldn’t create brand new life on a desolate world?

Furthermore, the jotun place the cyclic nature of the Elder Dragons in their creation myths with known mentions of multiple risings (see Scholar Caterin ), an odd place to put them if the world wasn’t fully or near fully ravaged at least during one rise.

Eating everything doesn’t mean that only nothing can be left.

And that’s not really what I meant. But it certainly would mean that almost everything that’s edible would be. But the Bloodstone was made with almost all of the world’s magic – specifically everything that was not corrupted by the Elder Dragons already. That’s like eating a meal of a salad and steak, leaving the steak alone and saying you ate everything.

I mean seriously, how would this sound otherwise?
Long ago, I lived in a dragon-dominated world. I saw how they feasted on all flesh, on all minds, on all life. I saw how they ate until there was nothing left to eat – apart from these races that I hid, and that other race that hid themselves, and then there were some guys who simply managed to avoid them and yeah well anyway, ahem, gotta get back in my dragon voice – , and then fell, sated.

Arguably, they are writers, so they should be able to make it work where I can’t be bothered, but still… It just doesn’t seem necessary.

Long ago, I lived in a dragon-dominated world. I saw how they feasted on all flesh, on all minds, on all life. I saw how they ate until they saw nothing left to eat, and then fell, waiting for life to begin anew so they may rise once more.

Not very hard to do. And certainly not so obviously biased and silly as your example.

Konig Des Todes.2086

This means we had a large, tusked, herbivore race that lived in the previous rise. In regards to skeleton placement, the non-tusked skulls are more spread than tusked skulls, the tusked ones only being in the Crystal Desert, Desolation, and Ascalon (if memory serves me right), while the non-tusked skulls being in the same places, as well Kourna, the Southern Shiverpeaks, and interestingly: the Underworld.

Regardless, we here have two races that lived primarily around the Crystal Sea (hinted to be, by Glint, part of Kralkatorrik’s domain during the previous rise).

On a side, in the topic of skeletons:

Scholar Fryxx (at the end of The Long Way Around achievement) hints that the Leviathan bones he’s found may be tied to the previous Elder Dragon rising.

Number Two: Hinted Races
“This is not the first time the dragons have risen, though it may—or may not—be the last. That remains to be seen. "Genzhou Talonrend, Tengu

“Now all things grow and all things die; even the glacier is not unchanging. And there came to be a great storm that did not end though month after month and season after season passed. "Kodan (Jormag is known to have made a five year long blizzard when he descended south on the norn; sadly, I have not been since able to locate the skaald NPC which mentions this)

“We wanted to make the ogres an old race and follow that with the jotun, since the two species are interlinked.”Ogres

These minor lines hint to us that the tengu, kodan, and ogres may have also found means to survive without the jotun’s knowledge.

Number Three: Glint’s words and being

In Edge of Destiny, Glint mentions some interesting choice words:

“Long ago, I lived in a dragon-dominated world. I saw how they feasted on all flesh, on all minds, on all life. I saw how they ate until there was nothing left to eat, and then fell, sated. The darkness of those days slowly gave way to a new dawn—a bright world that did not remember the rapacious beasts. From that time to this, I have feared one of those sleeping dragons. My master, Kralkatorrik.”

But yet we know this isn’t true – they did not consume until there was nothing left during the previous rise. Aside from a writer’s perspective of not spoiling the Durmand Priory NPC dialogues, why would she not mention that some races survived the last dragon rising?

The answer could be quite simple: She’s speaking of two different dragon rises here. Or more, even. She could even be speaking of the first dragon rise. Just simply speaking of an awakening cycle in which all life was destroyed, leaving no remnant of knowledge of the Elder Dragons.

This hints not to a race of the previous dragon rise, but before that: Dragons. Not just the Elder Dragons, but a race of them.

The existence of the Claw of Jormag (which is ice coating bones by appearances), Glint (originally named Glaust that was a corrupted living being), and Zhaitan’s minions (fleshy dragon-shaped beings with names), and even Bone Dragons from Guild Wars 1 all hint to such.

This may even give a hint to the nature of the Elder Dragons themselves, but that is a theory for another time.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

Except for LA being a site of annual Underworld (Mad Realm) opening LA is as Thalador say. But the barrier between Tyria and Mists is weakest in LA, not anywhere elsde. Mad King comes to LA, Wintersday thing was happening in LA, and so on.

It makes sense that it’s a central ley line intersection actually, as testified by M.K. Thorn, tons of demons, all wintersdays in GW1 etc.

So yeah, of all of Tyria maybe Deslation, Door of Komalie and maybe Raisu Palace can possibly come close seconds to Lions Arch when it comes to otherwordly incursions and phenomena, I don’t think any place can quite compete though.

Nope. Nope. Aaaand nope.

First things first: where on Tyria are you getting that where there’s significant otherworldly activity there’s a huge ley line squirming below? Really now, this ley lne mania is getting fracking irritating: ghostly phenomena? Ley lines! No beer in Hoelbrak? Ley lines? Imperator Smodur having diarrhea? Ley lines! The reason why Queen Jennah is barefoot and Logan is a loser? Ley lines! The Pale Tree’s deviant attraction to tablets? Ley lines!! No outhouses in LA? Ley lines!!! Gum Drops’ mane (the Mad King’s Noble Steed who’s invisible) is tangled? WHY, LEY LINES, OF COURSE!

My dear friend, LA is not even close to competing for the award of “where the barriers between the Mists and Tyria are the weakest.” Actualy, it has nothing on guys as hardcore as these four. Let me introduce you to them! (I see you’re already acquainted with the Door of Komalie… that’s good). Zwierz, meet

Godlost Swamp, Varajar Fells, Mouth of Torment, Tomb of the Primeval Kings… guys? Meet Zwierz.

I’d say even Grenth’s hidden statue in Lornar’s or the cave where centaurs dump fallen slaves (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Speaker_of_the_Dead) have weaker barriers than Lion’s Arch. (Although I haven’t got the slightest idea why you listed Raisu Palace in there…)

Again, what does the Mad King’s annual appearance have to do with ley lines? His return for Halloween affects the entirety of Kryta, even provinces that have been long lost to tides, centaurs, or the risen, not just the former capital where he chooses to make his appearance in order to sow the most chaos and fun as well as to reminisce of his “glorious” living days.

And once more, I’m back to being stunned by the implication that “ghostly incursions and phenomena are indicators of strong ley line presence”… Where do you get this from? Because I see absolutely nothing to imply such. It’s like suggesting that where there are strong ocean currents on Earth, there must be dozens of ghost ships sailing above. Or where there’s strong tectonic interactions, there’s radioactivity… because hey! Ley lines! Back on topic: according to your reasoning, the largest ley line should run beneath Ascalon, the Crystal Desert, and the Desolation.

You can list the filthiest open grave in Cursed Shore, or the most run down shack in Kaineng City, it still doesn’t change on the fact that ghostly phenomena have nothing to do with the ley line network. (Also, I see you later on changed your view and declared that it is tied to the cyclical nature of things… so, by your logic, the largest ley line should swirl around the harpy colonies somewhere east of the Blazeridge or Dzalana…? Badum-tish!).

All in all, it will be amazing to see all the Hollywood-brained folks drool over to nonsensical destruction of Lion’s Arch because the writers tried to salvage the Garbage Story with an epic showdown between players and Villain Sue while a cosmopolitan megalopolis comes crashing down around them. I can’t blame them, though. That’s hipster, that’s trendy! Everybody loves a scenic apocalypse!

Oh and the explanation is ingenious: the strongest (cringe) of magical channels runs deep beneath this overgrown shantytown! Why, you ask? Please, man… y’know it!

LEY LINES!

There are many ways how ANet could improve the activity in the Maps

- Map Achievements
- Map Bound special Weapon Sets to earn
- Map Bound special Armor Sets to earn
- Map Bound special Finishers to earn
- Map Bound special Back Items to earn
- Make Heart Quests repeatable (Hard Mode Map Instance)
- Vanquishing (see above)
- Map Bound special new Skills to learn as a long term goal
- Constant Adding of new Dynamic Events every Patch
- Adding new World Bosses/ redesigning existing Bosses
- Adding Precursoer Scavenger Hunts which lets us to do tasks in various Maps
- Improving the Daily Achievements adding more Tasks that are Map Special, other then just killing only 40 creatures in the map. The (Group) Event Dailies should be Map Specific and not be general
- Adding new Dungeons
- Bringing Living Story Parts into unvisited Maps
- Map Bound special Rune/Sigil Rewards
- Map Bound special Minipets
- Adding more Map Bound special rare Ranger Pets
- Add Map Bound special Skill Reskins as rewards with that Players can customize the looks of their Skills
- Adding new Map Bound specific Materials for new Crafting Recipes for Cooking/Jewelry 500 theres alot of Food and Gems that could get implemented, like for example adding Diamonds, Aquamarines ect. or adding Pineapples and Papayas as new T6/7 Mats there
- Adding Order Missions to be able to earn Reputation for your Orders as a new player activatable Event Chain that will count also to Map Completion for Maps from Level 30+ on – they’d be just a different type of “Heart Quest”
Just remove some Waypoints for them and replace the WPs removed by the order Missions.
- Map Bound special Rewards for Housing once its there..
- Map bound special Dyes (rare chance to get one of those new Gemstore Dyes)
- Adding more new Guild Missions
- Adding more new Jumping Puzzles
- Adding Monthly Hidden Treasure Chests (like GW1 had them…)
- Implement again Weekend Events, where special Map Bound Weekend Effects are active in certain Maps, like increased Bonus % on Exp, Karma, Gold and MF, or higher chances to get rare Materials from gathering or you can just gather more materials from nodes, until then node is empty
- Adding new Gathering Styles – GW2 needs Digging and Fishing !

and there maybe also more thigns, but thats what I can think off right now and that is all together already alot.
If GW2 would just have all of this, I thin,k we would have a much much better GW2.

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside

More Armor Visibility Toggling Options?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: DarkOcean.8746

DarkOcean.8746

So I was super ecstatic to see that we finally, and randomly, got the toggle gloves option a long time ago! We’ve had a lot of numerous threads in the past expressing interest in the ability to toggle the visibility of armor off and on. I am hoping that we can make strides to finally implement a hide boots option.

I know that I would use this for one or two of my characters. I don’t think it can be argued by anyone that this sort of hiding feature does not belong in a game like this, as plenty of characters, races, and professions have been shown to be barefoot. I know it’s not a high priority, but I also see no reason why this cannot become a feature in the foreseeable future. It would add another acceptable layer of character customization that I think a lot of people would appreciate and use.

While I know that a thread like this will never become massively popular or gain a huge amount of momentum, I would hope that it will be seen and implemented one day. The amount of players that use the forums is probably minimal, and the amount of players that would bump this thread or show their support is also probably minimal. I’ve seen many threads like this come and go since launch, but thankfully, the hide gloves option was implemented without much of a hassle.

I also didn’t specifically name the topic of this thread to revolve around boots, because I know there are other players out there with legitimate reasons to want to add a hide shirt option (or pants). For example, I know a friend that would love to portray a monk-type character that only wears pants. I’m also sure many Norn would appreciate a hide shirt option so they’re able to display those amazing tattoos!

On the other hand, I unfortunately see the potential for hiding shirts and pants to be abused. They are two major pieces of an outfit, whereas shoes, gloves, shoulder pads, and helmets are not. For this reason, I specifically ask for a hide boots option, as I cannot think of any argument against it other than people just not wanting it. On the other hand, I can (unfortunately) see a hide option for shirts and pants being immersion breaking.

So in summary, plenty of Norn, Asura, Sylvari (all the races) and characters (like Queen Jennah and the elementalist trainer) are barefoot. In the early class videos for the game, I also remember the elementalist being barefoot in a combat video. It seems to be a perfectly acceptable fashion in Tyria, and it was nice to see an elementalist portrayed as a “down to earth” kind of character. I’m also sure some rangers would appreciate this option. There isn’t a limit to the amount of players that could potentially use this to advance their character the way they want to, without a stat loss.

Feel free to express your opinions and concerns for additional visibility options!

To ArenaNet: Please add the hide option for boots!

Thank you for reading!

Another lesbian relationship?

in Lore

Posted by: Visteri.3821

Visteri.3821

We can conclude that since the promotion of such relationships is so common within the game, there must be a purpose. It doesn’t reflect the demographics of reality, so it can’t be to appeal to the player.

Okay.

In real life, usual estimates say that about 10% of the population is gay (supposedly about 20% say they’re “not straight,” but let’s be generous and keep it at the minimum number), and I think it’s safe to assume that that percentage would be the same in Tyria. However, the sylvari as a species are not capable of reproduction and view gender as irrelevant when it comes to love, therefore it would make sense if roughly 50% of sylvari pairings were gay.

So let’s make a list of every couple ever mentioned in GW2, as long as we are sure of their genders, and see if those numbers match up. Married or divorced, alive or dead, requited or unrequited (crushes and flirting count too)…all of them are here. At least, all I could find in my research.

The ones marked 1 on the list had their romances mentioned in one or more full cutscenes, the ones marked 2 were mentioned elsewhere in the living or personal story, the ones marked 3 were mentioned in events and hearts, and the ones marked 4 were mentioned in flavor text, NPC chatter out in the world, optional NPC conversations, or out-of-game writings (short stories, etc.).

Sylvari same-sex pairings:
1. Caithe and Faolain
Dagdar and Eladus
3. Cymbel and Nia (Nia says they’re friends, but it seems like they have stronger feelings than that)
4. Roardina and one of the festival-goers

Sylvari hetero pairings:
1. Morrigu and Leurent
Tiachren and Ysvelta
Gairwen and Evart
4. Variella and Hanar
Lintoina and Garrett
Leanuit and Santach
Erisdae and her partner
A citizen and his love in Ronan’s Bower

On a side note: I think it would be awesome, if Marjory died and Kasmeer goes off the deep end. That would be an amazing ending to the Living Story.

I will just grab some popcorn and hope we got some 2-3 minute long CGI fight with two elder dragons. If not, i still have popcorn, so nothing can go wrong.

Player Character Dialogue Improvement

in The Edge of the Mists

I agree, the dialogue has improved for our characters, it feels as though we are contributing and have opinions. Unfortunately we have not had much interaction with the various characters this time nor was it as entertaining as the story area in the previous update.

Living Story has been very hit and miss, when they do one thing well something else seems to suffer. The Origin of Madness really did have the worst player character dialogue possible.

`Go on.´

Heh. The “Go on.” string used in last month’s release is what we call a “master linked” string. Essentially, the conversation keeps referencing the same text guid to save on text and localization word count. Every month we have a fixed budget, and if changes to any content (like a conversation) come after our lockdown deadline, we have to solve the issue using master linked text.

In other words, while it’s funny that the convo kept saying “Go on” with every transition, it was due to a combination of a tight deadline and limited word count and not a stylistic choice.

Training rooms for challenging group content

in The Origins of Madness

What if…

as part of the Origin of Madness live event, there existed a place in Rata Sum designed by Taimi that functioned akin to the X-Men’s Danger Room where players could fight simulated versions of the Wardens?

What if upon failing a Marionette attack, players were directed to Taimi with a mail message such as:

Attention -hero-!

Our defeat in Lornar’s Pass was inexcusable but understandable considering the number of bookahs present. I have analyzed our performance against Scarlet’s Wardens and developed a simulation room that we can use to refine our strategy to repel the next invasion.

Meet me in Rata Sum at your earliest convenience.

Excelsior!

Taimi

Once the player enters Rata Sum, they will be directed to Taimi’s practice room where they can fight each Warden until they are comfortable with the encounter. To further encourage participation, it could be tied to an accomplishment that increments the meta.

Tl;dr version: with the trend of group events that push the envelope of the average player’s skill but ties an entire server’s performance to the lowest achieving members, a place where players can bone up on the mechanics of the event should possibly be considered as an essential component of future events following this design. I included my example to show that such practice rooms could be seamlessly tied into the fiction of the event and game world.

Honestly, my last bit of input I can think of right now?

- Set up the forum topics and aggressively delete completely off-topic posts (no infractions unless it breaks code of conduct). Topics which arise out of natural progression of conversation which wind up off topic get split into their own CDI thread with a link in the first post to the original thread so people can find context where needed.

- On the players side, try to be neat and concise with your ideas unless asked to elaborate. On the devs side, if you need elaboration ask via PM unless you intend to discuss it openly. This will prevent elaborations from bogging down threads and allow you to still collect the information.

- Announce CDI threads starting on the patcher screen so anyone starting the game is made aware they are being done.

- If possible, allow one (1) in-game session somewhere where a dev or two can log a chat so players in the game who don’t visit the forums may include their input. Alternatively, some way of in game getting people to put in their ideas without needing to come to the forum from the game. Something to do while waiting on the wurm/marionette?

- Definitely try to get all CDI topics to run concurrently and receive similar amounts of developer attention/input/feedback.

‘- Announce CDI threads starting on the patcher screen so anyone starting the game is made aware they are being done.’

We definitely need to do a better job of letting folks know when a CDI starts.

Hmmm…. For Necro alone it could be something like clever usage of Spectral Walk, Flesh Wurm and Spectral Grasp, but we don’t have that many fun stuff.

However, there’re some hillarious thing you can do with buddy Ranger. One of Ranger’s Pets, Boar, can drop a skull which fears for 4.5 base and has no cap. With Moment of Clarity trait and + condi duration, your Ranger will be able to put over 15 secomd single target fear. You can spread it with Epidemic endlessly, spreaded fear is affected by your feae and condi duration and procs terror.

Watching people running in fear for 30 sec+ is quite enjoyable
