Only black quaggans in Bitterfrost

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Ariurotl.3718

Just for the fun of it (and ignoring the fact that they’re just colored like orcas), from a biological perspective most fish and other marine animals who live in the upper part of the body of water have the upper half of their bodies dark-colored, and the lower half – light-colored or white. That is something they have evolved in order to hide from predators. When a predator (such as a fishing bird) looks down on the fish, it’s difficult to spot because the upper half is dark like the water. When a predator looks up on the same fish during the day, it’s also difficult to spot because the bottom half is light-colored amid the sunlight illuminating the water.

We know that regular quaggans used to live deep in the water until krait displaced them (let’s just ignore the fact that they appear to be mammals and mammals can’t breathe in water like fish), then judging by the coloration we can theorize that Bitterfrost quaggans live in shallow waters, and therefore possess the coloration that makes them more difficult to spot.

I see it going down like this.

First Braham rallies the norn and Rox to fight jormag. Lots of people die, Rox comes back to our side being the smart one. Braham goes all boo hoo, I hate you I love you.

Then he’s consumed by hate and it turns into Destiny’s Edge vs Dragon’s Watch or what ever the new guild is called. We hopefully get to fight Braham and he realizes he’s just a weak emo boy who cant control his motions and oedipus complex.

He wants vengeance and goes to Jormag for unlimited power and we get to kill him(finally) and while we are at it killing the dragons too.

I like new outfit that just was added to the game but once again i won’t buy it due to how disproportional legs look like. WTB leg fix

For this veteran? It’s true. The game’s held my attention for over four years, I believe. Like I said before, once I hit the AP cap, my interest instantly dwindled. I also said it appears the numbers back Rauderi’s opinion.

I’m not here to argue. I only offer my opinion. And that was my experience.

You can find this in the sporting goods department. That’s right, this sweet baby was made in Lions Arch, Kryta. Retails for about twelve hundred and nine, ninety five. It’s got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That’s right. Shop smart. Shop Evon-Mart. You got that?

Hey All,

We’ve been monitoring the in-game chatter tonight during the US Election, and while most conversations were civil, some were going well beyond the boundary of acceptable behavior that we allow in-game by bordering on harassment.

Guild Wars 2, the world of Tyria, and most games, are meant to be a way for us to enjoy ourselves and allow a possible escape the confines of reality for a short period of time. MMOs are nothing without their communities, and sometimes real-life can splash into that very quickly and aggressively.

We are all here because of our love for games and the worlds that they allow us to explore. Opinions can differ, but by playing Guild Wars 2, we all have something in common. So, please, stay civil. Remember that no matter what is going on in the real world, Tyria should be a safe place for everyone to enjoy.

We are all in this together.

I don’t want new Halloween content. I want more changes to the world (Living World & current events) and more festivals that are mostly repeats.

Put another way, I’d rather see dev resources applied to changing the game’s permanent content rather than on a festival that lasts only a few weeks.

My Cantha prediction is coming true

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Ayrilana.1396

Ayrilana.1396

If i remember correctly, Cantha was dismantled because it offended the market in Asia for grouping all (Eastern) Asian cultures into one mega continent, and Anet was forbidden from making references to the Canthan continent / culture. The Canthan district was permanently destroyed in Lions Arch and I don’t think there is one in Divinity’s Reach. Even if they used up the entire map in Tyria and Elona, I think we would sooner go to the scrapped Guild Wars: Utopia map than back to Cantha

Aren’t all Asian cultures on a single continent called Asia though?

Story too short

Teratus.2859

Yes the Story was short.. but really take a look at what the patch give us

New PvE Map
New PvP Map
New Fractal Hub Map
New Story chapters
New Mastery
New repeatable Heart Quests
Multiple new Events and Chains
New Minipets
New Map Currency
New Merchant NPC’s and items
2 New Jumping Puzzles
New Back Skin
New Weapon set Skin

The list goes on..

Yeah the Story was short but seriously.. look how much content we got in this patch instead..
I very much want more story over content when it comes to Living World patches but sometimes you have to give and take on big patches like this..

Just wait until we get a LW patch that doesn’t give us this amount of content..
I’d expect if we didn’t get new maps and all sorts of new content like we did in both the LW3 patches we’ve had so far then we would have a far more story focused patch with longer and overall more Story content.

Same applies to the next expansion pack for Gw2 as well..
HoT give us a chunk of content but a lot of new system mechanics and stuff as well which I expect took up a good chunk of its development..

But now that all that is in the game already we can expect the next expansion to be much bigger and more content and story packed

Ok since on 23rd October it will be 1 year since HoT came out can we at long last get HoT’s stats unlocked on Ascended Breathers?
I remember at first the stats on them couldn’t be changed as you couldn’t even throw them into the forge. Now it is possible to change the stats but not into the HoT’s ones.
Well it doesn’t matter all that much but still it’s a bit wierd we still can’t have those stats on them.

PS: yes I want my necro’s breather to have Viper stats so sue me.

Well we wont get guild cape, whatever resaon it is. i dont belive its clipping.

Make at least a Superman guild cape as glider skin.

Yes! I actually came in here to request GW1 style capes to return. I believe a lot of old players miss their GW1 style capes. I think if they made that as a backpack/glider skin (even more so if they came with an exclusive gliding animation) it would sell really well. Sadly, they released the Amethyst Shield for too short of a time and I wasn’t able to get it, so I’m hoping it will come back out around Wintersday or something. I’d like to see more amethyst themed weapons though.

Some new armor skins. Or Outfits. I believe the Elite Druid Armor from GW1 would be really popular, plus there were several other really nice armor skins that could probably be converted over.

Just the other day a friend of mine and I were talking. And we both agreed that a Cynn inspired dress outfit skin would be really nice. However, I’m not sure what they’d do with the male option, maybe something similar to something Sasuke (GW1 Ele Hero) would of worn?

Dunno, just jotting down a couple ideas really quickly. I just know I’m kind of chomping at the bits for some new armor skins to give my characters some new looks. Fashion Wars needs more Fashion. O_O

The responses were pretty clearly in favor of changing the art. Thanks for your feedback everyone. We will go ahead with updating the art so it doesn’t show through the back of the head any more. This should be out in the next update.
As for the first-person camera bug, that turned out to be a much deeper problem, but it is being worked on.

Confirmation for selling ascended stuff

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Ashen.2907

Ashen.2907

The only real solution for the problem is adding a confirmation dialog which would warn a player if he or she tries to sell an ascended weapon to a vendor. True, not many players (if any) would ever want to sell a 100g weapon for 1g but adding this option would prevent people from accidentally doing it.

My apologies if my response seems at all hardhearted but I believe that you are mistaken. The only real solution to the, “problem” (if it can be called that) is for players to pay attention to what they are doing in situations such as the one you describe. If someone can ignore or not pay attention to the color of the item they are selling they can just click through confirmation dialogue as well. I’ve seen people ask for it to be impossible to sell something because they shouldn’t be expected to read the confirmation dialogue box before clicking on <yes>.

My condolences for the setback you have experienced, but what we need, in my opinion, is not more hand holding but rather more personal accountability.

Again, my apologies if I have given offense, such was not my intention.

Anet promised us new legendarys in early 2013

My mom promised my brother all the ice cream he could eat if he’d be brave before getting his tonsils out. He never got the ice cream. The White Knights in my family point out he did get “all he could eat” — it was just he couldn’t eat anything at all. The family critics said don’t parse the words, clearly he was promised ice cream in bulk.

Regardless, my brother got over it.

I don’t really care if ANet promised something or shared their plans. Talk is cheap; it doesn’t matter to me what they said or say or are going to say. I’m only interested in what they actually deliver. As long as the game is fun for me and has fun stuff to do, I’ll keep playing and pay for expansions.

It’s the OP’s right to hold a grudge and not to spend their hard-earned (or easily accumulated) RL money on GW2 because of it. Personally, I find it’s more fun to ignore ANet and play. Life’s too short to worry about what Colin said 3 years ago or what Mike O’Brien will say next week.

Daily points capped at 15000.

So the cap is 15000 for daily points and now I’m more or less stuck just shy of 28000 with only 1 goal of trying to complete my armour collection of the hellfire set. It would appear that i need at the very least 7000 more points- Was this intended to make sense to anyone . I am being told in map chat that this is so late comers can catch up- CAtch up to what exactly. Sense 90 percent of us have been here since the begining…. why does a wall now stand between myself and my future armour. Why now do those who came late to the party feel the need to catch up to all the veterans who have been diligently chasing down these achievements . This confuses me greatly and has pretty my killed what little drive i had left in this game.
The 2gold reward is decent but does very little for my resolve. Looking for a dev response on this one.

But here’s a scene we don’t see anymore.

And below it, my favourite comedy shot – it wasn’t just clipping problems that charr used to suffer from (or maybe the Three Legions Court bar used to be a stripper bar…)

Anyone else think Fate's Razor sounded better

I typically don’t like the words fate or destiny in anything. It sounds pretentious.

Dragon’s Watch isn’t terrible, but not my personal pick. Rytlock was mourning the loss of his guild and guild leader. It is no wonder he shot down the idea.

This is the reason why he didn’t like it.

On the whole name thing, I really think the guild should have been called Dragon’s Bane. Sounds better, and we ARE pretty much slaying dragons.

Less outfits, more armors.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

reapex.8546

Yeah, this gets said a lot, but it needs to be constantly repeated to ANet.

Their answer has remained the same for years. People like to earn armor pieces in the game. Players did not like how the gemstore was releasing armor only. So, Anet decided outfits would be for the gemstore and have a drawback. Not being able to have individual pieces of armor. Yes, you can say they made armor pieces in the past but that was before they made that announcement of the gemstore being for outfits.

Achievement Points Cap

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Illconceived Was Na.9781

Illconceived Was Na.9781

In the meantime, the problem isn’t the cap on AP, as such, it’s the importance players place on the number.

I don’t place any importance on the number, other than that there are skins I’d like to unlock that require more. For newer players, there aren’t enough AP in the game (counting all existing AP and 15k from dailies).

I don’t really care if there’s a cap on dailies or not, in terms of personal impact (won’t affect whether I keep playing or do dailies for gold). However, if ANet keeps the cap, I think they need to find a way to adjust it, so that each year, everyone has a similar chance of earning those later rewards…eventually.

Achievement Points Cap

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Illconceived Was Na.9781

Illconceived Was Na.9781

Achievement points aren’t capped — just certain repeatable sources are capped, notably dailies.

I’m not sure anyone would have minded, except that during large parts of 2015 & 2016, we have had no new sources, whereas in 2012-2013, we had tons. The Long Content Drought caused a lot of issues, directly and indirectly.

Here’s what I’d like to see as a compromise: the cap on dailies should be adjusted upwards so that there’s also a ‘floor’ on the minimum number of points added. For example, any year that the total number of new AP was under 7,500, ANet would increase the daily cap by a few thousand (the amount depending on how far under the ‘floor’). (I used ‘7,500’ since that represents 30,000 points in four years — the amount a completionist might have gotten if they began playing during Headstart.)
