separate Stances used while underwater

It sucks, but whenever I go underwater I end up only having one Stance available because the one of the Stances I’m using on land is unavailable. Since the choices are limited while underwater, why not just keep the selected Stances underwater to be… underwater? I mean, they did that with Utilities after all.

Mentor-Tag abused as Comm-Tag

as for having both the commander tag(100G back in 2013) and mentor tag, its fine.

I dont get why you are bullying those that only have a mentor tag. its like you have some elitist ego about the fact you probably paid 300g and now anyone who gets that mastery can now put a mark on the map. Grow up.

As for greifing with tags, its been a problem since the introduction of the commander tag. Nothing has changed there. Just instead of everyone dropping 100g or 300g to get the tag, they just need to get a mastery. Elitists will be elitists and Trolls will be trolls. Having more ‘tag’ options does not change it.

And yes, anyone who has a tag as the ingame right to show that tag off. Just cause you think you own XYZ map cause you are organizing it does not entitle you to tell others to disable their tag. Get over yourselves already.

You should have to earn the commander tag, not buy it. A lot of kittens have it, and are not commanders, just jerks with the gold to spend. Mentor tag should also be earned ex: if you reach “respected acheiver” you can mentor as you’ve played enougj to be able to offer help.

The Mallyx Problem

in Revenant

Posted by: Azure.8670

Azure.8670

Well

With Mallyx you would take/want condis on you due to the 3% more damage per condi on you.

Also its FAR from worthless in pve, on the flipside, its actually amazing. In fractals, a lot of higher level fracs have opponent gains boons when they are crit hit which is VERY annoying, but Mallyx has one of the BEST boon removals in the GAME. One rev alone can make these fights 3x faster.

New Race: A surprise or not happening?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Mo Mo.1947

Bringing a new race requires a lot of retro refitting of ALL current armors and outfits. That’s a TON of work required all for the sake of content that ISN’T new. After that point, all new armors and outfits would have to be fitted to one additional race, that’s 20% more work on each armor and outfit.

For this reason, a lot of voices in the community don’t actually want a new race because it would take away from time that could be spent on fully new content.

The game and company would have to grow a lot more to be able to justify the amount of labor that goes into creating a new race.

A new race would be fun, but it would really only be an aesthetic addition. And we have plenty of aesthetic options already spread across all 5 current races.

Removal of Ascended Stat Swap

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: ikereid.4637

ikereid.4637

With the RNG behind weapon crates, and the RARE RNG behind even getting an Armor Crate. We (The Players) need this transformation Recipe. I cannot count the number of Ascended drops that were NO GOOD for any of my builds on my characters that went to waste before they did the Mystic Forge combine change. Now that we can change the stats, for 19g~ on average mind you, all Ascended now has equal value in the game. And it gives greater reward for doing Teq and TT then before.

But let me guess OP, your just mad cause now Acended can change stats just like your Legendary weapons? Cause honestly, I see no other reason to even complain about this change….

1. it makes world bosses that drop Ascended more rewarding – Win
2. Ascended boxes that drop with stats you do not want/need are no longer a wasted drop – Win
3. Economy stimulation for those that craft Inscriptions and Farm Globs – Win

Sorry, but OP you have nothing to really complain about here.

Why people complains that that yu wont keep loot etc? Its “beta”, youre not forced to play it if all you care is gold. But but tthere is posibility to drop precurson? Just dont press f and youll never figure out if you dropped one.

Its a kitten beta, would you also complain that you cant keep loot if beta week was on a new map? Be serious..

I will gladly play it and give a feedback as i like the concept but i cannot take it in current lackluster desing, loot is not something i care about when i can “help” to improve the class.

Fix Temples - Do not Reward Failure

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Altone Argith.5129

Altone Argith.5129

Please fix the Temples where you can defend them easily and essentially block them from being Contested for 2 hours.

Currently the only way to Retake Temples is if people purposely Fail the Defense.
Usually people will defend the Temples because they do not know that Anet (You) have set up the system to reward people for Failure.

The Defense is Far to Easy and the Rewards for defending are not worth it for People who know this system. People defending prevent the Temple Retakes which is where the Real Loot is kept.

Now with Megaserver people will just troll defend or just do not care and defend a Temple and forgo the Loot acquired with a Retake. Basically you are letting a few people dictate who gets to retake temple for the Loot.

Please make the Temple Defenses harder on par to a Temple Retake. Keeping the current system rewarding failure is not how many people play.

Personal Story Restoration update

I have 5 max level chars before the first PS change; all of them with personal story completed. When I heard the horrible things they’ve done to the already fragmented, inconsistent personal story, I vowed to never create another character again no matter what new race or class GW2 gets later. With this, I can finally start a Revenant and anticipate the PS in its better state, and looking forward to see the tweaks to key character’s lines and voice over.

But this setback will not be forgotten. It shows bad things can happen in a completely unexpected and arbitrary way while the person did the change think they made some improvement. The biggest problem with the PS was never chronological order or difficulty anyway. I hope next time ANet does something drastic thinking it’s good for the players and can “reduce confusion”, a reality check should be commenced and public feedback should be consulted.

Please make new wvw map optional

I just want anet to cycle the maps, maybe even add another more simplistic map with almost no npc’s. For this map, after seeing it on ready up last month (looks good), I’ve been thinking of higher population caps too. Of course that doesn’t do anything for those servers where most of the wvw players transferred out of already. Only solution there would seem to be w+w vs w+w vs w+w hah

this would be ok. i think so the wvw players that enjoy hte eotm style can go to the new map and the wvw playerbase that wants to fight and zergbust gets respected by anet by having a simpler map with no pve content.

Its not really the pve you fear, its the more complex maps.

hidden paths, using the environment as a weapon. Success effected by controlling surrounding territory.

Its not really the pve you fear (which is minute) its the strategy, and the changing learning curve/learning the ins and outs of the land /territory.

The npc parts of it will not be any more of an issue than they are in wvw now.

even if they had zero npcs on the new map you would still be dissatisfied, because what you really dislike is mechanics

lava is not pve
falling is not pve
choke points is not pve
multiple paths is not pve
controlling certain land for benefits is not pve

these things fall under strategy/tactics

Close the equipment gap

No. God, no. Please. Everyone who made ascended for the stats would feel cheated instantly. Idgaf if the stats aren’t worth it or whatever. They are still bigger and they are still better and that is why people make it. Believe it or not, there are people out there who actually like being rewarded for their efforts.

Essentially you’re proposing a “no child left behind” policy. The people who don’t want to do the work to make ascended should be able to have ascended stats anyways because it’s not fair otherwise, right? Regardless of the amount of work we put into something, we should all be equal. Lets get rid of the ascended gap because it encourages competition and takes away our right to be as good as anyone else.

Let me tell you something. I am halfway to ascended. It’s been FUN for me trying to make it because I’m IMPROVING my character. I can’t wait to finish it. This is something that makes me happy, Nolop. Do you think the others who worked hard to craft ascended will feel any different?

TL/DR: No

It’s made from scratch, so it holds more personal value.

Novamatrix.2569

It’s really starting to tick me off. For 6 days, non stop, I have grinded the hell out of silverwastes, no beta portal has dropped…. Why is it based on RNG when clearly RNG has hatred for giving people things when others get it multiple times within minutes???? How about a little diversity…. this farming thing, sure its a good idea, but it really isnt for everyone. Instead, how about mix it up by creating several pools to draw beta contestants from… EX::
1) Original pre-order clients
2) Amount of Achievement points on the account
3) Number Of hours played on the account
4) Amount of cash to gem purchases
5) Random draw from all accounts
6) People who have the beta portal.

This would create a diverse situation where everyone has a true chance of participation instead of just those who have the luck of the kitten RNG gods!
I understand that this beta portal thing was implemented to aware beta spots to active players. But how the hell is it at all justified that someone who just purchased the game gets beta access over someone who has been playing since the original beta and has over 3500 hours on the account…….
Its just annoying as hell to be playing one kitten map, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over……………….. doing the same event, for one little piece of crap that will never drop for you simply because the RNG hates you….
I mean seriously.
k…. my rant is over now….

Title says it all.
Just wondering because I’ve noticed people are starting to get invites, and I’m kinda of surprised (as well as being an entitled little baby, but hey) that I didn’t get one. Simply because I’ve, you know, been playing since the first beta of the base game, have clocked thousands of hours, spent a bunch of cash on the gem store, have never been suspended or banned or anything like that (AND applied for the beta).

If it was just random that’s totally understandable but I’m just…like I said, surprised, and I guess a little bit disappointed that I won’t be one of the people who get to participate in this.

So was it just random selection or was there some hidden criteria?

I, for one, will be using exp scrolls, writs, and tomes to get mine up to LVL 80 as fast as possible.

My Greatest Fear Plotline

Guild Wars 2 Narrative Lead

(Sorry for double post, this is unrelated to above)

There’s still a story issue that hasn’t been addressed yet: Personal Story and Dungeon Story Mode relations.

Currently, you’ll get a “introduction” by the Herald at level 25. At level 30, you get a letter about Ascalonian Catacombs story. However, at level 40 you have the Destiny’s Edge meeting in which Eir talks about going to Ascalon Catacombs indirectly. And at level 50, you get a letter from your iconic talking about events at AC, TA (level 40 dungeon), and CM (level 50 dungeon).

IMO, the “easiest solution” if the changes to levels of the Personal Story remains unchanged (something I personally don’t mind, though I’m unsure about the “locked until level” part) would be to raise the dungeon levels. Make AC story level 45, TA level 50, and CM level 55 – leave the rest as is, and raise explorable to an appropriate story level+5.

My “preferred solution” would having all explorables at level 80 (makes cross-dungeon balancing easier), have AC story at 50 and each subsequent story dungeon 5 levels higher (TA=55; CM=60; SE=65; rest as is)

Whatever the solution, just figured I’d bring this up on the topic of Personal Story fixes.

I’ll add this to the list of things to investigate. It might just be an issue of changing when we’re triggering the sending of those mails (or how they’re worded).

Could you clarify, for absolute certainly: will the story steps that were re-ordered be returned to their original order (in addition to the restoration of the Greatest Fear arc)? And will the story instance entrances be returned to their original locations, rather than the current airship ‘airdrop’ thing that currently occurs at Fort Trinity?

Yes, the story steps will be restored to their original order. We’re looking into removing the airdrop step as part of the fixes as well.

Teeny Tiny Expansion

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Firebird Gomer.9563

Firebird Gomer.9563

What is being given(based on what colin calls major features) in this expansion is somewhat similar to what we have been getting in feature updates and very small.

One new profession. NO new race. No new dungeons. (we got fractals for free!) Another region comprised of at least 3 maps(southsun cove, silverwastes, dry top, all free.)

Just cause they didn’t say it doesn’t mean there aren’t any. And its more than likely there are a few. But no-one outside of Anet knows yet. Same for how many map locations. No-one outside of Anet knows yet.

Specializations (only one weapon added to each profession and not giving universal weapon usage amongst all professions.)

Again there isn’t a lot of information on this yet. Speculation hopes for more than one per class. But if its only one we can hope that its one PER expansion.

Guild Halls, should have been in the game at launch. Stronghold , same thing.

Undeniable for Halls! Stronghold within the first year yes. However Halls didn’t have to be BIG and could have over time been enlarged.

CORE GW1 was released with so many of these features plus TEMPLATES!

Actually Templates didn’t come in for many years I remember being annoyed that I couldn’t save setups and the day they did release template saves the GW’s 1 community cheered with great gusto. Also there were LOTS of things that were NOT in GW’s 1 during the core game’s first few years of life that should have “been” (according to the community).

I say expansion is too big of a word for this.

Again not enough is known. So how can you say this? Are you a Anet developer? Have you seen the “expansion” in full?

I would rather call this
" If you don’t buy it you will be left behind." I will buy it of course but it just doesn’t feel right to call this small DLC that could have been free an expansion.

Apparently the sales in China did not make any profit for Anet to keep the dream alive.

Really feels like I am paying for a fix. A reason why I didn’t buy Diablo 3 expansion.

Wait lets call it Paid Living Story

I think this is your best suggestion (yes I know I have taken it out of context with the rest of the line of text.) But the point stands. WAIT and see.

I completely disagree. I LOVED playing the villain for once. I like having characters all across the board—from unrepentantly evil to goodie-two-shoes. I have been frustrated since the beginning that my “evil” characters have been forced into a “goodie-two-shoes” role for the length of the personal and living story.
Slaughtering that centaur village was a shock at first. I’d become mind-numbingly used to playing the good guy. But then it was… glorious. Liberating. Malicious and heartless and fun! Please, Arenanet, let us play the evil role more often!

Nice lying there Tommy. Clearly FA and Mag have comparable numbers to BG………..

I don’t honestly care if you believe me or not TBH. But I do know that 5 people in a tower with well placed siege and disrupters can hold off a map blob without breaking a sweat; I know as I did it once last week. FA doesn’t lack the numbers as was seen on reset they just lack the conviction to defend, however mag needs to drop a tier IMO.

5 people can’t defend against a 50 man TC zerg blob.

On reset you outnumbered FA substantially. we had one zerg per map. you had two or three.

FA zerg = 25-40 ppl avg around 28 by ts and visual counts.

TC zerg = 50-75 ppl.

You guys just PVD. you didn’t even need to place seige and you’d take down gates.

Your ‘advice’ is so skewed and ignorant. from ALL of your posts. All TC is doing is just zergballing. Some players there are actually decent, the rest just glob up and press 1 and 2. maybe 3.

there’s lots of situations where 8-15 of us will take on 20-30 and just smear them. Till someone who got smeared cries and calls your giant zerg and steamroll anyone dumb enough not to wp when the map starts lagging.

TC just seems to be made up of people who joined because they wanted to win, not because they were good.

which is cute because you’re busy talking about having to give up loot in your other post. Clearly something that you guys don’t do.

So yeah.. don’t talk about ‘competition’ and pretend you’re aspiring to something greater than a scrub 50person persian zergball that can get wiped by 20 spartans. ty.
